Very dark atmosphere. Cute fireplace with 2 chairs. Large bar in the middle. A few tables about 8. We had been at a school event. We tried the midnight in capri burrata and cornflake chicken. Chicken was overcooked and burnt. Burrata was on naan bread that did not taste fresh. Server was attentive.

This place is even better than I thought it would be. From the decor, to the food, to the drinks, I highly recommend it! We came here for brunch, but looks like they are open at night too which we'll try next time. Their coffees are great and come in cute glasses. I love that anything on the menu can be made gluten free! It was hard to choose, but I went with the that's what I tot bowl. It was delicious and a great portion, I couldn't finish it all. I would've liked more of the chipotle on the side to dip the tots in. My friends loved their breakfast as well; we definitely want to come back here at night for drinks! Such a hidden gem in the middle of Acton.

Where ambiance Meets Tapas If Hogwarts had a lounge in Acton, it would be Velvet Vine. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is equal parts cozy and enchanting -- dim lighting, chic décor, and just enough buzz to feel alive without being overwhelming. We kicked things off with a Witches Brew that was downright spellbinding -- a drink that could charm even the most skeptical Muggle. The Espresso Martini was pure wizardry: smooth, bold, and guaranteed to keep you wide-eyed through the night. A mixed drink rounded out the trio, each cocktail crafted with flair and a touch of mischief. The food was a playful parade of indulgence: * Tater tots that were crispy little golden spells. * Meatballs that packed a savory punch. * Sliders that were small but mighty, disappearing faster than you can say "Accio burger." * Goat cheese that was creamy, tangy, and downright addictive. * Raviolis that felt like little pockets of happiness. * caramel cheese cake was outstanding The staff? Absolute charmers. Attentive without hovering, quick with drinks, and genuinely welcoming. You get the sense they love being part of the magic here. Velvet Vine isn't just dinner -- it's an experience. Come for the cocktails, stay for the tapas, and leave already planning your next visit!

Feels like a speakeasy, here in Acton, who knew?! and wow! Amazing service, quick and delicious brunch, creative and scrumptious drinks. For the brunch , check out 'That's what I tot'.... tots topped w avocado, eggs, and your choice of protein (for added $). So yummy, will definitely be back here!! Thanks for the drink recommendation, Francesca! pistachio caramel was amazing... Will definitely be back!

This is such a cute place. The owners did an excellent job when designing this place, right down to every detail. I've been a couple times and brought different sets of friends - everyone has loved it. The food is good. My only suggestion would be to turn down the really bright lighting a bit to go with the already awesome vibe this place has. The last time we went around 6 pm, it felt like we had spotlights on us. I assume it was just forgotten that one particular night to turn the lights down so no big deal. We will be back! This place is a gem to have in Acton.

Our food arrived cold and the only thing good about it was this cute little gnome on the plate.

It's quintessencial central Mass. bistro dining, where the waitress is the bartender, the maitre d' is the owner, the empire and mid century china is mismatched but matches the food that is presented on the dishes, and where that food is delicious. Many, but not all, items on the menu are gf, several are vegetarian, and one main and one dessert are vegan. We tried the well-balanced "Red Skies at Night" cocktail and would have it again. We also tried some of the new dishes that are rotating through the menu. The gf seasonal watermelon and feta salad is a particularly savory example of this summer favorite. Crab salad with avocado, hard-boiled egg, and real remoulade sauce, was a nice interpretation (served on a period luncheon plate). The main course artichoke spinach cheesecake was outstanding. Among the desserts, the gf chocolate mousse, which was served in an old-fashioned metal sundae dish and garnished with a fresh violet and real whipped cream, was rich and delicious. We will be back.

We expressed disappointment, but they then checked with the Kitchen staff and said sure if you order right away we would be happy to serve you. We were thrilled! We ordered drinks and had food, and it was all wonderful. We loved the speakeasy, vibe, the custom cocktails, and the impressive and carefully curated alcohol options at the bar. The service was wonderful and friendly. We thought, oh great, this is going to be our go to place in town, we'll be here frequently! Our next visit was completely different. I called ahead of time to check on availability, mention that we prefer to sit at the bar, and confirm that they do not take reservations at the bar, but that there were tables available. So we had it in. When we arrived, we clearly saw at least four open seats at the bar. But we were informed that those seats were reserved. I mentioned that I had just called to confirm that there were seats available and confirmed that bar seats could not be reserved. Well, that was perplexing. And there was no genuine apology, no mention that they might be sorry about the confusion, let us see what we can do... Ultimately, the hostess, did checked with some folks and found that there was a table that we could have. So we sat down for our meal. The service this night was decidedly different, and we couldn't help feeling like we'd forced our way into a private club that we really weren't welcomed at. That was a few months ago, and we haven't been back since.

