I realized I had mice in my basement. I went to Yelp to look for a pest control company and filled out a form for a quote from several companies. STL Pest Control was the first company to send me a quote (less than 10 minutes after I filled out the form.) I called and the person answering the phone was very helpful and was able to get me booked with an appointment quickly. Lee came by today (at the earliest part of the time frame I was given). I got a text when he was on his way with a picture of him so I knew who to expect. He was very thorough in looking for entry points into my house. He explained everything he was doing and made sure everything was safe and out of reach for my puppy. He also showed me pictures and told me what I could do to help stop the issue. After nearly dying of a heart attack from looking over and seeing the biggest spider I've ever seen sitting next to me on my couch, I frantically looked for an exterminator. I'm not generally afraid of spiders. But this was like nothing I had ever seen in person. I knew immediately I wouldn't be able to feel safe in my home unless a professional came in and took care of the situation. But let me go back to the initial meeting with this petrifying creature. When I saw the spider I screamed like someone was trying to kill me, because quite frankly, I think he was trying to kill me. Then I thought it had to be a sick joke someone was playing on me and the thing wasn't real. That's when I saw a hint of movement. I knew I had to act quick or this thing was going to crawl right into my couch and raise a family. So I flicked it off my couch with a paper towel as murderously as I could. Shaking in my boots I took a few pictures, for evidence of course. Next I stomped on it so hard to make sure that when I killed it, it died. I did this two more times. Yes, I might be ruthless but I was a victim in my own home! I scooped it up with a paper towel, sealed it in a zip lock bag, and took it outside of my house. This thing would not win against me. Back to the frantic looking of an exterminator. I found St. Louis Pest Control and since I was already late getting back to work, sent them an email. Within 5 minutes I had a response with pricing information. I asked if there was any way I could get an appointment for the afternoon. Rick said he would do everything he could to work me in and was there 20 minutes after I got home from work! All of this service was AMAZING! So quick and efficient! When he arrived to my home, I showed him the spider and he even commented on how huge and scary it was! He began spraying and talked to my husband the entire time. I actually really appreciated this because I felt like he was trying to get to know us and letting my husband lead him through our house instead of walking through and spraying himself. He did the inside and outside of the house and was done within 15 minutes! It was very affordable and Rick gave us a military discount! (my husband is a veteran). They guarantee their work and it's been a week and so far no complaints! Everything they use is Eco-Friendly so it was safe for my pup. I can not say enough good about my experience with STL Pest Control. I sent an email and was surprised to get a call back within minutes. The woman on the phone was extremely knowledgable. They scheduled someone to be at our house the NEXT day and at a time that did not conflict with our work schedules. Rick, the owner, was at our house until 8pm. He was in our crawl space (in January!) a majority of the time. He came back the next day to set out bait stations. He was so thorough and helpful. Over the weekend, I initially reached out on Yelp for an estimate but didn't hear back. I had to call several times over a couple days before I talked to a live person - I believe it's because they had written down my phone number incorrectly. Annoying, but I still needed help with a bed bug problem. I was able to schedule a technician to come out the next day. The worker inspected the rooms that my kid thought were affected and he treated them quickly and told my kid what additional things they needed to do to prevent reinfestation. My kid was fairly freaked out about having bed bugs, was bit up a little, but was told it was a relatively minor infestation. A follow-up visit was scheduled and that visit included treating the same areas, even though there weren't any additional bugs found nor bites experienced. There were three bedrooms that were treated and hopefully all will continue to go well. So far, so good.Very appreciative of the quick appointment. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. I waited ALL DAY for them to show. I wanted to get in the pool, but didn't because they were supposed to come. I finally called them around 4:15 and left a message. Got a call back and was told that they accidentally put my appointment in AUGUST. Fine, mistakes happen, but this is the SECOND TIME they did this to me. A couple of years ago, they never showed up and had the same excuse. They talked me into letting them come back with a discount. This time they offered a discount again. NOPE. I think they OWE me. We sent out a few different messages to a handful of companies and they were the first to respond so we went with them. We wanted to get a pre bug season spray at a new house we just bought. The owner called when he was about a half hour out which was nice . When he got here it only took him about twenty mins to do both floors, basement , outside and garage . I love Stl Pest Control and have regular services with them. I called them initially because we had these enormous wolf spiders (and one nearly dropped on my head). I called around a lot and they were significantly cheaper. Rick is so nice and super friendly. Their product is pet friendly- I just have to get the dog beds/bowls/toys up off the floor until everything dries. As he sprays he inspects and let's me know there's no evidence of termites. He's open to answering questions. We back up to an overgrown area so we get some suspect creatures at times. Now at least when they get in, I find them dead later. read more

NEVER EVER USE THEM FOR BED BUGS! They tell you they are cheaper send someone out right away but then you are still stuck buying the covers for each bed and box springs. They do not guarantee their work AT ALL, if they come back for a follow up it's a charge each time. Orkin will guarantee their work, provide the covers for each bed all included. They sound a little pricey but after all the bed covers and their "follow up" visits that they don't tell you about, it is well worth spending a little more. It was most definitely this company he just didn't recognize me because my yelp account is under my middle name. I personally talked to Rick myself when this happened along with my fiancé so I do have the correct business. read more

I saw evidence one evening of mice and I called them the next morning. They sent Scott that same day and he set up poison blocks (the nice eat the blocks and die) around the entrances, sealed holes and put mouse traps inside. He stopped by to check the blocks he left outside and the mouse traps since he was in the area. 2.5 out of the 4 blocks inside the box near my door were eaten!! He was so nice and knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable to know our mice problem was no more. Thanks guys!! read more

Called them because of a recommendation from a friend. We had some live crickets in our bathtubs and basements. Scheduled an appointment a few weeks later. Guy who came to our house was very nice, explained things well, thorough and courteous. Said he removed a hornet nest from our front archway and sprayed down some mole holes. Suggested we tell our HOA about it since they don't typically do outside, only near the house. He sprayed down the drain holes in the tubs and when I asked about spiders, said that since our house was new, it was unlikely we would have them. He said in particular, brown recluses like old damp spaces and our basement seemed dry. After he left, we started noticing more and more crickets in the basement. Our contractor who is building our deck tells us that we need to call pest control because he has killed 30 brown recluses on the side of the house where he puts the materials. He and I both notice hundreds, and I mean hundreds, of crickets crawling around in the grass on the side of the house, up the foundation. More crickets than blades of grass! Called them today and spoke to a younger woman who tells me the following: We don't spray the grass, we don't spray the siding, we don't do decks. I explain that they are on the perimeter of the house and we didn't have a deck back then and that is not where the problem is. She says that all the bugs are running inside because it's cold outside, that's why we have more crickets than before and it has nothing to do with them. She says they only provide a 30 day guarantee. I tell her I am confused about what pest control means if they spray and now there are MORE bugs than before. She tells me that she will give my name and number to her supervisor who can explain it better to me. Then she says "bye" and hangs up. I call back to give her my name and number and she doesn't answer. I left a message. SCAMMERS. When I called another pest control company they laughed at what this place told me. Fool me once STL Pest Control...never again. I hope they never fool anyone else! read more
