Our first visit to this restaurant. There were ten of us in our party. The best deal for Wed was the $10 bottle of wine! Nice selection of food. Our group had everything from panini sandwiches to salmon and also the skirt steak. Only negative comments were the wings were too dry and the fries that came with the hamburger were a little soggy. The salads are a large portion so be sure to share with 2 or 3 people. Delicious. Our waitress Karin was so friendly and attentive and Corey was wonderful as well. The food is always amazing here I've been back many times now and tried basically the whole menu. They update their menu occasionally too which is awesome. Lots of specials for food n drinks plus it's a great atmosphere with bands and activities at night. Restaurant is all brand new inside too so it's real nice. Best spot around for sure read more

Yummmmmm. Such good food. Seasonal menu means not getting sick of the same old thing but also running the risk of falling in love with something and having it disappear for a little while . The spiced chick pea tacos are amazing. The short rib is sooooo good. The grilled romaine (hopefully makes a comeback bc yum) is so good. Bartenders are so friendly. Staff is usually on point. The only complaint is that occasionally certain bands are SO LOUD that it's too loud for the space and becomes annoying. But I won't penalize the stars for that nom nom nom read more

Absolutely wonderful food. They have the most amazing French Dip but honestly, everything I've tried is magnificent. Great bartenders, super friendly and attentive. Awesome place with modern, sleek atmosphere. Very classy-cool feeling when you enter. Has a great new restaurant smell, if thats your sort of thing. Filled with high end architecture and artistic design. The cocktail list is very tasteful and unique, with an equally tasteful and creative menu to match. Stone Fire is really great, and definitely one of the better options around. Their grilled chipotle wings are fantastic, especially when dipped in the dill ranch they come with. The service can be a bit odd (they nearly always forget the extra cup of ranch I request) but never rude. I like to call this place the restaurant Beachwood needs, but doesn't deserve. I've visited here twice and liked it both times. The interior is really nice; spacious yet warm and inviting. The service was very good and attentive. The food was tasty, but by the end it didn't inspire me to make this my go to place. I feel the menu needs to strike a better balance between the typical and gourmet as it feels a tad forced on the gourmet side. Stopped in for a bite with my wife and eldest son. My wife had a burger and sweet potato fries that was done to her liking. My son and I both ordered a personal pizza. Both were good. Service was more than adequate. Mixed drinks were better than average. We will be back! read more

Don't bother!! Not usually one to write reviews but, felt I had to after the horrible dining experience I had there last week. I had heard so many good things that my wife and I decided to try it out. First off, how the hell do you run out of food at a restaurant?? That makes absolutely no sense to me. They were out of steak. Seriously, you advertise your establishment as a steak house and you run out of steak???. Second, my wife's dish came with hair on it. Not a single strand but hair as in plural!! They did take it back and made her a new plate, but not without first getting some major attitude from the waitress who brought this over was annoyed that we complained and proceeded cop an attitude with us. Finally, the owner came by and apologized for everything but did nothing to adjust our bill at the end of the night, which I think would've been the right thing to do. very disappointing over an hour and 20 minute wait and when the food came out it was not cooked right, cold, and mixed up orders. burgers were well done when we asked for medium you could put them on the bottom of your shoes. Fries were cold both sweet potato and regular. complained to the owner and he had an attitude that was unreal. Had a fabulous time there last night. We had a group of 12 and were served by Hannah. She was terrific. Drinks were refilled quickly. Our orders were taken right away and food came out for everyone at the same time. The food was hot and perfectly prepared. I had the lobster cakes and they exceeded my expectations. Others has the ribs, mac and cheese, burgers; and fried chicken. Everyone commented how good their food was. They had a nice selection of craft beer and some good wines. It took her a while to notice we had been seated and then take our drink order. When the drinks came, we ordered an appetizer, a sandwich , and a bar pie. Took over fifteen minutes for the food to arrive, but that isn't really too bad if everything is cooked to order. Maria came back 15 minutes after the food arrived ( we were almost finished eating) and asked if everything was ok, one friend requested more water. Ten minutes later the water arrived, we were obviously done eating and she just walked away. Fifteen minutes later we decided to go and find her so that we could pay and the hostess had to find her for us. A few minutes later Maria comes back and addresses us with the word "Yes" and a ton of attitude. We let her know we are ready for our check and she basically demands the plates from us. When one of my stunned friends pushed a plate towards her instead of handing it to her she quipped "couldn't pick up the plate huh?". REALLY ??? Ten minutes later, we wound up scrounging our pockets for exact change so we could pay the bill that had been sitting on our table so we could leave. It is not like we ordered anything complicated, it is not like she had more than three tables with people in her section, slow service can be forgiven in some instances but RUDE 'service' cannot be forgiven. If you go in, ask the hostess who your server is going to be and if she says "Maria" ask to be seated elsewhere. read more

