It's not hard to find, but it's not near anything. It's worth the trip, though.
A little over an hour out of Billings along what seems like a desolate stretch of state highway is the tiny community of Rapelji in which there is the best little café.
It's a café, but also part library, community center, and general town hall. The walls are decorated with local memorabilia and even a map on which visitors can mark their home. There are markers from all over the US.
There is a regular menu you can order from at any time, but on certain days is a special that includes sides and a dessert. It's a bargain. While the special on the day I visited was very carb-heavy, it didn't stop me from enjoying it and given the generous portions, it was a special treat. If everything on the menu is as good as this, then no one will leave hungry (except perhaps for teenagers) and a nap will probably be in order. read more
