Recommend the City of Sherman purchase this golf course and invest a few million into renovations. The rates should remain the same for Sherman residence since they would be using tax payer money. This could be a great attraction for Sherman, if done right. The courses does not really need to be redesigned just renovated.. 1. Sand the entire course or improve the fairways, and greens. 2. Put sand traps back. 3. Add restrooms and Water stations 4. Widen the practice range, get a ball dispense machine, etc.. 5. Need a new or renovated club house. Tried to play the course today paid for 18 only played 8 the course was in such bad shape dirt spots on the fairways and greens along with water stand in the fairways lost several ball on the fairway 8 minute tee times had to chip over pallets of stuff in the edge of the green on 2 of the 8 hole we played the course was in complete disarray it looks like no one care about the course at all I feel like I was take advantage of I don't recommend this course at all stay home and hit off the street in front of you house it would be better for your clubs read more

The course was in good shape and real value for the money. That area had a fair amount of rain so greens rolled good. I would play again.

Would somebody please take this dump out back, shoot it in the head and put it out of its misery? My word, where to start. Stone in the name is appropriate as that is how hard the dry, cracked, dirt fairways are. Every trap is ground under repair and charging $50.00 to play this goat ranch (not to insult goat ranches) is absolutely criminal. I play this course all the time. It is good value for the cost. Today we had a 5pm tee time booked for 4. All of us show up to the course and it's completely empty and closed. I didn't get a call or text or email or anything at all saying it was closed. Drove 45 min for nothing. read more

This place is a cow pasture at best. The fairways are not cut evenly, and way too long. There is no sand in the bunkers at all, and some bunkers have netting "jutting" out from the bottom of the trap. I know of one person who hit out of the trap, caught the net and broke his wrist. The greens are cut maybe once a week. There are broken sprinkler heads all over the place and showing muddy spots all over the place. Now let's get to the management. Cesar, who us the GM. I believe is the rudest person. He is supposed to be running the place and providing good customer service. He acts like he is upset with everyone, always has a mad look on his face. There are double standards at the club too. You can play a five some at the club, if you are gambling (so called money game). We tried to get a five some off and they said no. Only money games. So we each put in a $20 bill for a money game (just so we can play 5), and the kid behind the desk said, "he will decide what is a money game and what is not!" Are you kidding me? Who gave him that right!! This club is a joke. read more

The course is a value buy for the money and the elevation makes the course enjoyable. Not being a high $ course, you do lack some amenities such as a cart girl (only seen one once out of several rounds) and posh clubhouse. The driving range membership is fantastic, except (my one complaint) when my only early days off, which are Fridays, almost always coincides with a tournament. The range is shut down for tourney players only...leaves me with a sense of frustration. Aside from that, I highly recommend Stonecreek! read more

I played this course on 9/22/2017. The staff was very friendly, This was the first time I have played this course. I play once a week and have a single digit handicap. The course is in very good shape. Greens are firm and fast but will hold and approach shot . It will take a couple of rounds to know where to hit the ball. Well worth the trip from Dallas. They need to get better Hot Dogs. read more

This was my first time to play this course after driving past it for a couple of years. It was extremely windy and we have had dry conditions so I didn't really expect the course to be overly lush and green. The entire course was extremely dry and hard. The greens were some of the fastest I have ever played Didn't really matter how softly you putted, it was like putting on ice or concrete. The signs indicating the hole number were incorrect after hole three and you had to guess which hole you were on as there were no signs pointing you in the right direction and no communication of directions otherwise. The course marshal explained the signs were on order as he was asking us to pick up our play. As for the overall course experience, I have been looking forward to playing here. I had a free round given to me for a charitable donation to United Way. I was with a four-some and we were only going to play 9. My friends spent $20 including their cart and fees for 9 holes. When I presented my discount card, the pro shop employee didn't mention that there would be additional fees nor did the card. He punched the card (as it was good for 4 different courses in the area) and then proceeded to tell me I still owed a $20 cart fee. He said the fee was not included and that no matter how many holes I played or that I was riding in someone else's cart, that was the standard cart fee. I paid so as not to leave my foursome short, but the employee's attitude was one of inconvenience, apathy and unfriendliness. We asked if the drink cart would be on the course to decide whether to get drinks before we left the club house on on the course. We were told they would be out by 10 am. We didn't see them til we finished on 9. I could manage with the course condition as it was February and I understand courses have to make changes/updates at some point during the year and it might not be the best time to play. Needless to say, the attitude of the employees and the lack of communication regarding the numbering changes was a major disappointment. I won't be back and I would advise my friends to play elsewhere. read more
