This place used to be great. We are there 2 years ago and had to send food back because it was cold. Ate there again today and service was extremely slow. My Marguerita tasted like it had no alcohol and we waited longer than I like to put our order in and receive our drinks. We waited an hour and still had no food. Finally I complained and asked for the food to go. Still we waited. Finally I said I wouldn't pay for food we waited so long for. We finally got the food but had to leave as we had an 8 month baby with us. The wait staff were friendly enough but at today's prices I expect better and faster service. Harbor Burger Bar is located right in Stone Harbor surrounded by all of their amazing shops. It's a great place to grab a drink at a bar or eat after a long day of shopping. They have a nice size bar with many different drink options. I had an Aperol Spritz and it was pretty good. Next, I had their loaded nachos and trust me when I say they were loaded. They satisfied every craving I had for bar food nachos. Then I ate their Cali burger which was good and I really enjoyed their homemade chips that were paired with it. The one neat thing about this place is it is attached to a movie theater. So you can grab a bite to eat and then go watch a movie. If you are ever in Stone Harbor and want a drink or some food. July 2022 I went here for the first time and it was a good experience. Located right on 96th street in part of the movie theater it is unique. We ordered the crab dip and it was served with warm pita triangles. I thought it was ok- I've had way better. The burger itself was cooked medium as I requested. Very thick burger and fresh tomato onion and lettuce and white cheddar cheese. For 15$ it was decent but fries are an upgrade. Of course. I stuck with the house chips it came with and they were good. My son ordered an espresso martini and that was a staggering 15$ drink! Gulp! I wish I had room for the cookie skillet with Ice-cream but alas I was full. While I did enjoy the meal- I prefer Fred's Tavern. It was delicious and I likely will go back and get my hands on the cookie skillet. I visited here a few years ago and don't recall much, but today we had an hour to kill before a movie in the attached theatre, and it was lunch time. We were going to split a sandwich or something but one of us decided on the summer salad and I struck interest in a starter made of ricotta cheese, hot honey, which turned out to mean spicy, and walnuts served with toasted crostinis. When it arrived it came in a glass jar, kind of like a jelly jar. The honey was all on the bottom and had to be mixed in. I tried dipping the bread but I found it easier to spoon it onto the bread. I really hardly know what to say about this item, because it was exactly as it was described. But somehow the taste just did not work for me. It was very sweet and the little kick from the hot honey had a chamoy vibe if you like Tex-Mex. But the texture did not work as a dip. I think it would work better on some kind of salad, kind of like hot bacon dressing if you are a Penna Dutch food afficionado. Well enough comparrisons to pseudo ethnic fare. Order this if there are 6 of you, you can each get a crostini and sample it. Otherwise you may find it a bit much as a flavor combo. The summer salad had small tomatoes listed as cherry tomatoes, which they were not. But most people think they are one and the same anyway. It seemed refreshing and a good choice for end of summer fare. We both got unsweet tea and it was nicely brewed. The bill with tip was about $55 or so for the two of us. A bit more than we had been looking for but with the proximity to the movie we were set. The wait staff was very attentive but not overly so and our food came out quickly, which we expected it would. It came with a side of sour cream and left MUCH to be desired (would have preferred some guac, salsa, cilantro, onions or shredded cheese). I got the bison burger with a gluten free bun and sweet potato fries- probably the best item on their menu, tbh. The caramelized onions were FABULOUS and the bison patty hit the spot, but the bun was definitely a bit dense and dry so the flavor of the burger itself was completely overpowered- once I started eating it open face, it was much better. The sweet potato steak-style fries were quite delectable as well- although some of the bigger pieces were hard and not cooked through all the way, but the average size piece was crispy on the outside, soft in, which is ideal. I can't understand why the correct menu is not linked to the correct website. Once a person can get to the correct menu, it still isn't updated w/the correct info. I do appreciate the renovated movie theater but the restaurant is providing false advertisement stating that you can order a spiked shake to watch w/your movie. So disappointed. I went to this restaurant to grab a bite after seeing a movie. I ordered a crab cake sandwich. My order came out within a couple minutes. My dad and I visited the theater for the matinee showing of Star Wars a few weeks ago. We were thrilled to find out we could bring our food into the theater with us! I got the Turkey Burger with Truffle fries. The burger was a bit dry and not very flavorful. The fries stole the show. It was a bit overpriced for the mediocrity of the burger. It has a really cool interior and is located inside the movie theater. Our waitress was nice and attentive to anything we needed. This drink was perfect since it had whiskey, ginger beer, peach schnapps and a splash of sour. It was very smooth. My boyfriend ordered the Cape May beer and was pleased with it. For the food, I ordered the Surf-N-Turf burger medium rare. The meat was cooked exactly how I liked it. It was topped with a remoulade sauce, goat cheese, lettuce, tomato, and crab meat. The bun was brioche bread. This burger tasted great. It would've been better if there was more crab meat on it though. I was expecting a good amount since the menu described it as jumbo lump crabmeat. For the side, it comes with kettle chips, but I upgraded to truffle fries instead. The fries were thin and crispy with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese over them. They were perfect. It wasn't served with the truffle aioli though as I expected. My boyfriend ordered the Pork Three Way burger and upgraded to regular fries as his side. He enjoyed the flavors. The bacon and prosciutto were apparent, but could barely taste the pulled pork since the amount was minimal. Overall, this place was good. The menu is creative and the staff was nice. Situated right in the Stone Harbor downtown , Harbor Burger Bar is one of the more unique restaurants I have been to. It's nestled in the lobby of a movie theater so you can smell that overpriced buttery goodness while housing down a burger. What I liked most about this place? It was all about the burgers, beers and basketball (at least last night). Our group ordered 2 of the Brussels to start for the table but it proved to be too much so I had to eat one of them solely....my stomach is not thanking me as I write this review. For the burger, I ordered the breakfast burger which had bacon and a fried egg on it. I added some Mikes Hot Honey which was a fuego move, 10/10 would recommend! The patty had decent flavor but the bacon was cooked to perfection which put the whole burger over the top. What needs some work? The sweet potato fries were bland but that could be chalked up to the fact me and the boys (shout out Pat & Christian) ripped some stogies a few hours prior so my taste buds were shot. Another gripe of mine was that the service was booty cheeks. When the beers start flowing and I have an empty glass for 5 minutes, I am not a happy camper. I have had better food at diners , chains and almost every other type of restaurant. $13 for a margarita flatbread pizza. It was tiny and basically jar sauce on a bit of bread. My son got the filet tips sandwich for $16. It was dry and had canned mushrooms on it. The food would be overpriced if it was half the price they charge. Conveniently located under the movie theater, this burger place is one of the newer additions to Stone Harbor this summer. They have a decent craft beer selection on tap, but there's no menu for the draft or the bottles. They have a small cocktail menu though, with prices starting at $10. They had a lot of staff but only one server, which was a little strange. We started with the mozzarella sticks which were really delicious and hot, but it only came with 3 and they were $10. We were going to order the pretzels with beer cheese, but after watching the next table receive theirs, it looked like it was only an order of 2 or 3 of the type of pretzel that you microwave from the freezer, for about $12 (which is ridiculous, I might as well go to the Wawa down the road and I could make the same ones). We ordered the Texas burger, and the meat was cooked well and as requested but the barbeque sauce lacked flavor. The fries, which cost extra, were really good and probably the best part of the meal. We also had the margarita flatbread, which also lacked a little flavor, so I spiced it up with red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese that I quickly requested.
