(Good)The food was good we had the tomahawk, potatoes and asparagus. We also had some top shelf drinks. (Bad) We made reservations well ahead of time and asked for a window seat. Later when we arrived they had not even looked at the request and so we ended up sitting in the middle of the restaurant with a stupid tv playing advertisements above us. Our waitress obviously was not having a good night as she was not friendly and gave our party the feeling we were a chore. We ordered the best and most expensive of what they had and service was lacking. We don't eat at dine dining much and had saved for this family occasion for awhile and were terribly disappointed by the people who seated, served and waited on us. I won't be going back the next time we are in the area looking for a fine dining experience. read more

For the prices they charge, I would never reccomend this restaurant. We made a reservation and were seated 10 minutes after arrival. It then took 30 minutes before anyone asked us for a drink order. The manager was sent over to take the orders because the waiter had been taking care of other tables. The waiter, Alexander, came over and gave significant attitude to the table upon taking orders. The food then took over an hour to be served. I had the trout which was not great, but I had a bite of the the impossible burger and that was ok. Neither were worth an hour wait and 30 bucks. Our server came to the table a total of 4 times over the 2 hour experience. At the end the server even had the audacity to ask our table if we "loved the service". We told him the food was fine but the service was one of the worst we had seen, and he responded by blaming it on the kitchen. We had one drink all dinner because we were never offered to order one beyond the initial order. Beyond the fact that the waiter was rude and incompetent, the general management of the restaurant was a mess. There were at least 5 bussers walking around aimlessly and the servers were MIA. For four people with a drink, appetizer and main course it came out to $350 and it was a true waste of money. Will not be coming back here and hope to see either management change or a new restaurant take its place when this one inevitably goes under as it is a fraudulent attempt at "fine dining". read more

If you are having a difficult time deciding where to dine in the area, make it easier on yourself and head to Stoke and Rye. We had dinner and breakfast during our stay at the Westin. Our servers were fantastic, engaging with our kids and attentive throughout our time there, providing recommendations and consistently checking in. They also have a sommelier available to pair wines. We opted for the three course dinner menu. My wife and I got different items and enjoyed each course. The sauce used for the mussels appetizer was exceptional and they included fries to soak it all up, which was a nice touch. My wife agreed her soup was one of the best derivations of a French onion she has ever had. The main courses were superb. The steak was cooked to the temperature I requested and very flavorful without being lathered in sauce. My wife enjoyed her salmon that was also cooked to perfection. We concluded with the pecan pie dessert which was a great ending to our meal. Breakfast was equally delicious, where we had the breakfast sandwich and avocado toast. All the flavors were there. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from, many of which we have tried over years of staying at the Westin, but Stoke and Rye is one we have no doubt we will return to. read more

I have never written a review but came here for vacation with children. The restaurant was accommodating to our children but served an excellent adult meal. The steak was the best I've had in years and the sides & drinks were great too! Highly recommend! read more

Epic 5 star ribeye (I asked they cook it on the flat top grill) and it was amazing! The cauliflower w/chimichurri was probably the best I've tasted (considering they use cashew aioli and cashews are one of my favorite foods). The Smoking Chocolate Mason Jar is now one of my favorite deserts too with brownie crumb, salted caramel ice cream, cacao nips and some other tastiness (maybe some whip cream too)! They have a great wine and whiskey selection and GREAT service, brilliant views, and a quiet atmosphere. I look forward to returning soon! read more

My wife and I ate here on 2/16/23. We had a great experience. The food and drinks were fantastic, but what really made it a 5 star experience was the service we received from our server Syndee. She was so much fun and so knowledgeable about the menu. Her interactions with other customers appeared to be the same. We also loved the ambiance - modern with wood and metal. A couple of musts for the food - the bread rolls and maple butter, Potatoes 3 ways and the broccolini- super delish! We'll definitely be back when we are in Avon! read more

