I walked in with my unloaded Smith and Wesson gun on my hip, I had received my Georgia weapons carry license on 1 November 2011, and thought I should practice. I was worried about breaking any rules after reading the Stoddard's Range and Gun signs carefully. No big deal, the rules were simple. As I walked in I asked to use the range, the associate looked at me... saw my holstered weapon and said..."sure - welcome to Stoddard's," he was kind and friendly. As he looked at my ID - he said, Stephen... "please fill out a simple form and leave your driver's license until finished." I was set up with hearing protection and target for $2.00 dollar plus the lane rental of $15.00 bucks. And I bought a reasonable set of eye protection for $6.99 "Wow...more than fair," the place was awesome! I found Stoddard's on a Google search. When I arrived it was super clean, had brass not been present on the shooting line, I would have thought I was in a country club! Even the bathroom as cleaner than mine. The use of the range target was outstanding! You just tape your $1 dollar target onto some cardboard and punch in your distance on an easy to use keypad. The keypad did more than I knew how to do, but I just input distance - and the target gets ready fast. Click target home and it comes back! I had such a pleasant time I bought another 50 rounds and continued to shoot. Stoddard's does not know "who walks in the door" but their friendliness really helped me today. You know what impressed me the most? Some inexperienced yahoo's walked in the door with a case and bag of enough firepower to take down an embassy, the associates made sure they were confident with questions prior to letting them shoot... That is when I realized I found my beach. I even told the associate I found my beach, he looked at me kind of weird...beach he said? I said, "some people go to the beach to relax...I found my beach today" and I thought but did not express... for a combat tested Marine - this beach is within reach! As soon as can, I am becoming a member of this outstanding place!!! This place is more than a range, its an experience. I've been going to Stoddard's in douglasville for about a year now, and have nothing but good things to say about the facility and the staff. From range time, to firearm purchases, to work done by there armorer I've always had a good and safe time. I've been shooting IDPA (self defense pistol matches) for some time and have enjoyed it. But recently they started having rifle competitions every Thursday night. If you have any type of rifle come out and shoot. It's a fun and friendly atmosphere. Preston sets up the matches with the help of "D". He does a great job keeping it fun and challenging. With safety in mind he understands some shooters are more experienced than others and adjusts accordingly to ensure everyone feels and shoots safely. With out restricting the fun and challenge to the more experienced shooters. While Preston is directing the match other employees are there competing as well. Josh who has helped me with purchasing many firearms from there. Has been a huge help with tips and techniques to help me do better and to stay safe. These are only a few of the people and experiences I've encountered at Stoddard's. None of which have anything less than amazing. I first went to the Stoddard's retail store shortly after the original range had burned down. From the first day I met "Ransom Stoddard" he spoke of this top of the line range that he was going to construct from the charred remains at the original site. It took a couple of years and he had to overcome obstacles too numerous to mention here. A lesser man would have walked away and built a range in a different location a long time ago but not Ransom Stoddard. He persevered and I will say he has built what must be the premier shooting range in the state of Georgia. The shooting range has12 lanes. They are all 75-foot long, fully rifle-rated and have a programmable touch screen target system. The range also features the finest air conditioning, heating, ventilation and filtration system, including HEPA and other filter layers. Have you ever gone to an indoor range and blown that black powder out of your nose. Yuck!! Well that will not happen at Stoddard's. They have a nice selection of firearms and their prices on ammo rival the discount stores such as Walmart. If you enjoy shooting and you live any where close to Douglasville, you have to try Stoddard's out. You will not be disappointed. read more

My wife and I stopped by Stoddard's on the way to dinner last night. We didn't go by to shoot, just to pick up my birthday present. Can you say busy? All the lanes were full and people were waiting to get their turn to shoot. I used to work in retail so I know how it gets. Sometimes when you get busy in a retail setting you move into a higher gear and some of the customer attentiveness suffers. Retail settings get very stressful as the staff tries to balance customer satisfaction with efficiency. I have gone into and worked in stores before where customers walk in the door and wind up leaving because no one even knows they are there. I say all of this because that was not what was happening yesterday at Stoddard's. People were greeted as they walked in the door and everyone was having a good time. The employees spent time with the customers and made them feel like they were the only ones in the store. People were laughing and joking but everyone was still being taken care of in a timely manner. Good job guys! read more

