After 15 plus years of ordering pizza from SH Pizza on our vacations, we had a very disappointing experience. The large pizza used to be huge but this one was medium size and the taste was very bland. Not sure if there was a change of ownership or cutting costs with what seemed like a remodel. Next year we will need to go elsewhere. Delivery service with ordering on the phone and delivery itself was good so that was the 2 stars. read more

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had in years - which was very surprising considering our experiences at The Reeds in the past. Our waitress was very pleasant as was the manager we encountered but everything we ordered other than drinks came out wrong. We ordered pizza fries, a fried chicken sandwich (dry) and a pizza with prosciutto. We ended up getting an order of regular fries, a fried chicken sandwich with lots of mayo and a bruschetta pizza. We sent the pizza back but still got a check with 2 pizzas on it and one comped (no comp in reality). When I spoke with the manager privately - he took the fries off. By the time we had the pizza ~25-30 minutes had passed since my wife had her chicken sandwich (with a new roll). The pizza was pretty tasty but for the prices the service was abysmal and embarrassing for a restaurant marketed under The Reeds name. read more

Nice location, few other positives. We ordered three beers and three pizzas, one of the beers was a different color than the rest and all the pizzas had uncooked dough. The bruschetta was mediocre and for reason deconstructed. The pub berry was refreshing and the boneless Buffalo bites were pretty good but I'd had better from Wawa. read more

I felt the need to review this restaurant because they did right by their wrongdoings. While vacationing in Avalon last week, the adults on the trip visited a bar/restaurant that didn't allow kids, so they went to this place in the meantime. When they told us how their meal was, we were all horrified by the service they received. It's unfortunate that they were treated differently and looked down upon because they weren't accompanied by adults. The next day, we called the restaurant and explained to the manager, Joe, what had happened the night before and he was extremely apologetic and knew exactly which waiter we were talking about. It was likely the result of a rogue waiter that he knew about. Joe was nice enough to comp some food for us to make up for the horrible treatment that the kids received. It was very generous of him and we wanted to thank him for his kindness. read more

We ordered buffalo wings, fried mozzarella and the Mediterranean Salad for appetizers which were really good. However, before we took our first bite of our apps, the pizzas arrived at our table. We sent them back but they appeared 5 minutes later. We had ordered a plain, pepperoni and a Viva Luna. The pizzas were very doughy and offered no discerning taste. Yep two stars. Beers were good, full bar and great atmosphere. Pizza not so much. If your calling yourself a pizza resturant you need to learn how to cook pizza and get yourself a pizza oven . So, looks good on top but soggy and limp underneath. Dough was not cooked and looked like it was cooked on the aluminum pan and not on the oven base. Sent ours back twice and they still couldn't get it right. You would think on the second time you would just make a new pizza. Food cost on pizza is like $1.50 or less. If you don't have the right oven then bake the crust first for a few minutes and then add the toppings and finish in the oven. We even specifically asked not to have a sogglimp pizza and cook it a little longer when we first order. What you see on the website is not what you get. Wait staff excellent and loved the drinks. I've had a better Frozen pizza then this. It's DiGiorno pizza in a fancy building. Oh and service is so so. Stay away and save your money.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. First off, we ordered two salads, one Mediterranean and one Caesar salad with chicken, and a Stone Harbor pizza. The salads came pretty fast, which at the time seemed like a good thing. The Caesar salad was nothing but lettuce, and when you got to the chicken, it was cold and looked and tasted like pre-packaged chicken. The other salad however was surprisingly good. The pizza came about twenty minutes AFTER the salads. So, the salads were mostly done when it came. And if a pizza took a long time to make, you would expect it to be good, right? Well, not this pizza. Surprisingly it was undercooked even though it took longer than expected to make. And don't even get me started on the sauce. The equivalent to that sauce would be drinking a cup of tomato juice. The pizza was supposed to have mozzarella cheese on it, and don't get me wrong some pieces did have good portions of it on them, but others barely had any. They were just slices of sauce. We really wish that we had read the reviews before we had come here. read more

