This is how you turn on a New Yorker :). I chose them to install granite countertops with under-mount sinks in 3 rental units we renovated. Being totally clueless about granite installation I overly researched the process. Even after all of that I didn't realize they all have a different way of charging and different items covered during the process. When I spoke with the owners about my concerns I felt reassured that I had chosen the right team. What I love about Wenbo and Jennie is that they have the granite onsite so you are able to see the quality of the stones they use. I also love that they also cut, polish and seal the stone onsite too. That is huge because it will save you so much time from the moment they go to your location to measure the countertop space and do the templates to the date of installation. I am so blessed to have been able to find and work with true professionals in their field. Jennie and Wenbo you two are definitely my to-go-to team for my future renovation projects. We had an awful and disgusting experience with this place. I would rate it negative if I could…read more The owner's wife claims that she knows EVERYTHING about the interior design while complaining about our kitchen was so small. She made fun of what I was thinking and her suggestions were actually incorrect and all the measurement her husband took was all wrong. Since they were recommended by a contractor, I chose to trust them at the beginning and the disaster has begun. First, since all the measurements were wrong, they ordered the wrong cabinets, my corner cabinets were wrong and they said just make the sink not to face the middle of the window, then I could use the wrong cabinet. Also, they said, in order to use the cabinets that they already delivered, I could just take out the door trims so it would fit. The idea was horrible! They wanted you to accommodate their mistakes ! Imagine you have to use the sink everyday which is not aligned with the center and also the door with no trim around it. Anyway, I insisted they exchanged to the right size of the cabinets and of course, a LOT of attitude and complaining why I was so picky. Moving on to the installation of the counter top. First, I chose a very beautiful granite stone and told them how I would want it to be cut. They refused to show and confirm what was the final design because they were "BUSY". The tragedy happened when they delivered the counter top, it was the exactly the cut I keep warning them that I DON'T want. The edge was black and white so you can tell immediately that the seam was there. I understand there will be a color variation, but that shouldn't be emphasized like that. Plus, why they would refuse a customer to go onsite to check their 2000 dollars investment ? At the end, the owner yelled at me very loud and took the whole granite away. It was very intimidating as my husband wasn't there. This place will be your last place to do business with. They use "hand drawing" to design your kitchen, card board to do the molding of your counter top. Our final counter top was designed by a local kitchen studio, the owner used laser to measure and cut the stone. The installation was super professional and pleasant (GRANITE & KITCHEN STUDIO).

There were tracks for the lights, a 16' LED light street, a transformer and a dimmer. When the electrician installed it, it shorted out. As it turns out, the lights needed a 96 watt transformer and they sold me a 60 watt transformer. It ended up burning out the dimmer. They tried to make me buy a new dimmer as well as an up graded transformer. After back and forth, they charged me for the upgraded transformer. They should have given me everything for free as well as compensate me for an extra 2 hours of labor for the electrician.

Jonathan inspected and measured the staircase (twice) and explained it was a two-day process from start to finish. He was true to his word. The first day the existing stairs were removed and prefinished stringers, risers and oak treads were installed by knowledgeable and experiences carpenters . On day two, the finish painter came over and filled every nail hole and touch up painted everything to perfection. The results are outstanding! The quality of the planning, along with the expert carpenters and painters, made the entire experience pleasurable. I would highly recommend Nutmeg to anyone considering work in their home.

I had flooring installed in May and have had only challenges and lack of timely communication…read morethroughout the entire process. Staff would not return calls or provide estimates as promised, requiring my having to initiate following up with staff on 5-6 occasions when they did not act congruent to their word. My floor was installed and it revealed knots and colors not depicted in the sample; I again had to pursue follow up weeks later to only be told the manufacturer determined that I should somehow have anticipated these knots and colors to exist in spite of the sample not even indicating in writing these potential variations and staff not educating me to this point. The contracted staff who actually installed the flooring itself were professional, thoughtful, considerate, and hardworking. They did a wonderful job on the floor itself. However, the floor is not consistent with my expectations and, even worse, main business staff fails to communicate in a timely way to resolve outstanding issues (such as needing to re-install a small molding piece that has been outstanding for nearly two months now). While I empathize that the business may be experiencing staffing limitations and transitions, the lack of communication and action turned an otherwise joyous renovation into a stressful and disappointing experience. I will not personally use this company for future renovations, which is disappointing.