This review is long overdue. I've made several purchases with Stoddards thru their online store. For whatever reason(s) I faced several hiccups as well, relating to receiving said items in a timely manner. I contacted Ken (owner) and expressed my concerns. My brother was in town, it was his b-day. I planned on taking him shooting, but after my issues I was hesitant about taking him shooting. Ken addressed my concerns, answered my questions honestly and made sure my brother and I had a great time. Needless to say perfection is hard to obtain in our daily lives let alone in every aspect of it. It was the way he handled the situation that impressed me. The staff are knowledgeable and willing to answer any question asked. The environment is clean the range well ventilated. I would recommend anyone to this establishment. read more

Not big on writing reviews, but Stoddard's is worth it. They have a bowling pin shoot every 2nd & 4th Monday nights. I was at the first one after they opened and have not missed one yet. The pin shoot is a lot of fun. You could be a novice or expert, it does not matter. There is a lot of encouragement at these pin shoots as well as helpful tips. They also have IDPA shoots every 1st & 3rd Mondays. Haven't been to one yet, but probably will. Prices are great and the range is better that 1st rate! I have bought guns and ammo from them. One of the cool things they offer is, If you buy a gun from them at Stoddard's, you get a free hour of range time. Also after you buy 10 boxes of ammo, you get a free hour of range time. That is so AWESOME! if you live close by or on the other side of Atlanta, it is well worth the drive. read more

COVID SAFTEY ALERT!!!!! Since the beginning of covid pandemic Stoddards has had several employees test positive for covid 19. Wait you didn't know?? Instead of letting EMPLOYEES and CUSTOMERS aware of the situation they chose to remain silent and not let CUSTOMERS know. They never even bothered to shut down to do a deep clean!!!!! You ask why??? Because of the almighty dollar that's why. Employees and customers left unaware that they have possibly been exposed and went on with their lives spreading this horrible disease. If you value your health and the health of others (especially those with low immune systems) don't go to a place that cares about you and your health and not the amount of money they rake in. Stoddards has friendly and knowledgable staff who will go out of their way to help you. The range is one of the BEST I have been to. I have been to several in the surrounding area including Wild West and the new Adventure Outdoors range. The ventilation system and cleanliness of Stoddards is by far the best, not to mention the touch screen target controls. I went to Adventure Outdoors and was ignored at the gun counter as they continued to help several other males who were in line BEHIND me. Females are not ignored here! Stoddards has a great range with a great staff. You will continue to have my business. As a member of public safety I would like to see maybe a small discount (with ID) when renting a lane to shoot on. Just a thought. read more

Stoddard's Range & Guns is the best range I've been too. My wife and I signed up for a monthly membership and we love it. All of the staff at Stoddard's are great but we want to thank Whitney for helping us with everything whenever we are there. This is my wifes first 9mm and Whitney help her with the way she was holding the gun and gave her lots of tips on shooting in general. If youre buying a gun for the first time or the 100th time she can help you in everyway. Stoddard's is the best place to purchase your gun as well as shoot it. As a new homeowner protecting my family and my home are a top priority. I have never owned, or really ever operated a gun of any type before, but the pros at Stoddard's in Douglasville made me feel comfortable and appreciated. Brooke, and Jake were both so helpful, from my initial phone call to get information I knew I was headed in the right direction. I had shopped around a few other places in the area, but I am so happy I saved the best for last! SAFETY ALERT!!!! SAFETY ALERT!! This company has had several employees negligently shoot themselves with their own weapons in the last 3 years. The most recent incident a manager shot themselves while trying to show someone " how to safely load and unload a weapon". AND this employee still works there and carries a weapon around the store! Would you feel safe?? Would you want to bring your family to a gun range that this is a common occurrence? Go to any other gun range in Atlanta that would never allow this to happen. Second attempt at writting a review here and it looks like it's going to work. If you want a first class range to enjoy the shooting sports, Stoddards is were you want to go. Michael has assemble supperior - knowledgeble staffing, built a state of the art indoor shooting range with supperior air handling system and a well stocked store. My wife and I have been going since it's opening and have yet to hear a negative comment concerning this facility. With crime growing in our area I took the Ladies Only Handgun/Safety Class on New Year's Eve with my daughter. I had no experience with guns or understanding of how they worked. Needless to say I was very nervous going into the class that day. Dant was our instructor and over the course of the day I slowly traded fear for understanding. I have been to Stoddard's several times over the last 6 months and it is the best range in metro Atlanta. Being newly built, the range is very clean and has the most modern target system I have ever used. I have visited other ranges nearby - Sandy Springs Gun Club, Wild West Traders and Quickshot, but I prefer Stoddard's due to the great staff, good ventilation system and overall enjoyable shooting environment.