Can't tell you about the food because we never got any. Walked in and were seated right away but never had any member of the wait staff come over to take so much as a drink order. Really good food at a reasonable price. I had the pasta with short rib, roasted tomatoes, and peas. Delicious! My sister had the baby back ribs - tender, tasty, cooked to perfection. The coke slaw that came with the ribs was a new take on a favorite. Wednesday's they offer a $10.00 bottle of wine - let it breathe. So my wife and I have been here before, loved the entrees and selection of beers and other beverages but especially LOVE the 'tapas' menu. Not a traditional tapas, but still a long list of delicious little plates that if you're planning an evening of chatting and drinking won't put you under with a big meal. Creative and delicious, they always draw us back. So my wife's birthday was coming up and we decided to invite a few folks to join us there. ....a 'few' turned from our reservation of ten to nearly 20 people yet the staff and management handled it perfectly! The band they had played at the perfect volume and kept our crew dancing and having a blast drinking from 7 when we arrived until 12am!!! Absolutely a great choice for a quiet dinner (their separate dining room is well-decorated and serene) or a few drinks and some chow!!! Restaurant is beautiful. Ordered a glass of champagne from the wine list, which was served in a wine glass.... Not a great sign. ( attention to detail ) Wings were okay, Margherita pie was tasteless and completely undercooked. Waitress was nice, but took the appetizer plate while I was still eating. Coffee was awful. Very impressed with the total churnaround with this place. Food was excellent! Had the chipole wings , apricot wongs, fried pickle and feta,artichoke olive pizza! All were delicious! We had our engagement party there on Saturday for about 40 guests and it was a really great time!!! The food was excellent, staff was very helpful, and they were very accommodating with our request for a specialized menu. We had a Mexican theme menu, everything was very flavorful. Ate there a few months ago...Such a long wait for such a huge disappointment. The decor is beautiful but the quality of the food falls way too short. A long list of "gourmet" appetizers with only a couple of burger and main plate choices makes the menu head shaking. We ended up ordering a pizza and two apps with a small side of fries and a small side salad because the choices weren't that appealing. The pizza and fries were very greasy and not too flavorful. It's meant for one, but the two of us left half of it behind because it was so bad. The artichoke crisps were both overdone (making them too hard to chew) and underdone (making them too mushy). The artichoke dip was supposed to be made with a spicy cheese but it was very bland and lacking in flavor. All the meal options have "gourmet" additions that makes them questionably unappealing without the option for more traditional items. They don't even have regular french fries - your choice is buffalo fries or garlic chips??!! - I had to special request plain fries. The salad lettuce was very bitter and forget traditional ranch, the only option was an in house dill ranch that was water thin and again lacking in flavor (other than the strong dill). Our waitress was very nice but had no experience and there was some confusion among the waitstaff because they kept trying to wait each others tables. Water is served in a large refillable glass bottle for the table, but ice wasn't provided and water was just below room temperature and tasted like it was from the tap. The decor suggests high end, but the table next to us had their burgers served in a basket and red and white checkered paper. The table behind us left without their steak dinner because of kitchen problems. I love bold flavor and gourmet food (much to my husbands dismay), however, the options didn't make sense, or go together, and more over the quality of the food wasn't worth the price. Shady Rest, Water Street, and Lamp Post provide better options and more flavor at the same price. I miss the old High Velocity...they had the best burgers in Ocean County, an easy to maneuver menu with great staff...this may be a visual improvement but it's a loss for us! read more