Not sure how I feel about Reeds taking over most of the businesses on this block (the new facade and interior of SHP is impressive though!), but it's much more convenient (and pricy, obviously) to have a bar on site. Their pizza is and has always been awesome- my preference on the island. SHP needs to figure out their seating methodology, though. To eat outside, which in the past most people have, there is a separate entrance to the right of the 'pub' itself. Inside, the bar tables are first come first serve. We brought my older Grandmom (lots of steps to get into actual building), put our name in to eat outside, and were told that it would be about a 30 minute wait. After 45 minutes, we checked with the host again... party of 5 including my grandmother.. the host just seemed to be not be familiar with accommodating seating or the layout. Will have to be more specific next time. read more

Pizza and local draft beer.. I'm all over that. We arrived and had to wait a bit for a table but the girls at the counter and our server were really friendly and the decor is great, love the white washed bricks and fixtures. The deck wasn't open yet but that gives me a reason to return. Had a great brew from Slack Tide-could have done without the miserable bartender. Yes, I have questions about the beer you are serving. You are serving said beer, deal with it. Loved the pizza and salad, didn't mind the price. It's Stone Harbor and yes things are a bit more expensive here. What I really have a problem with however is my food being served on paper plates. As if we don't have enough in the landfills. In fact I never want to have to try to cut my Caesar salad on a paper plate again. Hoping this was just a temporary thing. I would've gone with four stars if not for the plates. read more

Disappointing at best. Ordered two pies for take out - one plain, one bruschetta. Bruschetta was on the menu as a "special" - far from it! Cardboard crust and about 8 small pieces of tomato. The toppings hardly covered half the pie. Plain pie tasted as much like cardboard as the bruschetta. Heating a frozen pie would've been more fulfilling. Eaten there before and the service was horrible - sadly now matches by the food. Shame. read more

Let me start by saying our server was very nice, attentive and apologetic. I ordered the 4 meatball with marinara, garlic bread and ricotta. Imagine taking your first bite and the marinara is cold and meatball just warm and garlic bread stale. Major let down. My wife's cheesesteak came 10 minutes later and the fries were not hot, sandwich Luke warm. Margherita were watered down. Manager came by and took my meatballs off bill (good gesture). We then walked down to the Burger bar and had an awesome Spicy Margherita and wings for .49 cents each! Stone Harbor Pizza is owned by the Reeds and is a huge disappointment! Went today to the pizza pub, they messed up our order multiple times, given the wrong food, didn't have most of their listed beers and the food they did get correct was bland, for those prices you'd expect something better. To top it all off it's mid November, 42°F and they decided to open the patio doors wide open so it became freezing in the entire restaurant and when asked they said it was "for live entertainment to be heard. The sweet chili wings were quite a disappointment as the seasoning seemed watered down, and the buffalo chicken pizza was a bit too doughy. The fries were good, but how do you mess up fries? Service was just average, and the food is overpriced, you might be better off staying in and making some homemade pizza. read more

The pizza here is delicious and so I've been coming for several years whenever I visit my family in Avalon. I thinks it's better than other pizza restaurants in Avalon and Stone Harbor. My family likes to get sausage, mushrooms, and olive pies. The mushrooms are quite big and I think they use whole kalamata olives. I am gluten free so I always get a personal pizza for myself and I have never had any problems with contamination. Also, the sauce is really good too! Normally, we like to sit on the patio and enjoy the water view, but with the covid19 pandemic, we've gotten takeout this year and that worked well. read more

The pizza was fire grilled and was very tasty. The salad was really large and was plenty to share. Pretty place with a nice atmosphere.

Came here in a group of 6, and were told it would be a 10 minute wait. We waited at least 50 minutes, and during that time, two other large families (one a family of 5) were let in. Once we were finally brought to a table, we sat there for about half an hour, and in that time, no one stopped to get our orders. It is not because they were understaffed or anything of that sort - all of the tables surrounding us were being served as you would expect. This place has really cool scenery to sit outside. We sat outside since it was nice out. Order our drinks and apps. The waiter took longer then we hope. I don't know if he was waiting both in and outside. We ordered fries for app the cheese on the side was cold. Which then you really can't enjoy the fries. Now Pizza was great!!! Come here every year with my family and it is outstanding, or at least used to be. The new owners renovated and changed the entire menu. Even the vibes of the restaurant and its staff did not feel the same. The pizza was served on paper plates and the drinks were served in solo cups. To top it off, although it is not byob, their was a $30 corking fee for a bottle of wine. Extremely overpriced and the pizza was disappointing.
