I am disappointed with Suk, owner or manager, of this long time local flooring business, and his way to look at my request with a floor they installed in July 2020. I discovered the floor showing warping or curving up at seams in December 2022 under the kitchen table. Obviously the seams pushing up/ moving like that does not happen over night. I took photo. After sending online contacts through their website, calls, and text, then on 4/15/23, the text sent in past reads, "Again, I am chasing you for help on the floor installed." It goes on a bit more. Towards end reads, " I am surprised by the lack of time and attention and communication." He text, "I will talk to you on Monday afternoon." He didn't. He didn't any of the times I reached out. Stone Habitat worked with my wife on obtaining all the right tiles for our home remodel in Minnesota. We started in 2021 and purchased four (4) different tiles for our home, including a wall tile. Beeta and her husband warehoused our tile purchase for over two years before our remodeling started. They shipped about 16,000 lbs. of tile to us with no issues. The tile, manufactured in Italy, could not be found in Minnesota. The tile had no issues during and from shipping and we finally had it installed in April/May of 2024 plus we went back to Vernon Hills to get another 400 sq. ft of tile. They were professional, knowledgeable, flexible, excellent communication throughout the process. The tiles look great and make a huge impact. I am an interior designer with 16 years of experience with specifying and installing countertops both real stone and synthetics. I was very UNHAPPY with the customer service I received from this fabricator/seller. After I had chosen the faux marble ( quartz) I wanted for this job, Sehk (owner?) instructed me to go to the warehouse to look at samples and choose a slab. This is a procedure I have followed countless times. When I told the sales person at the warehouse my choice she showed me the sample slab they have in the show room. I asked if the slabs were all the same and she said yes. The sample slab had consistent marbling and no "bare spots" without color. She then assured me there was no reason to choose a specific slab because they were all the same. When my counter tops came, one of them had a large area with no marbling in it at all! It looked terrible. The other top was "normal" and had even marbling throughout the top with no "bare spots". When I called to complain about the lack of consistency in the stone Sehk was instantly defensive and talking over me and dismissing my complaint without even asking to see a photo of what I was talking about. He continued to interrupt me before I could get my information across to him. Eventually I had to ask him to quit talking and please let me finish a sentence. He eventually did let me speak but continued to deny any responsibility or offer me any consolation for my dissatisfaction. After my insistence, I was told by Sehk that he would contact the warehouse and try to accommodate my request to remediate the situation but not surprisingly he never got back to me. In addition to this the installers never showed up on the day we scheduled (I had an email confirmation). I had to call to find out why they were not at the install and was never given a good answer. In my 16 years of installing counter tops I have never complained about an installation or a product. I know how to choose a slab and how it will lay out and what to expect upon delivery. This job was very unsatisfactory and I would NOT RECOMMEND using Stone habitat based on my experience as a designer who has worked with many installers. read more

Well I have read reviews and had a great experience with this store . They helped me pick out some tiles for my backsplash which I love. They sent their guys to do work. We had a few mistakes, but they resent them out, and fixed all. No hassles and did a great job! Will use their service again. read more

Very disappointed with Stone Habitat! Their customer service and communication is absolutely horrible!!!! I ordered 2 small granite tops for a dressing table back in July and was told that they would be finished in 10-12 business days. As of the first part of October, our pieces were still not completed. I felt like I kept getting the run around from this company. I would call and leave messages in regards to our pieces and they rarely ever returned my phone calls/emails. Maybe only 2-3 times in that whole 3 month period. They finally made the piece and somehow they got broke so they told me that they would make me something similar to them, but not with the material that I originally chose. Then they lost my templates for the pieces and would not come pick them up since I live an hour away. They told me that I needed to meet them at least half way to give them new templates, then when I suggested a half way point, they were hesitant to even do that telling me that they would call me back. By that point, I had had enough! I called my credit card company and demanded to be reimbursed for the pieces that we paid for back in July and never received. I found another stone company and they were awesome to work with! Not only did I get exactly what I originally wanted, but they were done within 2 weeks and almost $200 less than Stone Habitat!!!! I wouldn't even give 1 star for Stone Habitat and never will we attempt to do business with them again!!!! read more

Initially I really liked this place. We went to bunch of granite dealers and had them send our selections to stone habitat. They were hesitant but ended up quoting us for a bunch of different colors so we had an idea of where we needed to be in terms of cost. When we were about ready for our countertop, we went to look at the granite dealers again. They meet us at the dealer and spent a lot of time with us and this is where what would have been 5 stars ended. We were told we could have any leftovers from the slab which we never got. We were also told there was going to be a modification (after the guys came out to measure) which I am still unclear as to what this modification was. No mention that this so called "modification" would cost us more money until AFTER the countertop was installed. The counter top looks great despite the fact that a couple pieces were cut choppy but I didn't complain because we were able to hide that with our backsplash. read more

Stone Habitat has been extremely difficult to work with. They have messed our order up multiple times...even worse they did not keep communication lines open when it was all happening. I spent way to much time trying to reach them and resolve issues over mistakes they made on the phone. I was the one trying to contact them instead of the other way around. There was no apologies or explanations...only hurried/rushed messages about how they would be in contact with me and figure something out. I had to do all the calling. As I type this I am waiting for them to arrive to fix a mistake that was made to our order. I was told someone would call me with an estimated time of arrival...there has been no call and they are half an hour past the time frame they provided. Our remodel project has taken three weeks longer because of dealing with them. I would really think twice about making a purchase here. They were great to deal with in the store....once we left, our dealings with them have been complete chaos. I will never give them business again...if you do, be ready to have mishaps....or try to work with Beeta as much as possible. She did not seem incompetent compared to the individual that has been in charge of our order. read more
