I did make the mistake of calling and asking for good seating since we had never been there before. They then sat us by the bathroom and our poor server was waiting on the outside tables and us by the bathroom. My bad..but still good service and the food....mmm. We ordered the garlic sautéed shrimp and baked Brie. Put those two things on the little toasties and AMAZING! You wouldn't think but it was so good. You get a homemade roll and a great salad with your dinner. I had a pan seared ribeye and the hubs ordered butternut squash. We shared both. It's the perfect blend ribeye with the squash. Must try! Both are also great separately. Very reasonably priced!

The food was good, but it was not worth the experience. If we knew it would take so long we would have gone somewhere else. The outside seating is comprised of patio tables and chairs lining the exterior of the restaurant. It was nice at first, but there's a bee that likes to fly around which even the server was familiar with. We did outdoor seating and getting there at sunset we were sitting there in the dark with barely any light by the time our food arrived (almost two hours to get all our food for a party of four - 4 entrees and 2 appetizers total). The service was friendly but it was awkward seeing some people getting served even when they were seated after us. I loved the chicken wellington and would say that is the most unique dish at their restaurant. The food is overall good quality but this restaurant is probably better catered for pairs who are looking to celebrate a special event together. Indoor seating preferred over Outdoor seating.

Famously known for their prime rib, French dip sandwiches, and the legendary Jaker's Baker, no trip…read moreto Idaho Falls is complete without stopping at Jakers. It's the perfect spot for hearty, traditional Midwestern comfort food. After all, how can you visit Potato Country without enjoying at least one perfectly baked potato? A little fun (and mostly useless) fact: Potatoes are typically harvested once a year in the fall and stored in underground bunkers. The ones you usually buy in stores are often nearly a year old. And if a potato starts to sprout? It simply becomes part of the next season's crop. The moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a time machine. The interior is warm and cozy, with darker tones, rich red accents, wood-paneled walls, and glass partitions. There's even a mud room and a coat rack ready for those chilly Idaho winter nights. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. Our server introduced herself right away and took our drink orders with a smile. I went with the Ultimate Philly--tender, well-done strips of their famous prime rib, grilled onions and peppers, all smothered in a rich cheese sauce. It came with a side of au jus for dipping and your choice of side. I couldn't resist ordering the Jaker's Baker, a massive Idaho potato loaded with all the toppings. The prime rib was flavorful and juicy, and the baked potato was hearty and satisfying--the ultimate classic meat-and-potatoes meal. When I travel, I love experiencing local flavor, and Jakers delivers exactly that.

That was a lovely baked potato. It's what the restaurant is known for so good to try it. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade but I think the lemonade was country time or something that had a bitter after taste so I sent it back and the waitress took it off my bill. The waitress kind but never ordered to refill any of our waters.

Their food is done in a unique style that absolutely adds to the flavor. Their biscuits are grilled. You have both options grilled or regular. The person I was with got the grilled. She ia a huge biscuit fan, and absolutely raved about this biscuit! I got a cinnamon roll to go with my omelette lol--Breakfast of champions. This thing was fresh and doughy, and the icing was not too sweet. It was the perfect creamy sugary addition to a cinnamon gummy. It was perfect. The service was very friendly with a hometown feel, and interacted well with our table. We chose one of the tables away from the diner type booths. She was covering that whole section and there was quite a few people in there. Even though she was in a hurry and busy, she laughed and joked with us and made sure we got what we needed. The atmosphere could be a little warmer, it seemed like a busy moving ant farm, including the customers. That didn't detract from our dining experience, which was great. When you go there definitely go for a table, I think it adds to the experience. You're more comfortable you have more room, and just feels less like your server is looming in the background. Being 100% honest, I've been to O'Brady's before and I was not expecting to like it when we went for this visit. Sitting in the dining room with the tables made a big difference in how the whole experience felt. I highly recommend it. At any rate, the food is delicious and the service great, so maybe I'm just too sensitive to my seating lol.
