I also ordered a Bloody Mary and a local craft beer because I could. The Bloody was decent, not mind blowing but still tasty. Oh and I ordered a dozen oysters while I was at it. They were of the small variety but tender, clean and amazing. Prices were reasonable to the area. Definitely will be back. No photos this time, sorry.

Walking in we were seated promptly though we immediately noticed that the interior was extremely dark. Not a big deal but worth flagging for older folks who might have a hard time reading. Our server was friendly and relatively attentive and walked us through the menu. We started off with some classics including their bread and butter (which was tasty and delicious) and ordered their P.E.I Mussels ($19) along with their Fried Brussels Sprouts ($15) to share. The portions were quite large for everything (great if you're in a larger party) but we immediately noticed that the mussels they served seemed a bit off. Many of them were not opened all the way (a sign that they might not be the freshest or recently passed) and had a bit of a fishy taste to them. We ended up not finishing them and flagged them to our waiter. The other items, including the 14oz Ribeye ($43) and baby back ribs ($28) were better, though a bit one-note. The bay back ribs in particular were extremely saucy and the corn bread was dry and a bit tough to eat. I had to use a knife to split it apart as it kept crumbling every time I used a fork. Regardless, it seems like a popular spot for a reason and perhaps we just went during more of an off-night. I'd still recommend checking it out but avoiding the mussels if you go.

We chose SILVIA because the menu is vegetable forward and as a vegetarian there were several dishes I had to try. Both my omni partner and I loved the mushroom lentil pâté, stuffed artichokes, and smoked beets we had for appetizers. The pâté is rich and flavorful and the pickled veggies it's served with are so good we only wished the dish came with more of them. The artichokes were perfectly tender and are stuffed with raclette and ramp (YUM), and the lemon breadcrumbs they're topped with pair so well with the cheese, and add a lovely brightness and zing. The smoked beets were also perfectly tender with a deep rich smokey flavor, and the chimichurri they come with does a nice job to add brightness (There's a theme here of rich flavors paired with brightness to make your palette pop). For an entrée we opted to share the local mushroom & pasta rags dish. the pasta rags were cooked nicely, soft but still toothy, and the mushrooms, black garlic butter, and thyme added a rich deep flavor. I was obsessed with the amount of parmigiano reggiano the pasta was topped with -- I could've eaten plate after plate of this dish. Their cocktail menu seems to be just as well thought out as their food with some unique offerings. I tried and enjoyed both Mezcal options. Service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. That smoky wood fireplace smell We started with drinks, the guys ordered IPAs on tap...I went for the hot cider with a dash of bourbon. I found it light on the booze but I find that true most places. For an app, we shared a slice of toast topped with burrata. The thing was bigger than I thought. It was good. We decided to all order one of the specials, the short rib dinner with polenta and broccolini. Good Lord was it good. Huge short rib, delicious and tender, with a yummy Malbec Demi-glaze that was delicious. The rib sits on a big portion of polenta --seriously the best I've ever eaten. The broccolini was nice. I can see why they were running out of that dish for the night. Hubby ordered a mousse dessert that he enjoyed. I was too full to eat anymore. We were greeted at the hotel entrance and walked to the bar area in a very friendly and welcoming manner. Even though we had used the wrong door, we were not turned away. We were there for happy hour and the dining room filled up pretty quickly. Can't wait to go back for dinner.

This was my second visit to Sonder, a total gem in Kingston. Juicy and fresh, and the cornichon touch instead of pickles is perfect. Last time was the dead of winter so we were inside with the disco balls and fun table candles that are a melted concoction. It's very clean, and in the winter the walls were dark green, and this time they were light green. Because of the amazing weather we sat outside, and the waiter Remy made sure to find us a spot that was perfect for our table of two. The string lights and fans were fantastic additions, it felt transportive. We always have the best experience with the servers, and this time it was Remy who was a refreshing delight. Fresh from France, he knows the wine and helped us make the best selection. He's hilarious and real, and so fun. I love the descriptions of the wine on the menu. Give it a good read, it's very entertaining. Pair it with the burger and a glass of vino, and you're set for a great night.

Amazing flavors with those dishes as well. Then we finishes with the blood orange tartlet and sourdough sundae. The mix of flavors in the sourdough sundae was incredible.
