The Nashoba Alpine Ski Beach and Tiki Lodge is quite the Massachusetts adventure. Only Massachusetts would attempt to call something tiki on a small lake fenced off with plastic that normally functions as the end of a ski run. I like to give 5 stars where I can but I do have to agree with 1 of the most common complaints in these reviews: No frozen drinks. I've been to where Tiki drinks started and deciding on or around May 2024 to no longer offer frozen drinks at a "tiki" bar is insane. Either take the label off or buy a blender. Two options costing this establishment just $20 while saving it years of embarrassment and 1 star Yelp reviews. Other than that I had a great time. Nachos were fine, and the salsa was kind of fun, very thick, very dippable. Maybe extra tomato paste? Though it was certainly New England mild. Ham and pineapple pizza was yummy and thematic here at the end of the blue square ski trail #2. Yes there are children here so if that's enough for you to give a 1 star review, go somewhere else. Yes for some reason the wait staff are mostly 19 year old girls which seriously angered a man in the reviews I read. K. Yes a drink is $16, a beer $13 and a pizza $30. The sunset tiki bar is right outside Nashoba ski area along a great pond where people are swimming. Tonight was my wife and I first time we had a great time.. we met some really great people and we had a pizza along with some drinks, dancing and had a great night! Lots of fun on a nice comfortable summer day or evening. I feel like I'm on a weekend excursion but only a 5 minute drive from home. There a few areas to choose where You can hang out at the beach and stick your toes in the sand or take a dip in the pond, chill under the tiki bar, or sit around the patio on high top tables or regular tables which surrounds the stage. You can enjoy a few cocktails and lunch or dinner and when the sun sets you can enjoy watching different types of bands and music until closing . Food is great and drinks are even better. Say what you may, but having an outdoor tiki bar with live music isn't common in New England - but it works! It's a must visit place in Westford (like Kimballs) - atmosphere and ample room, make the venue comfortable/relaxing. Ah, I wanted this place to work but alas, the first visit does not make me want to come back. I came with my wife, kids and family. We asked to be seated on the patio, and were seated at two tables in full sun. We asked to love to the shade, but we were then moved to the beach. They wanted the server to keep us as a table, but she hadn't served us yet. We were sat amongst a bunch of unnacompanied minors running through the sand. Very very far from the servers original station. Our table was dirty, sticky, and unbussed. We asked for it to be wiped and it was laughably wiped. I had to do it myself with baby wipes. On to dinner... talk about over priced! $39 for lobster rolls. $40 for steak tips. We got queso as an app, $14 for a tiny cup. I went for the carnitas tacos for my meal ($19). They were cold and didn't taste very great. I didn't even want to order a drink at this point. But that's all this place is about. Adults drink while kids run around on the beach. Service was lacklustre all around. We waited 30+ minutes to close out after we had asked for a to go box for one of the kids meals. If we just got sat where we asked it might have been a good night but... probably the first and only visit. I would only ever come here again for drinks with the lady. Fun atmosphere, but no bargain. We went for a birthday celebration. They had a very fun drink selection that my group enjoyed. The live music and being outdoors on a beautiful night was wonderful! The Nachos were generous and very good. The 5 of us didn't finish an order (but we did have meals coming). No one had complaints about their food, but it wasn't fantastic either. Our server was excellent. The activities were busy, so we didn't get to play any games. It's nice they had them. I do wish they had real bathrooms. Porto-potty's were clean enough though. While walking in tonight I tripped and fell over the rubber speed bump they have going across the parking lot. I was observed falling by staff members who did not come to help me or see if I was ok. I hit my wrist, shoulder arm and knee. Also ripped my new white jeans. I fell pretty hard. When I reached the check in station we were told I wasn't the only person to fall and asked if I was ok. I had a visible mark on my wrist , shoulder and my knee was bleeding. No one offered to have anyone check me out , no incident report taken , didn't even ask my name but I was offered a band aid. We were taken to a table. The waitress came over and took out order, food came out in a timely fashion. Waitress checked to see how food was and then we did not see her again. No one ever came to follow up on my fall . We managed to ask the waitress for our