Recently moved in, neighbors are pretty friendly. Some divergence from the sample unit to the real unit that alters our intended usage (i.e. the second bathroom is not directly accessible from the living room, only via the bedroom). Also is heated unevenly, so some rooms are very warm and others much colder. Makes heating unpredictable at the moment, will see when winter arrives. Maintenance speed and execution was excellent (they almost came too quickly as we requested a time when we were available). Jim & Louie were great at fixing the few minor issues at move in time. They also gave use some helpful info from personal experience (one lives in complex). Front office is helpful, but they don't always have all of the answers since the complex is not privately owned. read more

Do not move here! This whole entire complex is full of mold. The management is the quickest turnaround every six months over 20 managers in the course of this place just starting a few decades ago. It's now a dump. The managers are always lousy and then quit anyway. The maintenance is absolutely terrible. Don't think they will help efficiency ever. Their pool is gross, and cold when it says it's heated. A dog park where dogs get sick after using it. Nothing for kids to do after they turn 4 with the playground only for small elementary and younger kids. Can't put a basketball net up or play ball anywhere. The gym is so small. No business room. Something is always broken with the machines or they are just so old. It's pathetic. Can't count on anyone there to really be an advocate to help feel good about being a resident. If they find you are asking for too much help, they will deem you an annoyance and will find something to file an eviction process even if they have to make stuff up and know you won't be able to fight against a huge cooperation. (Former resident of about 2 years in Marlborough, MA - never late on rent and no complaints lodged against me) Be advised that when you move out, they will charge you random amounts for cleaning and "repairs", and I'm talking hundreds if not thousands of dollars. They will then sick their debt collector goons on you who will harass you for years. They will try to affect your credit and harass you until they get the absurd amounts of money they claim for nothing at all. I paid rent, pet rent, and was an excellent tenant for two years, and THAT is how Stone Gate will reward you. Good luck with that. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE!! This is legitimately the worst experience I've had living anywhere, and with management EVER. If I could give this place zero stars I would, they do not care about the health, safety or wellbeing of their tenants, only their commissions. They will be incredibly nice through the tour, application and move in process, and then they will leave you high and dry as you uncover COUNTLESS problems (from electrical insufficiencies, to water damage, to illegal entry of our unit on several occasions). If you have children or pets, they are not safe here. The office will tell you to contact upper management with complaints, but you will never actually be able to get a hold of upper management (I'm pretty sure they don't even exist at this point, our lawyer hasn't even been able to get a response, and yes it has escalated to pursuing legal action due to the severity of the mistreatment we have experienced.) This place will neglect you and bleed your pockets dry. Also the photos online are 1000% edited and/or staged because it does NOT look that nice here, half the things in the gym are broken, the pool is almost always closed due to issues in the summer and really there aren't any other amenities despite their advertising. Terrible. Simply put. They advertise and charge premium prices for slap jobs and dry rot. Something is ALWAYS broken. The grounds and common areas are always trashy, yes literal trash as in discarded couches in the road. They want to believe they are @Avalon and are always promising upgrades. This place has been so mismanaged it's almost comical. Day 4 and still without AC- no communication from our office and now we have mold growing on the ceiling. Common amenities rarely are available, much of the summer the pool was broken. None of the grills are operational. Grounds are often are trashy. The hallways and carpets are disgusting and smell like mildew. Update: 9/23/21 - it's been 3 weeks. The AC/Fan/Heat unit is broken again, it's been 3 days with no response from management. The fix for the mold was to paint over it. And as you will see from the second photo taken a few mins ago, this didn't solve anything, the black mold continues to grow. We've made calls to our management office where Nicole assured someone one would be out to address the issues- no show. Mario, the leasing manager has yet to reach out. Corporate office has been absolutely no help whatsoever. 18-2k/month and continued breach of contract- avoid Stone Gate & Greystar like the black mold that it is. read more

