Checked out this dive bar in Batavia. It seems to mostly get locals, but there's a few outsiders that come in. JT's is a bar that has basic drinks and food, all you need from one of these places. Has okay prices but not incredibly cheap. The food is pretty basic, with things such as burgers, or the chips and salsa. Best local dive bar around here. It's got a pretty good supply of beers and liquors. That's really all one needs from this place. Clean inside. It's about $8 for whiskey. Also the food. People have to eat too. It's about $5 to get chips and salsa, and add guacamole for a few bucks more. The chips are enough for a few people. Got to say it's better than it looks, of which it's not actually bad. It's owned by the same group that owns places in Carol Stream and Lombard. There's a gaming area with a few slots, and plenty of TVs for watching sports and other things. read more

Only tried once....and was disappointed in the "big remodel" of a long time bar. The "bar" is big and original...nothing wrong there. The rest of the tables and stools are supposedly all new...but seemed "refurbished" to me but maybe wrong. Not even a cool vibe ‍. Good left a lot to be desired. Came to try a burger but couldn't resist "Taco Tuesday" and although it's been a few months ago...I should have tried the burger. First time here since the metamorphosis....that is from the "old Moon" to this wonderful transformation. I won't dwell on the "sticky, shit hole...." that used to occupy this haunt. Anywho, must say we're very impressed with how they re-did or repaired the beautiful bar woodwork, new tables/chairs, flooring (you won't 'stick' to the floor), very nice warm vibe. Our server was spot on, wish I remembered her name but she was great! We both ordered the Walleye sandwich, very VERY tasty, nice and sweet, fresh fish with a perfect breading. We had fantastic burgers. Really well seasoned and hot off the grill. Fries are salty and crunchy. Yum! The service was very good and our waitress and the bartender were very friendly. There are not a lot of tables but I good sized bar. Pretty decent beer menu. No cocktail menu but the bar was well stocked. I was with other people who have been three times since the recent opening and they said everything has been very consistent. read more

Place is amazing!!! It's super clean, the wings are amazing! Both the bone in and boneless. Have tried multiple flavors and haven't gotten a bad flavor yet. Fries are okay. Love the ranch dressing too, it's good. Service is also amazing! Had a different waitress each time we've gone and they've so nice and friendly. They've been very attentive too which is a plus even when it was kinda busy. She recommended a good IPA that was on tap. read more

Ok, I live in Wheaton and frequent JT's in Carol Stream and Lombard often. I thought lets try Batavia....food is good, staff before 5p good. Whomever the bartender, waitress tonight is forget about me ever coming back! Wow, screaming at me for wanting to split a check, complete meltdown to the point people around the bar was commenting as well as the group of people I was with. I am a server and completely understand if one is overwhelmed but BUT to be treated as I was....NEVER will I go to Batavia again. Change staff, pay attention....this is NOT ok. read more

The food here is fantastic! They have specials everyday of the week, not only on food but drinks as well. They also give back to the community by giving a portion of sales to different organizations, which is super. The service is spot on, would not change anything. If you haven't been there yet make it a priority to try them out for lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed I promise you. read more

Went for lunch one day. Typical bar tavern but had really good food. I had a shrimp basket and my wife had a burger. Both very good. Pleasantly surprised. Prices offered good value. Menu had a lot of variety. I am planning to go back for the wings soon. Glad we flu found this place. People were very nice and engaging. read more
