It was full and hard to find a seat. It has a full bar and dinning area. I finally got two seats at a high table with other people sitting at it to. You order online and they bring it to you. Found this place before our departure. Self seating. Sat at our table and reviewed the menu. 5 minutes passed. A waiter came by to ask us what we wanted to drink. The servers are not the friendliest to say the least. We sat down at one of the booths and were immediately scolded by a server by the name of "Love." She yelled really loud and embarrassed us in front of everyone by shouting "Get Up! You don't lie down in restaurants!" I mean, she could have at least approached our table and ask nicely. Stopped by Maui for the day for work and was lucky enough to catch lunch here before I left. I was feeling something "heavy" and "American". I went for their Sammy's Beach Burger and it was so delicious! The patty was flavorful and well-portioned. The sauce and multiple cheeses really added to the flavor profile. As always, the staff and management always show "aloha". This time around I took my food to-go, but there was plenty of seating and I appreciate the large windows providing natural lighting. Walking in the place smelled great like a pizza but the aroma probably came from the little pizza shop nearby. It was lively inside and busy without being totally packed. Service was alright, not bad but not good either. Not feeling ultra hungry my husband and I split a Cuban sandwich meal. I think it could use some improvement. Except for one lowkey cowboy song, it was all bland versions of tepid songs done in the pseudo reggae style so common in Hawaii. Right next door to Burger King and California Pizza. The Burger King restaurant was packed, with no seating available on the premises, which overlapped California Pizza, which had nobody in line. We went to Sammy's, and the place was 90% empty. We ordered the most popular items on the menu, the $22 Sammy's beach burger with fries, and the $22 grilled Ono sandwich with $3 extra for a salad. Decent ambiance with wide open view of the airplanes at the gates and on the runways. Room to spread out for our four pieces of luggage. Service is good, as our orders arrived in a few minutes. The burger came with bacon, avocado spread, pico de gallo, feta cheese, and crispy onion. 8 oz of beef medium, could have used some zesty ketchup, as the additions were somewhat bland. Didn't care for the fries, as too dry and overcooked. The Ono sandwich came with two slabs of fish fillet on a bun, with lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado spread. The glazed bbq sauce gave the frozen thawed ono fish some zip, as it otherwise had the taste and texture of chicken breast. World turned upside down. wife ordered the burger with fries, and I got the ono sandwich with salad. The salad was delicious with a tasty green goddess type dressing. I knew my wife wouldn't finish the burger nor the fries, so i got a good portion of hers. I had a long time before my flight so I was in no rush, like just about everyone else lame meandering at an airport on travel days. My server stopped by to tell me she would be leaving and that I would be taken care of by one of her coworkers. Okay, thanks. She same by again asking for my card because she was leaving. Like...didn't we just have this conversation less than 2 minutes okay? Cool, fine, here's the card. She comes by again telling me "you need to sign so I can leave" Girl...what? Why are you rushing me? How am I holding you up? The tip from this table is yours regardless. YOU said I was in someone else's hands. Plus, I was very much in the middle of something. It was so aggressive, disruptive, and rude. I don't want the karma of not tipping but good grief this situation would have merited me. I thought we had left bad airport food and poor serivce in the rearview mirror. I would have been happier with Burger King which was next door. I thought this was a sit down place with full service. I walk in and there is a sign to seat yourself, the only problem is, the few tables that are available are dirty. We sit down and wait, we weren't acknolodged, about 10 minutes later, a japanese couple sits down at a dirty table next to us. Someone comes over to clean the table right away. I try to flag that person and he is clearly keeping his eyes down to avoid eye contact. When I flag him and nicely ask him if we can have our table cleaned, he waves me off and says "Yeah, yeah". Another adjactent table asks if we realize that nobody will take our order, we have to order it through the app. I thanked him and said that we realized but we didn't want to order until the table had been cleaned. We order and our food is slammed down on the table with nothing said - no silverware or untenils and again, I have to go chasing someone down. I ordered a medium burger and it was beyond well done. The table with the Japanese couple were offered a bunch of condiments including mayo, all II got was attitude! Aloha! Just made it from Bay Area! I'm hungry. The aftermath awesome view of the airplanes. Pretty good and average food for an airport bar and grill. Portion sizes were decent, and the seasoning was fair. The grilled shrimp taco and veggies were fresh. We didn't catch the attention of our waitstaff right away, so when we tried to use the website to order, we were unable to do so because our table had mistakenly not been enabled or something. So manual ordering was done. Once we finally got someone over to help us it was quick to submit the order and the food came out fairly quickly. I wouldn't try to eat here if you are in a hurry to catch your flight, especially since there are more customs checks after this point. The atmosphere is typical for an airport bar and grill.
