Good location. Great service. Excellent food. Fun ambience. Good for dates, parties, and festive bar seating . It gets very busy, I recommend making reservations. A definitely a must try when in town.

One of our favorite places in Idaho Falls, Stockman's Restaurant presents a stable, consistent, comfortable, place for a wide selection of well-thought out and prepared dishes, ranging from mussels or ahi salad, to grilled steak. There is a decent little bar to boot, the main tender of which knows his trade. The ambiance is split between the two halves of the building: a cozy dinning room of booths and tables, and a more open bar space with summer patio. We prefer the bar area, ask for it and are often able to dine there, sometimes at the bar when alone, chatting with the bartender about cocktails, beer and liquors. Stockman's is popular for large groups having dinner together and can get noisy on Friday or Saturday evenings. Weekday lunch will often see small professional teams from the local offices talking over the day. Table service can vary in quality but the kitchen and bar don't.

Would this be good for a valentines dinner and formal dress?

It's a nice restaurant, and you could wear formal wear. (Most people are in jeans/work clothes from what I have observed on my visits ) But it is a good date spot. For a more formal location, I would recommend Jakers, The Cellar or Sandpiper though.… Read more

The food was good, but it was not worth the experience. If we knew it would take so long we would have gone somewhere else. The outside seating is comprised of patio tables and chairs lining the exterior of the restaurant. It was nice at first, but there's a bee that likes to fly around which even the server was familiar with. We did outdoor seating and getting there at sunset we were sitting there in the dark with barely any light by the time our food arrived (almost two hours to get all our food for a party of four - 4 entrees and 2 appetizers total). The service was friendly but it was awkward seeing some people getting served even when they were seated after us. I loved the chicken wellington and would say that is the most unique dish at their restaurant. The food is overall good quality but this restaurant is probably better catered for pairs who are looking to celebrate a special event together. Indoor seating preferred over Outdoor seating.

We started with the shrimp appetizer, which we loved--the flavors were spot on, and the texture was perfect. The blackberry mojito was refreshing and well-balanced. My sister and I ordered the steak, while my other sister ordered the salmon. Both dishes were cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were also delicious. Every item we ordered came out promptly and was clearly prepared with care. It's evident that the staff and chef take great pride in the food and drinks they serve.

April 2026 Idaho Falls, Idaho…read more I was surprised to see this place is attached to a hotel when I drove up. Typically I do not eat at restaurants that are attached to a hotel. However, Yelp told me it was a 4.3 star place to eat. I asked if they had any nonalcoholic beers. The waiter brings me a can of beer to show me what it is. When I tell him that I will have it. He says well I'll just take it back and put it in a glass. So they bring me a 16 ounce glass with the beer poured in and it only filled 12 ounces. I ordered the Nacho Mama's Dip. It is a chicken nacho dip. The waiter told me it was a large portion so I am eating that just as my meal. My husband ordered the fish and chips. When you walk in the front door, the bar is right there. Pretty large bar for one to sit and enjoy a drink or a meal. To the right our booths and high tables that line the wall as well as some booths in the middle of the restaurant that make you feel like you are sitting under a gazebo. There are tables and booths on the far wall as well. The tables are cut to appear like a live edge wood top table. The booths sit too low and the table sits high. Even my husband who is 6'2 felt an imbalance with the table to chair. My nachos come out and the cheese sauce is dripping off the side of the dish. It is an absolute mess. The nacho chips are off to the side. The toppings consist of black olives and onions with four pieces of diced tomatoes. Accompanied by a side plastic dish is salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The guacamole is definitely not homemade. My biggest complaint is the cheese sauce is definitely from a can. The cheese that they did put on the nachos was a slice of cheese that was not even melted. See picture. Reminds me that I am eating in a restaurant attached to a hotel. There are no beans. The chicken is mixed in with the cheese sauce. And it is sparingly there. This dish is absolutely disgusting! The fish and chips were terrible. They're served in a basket with four pieces of fish and they sit upon fresh cut fries. The fish was not good. The batter has a odd taste. Perhaps the oil it is fried in? I think I would've been better off going to Culver's and having their fish platter. Although my beYr was in a can, it was very cold. It was truly the best part of my meal. I am so disappointed that yelp led me to this place. This is my warning to others. Stay away. We had two completely different meals and neither of them were good.

