I'm on a cane and if I make a purchase, Rick, Or EJ will always look after me. The gunsmith area is at another level. Solid leadership passes down to the team. It's pure local gun store/range vibes. Not a bar or golf course selling guns. The staff are predominantly former military and law enforcement. As well as former NFL. The prices on good top tier second hand firearms is absolutely competitive. Using this store as a transfer point (per ATF) is also a pleasant experience. I went in on a Monday to fire at the range. The range was down for a maintenance problem, so I just waited until it was fixed. A Black gentleman (I did not get his name) was very helpful-he did not charge me for range time when the problem was finally fixed. He did a good job keeping me informed about progress of the repairs. I spoke with the smith about some work on a long gun, he was also very helpful and professional. I came from ca to visit my cousins. While my stay here I wanted to go shooting, we decided to go here since it was the closest and had decent prices. Coming here for my first time shooting, I would highly recommend anyone to come and try their first experience here! Dalton suggested a good gun for first time shooting so recoil wouldn't be too bad and I wouldn't get injured. Dalton was a great and patient teacher, going through the steps of safety, reloading the gun, hand placement and etc. so patiently. He gave reassurance on aim and how to hold the gun, he had a great personality teaching! I would recommend him to anyone learning for the first time. Good selection of items but good luck getting anyone to help you out. Too much standing around and talking amongst themselves versus customer service. I stood at the counter for almost 30 minutes trying to get help with a suppressor. One guy was on the phone the whole time. Another guy walked off to go get in on a conversation with the other group of employees near the register. Figured someone would have at least acknowledged me and offered to help. Nothing. I called the Firing Line to have a pistol transferred to another dealer in TX. I inquired about the cost, I was told $50. Then I drove 40 minutes through traffic to get to their store. As we start the paperwork...the bald guy behind the counter said it was $100. Total BS! Complete bait and switch or If your employee's can't inform people what your prices are correctly then "train them!" I called another gun dealer immediately from their store " Cherokee Gun and Pawn in Canton, GA" and they completed the whole process for $45. (That included shipping and insurance on the pistol.) Great service too! I will never go back to the Firing Line after this issue, I would tell anyone who needs to know stay away from these crooks. read more

The employees are some of the smartest dudes in the industry. I say dudes because I've never seen a woman working there. They are so down to earth they are really respectful and they have a great selection of inventory as well as services. I really should have gotten their names. The guys in the gunsmith shop were awsome. I built an AR but couldnt get the muzzle compensator on. I was able to walk in, drop the weapon off and go get lunch while they fixed it. The price was reasonable and they definitely know what they are doing. I love the people who work at GA Firing Line, and I used to really like their prices. But recently it's turned into Ed's Gun & Tackle 2.0. Each time I go in there I see crazier and crazier prices. $400 used Ruger LCP's, and $900 AR-15s that used to be $600..it used to be that you got a good deal on a gun, and $25 of range time. Now you get a bad deal on a gun and no range time. This is worse than when it was Ed's... then the ammo prices are bonkers. Exact same box of ammo at Cabellas, $29, at GA Firing line, $55. I realize it's a busy time and demand is sky high, but these prices are insane. It seems like the whole industry is enjoying the fact most new gun owners have no idea that a box of 9mm range ammo should be $11 and not $20. And then when I hear customers say something, employees say "well people pay it." Well, people are gonna remember. It could be worse, AO is selling hand sanitizer for $40 lol... read more

Recently went to my second range in years. I found this place on yelp and I decided to go. My first impression was ..... hmmm i see..... because from the outside, the shop didn't seem like a shop. I was worried it was something else or they were closed due to COVID-19. Luckily they were opened and when you walk in the shop was full of customers. I can tell you this, the inside of the shop was total opposite as compared to outside the shop. Employees were nice and greeted us at the door. We signed up to use the range. Due to COVID-19 they didn't rental any guns out nor other equipment's. Luckily I had my own and only purchased ammo and ear and eye protector. To use the range it was about $12 which is a great price compared to others which is about $15-$18. Ear and eye protectors were about $1 each and the targets were $1.50 and up. The range was nice and clean. Some of the back glass were a little cracked but overall the range was neat. The shop had variety of handguns and rifles. The employees are very helpful and wanting to help. I will go again and maybe possibly thinking about getting a membership. read more

