We had a fantastic experience at Rib & Chop House! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and comfortable. The restaurant was clean, and the ambiance made for a great dining experience. The food was excellent, everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. You can definitely tell they take pride in the quality of their meals. The highlight of our visit was our waitress, Arianna. She was absolutely outstanding! She was friendly, professional, attentive, and incredibly fast without ever making us feel rushed. She checked on us often, made sure we had everything we needed, and genuinely made our dining experience even better. I hope Arianna's manager sees this because she deserves recognition for the exceptional customer service she provides. Employees like her are the reason customers keep coming back. I heard the other desserts were phenomenal and the steaks were great! - carrot soufflé: highly recommend as a side! Very creamy and tasty and sweet - Gumbo: Louisiana-inspired gumbo with chicken, sausage, & vegetables. It was fine, just had no seasonings which was very confusing for me - Boudin Balls: Our Louisiana-seasoned mixture of pork, Cajun spices, & rice. Served with mustard remoulade sauce. Same as above. Just didn't have the seasonings. A little Tony's would've gone a LONG way - Toasted S'mores Cheesecake: Graham cracker base, smooth chocolate cheesecake, and fluffy marshmallow whipped cream, finished with toasted marshmallow and graham cracker crumbs. I don't write a lot of reviews, but I had to comment on this one. We are at the end of a two-week vacation and this was our best meal of the whole trip. The food was excellent and the service could not have been better. Tabitha was SO wonderful and sweet and made us feel so welcomed and special. She asked if it was a special occasion and we told her we were celebrating our anniversary and she brought us the most beautiful dessert after dinner. We had the ribs (a little dry but still good), the chicken-fried chicken (very good) the carrot soufflé (different and delicious) and the outstanding potatoes au gratin (our favorite item of all). We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the river and all the flowers and had a lovely, relaxing dinner. I only wish we didn't live 700 miles away so we could come back sooner! read more

This was our first time to Rib & Chop. We have driven past it and it looked appetizing. I did not realize it was a chain. The place is clean and updated. Good music. Our booth was right under the speakers so it was a bit loud. I made reservations for our anniversary and specifically called out that it was. Upon arriving the hostess asked how many and she went to seat us. I had to tell her that we had reservations. We were seated right next to the kitchen doors. The server came up pretty quick and wrote his name down on the paper. No comment about our anniversary. He seemed very new to the job. The New Year's Eve menu had blackened gator and I had to try it. When it showed up I was not impressed with presentation of the 5 pieces on the plate. The flavor however was great. Good texture and not chewy. Good win. I ordered the lobster and fillet and my wife got a chicken cobb salad. The waiter had to come back to ask how I wanted my steak. When it was brought out I was very underwhelmed. The lobster tail was in pieces. The fillet was horribly cut and looked like a kid butchered it. The lobster pieces were tough and overall not good. The fillet had good flavor but overcooked. My wife enjoyed her salad. The saving grace was the GM Aaron. He stopped by to ask how everything was an I gave him an honest review. He was very open and with us and I really appreciate his feedback. We will definitely come back to try the regular menu and looking forward to Salmon Wellington around Valentine's Day. read more

I was a bit reluctant to go to the Idaho Rib and Chophouse as some other places had higher ratings, but I am really glad I listened to my wife. This place is fantastic! It is right off the river with a very cozy ambiance - this would be a great place for a date (or anyone who likes great food and drinks). The service was top notch with staff that would help anyone who looked like they needed something - not just your server. I had the Baseball Cut Top Sirloin (10oz) with a Caesar salad and garlic mushrooms. I had never heard of this cut before but I am on it if I see it again. This thing came out like a black crusted football. It was cooked perfectly (I asked for medium rare). This was a fabulous steak! Wow, my steak was absolutely delicious. Right when we entered, the staff was welcoming, and our server was fantastic. The atmosphere makes it feel like a nice high-end experience. I got the baseball cut top sirloin and I loved the seasoning on the outside of the steak. It tasted really good. I got a baked potato for a side, which was really good, but I think next time I'll try the au gratin potatoes or something else. The salad seemed average, but that's OK. They asked if we were celebrating anything special, which I said we were and then they never did anything so I'm not sure why they asked. Honestly, the food at Idaho Rib and Chophouse was a total letdown. I grabbed the ribs, but they were super overcooked--dry, tough, and basically the opposite of tender. It felt like they ran out during service and tried to "blast cook" a new batch at the last minute to keep up. When you're dropping $19.95 (special) on a rack, you expect them to be slow-cooked properly, not rushed and ruined. On a more interesting note, I tried the Pastalaya. It had those solid Cajun flavors you'd expect, like the smoked creole sausage, but they did a cool twist with a heavy cream sauce ("Crème Fleurette") and what looked like angel hair pasta. It was a unique dish, but it definitely didn't make up for the ribs being such a miss. Probably won't be back. read more