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!! I've been renting from other apartments complexes for several years and have never had such a terrible experience!!! I wish I could leave negative stars they don't even deserve 1 star. 1. They tried to raise my rent $210 per month at the time of my lease renewal stating this is fair market value and did no improvements in my apartment. 2. When I moved into my so called luxury apartment there were bugs everywhere! It took 3 treatments to get rid of the bugs and no one seemed to take any sense of urgency! 3. Snow removal is a joke! 4. Dog poop is everywhere! I filed a complaint with the leasing office that someone left poop right outside my building door and it sat there for days! 5. Don't expect to get your deposit back!! Outrageous claims of "damages" that you will be charged for! I have a stain smaller than the size of a penny on my carpet after living there for 2 years. No pets, no kids. They charged my $175 for stain removal! They also charged me $600 to repaint the walls which was shocking to me as I thought was something they did when ever a renter leaves as they flip the apartments! Clearly they don't repaint or change carpets as leasing staff say! If you do not leave the apartment EXACTLY as they gave it to you (which they will state is in the contract) you will owe them money. I have been living at Stonegate since 2016. I have been unable to get management to fix a building infrastructure problem despite numerous contact with the apartment management company. Since September 2018, I have requested, repeatedly, via emails and phone calls to apartment manager, Mr. Jeffrey Pereira to locate and rectify an electricity usage issue: Despite of the fact, my apartment was vacant and all circuit breakers were turned off with the exception of the furnace, the electricity usage in KWHs had been up-to-10 times of the average usage of the past 3 years. NationalGrid has certified that the electricity meter is accurate. Mr. Jeffrey has refused to assume ownership of the problem and has insisted that I bear all expenses in investigating and diagnosing the problem which is clearly an infrastructure problem of the building. His insistence means if no problem is "found" I will have to pay for the bills of the diagnosis effort. This infrastructure problem is obviously correlated to ambient temperatures. The April electricity usage is less than 1% of that in January. The likely cause is that Stonegate fixed a hallway heater in December of 2018 which is most probably hooked up to my electrical meter. read more

This apartment complex is so deceiving! Don't rent from them. It is not worth the money and is run very poorly. I was a first time renter and they could smell the opportunity to rob me blind the minute I walked in the door. They spun a story of how nice everything is and how easy it is to move in as well as how much I would pay... little did I know I was in for a surprise. The people have no coordination what so ever so if you talk to one person you better hope to God you talk to the same person the rest of the time there. No one knows what is going on and the "manager" is not managing anything. I have also talked numerous times to management about my issues with rent and their overall lack of customer service. I have gotten no where and was made to cry by the manager. When trying to ask questions I get, "I don't understand what you don't get." I would rather get a root canal then speak with these people again. The apartment itself is pretty nice but not worth the obscene amount of money I pay every month. Their automatic payment system is glitchy and they will blame you if the wrong amount of money is taken out and send you an eviction notice when it is their fault. You would expect some level of service from a "luxury apartment" complex. There should be some respect and customer awareness when you are dropping 1300/month. I could go on and on but please do yourself a favor and rent from anyone other than Stonegate Apartments. read more

I want to thank the Stonegate Team (management staff, maintenance staff, and snow removal team), for assisting me when needed. The management team printed documents I needed and always cheerfully. The maintenance team promptly answers my call when I shout out for an issue I have in my apartment (love them), and the snow removal team , although busy doing their own job, stopped for a minute to push my car out of the icy rut I created. I've lived here for years. Have watched different management companies come and go , but Greystar is doing a great job and I would recommend Stonegate to anyone looking for a great place to live. read more

We moved in to Stone Gate Apartments in November 2016 and we are already considering moving out because of second hand smoke entering our unit. Our neighbor is a heavy smoker and we are subjected to inhaling that on daily basis. This has been a very serious issue for us. It is a little over a month that we have moved in and we are having a very hard time calling it home. We cannot use the kitchen without smelling cigarette odor sipping through. The sharing wall is not insulated and our neighbor uses the garbage disposal as an ashtray, which causes a lot of problems for us. Second hand smoke is very unhealthy and causes many issues. I encourage the management to look into this very seriously. read more

What a deceiving place! It looks modern and clean when they show it to u but that is NOT what u get. Worn, pealing, used, dirty! U can hear the upstairs neighbors pee! There is absolutely no sound proofing. Looks like it's just recently built but OH SO POORLY! Trash, section 8 everywhere. I understand people need assistance in life, but it's like the've found the meanest, trashiest, loudest, smelliest, dirtiest people that have ever existed. I'm mainly referring to my upstairs neighbors that are rude, talk dirty, talk about sexually explicit things when our children are around just cuz they want drama. Moved to Stonegate a few months ago and really like it. My apartment was immaculate when I moved in. Lovely finishes and great closet space plus garage. Pool is a nice feature. Quiet community. Eduin has been great to deal with beginning with the tour/application process and a few other items over the past few months. He's professional, reliable and gets things done. When I had some rather large boxes delivered to the office I mentioned I wasn't sure how I'd manage to get them up the flight of stairs to my apartment. Without hesitation, Eduin offered to carry them up for me. He's a valuable asset to the team at Stonegate. read more