I have a membership with them. I'm always greeted with a high level of individuality. I had wanted a sig rattler for a while. I got for cheaper than anywhere in town or online. It's a beauty to shoot. I also purchased suppressor which the educated me on how to run it on my 9mm carbine as well. Gunsmith did upgrades to my Beretta 92. Ed's or Nick's as it's now called is a descent place to go browse, shoot or kill some time on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The range isn't that great, but it's large enough to accommodate bigger groups of people. The staff is pretty douchey, but thats typical of most gun shops you go into. Everyone is there seems to have the "billy bad ass" mentality. The prices are a bit high, but they do have a nice selection of weapons. They also have a good bit of demo guns you can shoot on the range if you feel like trying out something new. The rounds are pretty high, but they sell GA Arms ammo for range use. They do have 2 high powered lanes and thats nice since my 5/7 cannot be shot on a standard lane. Overall it's a descent place to go shoot, or kill time, but the prices will keep me from buying any guns anytime soon. read more

We visited here on Easter morning! We were happy to find a range open because of the holiday! The store was clean, well-organized, staff was attentive. We had to rent all the equipment (eyes, ears, guns) and everything was well maintained. We were able to switch out the guns three times just had to purchase the corresponding ammo. I really appreciated that one of the attendants was so observant of all the individuals using the lanes. I like this range. I have only visited a few of them here in Cobb/Cherokee county but this one is my favorite so far. They were surprisingly busy but managed to move everyone through at a good pace and the other patrons seemed pleased as well. They also had a very large inventory of IN STOCK items. Which seems to be rare these days. The prices were reasonable and there were plenty of employees ready and willing to answer questions and show the items. Top notch gun range and store. Staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable and service far exceeds the other stores I looked at (cough eh hm cabela's and adventure outdoors). They sell Black Riffle Coffee too - YES!!!! Range has the usual mix of new to shooting and seasoned shooters but always felt safe around the other shooters. Buy the membership if you shoot more than once a month it will quickly pay itself back. Current price as of 12/28/19 is $12 an hour for a lane and membership is only $25 a month unlimited shooting. They have in house work and do not send your gun outside for work which I appreciate. read more

Staff is as knowledgeable and friendly as anywhere. Always eager to talk firearms and generally knows their stuff. Always find myself shooting the breeze with these guys once I finish on the range. I really enjoy that. Store is lacking and getting worse. Very few accessories and the layout is getting worse. Inventory (accessories) always seems low and uninteresting. They do have cases of ammo stacked up apparently for sale but no pricing to be found. I'm not about to lug 1000 rounds of 223 ammo to the counter only to find it's not a good price. How 'bout some pricing stickers, guys? Firearms are almost always in stock (except for the very popular models that seem to fly off the shelves). Prices are not exceptional and you can find better firearm prices elsewhere. Range is showing it's age. Probably needs a remodel again but I'm sure it gets a lot of use since this place is in a great location for the area. I have found myself driving to another range a bit further away because I can shoot rifle's and pistols on the same lane unlike GFL. But on the plus side, GFL has amended their range prices to be more competitive with the places in Woodstock. read more

I have been going to this location since it was Ed's gun and tackle. It has changed hand a couple time since then and has been GA Firing Line for some time. I use to like going there and many of the staff knew me and it was nice to chew the fat, shoot at the range, or perhaps pick up a new toy. Over the last year to 18 months is all completely new faces and they all think they are "operators" sometimes wondering around behind the counter with their personal tactical cool AR strapped to their back. Then when you ask to see something they have to show you their technique for drawing and targeting. Nauseating. They all think they know more about guns then you do and it is insulting. I rarely go there anymore. It is a shame as it use to be a decent gun store. read more

I have been giving them business since they were Ed's Gun and Tackle. During that time, I've seen them weather three Presidents, an assault weapons ban, multiple ammo shortages and a media outcry to ban firearms. With each "crisis", the group at Ed's remain pleasant, even cheery, and provide a wealth of information to both novice and expert shooters. The firearm selection is a nice representation of mid to high priced pistols, rifles and shotguns. I ha e seen the occasional super high priced pistol, but on the average day pistols meet market average. I bought a CZ p-07 from them (the latest of around one dozen purchased and traded pistols I have obtained through Ga Firing Line) and the process was smooth. The firing range is divided in to pistol lanes on a large room and a separate room for rifles. Range is limited to 25 yards. I have heard there has been a recent increase in price to rent range time, but my last visit was only $16 (half hour range time with five targets; I bring my own ammo). The range is well maintained and soundproofing is quite good. Again, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They have allowed me to handle every firearm in the place without pressuring me to purchase. It's that friendly and low key approach that keeps me coming back for over twenty years. read more
