I most likely would have given it 2 stars due to my disappointing steak and eggs but, I came here about 6 months ago and had the Oyster Po Boy and it was delicious. However when I came back and had their steak and eggs it was very disappointing. The steak was small, thin, and over cooked... For the price hovering around $20 (I would expect it to be much better). Another thing, I may get heat for this but... If you want a relaxing place to talk with friends this isn't it. I may have lost some hearing from over 13 babies screaming the entire time. I get this is Park Slope, I grew up here, but it's very tough to enjoy a meal. You can't even classify me as a grouchy old man, I am in my early 20's... Great for brunch! The portions are enormous, and not crazy expensive compared to other brunch places. The pan seared bluefish cakes were good, but surprisingly, the sides were much better than the main dish. The home fries are amazing and well-seasoned, and the slaw that it came with was refreshing. I actually wish that the dish had come with more of the slaw; it only came with a tiny pile, about 3 bites. The eggs were poached perfectly. The eggs any style is a classic, and I recommend the andouille sausage (though it is spicy!) The BLT was tasty. The pork belly was crispy at the edges, but super fatty cuts. This was once a great restaurant. I took friends there for brunch today and was sorely disappointed. What should have a been savory dish of short ribs hash with eggs was a greasy overcooked mess. My toast was nearly black and slathered with butter. My husband's poached eggs with fish cakes were also overcooked. I did not call the manager and complain because I had guests but now wish I had. I called last minute on a Friday night and they confirmed my reservation without any issue. When I arrived they recognized my name and sat me right away, after giving me a tour and choice of seats. (The place was busy but there fortunately were some seats.) the table was perfect, a cute spot in the back by the window. Service was prompt and extremely polite. They got everything we ordered right away. The food was spectacular and Chuck and Tim were fantastic staff. I'm extremely particular, but the taste and pace were divine. Great brunch spot after a workout. There is usually a line for this place but we got lucky when we got there around 1pm, there was no line. We chose the eggs benedict with bacon and pancakes to share. They forgot to give us our bacon so the server went into the kitchen and came out with fresh bacon out of the stove. The eggs benedict was delicious and the buttermilk pancakes were moist and flavorful. There are outdoor seatings as well. Decided to stay indoor since it was hot out. We wanted to come here for ages before we had a day off and got our shit together in time to eat there during brunch. The menu looked insane and we wanted to try pretty much everything. Service here is not warm or particularly attentive. One of the support staff was visibly eyeing out guests during our visit and just seemed plain mean. When the food arrived, it was so-so. Some of our items were obviously reheated and not made fresh, like the po boy sandwich. The only standout were the grits. Portions were small for the price. Overall, it did not live up to any of our expectations and we were really disappointed. They did give us a little birthday dessert for my brother-in-law which was nice, but definitely didn't save the bad experience. The wait staff, wehad to keep asking for stuff starting with out two glasses of water which had lip stick stain on it. Friday night dinner review Duck confit pizzette - thin crisp bread topped with creme fraiche, tomatoes, duck confit, and topped with arugula. There wasn't much duck confit and I actually could of done without. Swiss chard raviolini had tons of mushrooms and pine nuts. The sage brown butter sauce was much lighter than I thought it would be. Husband liked his burger, subbed the fries for onion rings which were light and crispy served with chipotle aioli. Knowing that it gets packed for brunch (I had called in to try to make a reservation, but brunch is first come first served), we arrived at 10:05 and our party of 3 was seated immediately -- though the place was already 3/4 full! I had the savory short rib hash with a biscuit, which was the perfect cure for my hangover. Ask for jam to go with their gigantic homemade biscuits! I adore this place! I've been here twice for Sunday brunch and it's definitely worth a visit to Park Slope. My only complaint (and even then, not much of a complaint) is that this place only has one host to take down names for tables and to call you if there's an availability, which makes walking in hoping to be seated way awkward. Waiters pass you by and totally ignore you until you get a table. But the wait isn't usually long so it's like 5-10 minutes of awkward standing. I've gotten the Cobb salad here twice and it hasn't disappointed. Something about it is just so refreshing and delicious. The portion size is just right, too. This dish is super flavorful and u might end up licking the gravy. I got the bluefish cakes. It was a lil too fishy for my liking. It comes with two eggs, home fries, crunchy cole slaw and toast. I wouldn't recommend this dish when there's so many great options available. I ate a lot of my friends yogurt with granola parfait. It was super delicious and recommended by our friendly waitress. My very rare two and a half star review... 1. Service was slow and not too attentive. The wait itself was about 15 min which wasn't so bad for Sunday 12pm outside table. My family and I came here for brunch on a Sunday, early afternoon. There was no wait when we arrived, but we were waiting for two other people and couldn't be seated until they came. We ordered a couple of cocktails at the bar while we waited. We were seated at a table in the back of the restaurant and given menus and water as soon as we sat down. The brunch section they offer has a wide variety of brunch options, everyone I was with got something different. I went with the chef omelette, made with egg whites. It has garlic, spinach and sausage in it, it also came with a side of home fries and a bagel. I asked if they would scoop the bread out of the bagel before they toasted it, which the server said they would not do. In another review, I mentioned flashing back to a disappointing plate of biscuits and gravy. Stone Park was the offender. I dined solo on a Saturday morning. It was a last