check as I wanted to leave my knee was burning , and wrist and shoulder were in pain . We sat and watched the waitress with her back to stand and talk to a patron with a drink for forty minutes with a male guest I was with went over and asked her for our check. She brought it finally and then we waited again for her to come back for it . Very disappointed in their lack of concern for my fall and injuries and the poor service by the waitress. We had a reservation and still we were seated way in back off to the side at a picnic table after we followed a hostess around looking for an empty table and there were none. They say there is a two hour time limit on the table but that is clearly not enforced. We did not see any tables turn over the whole 2.5 hours we were there. The band was good. Food a bit too expensive $20 for a burger which had a very thin slice of tomato, small piece of lettuce and what was supposed to be potato salad ( three pieces of red potato in a small paper cup with very little seasoning) . read more

Be aware of the management of Sunset Tiki-bar at Westford. I made a reservation for 6 people for August 11 at 6:30Pm on July 27 2023, and I got their confirmation. On 8/11/23, they sent me two emails confirmation said that my reservation had changed to 12 people, other email said my reservation changed to 16 people. I didn't change my reservation. The management of Tiki-bar changed my reservation. The reason why the management of Tiki-bar changed my reservation, because if my reservation is for more than 10 people, then they will sit us at the picnic table on the sand. I think perhaps because I am an Asian and female, so they didn't think that I would complaint. I didn't think they treated me right. I was excited to try this place based on their website for a fun outdoor restaurant on a lake. I made a reservation 3 days ahead and went last night. My experience was terrible, probably the worst place I have ever been to. I walked up to the hostess and said I had a reservation for 7:30. She acknowledged she heard me, said nothing and turned her back and proceeded to talk to her coworker for 5min. She seemed overwhelmed and didn't know what she was doing. Another woman came over and I said again I have a reservation and she said the only place we have open is a picnic table in the corner, the patio is full, where there was a band playing. I said I guess there was no point in making a reservation and she said "the reservation doesn't dictate where you sit." Ok fine, so we took the picnic table. Took 15min and us asking a busboy for our waiters to come over and take our drink order. I got the "award winning" sangria and my boyfriend got a Mai Tai and we ordered chips and queso. 15min later we got our drinks and chips. My sangria just tasted like red wine and orange juice and my boyfriend's Mai Tai was pink and tasted like burnt rubber and chlorine.Each were in a plastic cup and cost $15 each. The chips were stale and the queso had a thick film on top like they just popped it in the microwave. We flagged down our waitress and said we don't want our drinks because they are horrible and we will just pay for the chips (we were being nice), and asked for the bill. 15min later she comes back and almost threw the bill on the table. Been there many times. Nice outdoors location. Good beer, good food even though it's a little on the expensive side. Still ok. They've got a live band every night. Very nice! A few weeks we had a company outing there, all you can drink and more than you can eat. It was amazing. Food was delicious, waitresses were very friendly and upbeat. Great great location for a company outing. Everyone had a really good time!! Mosquitoes ? After all, it's close to a pond, and a forest? Went with a friend to check it out because the concept seemed pretty fun. Has good potential but execution falls short. Drinks were weak and overpriced for the cup of ice with a splash of sangria. The set up of the bar was confusing, lines on either end, bartenders all over the place, totally unorganized. This made it difficult to make an order, tip the right person, etc. There were lots of empty tables all over (on sand and under tents) but we were told there was a waitlist. People were dragging chairs from the seating area in the sand to various locations. There seemed to be a ton of staff but not many tending to the tables or bar or host station. We are restaurant people eating out 7 days a week. We are from Fl. And love tiki bars. Sunset sounded great so we gave it a try. Never have we been more disappointed. The girl at the entrance was rude. We are 71 years old and my wife was told she would not be allowed to drink because she didn't have an ID. Talk about ridiculous and she was adamant about it. Because we were there for my granddaughters birthday we sucked it up and went in. It didn't take long and the staff disappointed everyone. Their