But what brings up my rating and gets me coming back (5 times and counting) is the variety, including more traditional Mexican dishes than the standard Tex-Mex, the very good drinks, the ambience, and great service. On my first visit the first thing I noticed is the "Luna" branding. The name and logo are on everything: the plates, the waiters' aprons, moon stencils on the chair backs, and more. This doesn't detract from the overall look and feel of the place, elegant but not stuffy. One more "luna" allusion: instead of chips with salsa they serve a large round crispy flat bread, presented vertically and obviously meant to suggest a full moon. Many people would probably prefer chips but that's a Tex-Mex thing so this is actually more authentic. And you won't fill up as easily munching on broken-off pieces of the "moon bread" as you would tortilla chips. The taco entree is 3 tacos, several varieties available, served with refried beans. I've had the chorizo and the Al Pastor. Mix and match not allowed unfortunately. They are both ok, and the tortillas are I believe made in house. The chorizo spicing was unimpressive. My chief "complaint" if that's the right word, is they are too simple: just the protein, some chopped onions, and cilantro. In my memory of great tacos I've had in the past there are a multitude of flavors and ingredients: onions prepared 2 or even 3 ways, sautéed and raw peppers, fresh avocado slices, etc. None of that here. Specialty sauces aren't offered by default but are provided on request. Two were brought to my table, one red and one green, both very hot. In small bowls so I don't know if they are home-made or commercial. I like a lot of sauce and always run out so next time I'll ask for a "double portion" and we'll see how that goes. The wife has had the beef fajitas. In my opinion the meat was overly marinated, with the wrong consistency and a flavor I don't expect in a fajita. And the vegetables were cooked with the meat so their flavor was muted. I'd pass on that. The Pollo Mole Poblano (chicken mole) was decent but there wasn't enough sauce. As was the enchiladas 3 ways (one each with chicken, beef, and cheese). Most entrees are served with a side of rice and refried beans, the latter served in a small fried tortilla cup. Portion sizes are reasonable. On the traditional Mexican side I've tried two meat-heavy entrees: Borrego Matitito's (marinated lamb shank with chili pepper sauce), and Chamorro's (a similar dish but made from pork shank, and different seasonings). I liked both but preferred the lamb, and the portion was larger too: enough for two meals. In the appetizer section I've had Pulpo Rasurado (octopus in salsa negra with red onions, cucumber, avocado, and radishes). A beautiful presentation and perfectly prepared (octopus can be tough and this was not). Also the Oysters Rockerfeller (not Mexican, I know). This could have been great but unfortunately was under-grilled so the cheese wasn't browned and bubbling. The table-side finishing treatment by the waiter with his hand torch wasn't enough either. Maybe he got impatient or maybe the butane was running out. I'd try it again though; it might have been an anomaly. Both these appetizer portions were huge, almost enough for a meal in itself. All the cocktails I've tried (several mescal concoctions and margaritas) have been tasty and seemed to have adequate alcohol content. Their gimmick here is all cocktails arrive bubbling and steaming like a witch's brew. I think it's from dry ice? That doesn't change the taste but may help to keep them cold and it's fun to watch. I've seen this before but usually it's reserved for one or two of the high-end specialties, not every cocktail. Nevertheless, the prices are in the normal range for cocktails these days, not excessive by that standard. Service has always been friendly and flawless. Desserts: We've tried two: The Pan de Elote is a cornbread cake served with ice cream and sauce, flambéed by the waiter at the table. And the churros: fried dough sticks covered with cinnamon, stuffed like cannoli, served with two sauces for dipping (chocolate and caramel), and served in a whimsical wheeled contraption resembling a food cart in miniature. The Pan de Elote is my favorite of the two but the churros were good too and the portion size was enormous! So until I can get back to Florida for some truly great Mexican I'm grateful to have Luna as an option.

Chef gave us his recommendations and they were has delicious as he hyped them up to be. Then we tried the lobster guacamole, which the star of the shows was actually the bacon lardon that's layered in. A must try for anyone who loves this dip. I had the pineapple braised pulled pork tacos. I could barely finish two, yet alone the 3 healthy sized tacos. And my girlfriend was treated to both the crab cake and the specialty salmon cakes. She proclaimed the salmon the winner of that cake battle. For desert, which we didn't finish either, was the berry cobbler. I compared it to an oversized toaster strudel, but homemade and much more flavorful. Overall, we love it here. This is our 2nd trip and we'll be sure to come again soon!