While walking the falls trail system and visiting the lanterns, I saw several interesting places for dinner, and this one called to me. I sat at a table with a view of the patio and the bar. Fresh bright upscale decor and furnishings. Staff was efficient and thankfully refilling my water a lot! I was thirsty after my walk. I enjoyed a dirty blue cheese stuffed olive martini, while perusing the menu. Nice selection of proteins, with a Louisiana spice influence. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms served with bread to soak up all the cheesy yummy ness. My entree was BBQ giant shrimp over Idaho mashed potatoes, slso wonderful. Desert was crème brûlée , barbecue shrimp over Idaho mashed potatoes, and cream brûlée. Good thing I took that long walk around the falls, otherwise I would have felt guilty. Not really. Before meeting family here, I was a bit worried this would be one of those fancier, stuffier restaurants with over-priced food. Boy was I WRONG. The food was incredible and very generously priced, it felt both high-end and charming, but the staff was incredible and so kind. My 18 month old started losing his patience toward the end of dinner, and I started to wonder if I'd have to take him out in the cold or back to the car. Instead, the super friendly host and wait staff brought him toys and made a big cardboard car. Any parent knows restaurants are not always the relaxing experience you hope for with kids - Rib and Chophouse IS. They were on top of our drinks and very well timed. And the fish, steak, and ribs were all pretty incredible. I know this review might seem fake or AI, but it's completely true and original. We ordered 2 specialty drinks, one app and one main dish. One of the drinks was too sweet, almost tested like sweet pickle instead of a cucumber cocktail. The fried green tomatoes were cooked perfectly, then they added about a cup of miracle whip (supposed to be a blue cheese balsamic topping) on them making the dish incredibly undesirable. We also couldn't figure out if the blue cheese was missing or part of the " sauce." The rack of ribs were over cooked and one end was so dry it was like chewing on jerky. Cool interior. Looby was very festive. From our table I could spy a TV in the bar to track the World Series score. Server was ready to, giving menu suggestions for mostly out of towners. Lunch was reasonably priced being form sf. My husband got the steak meal for lunch under $18. The baker was so big and good I liked the black foil. I got the salad and soup deal and it was &12. Everyone on a weekday at this restaurant in the summer was eating outside. Food was good they took card and had a full bar with local beers on tap. The food is absolutely amazing, however the staff was a different story. My son took me for dinner there and our serve, Tony, was quite rude. He hastily took our drink order, so diff seeing as it was water. He tried to rush us to order our dinner and I had not been there before so I wanted to look the menu over. We found him when we were ready to order and he was just so rude and pushy. Part of our order was a lobster tail which we never received. Each time we could find him to ask he just kept saying 2 more minutes. Someone, I believe the kitchen manager, came around and was asking how our meal was and I told him it was wonderful and would be even better if we had our lobster tail. We never saw him again either. We were done with our meal and again hunted down our server and let him know to cancel the lobster tail. He seemed irritated, which was ridiculous. We went there for Valentine's Day. They had a regular menu and a special valentines menu. My husband had steak and ribs which were very good. I had lobster and shrimp scampi with seafood bisque which was good. There are 2 seating areas. One had nice restaurant seating and the area was more casual with various sports games playing. They had regular cocktails and mock cocktails. We liked this as we don't drink. Our waitress was so good. She checked in us numerous times to see if we needed anything and she took away our empty plates at the right time so that we could enjoy a cream brûlée that we shared and it was so good. Went there Friday with two other couples for an early dinner 5:00pm. One couple who had ordered fish and chips before and loved it, but this time could hardly chew the fish because it was so overcooked. The service we received was unmatched. Now, this may sound a little strange because after we were seated, we waited for about 20 minutes for someone to come over before I had to flag someone down and ask for our server. Apparently there was a mix up with assigning someone to our table who was getting sent home for the day. Once the hiccup was realized, we were quickly assigned someone new and about three people came to apologize for the misunderstanding. Including a very kind man, who I assume is the manager, because he offered a free dessert for our trouble. I appreciate that the pasta had more than enough alfredo sauce and didn't leave me with dry linguine toward the end. I also had a cup of gumbo (not featured) and I really enjoyed it. The cheesecake was good too. I'm more of a fruity-type but my boyfriend really wanted the chocolate and caramel drizzle. We should've went with the strawberry, if you ask me.