I had the unfortunate opportunity to move into a brand new building that had just opened at Stone Gate in 2007, before there were very many people living there. At first, the apartment itself was nice, because I was literally the only person in the building, and had no noise issues, or any of the other problems described about the quality of the neighbors here in the other reviews. However, from day 1, there were problems with the employees in the office. The maintenance guys were cool, but the office people were the furthest thing from it. Especially the manager, Cheryl. She should've been fired within days of opening the complex. Her condescending attitude and childish behavior went far beyond the pale with any housing I have dealt with up until that point, and still today. Her antics were on par with a junior high schooler in a lunch room full of troubled children with no supervision. Also, the sidewalk/walkway plan that they had drawn up to show where handicapped entrances would be was not adhered to when they finished building. There was supposed to be a handicapped entrance/ramp built right in front of the doorway to my building. Instead, they just covered the area with grass. I pointed out to them that my aunt could not enter my building because of this. Did they care? No. I reported them to the city housing authority for this. When I first moved in, it was annoying that so many things in a brand new building were in need of repair (including a huge bulge sticking out of a freshly built wall), but it was easy to get the repair guys in to fix it, even if they didn't fix it so well. The longer I lived there, the less my reports of needed repairs were even paid attention to. Many things were never fixed, all the way up until the day that I decided to move out, because I couldn't take it any more. Oh, one more thing - They filed a false lawsuit in district court to try to collect money that I didn't even owe them. After I confronted them about it, they said they'd have the suit dropped. Guess what? They didn't. They let it default. I received a letter that I had a default judgement against me for money that was never even owed. They said they'd correct this, but never did. read more

We have lived here for a couple of years and are very happy with it. We live in a 3 bedroom on the 3rd floor. It is very spacious. We do not have any problem with noise. We do not use the pool often, but when we have it has been very nice. The little playground area is great for our grandchildren. We have also enjoyed the grilling area. We have stayed longer than planned because we like the carefree living. read more

Every since I drove up to the place I have referred to it as a resort. You can tell they do a great job at keeping the place clean and up to date. I have had no issues with management. StoneGate has been a home away from home for about 3 years. When we settled in we appreciated the friendliness of office and maintenance staff and the respectful care they provided their residents, this for the most part existed until Q4 2017. Since Q4 we have seen a steady and significant transition from a well cared for community and very respectful and responsive management team, to a StoneGate in NEED of substantial repair, general upkeep and responsible onsite management. There are 2 remaining maintenance staff who are great guys, (2 others left for greener pastures and have not been back-filled) they desperately work to keep up with the demand of a community of well over 100 apartments. Since Greystar took over management from Monogram in late 2017 we have seen 3 senior management turns and a direct march to Apathy and Disrespect for residents and prospective residents. Responses from senior onsite management to emails, calls and visits are not returned or avoided altogether. One bright spot is Mo***n - the sales agent in the rental office. There has been a serious disregard by pet owners to clean up after their dogs and a despondent attitude by management to properly address the vast dog waste left throughout the community (don't walk on the dirt/grass/weed areas). Often "Amenities" are out of service, unusable or restricted for varied reason. Another area that needs to be addressed is the garbage collection areas; many residents don't realize garbage goes in the dumpsters (when not full) versus around the dumpsters. There are a some positive things with StoneGate; 1) Units although mostly outdated are being updated as tenants move out, 2) Apartments are fairly spacious compared to competing properties in the area, 3) Ample parking throughout the community, 4) Most residents are friendly and share dialog (but I do hear the complaints share above often), 5) Pool Area is fairly well maintained Memorial day to Labor day. read more