We came to celebrate our anniversary and found it a wonderful option. We had the table side tomahawk steak and our waiter Alexander prepared it beautifully giving us both dinner AND a show. I ate here tonight with my husband and a friend and it was great! I'm glad I ignored the first reviewer. We started with the rolls and mushroom ravioli. For the main entrees we had a grilled peach salad, roasted chicken and salmon. Everything was great. Best food we've had in awhile. The service was good also. I would recommend this place for sure, but would not recommend it for children or if you're in a hurry. read more

Stoke & Rye is participating in Vail/Beaver Creek Restaurant Week so 4 of us dined there on Nov 11. We all started with their Restaurant Week special, a glass of wine & a choice of a small plate. We all enjoyed our choices! We also shared some delish truffle fries that were hot & crispy & several desserts! The smoked chocolate mason jar dessert was absolutely the yummiest! Our server, Natalie, was very attentive & helpful. The restaurant was busy but we had very good service throughout our meal. This place should be called Stoke & Hope when it comes to breakfast. You will be hoping they refill the items in the buffet. Service is great, food is okay when it's actually refilled at the buffet. They also need to have someone oversee the buffet for refills and the jungle gym of kids that come in and grab the warm foods with their bare hands. read more

Good food but a three for not having a vegetarian entree available. The wild mushroom ravioli was delicious and would make a fantastic entree, I hope they consider "reassigning" it. The kitchen is apparently a bit inconsistent with portions, a staff member advised us so, and the mushroom ravioli app came out in a larger portion that worked as a small entree. I'm not fully a vegetarian but was looking for a vegetarian entree on this night. The homemade bread was delicious and the drinks are creative. I ate around the pork in the mac and cheese that I shared with my husband, it was the blandest cheese mix. My husband said the pork was delicious! As others have said, this is a bit overpriced, even for our area--I generally agree, but it was a nice date night. They just have some optimizing to do (drop prices a bit, increase portions, have a more inclusive menu). We miss the previous iteration of this space, Maya, and will probably wait 6+ months to give this new concept another try. read more

Stoke and Rye is one of the premier new restaurants in the Valley. My girlfriend and I have been 3x so far - Aug, Oct, and Dec. The restaurant's ambiance is beautiful - very organic, the service is top notch, and most importantly the food is wonderful. We have ordered the Alex rosemary dinner rolls, potato leak soup, wild mushroom ravioli, the bacon wrapped pork lion, the cast iron chicken, and the pork chop. As sides, we have ordered several time the pork belly Mac and cheese and the potatoes 3 ways. They are always staples to our order. All were wonderful choices and very tasty. Further, we have tried almost all the deserts. The chocolate mason jar and flourless carrot cheesecake are to die for. We have enjoyed visiting several times and can guarantee we'll be back and spreading the word around town. read more

Stoke and Rye replaced Maya Mexican Bistro at the Avon Westin Hotel. It is a new restaurant but the problems we encountered could not just be due to growing pains. the three screaming babies and drunk yelling at the table next to us wasn't the fault of the restaurant. However, poor service and inabity to get quality cuisine from kitchen to table is the fault of the management. We had to ask our waitress to get our drinks. When that took 20 minutes we knew we had better get our dinner order in. We started with a racclette appetizer to share which was essentially cold glutenized cheese literally dumped from a cup on top off potatoes and deli cold cuts. No Swiss chef would recognize this as racclette.. We then waited 45 minute to get our dinner, even after telling the waitress we had a babysitter on a time lock at home. Finally my husband went into the kitchen to tell them to wrap our dinner to go. They said they did not know we were in a rush. I think everyone feels on a rush to eat dinner after sitting in the restaurant for two hours. The food was also a big disappointment. Someone turned the salt shaker upside down over my chicken. My daughter's salmon was very plain and tasteles and about the size of a silver dollar. My daughter's pasta dish was linguine with shaved cheese and uncooked, fatty bacon. Perhaps we'll try it again in 6 months but it might close prior to that if they continue on this path. read more