seating rules are ridiculous. They were obviously short staffed but they wouldn't allow anyone to sit at the numerous empty tables. Above all, their attitude was rude. Never again will we darken their door. This review is based on a family of 5 adults going out for a birthday dinner. Drinks - pretty sad. $12+ for mixed drinks that use cheap booze and cheap, sweet syrup. Simply awful. Food - I have heard the pizzas are good, and the chicken sandwich one of us got was OK. The signature salad was virtually all lettuce. I saw 3 strawberry pieces, maybe 6 pecan tiny pieces, probably 3 oz of chicken and a blueberry or two. It was absurdly priced at $23 with chicken. But at least the chicken was edible. The shrimp teriyaki special at $17.98 was not only insanely overpriced but it was AWFUL. 6 small-med frozen shrimp, flat and as dry as you can possibly imagine, hard, chewy and salty. That's it - no sauce, no side - oh wait, there was a small pile of shredded, limp iceberg lettuce. It was a joke. Tasteless burger. Even the Lays potato chips tasted like they were in a wet bag - soggy and no crunch. Our bill was an insane $148 for 3 mixed drinks, 2 shrimp dishes, a salad, and a chicken sandwich. It may be a great place to bring kids to play in the water, corn hole and swing set. But the food is just awful. And yet the place was packed. Never again. read more

Music was terrible...slow and depressing not upbeat and fun as would be expected at a tiki bar. My 52 year old friend was told she couldn't drink because she didn't have her ID on her. When I gave my ID they took a copy of it. Why? Very weird and an invasion of privacy. Were told off the bat whether we have reservations or not we had to get out after 2 hours at the table. May has well said "give us your money then get the hell out." The swimming also wasn't what it used to be for kids. Used to have a slide and diving board and 2 docks. Slide and one dock are gone. They won't let kids use the diving board for some reason. Lame. Good concept and used to be fun but not worth it anymore. $14 for a fruity drink served in a cheap plastic cup, $28 for a cheese pizza...to be treated like crap. It's clear they are just trying to make as much money as possible and don't care about customer service. They make it like they are doing us a favor to let us come in. But we arrived near opening with an enormous amount of seating available and were turned away saying they weren't accepting people without reservations. Some friends from out of town and I have been planning for weeks to get together and have a few drinks at the Tiki bar. Everything online lists that they're open til 11pm on Thursdays, with last call at 10pm. We arrived just before 9pm and were told that it was closed. When I mentioned the hours posted online, we were told "usually we stay open, but we're dead tonight so we're closing early". We planned and reserved a table for a birthday party and was not allowed in because 2 people in our 15 person group had duplicates. They never mentioned this to us on the phone when we made the reservation and on their website there is no mention of this. We drove 30 mins here for nothing. Wings were ok per hubby. Was not asked how well done for my son's burger, turned out medium well,which was ok for him. The potato salad and coleslaw portions were about 1/4 cup, so don't go hungry or want left overs. mixed drinks were served in solo 12 oz cups and PACKED with ice. Pretty outdoor setting on a sandy beach of a lake. Epitome of a classic beach bar complete with Tiki Hut bar! Relax on the Adirondack chairs with a drink in your hand and sand between your toes, listen to music, pull up a seat to watch the Sox games on the outside TV, play some volleyball, play cornhole, etc, etc! Great place for groups! Went here quite a few times this summer on beautiful weekday evenings for beers and entertainment only, not food. Each time the place was nicely populated and festive with a fun crowd of all ages. What a welcome addition to the area! I kept forgetting I was in Westford and not at some beach vacation bar. Nicely done! This does border a residential neighborhood, so hopefully all patrons are aware enough to be considerate and respectful regarding noise coming and going. read more

We had a party here (Not a cheap one!!) and got WAY less than we were promised. The women we booked with assured us that when the party ended at 4, we'd be able to stay until they reopened, as long as we showed IDs and got bracelets. Well, once 4 pm rolled around, the security guard started telling us we needed to get out of the area. When asked why we had to leave his response was "you don't have to leave, you can wait out in the parking lot until we reopen." It appeared they expected a party of 40+ people to wait outside in their lot for an hour and come back in - to continue to order drinks and food once they decided to let us back in.