Nice bonus when you walk in of heaters over benches if you have to wait! Place was packed and lots of smiling faces. Everyone working there was pleasant and said hello or goodbye with a smile. Our server was awesome throughout and made the experience top notch. What brought us in was noting the local sourced ingredients and reasonable prices on the menu. Both were true and did not disappoint. Beef is local along with the chicken. 3 of us got burgers and one a salmon skillet. The burgers are all waygu. Mine had a great beefy taste and was well seasoned. The burger can stand out on its own. My rattlesnake had guacamole, jalepeno, pepper jack cheese and bun sauce. Very tasty! Waffle fries were very good and the fry sauce was yummy. First time having fry sauce and I am hooked. Everyone else loved their burgers. Salmon was good. Loved the drop peppers in the dish! Definitely recommend this place whether a one time stop while in town or a local.

That made us a little nervous, but also so excited . Once inside that nervousness is quickly replaced by friendly people. You can immediately feel that it's a real local favorite. Everybody's eyes are on you when you enter, but that is definitely not to make you uncomfortable. They are smiling and welcoming. You're offered boisterous warm greetings, with that welcome home feel. With stools at the counter, some very big tables and chairs sitting off to the left for big parties to sit at, and booths for the typical size party, the seating was perfectly spaced and comfortable. It truly allowed for tables of regulars to intermingle. It was definitely rustic, folksy and the people were all friendly regulars like they were co-owners. The artwork on the wall was just so--cow hand and ranch family murals. I truly expected John Wayne any moment to come drawling in and tell me, "I think you need to sit down, partner." We chose a booth, sat down, and were greeted quickly by the most humble and sweet young lady who was our--No, THE server approaching us very quickly to take our drink order, and explain the small menu to us. Yes the menu was very basic. A rainbow of colorful chalk writing garnished in an invented style, a board displayed behind the counter, which consists of an evolving menu of fresh made dessert type foods that weren't on the menu --the menu lived. The small basic menu was one page--That was it. Having mostly the basics to choose from, I chose a nice sausage patty, and three scrambled eggs with cheese and onions. We were half expecting half effort food--boy were we wrong. I also couldn't help myself I had to order one of these fresh made goods displayed on that board. Knowing that it was a side to my already ordered dish, I asked my server. "How big is a slice of banana cream pie, is it a good side." Lol..." Yeah it's not that big" well I should have known by the Texas feel of the local little diner. When the cream pie came out I could have eaten it for both breakfast and lunch and been plenty full lol. It occupied my every thought, with fresh bananas and cream, a smothering of whipped cream over the top, and a perfect semi-sweet crumbly crust, I devoured it quickly! The fresh cracked eggs, not overly greasy from frying up on an overworked grill, and the flavorful sausage combined with what seemed to be hand grated potato hash browns, mixed with onions cheese and spices. This was a classic downhome cooked meal. It was easy to tell why the place was filling up with customers quickly. It didn't get too crowded, but the patrons definitely tripled by the time we were finished with our meal. The server was friendly and handled all of the orders expertly, and lol, her little boy brought the dishes out to the table for you. It started to feel more like eating at a B&B. And the food is amazing--you have to go here. That board that I was telling you about, more fresh made foods were being written on the board while we were eating --the menu lived. This was an amazing experience, with rustic artwork all over the walls, friendly people willing to scoot over so that we can take pictures. We will definitely be back here. When you're in Idaho Falls, or even if you live here, take a 3 minute trip up 20 to visit this wonderful diner. I promise you won't regret it. I was having a little bit of a hard time time coming up with this review because I definitely wanted to make this a John Wayne movie lol.
