I never do this: I received an oil delivery yesterday of 198.4 gallons of oil. The total 801.4 gallons, that comes to 4.04 per gallon which prompted me to check prices in my area. I went to newenglandoil.com and found that Stocker Fuel, on average is $.50 more per gallon. Please do your research. read more

Here is the problem with this company. They make you agree to auto delivery oil in order to get the 5 year warranty on their installed boilers. They have some of the most expensive oil prices around by seventy five cents to a dollar per gallon higher than most other companies when I do a quick google search of oil prices. They get customers to pay the inflated price by only giving you a 5 year warranty on systems you purchase from them if you sign up for auto oil delivery. Then they dont list the price of oil for said deliveries on their site (you have to call to get a price before they deliver). if you ask for the price of oil before delivery or question why they charge so much more, they give you awful customer service. In my opinion this is wrong and a poor business tactic. They know they are over pricing their oil and most customers don't shop the price. I highly suggest people consider how much extra they will spend on the oil deliveries before doing any business with this company. You will be spending hundreds to thousands more per year on oil with them. It's too bad they do this practice. it should also be noted that they are no longer locally owned, they are now owned by a big corporate oil company that kept the name. read more

Service was a nightmare from the outset. First mechanic sent over was an absolute idiot who seemed intoxicated or perhaps just stupid. While working on my boiler there was an incredibly loud noise. Said he dropped a tool. Later during cleaning a 1 cent screw was taken off boiler exhaust & placed above on flat part of boiler. The screw was never replaced & exhaust pipe slipped (2" gap) & carbon monoxide came into my house for months. Fire department & police came once Nobody could figure out what was going on so figured it was chimney needing a insert. Stocker insisted my boiler required a 7" insert (wrong 6 " would have worked & gone in like butter). Nightmare getting it in and cost $3000 plus. After all that a chimney company owner checked the boiler and found the gap in exhaust and the screw placed above on shelf in boiler. Both the idiot & service manager no longer there so when my new oil company merged with Stocker took a shot and briefly transferred back. Assumed on 30 day payment standard schedule but it was 15 & on one of several payments I paid on 17 or 18th day. Got a letter freezing my account sane day my electronic check arrived. My credit rating averages 820-830. No phone call or any notification of their 15 day policy. I left for second time & my advice is to run as far away from this outfit as you can. I would rather put a cigarette out on my eye then deal with them again. read more

I had been ordering my own oil by "will call" for years every since my original oil provider closed shop as I could never find a good provider. Recently heard about Stocker....well worth the wait! So far excllent service and great professional and pleasant office staff! Recently had my burner tuned ... they came within 2 days of my request...and it was'nt an emergency...other companies said I would need to wait until next year? By far the most professional and knowledgeable company in the business. My home oil burner was set up wrong by the original installation company. Stocker oil researched the issue directly from the manufacturer. They found a misprint in the manuals that has now been corrected. On the Honeywell 'find a pro installer' site - which is terribly organized, btw - there were 7+ pages of pros. Where to start? I began reconciling pros with Yelp* and soon came across Stocker Oil. I noticed the perfect batting average (all reviews had 5-stars) and after reading through each of them decided to give them a call. The receptionist took the time to fully/completely understand my issue, and then transferred me to the correct department. After recapping my previous conversation, they agreed to send someone out in the next few days. Further, the Service Manager took time to answer each of my follow-up/ancillary questions, regardless of the extra time expended on his part. The pro arrived on time, was courteous, professional, and polite and went about his business. Before I knew it, the installation was complete and we were told we would be invoiced once we were assured that the install was successful. After a week went by with zero issues, we called and requested the invoice. It arrived in my inbox a few minutes later. All around a fantastic experience. If I could give no stars, I would. The customer service is abominable. Pray that you don't need them for an on-call job, to repair something they installed. You will get the run around, and in the end, no help, on a unit that is still under warranty. This company is absolutely terrific. Yesterday Jimmy, Brad, Adam and Lonnie removed my old boiler and water heater and installed a new Bosch boiler and Super Stor water heater. We have been using this Oil company for two years now and their customer service truly is exceptional. Our water heater was having issues and they came out to check it out. It was no longer usable. They not only discovered that it was still under warranty, but they actually went to pick up our new one from the store (which saved us on delivery costs) and installed it and discarded the old one - all within two days! I am very disappointed with this company. After being a customer of a different oil company for over 25 years they sold their business to Stocker. From the very beginning there was no communication. We had a credit transferred from the old company and when they made a delivery I never got an updated statement showing transactions. Not to mention we were on automatic delivery and the delivery they made was literally almost a full tank when we normally had auto delivery around half. I finally had to call to get the information and found them to be unfriendly. Then when we owed them a payment they seriously sent out generic emails like 3 within a week. No attempt to call or communicate. I then responded with my own generic email. Still no acknowledgement. Very disappointed and have found another company to do business with. read more

I did quite a bit of research and read lots of reviews on several different oil companies before choosing Stocker Oil at the end of March, 2017. I chose Stocker based on excellent reviews and personal recommendations from other customers. I am confident I made the right choice after having my 1st service done (annual cleaning). The technician was professional, thorough and answered all my many questions with enthusiasm. He was also extremely neat and clean and after he left, there wasn't a spec of dirt on the floor or anywhere else. I was also surprised at how long he took cleaning my furnace and changing out all filters, nozzles etc. , as my former Oil company was in and out in 10-15 minutes every year for the exact same cleaning! I love the fact it is a family owned business and you speak to a member of the family - further proof to me they value their reputation. I hope to be a happy customer for many years to come!