minute thing, and I picked the place on the recommendation of my yelp app. I was seated right away but only because I was alone. All the tables were packed, but the space was nice enough and bar seating was adequately roomy. However it should be noted that the music was so loud it set my teeth on edge. I'm not sure what they were trying to drown out. All the patrons looked polite and sedate. For the first few bites, my brunch seemed unobjectionable. The gravy was simple but smooth, and creamy enough. Then the thickness of the sauce began to make itself known. With each bite my tongue felt a little more coated, and as my palate acclimated any hint of pepper disappeared. White sauce is flour-based, yes, but it doesn't have to taste like flour and nothing but. This did. Perhaps I made a mistake in ordering my eggs poached. A crispier white might have helped cut the unrelenting goopiness of my meal. But I have my doubts. "Over hard" is a terrible waste of an egg, and anything else would still have contributed to the problem. Between the yolk and the sauce, my biscuit quickly became sodden and mealy, contributing to the overall feeling that everything I ate was in danger of sticking in my throat. The whole dish just desperately needed crispier bread and a more interesting gravy. While it wasn't inedible, I would call my experience sub-par. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The wait was about 20 minutes and there was a outdoor market nearby where you can spend some time. It was quite busy inside and the seating is a little crowded so there is not much room to move around or wait. I ended up getting a BLT which came with either fries or a salad. The BLT came with a nice thick slice of pork belly instead of the usual thin, crispy bacon but the amount of fat in the sandwich made me a little queasy towards the end. My friend didn't end up getting the coffee he ordered so we ended up getting it taken off the check. The fries aren't too crispy but still good (reminiscent of any fries you get at a diner). I got the pancakes and I thought they were alright. It came thick and soft, while the maple syrup was super rich. What an awesome find in Park Slope! Went with my wife and daughter for brunch this weekend and loved the place! I went with the short rib hash and they both had the quiche. The hash with eggs over easy on top was the best I've ever had! The women said the quiche was excellent also. Another surprise was the outstanding coffee. Really good! They took our phone number and called when they were ready. There's a little farmers market across the street to explore if waiting. I got the short rib hash with over easy eggs and toast. It was very good and a bit different than your typical brunch meal. It is basically the short rib meat mixed in with potatoes (if the name doesn't make it obvious). Had brunch here this weekend with a friend and loved it!! Ordered the Cobb salad with yogurt & fruit on the side. The salad was delicious and very filling, with a lot of grilled chicken and farm-fresh veggies. What really struck me was the fried/breaded hard-boiled egg that came on top of the salad. Now normally I don't eat eggs since I'm not fond of them, but I ate this one and loved it. It was so delicious and just the right balance between crispy and soft. The yogurt and fruit was also very tasty. We had cocktails to start, shared the marrow & scallop tacos, and my friend and I shared the NY Strip steak for two with sides of mashed potatoes and sauteed greens. The warm sourdough bread was amazing. The tacos were just enough for 3 of us to have 1 small taco and it was a delicious couple of bites. I love that they come with all the condiments separately so you can assemble your own taco, and the sea salt was a great crunchy touch. Our steak (medium rare) was cooked PERFECTLY. It was so delicious. The sides were good, especially the mixed greens with exactly the right amount of salt. Service was friendly and attentive and they didn't rush us out even though it was crowded. It's not that this place was bad, but with so many great restaurants around Park Slope this brunch really did not stand out to me - which is why I'm rating it quite low. For the price compared to the taste of the food, I would give it a 3.5 and I'm not so sure I would come back to try it again. I ordered the Pan Seared bluefish cakes which came with eggs benedict. When ordering, I made sure to specify that I wanted the white of the Benedict cooked all the way through. The server assured me that their restaurant is pretty good about not having runny whites. When the dish arrived, the bluefish cakes were good and the eggs seemed to be made well until I cut into them. There was still some white which wasn't cooked all the way through and it mixed in with my yolk. The dish came with home fries, celery root slaw and sourdough toast which was burnt. I also ordered the cheesy polenta on the side, good but unusually creamy. My boyfriend ordered the short-rib hash with eggs - decent, a little dry but couldn't say it was delicious. I guess what was most disappointing is the taste of their Bloody Mary. It was spicy and had a decent amount of alcohol but I was very disappointed with the Bloody Mary mixture itself. The tomato juice tasted diluted, bland and did not have enough texture - felt watery to me. For a highly rated brunch place, I was disappointed they did not have a good Bloody Mary. Another inconvenience was that the restaurant held an additional charge (more than our meals worth) which had been pending for several days. The only charge that cleared was the actual charge but it is an inconvenience for those paying with a debit card as the bank takes out the money until the pending charge is cleared. Overall, brunching at this place was not very memorable. I hope if we do choose to come back, we can find something on the menu that we could rave about. I ordered the pan seared scallops at $30. I was so disappointed by the taste, presentation and most importantly the preparation. The scallops were small, not seared (just browned on both sides), not sweet or juicy. They were basically, tasteless. I also ordered haricots vert. The vegetables were over cooked and mushy as if they had been reheated from the day before. The high light was the fritto misto, which was excellent. I was with two friends and felt too embarrassed to point out my dislike for the two dishes. My regret is that I spent so much money for food that was literally unettable. read more
