I recently completed my open water SSI certification with Dave at Aquatic Specialties and had an…read moreincredible experience. I was completing this course, including the open water portion, all in December; I was eager to get certified in a New England winter, and Dave matched that energy. From the moment you meet Dave, his enthusiasm for SCUBA is palpable. Throughout long class days, Dave is cracking jokes, telling anecdotes and getting you excited about the skill you're about to have, all while answering a barrage of questions. In the water, he is professional, vigilant, and in his element. He exudes an air of calm and control, allowing you to confidently perform skills that would otherwise be terrifying or disorienting- like removing your goggles or respirator in 45 degree water. Beyond that, the staff is equally as knowledgeable and the community they foster is incredibly warm and welcoming. Even on my open water dives where I thought it was just going to be myself and Dave, I ended up meeting more people who tagged along just because they wanted to dive. I'd be hard pressed to find a more inviting community that is excited to pass the knowledge along to others. What an awesome experience and an awesome group of people that I can happily say I'm a part of now. Thank you Dave! 5/5 stars

WELL, it took only one lesson for her to wipe that smile right off of him! She was sarcastic, seemed annoyed by his questions (he's never ridden before), and stood over him picking, picking, picking at every thing he did as he was trying to learn. He felt belittled, scared of her, scared to ask questions, scared to make a mistake! He BEGGED me not to leave the farm during his lesson because he said she treated him differently while I was watching (and taking videos). After the 3rd lesson, I called to get a refund (6 lessons they make you sign up for upfront) and I was told NO REFUNDS. Do your homework!! Don't leave your child alone there!

By the time my exited my vehicle and grabbed my equipment, staff had opened the doors and starting letting everyone in. The patrons in front of me grabbed 4-5 lanes, so I was easily able to secure a lane; I was loading and making ready to fire by 10:15. They kept my ID for the duration of my range session and charged me the listed rate of $25 for a non-member, one lane-hour fee. Facility seemed well kept and modern. Ventilation worked well; I didn't notice any gunpowder residue clouds wafting around. It also seemed decently sound insulated. I do wish that the range's waiver would be valid for longer than 90 days, all other ranges that I go to/have gone to keep the waivers valid for 90, but what can I do? While the entire staff is wonderful, Brandon is great. I keep visiting because of how awesome their staff is, though I do hope that they fix their AC, it makes it impossible to use the range.