I was told when I left and after my apartment was inspected my deposit would be sent to me. Instead, I find out a collection agency was inquiring of my credit report for money I owe them, even though I never received a notice from them. This place is very deceiving. Go to Bell Marlborough for an immaculate and peaceful place with nice ammenities and good quality features. Theres also 2 more new apartment complexes nearby and better located. I've been living here for 7 months now and can't wait to move out. The office is the only place that looks and smells good. They show you a very nicely decorated apartment so you buy into the "luxury apartment living" thing. So here's my list: Pros: Office employees are nice, bedroom in my top floor unit is big enough to fit my king sized bed, dresser and 2 nightstands comfortably, the bathtub is XL. Cons: - In general, the place is dirty. You can find trash, cigarrette butts and dog waste all over the green areas. At the office entrance there is a sticker that says its a smoke free environment but people smoke all around the complex, balconies and even one of my neighbors smokes in the apartment and the smell is in the hallways. The grills and seat cushiins in the pool area are filthy and worn out. Hallways are dirty and smelly. The carpets scream for replacement. - The maintenance request calls are taken at a call center in some other state by really rude Customer service representatives who don't have any empathy or sense of urgency. - The kitchen and bathroom cabinets have very narrow and shallow shelving and are of poor quality. If the shelves or drawers get wet they bulge and stain and it will not be replaced. None of the appliances are energysaver. The stove in my unit doesnt even have a preheating setting for the oven!! The cabinet doors have a plastic lining simulating wood and it peels off easily. I reported it since the day I was given the keys to move in and sent pictures and I am still waiting for them to be replaced. All the fixtures and finishes in the kitchen and bathroom are of poor quality. Not luxurious at all! - The climate controls are analogous so you wont be able to program the temperatures and the electricity and gas bills are ridiculously high. Also the monthly water and sewage is ridiculous. I live by myself, travel a lot, never use the dishwasher, never fill the bathtub, do laundry every two weeks and spend all day out since I work long hours and I have gotten monthly water bills of $60+ something is wrong here! - They promote themselves as pet friendly and request a pet deposit of $300 and a monthly fee of $70!!! However, in the pet policy in their website says its $60... Its important to note that in MA it is illegal to charge for pet rent. You would think that they would offer some amenities since they ask for pets since they charge so much for esch pet, but no. There is a dog park, thats looks like a re-purposed space. Its basically a fenced in space the size of a tennis court filled with mulch, that has a trash can, a bench and that's it. It is uneven so puddles form when it rains and people dont pickup after their dogs so you would find surprises if you walk in the mulch. They have stations with dog waste bags but when they run out they take months to replace them. They "clean" the hallways with a strong smelling orange detergent. The kind of detergent thats toxic for dogs and cats. That its not pet friendly to me. - Having a doormat in outside of your door is not allowed. How are you suposed to keep the light ivory colored carpet clean? They used a cheap Black mulch that creates ash-like dust and its all over the place. The entire apartment incluiding the tiny dining room is covered in carpet with the exception of the kitchen and bathroom. - Walls are so thin I can hear the neighbor from across the hall having sex with her boyfriend. - The club house is pretty but does not offer much. - They have so many stupid rules for the pool... You have to sign in even if you live here, visitors (max of 2) need a pool pass that is basically a home made printed piece of paper with film over it and in tiny print it says you have to pay $50 if you lose it. They have specific rules on proper swimsuits (really are you telling people what to wear??!) , toys or inflatables are not allowed, even adults cant swim in the 4ft deep pool unless theres a lifeguard. - So many kids running and screaming around! Parents not watching. Be careful, kids can bolt from anywhere in the parking lot. Im OK with the noise but Stone Gate promotes itself as a peaceful relaxing place and its not. read more

Very beautiful to look at.. Not at all friendly to visit or live in. I personal was just a guest for a week (from California), while my daughter and her Sister on the other hand stayed with their father that lives here for a month. This is not a family friendly community. The pool was the icing on the cake... Apparently you have to "sign in" in order to even use the pool? And the list of endless restrictions/rules are ridiculous. "Under 16 not allowed in Spa" at all?! "Adults not to swim alone" really?! Wow... My kids brought 4 pool rings (the kind you dive for) that are MADE for pools, life guard said they were not allowed pool toys. He also kicked them out of pool to take a break.. After they were only in pool for 10 minutes! Regardless that I was literally 10 feet from them (or that my child,who attends surf camp and lives on the COAST can probably swim better than he can) or that it's only 4ft deep and both kids are far taller than that! I was appalled. We left! If this is typical of MA... I'll stay on California. read more

I have moved 11 times in 14 years (mostly work related) and I must say while the amenities are similar to other luxury apartment complexes, the customer service here is excellent. All maintenance requests were handled same day with a smile. Everyone at the front office is extremely polite and wants to help. I would recommend this complex. read more

I've seen alot of bad reviews of this place and don't really understand it. It is very expensive to live here, but it is in a prime location (easy access to 495) and is a pretty new and nice complex, which is hard to find in MA (in my experience at least). It also has a washer and dryer in the unit which is also hard to find. The office staff has been nice to me, as has the maintenance team - if you are polite they will be polite back. There are section 8 people here, but they are in every APT complex in MA. All said and done I would recommend the place if you can afford it. I may or may not stay depending on what happens with my rent, but if I move out I will likely look for a private rental in order to avoid big expensive apartment complex. read more

A little late with the review but basically its a tale of two cities. One is the area you see when you come to visit. Lots of flowers and bushes, nice lawn. The clubhouse area is very nice and everyone seems friendly. Then you rent from them and realize that the worn out apartment you have rented, barely resembles the one you toured. The building are not well maintained. The maintenance staff is very polite but some are way over there heads in the skill level and they dont call in professionals to handle your issues, they allow the staff to try to figure it out. The bushes, flowers etc are filled with animal waste , because picking up after your pet is not a priority. Speaking of pets they claim they dont allow dangerous breeds but there are plenty living there. The appliances are original and barely function. I could go on and on. My best advice is just to keep going and rent somewhere else as there are plenty of other places in the area. Oh and wait until your water / sewer bill comes. A nice large surprise awaits you there. You will get one monthly, but the town only reads the complexes meter every other month... something quite wrong there. The best thing I did was move. read more
