Michel Design Works can be purchased at your local Stonewall Kitchen or online if you're not able to visit a store location. I'm definitely recommending the Michel Design Works Soap Made in England. It a great gift as you can see. My Cousin in Minnesota gave me the Cherry Shea Butter for my February 2026 Birthday!! It's already been placed in a prominent place in our bathroom! Stonewall Kitchen is a specialty food producer that opened in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1991. It was founded by business partners Jonathan King and Jim Scott. The company was initially started as a homemade products stall at a local farmers market. Working from a small folding table and calling themselves "Stonewall Kitchen", the stall was successful, selling all stock. The business eventually began producing vinegars, oils, pesto, jams and baked goods. The operation then branched out into selling wholesale, and by 1993 they were approached by Crate & Barrel to produce 2,500 jars of Orange Cranberry Marmalade. To increase production capacity, Stonewall Kitchen purchased and renovated an 18th-century barn in Kittery, Maine. By 2000, they moved to a larger property in nearby York. A visitors area was added to this facility in 2003. As of 2022, Stonewall Kitchen is now owned by TA Associates. The brand is now available in 42 countries and the York facility receives over 500,000 visitors annually. My extended family and I visited the Stonewall Kitchen Company Store & Café this past summer while we were vacationing in York. The location is just gorgeous and features every Stonewall Kitchen product imaginable in the store. We loaded up on quite a few of our favorite products and even discovered some new ones; lots of free samples too! We also decided to stay for lunch in the café, which features delicious menu items made with Stonewall Kitchen products. I ordered the "Lobster Mac & Cheese" (Montebello organic torchiette pasta, fresh local lobster meat, mascarpone, fontina, asiago, cheddar, served w/ mixed greens & classic Italian dressing), my wife had the "Lobster BLT" (fresh local lobster meat, cherrywood-smoked bacon, celery, green leaf lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, housemade basil mayonnaise, buttered brioche, served w/ dill pickle spear & housemade Maine potato chips), our older son had the "Turkey Club" (sliced roasted turkey breast, cherrywood-smoked bacon, garlic herb cheese spread, cucumbers, green leaf lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, red pepper jelly, sliced sourdough bread), and our younger son had the "Mac & Cheese" (Montebello organic torchiette pasta, mascarpone, fontina, asiago, cheddar). New England at its best. Quaint place, good sandwiches, breakfast foods, coffee and pastries. The store has houseware products and condiment that are delicious, however, very overpriced. Great fun for a stop if you're in the area and are any level of foodie. The cafe is a comfortable place to fill up on a lobster roll for lunch. As travelers, we found it best to shop with our eyes, and phone camera, taking pictures of the products that attracted our attention. You can order later, it's not only convenient, but you can take advantage of free shipping. It also keeps from weighing down your suitcase if you're traveling, and they do a great job of carefully packing everything for shipment. Though the stop was great fun, I knocked off a star because we've found their product line to be a little inconsistent. For example, exploring their line of salsas, their salsa verde is one of the best I've ever tasted, and was definitely a repeat order; while the queso was entirely unpleasant and artificial tasting. This is a very popular stop for vacationers in Southern Maine. Sometimes you can get a deal on over-run products, or products that are slightly off the mark as far as texture or maybe packaging. They have lots of jars of product open, that customers can try on crackers. Some people stand there and gorge themselves, which is disgusting. There are plenty of different types of jams, sauces, spreads, relishes to suit just about anyone's taste. While purchasing a couple jars of jam, I asked "Gail" why Stonewall Kitchen doesn't make a straight cranberry jam or jelly. Her response was "We don't make ANY basic stuff, it's BORING." I said "Well, you make blueberry, strawberry, and grape jelly , and those are ALL basic flavors." Maine. The way life should be. Our first stop was Stonewall Kitchen for its famous Lobster BLT. I also had the New England Clam Chowder. Both excellent. The Lobster BLT is expensive but well worth it. Plenty of parking. Plenty of outdoor seating - very comfortable and sturdy. The counter service was friendly and efficient and the bathrooms are clean. Plenty of shopping in the company store but my wife was able to get me out of the store without buying blueberry anything and everything. read more

This is a three part review: VISITING THE STORE Because of the way this decade has played out, things here have changed at Stonewall Kitchen. Gone are the days of abundant samples (the cooking classes, the food truck parties, etc.). When you visit, there might be two or three things open - with someone standing watch - for you to try, but this is 180° different than the way things used to be. If you visited 2019 and earlier, you'll know that you could wander around unattended and sample nearly any and everything in the store. That particular business model is so clever; it's been proven that "try before you buy" makes a consumer feel confident in their purchase (and more likely to buy something that wasn't even on their radar). With prices so high, it's tough to make spontaneous purchases these days, especially with Stonewall offering so many more and new options. Segue... THE PRODUCTS There are a few Stonewall products that we *always* have in the house: 1) the New England Cranberry Relish is tart and chunky (not only does it make a good spread, it's so thick [and so low calorie] I use it as a replacement for regular cranberry sauce at times); 2) the Wild Maine Blueberry Jam is iconic and tastes like pie; 3) (as does the) Strawberry Apple Rhubarb Jam which is jammed (pun intended) with pieces of rhubarb and strawberries! ORDERING ONLINE Stonewall Kitchen is the parent brand to some other Maine brands now, including Village Candle (which is my favorite of the two big brands here in New England). I order candles online *frequently* and it's easy to do, there's free shipping over $50, you can always find coupon codes online, and there's usually some good sales after a season is over. HOWEVER, when I was ordering from Village Candle directly (before Stonewall acquired them), they always threw in a sample votive or two. AGAIN, not a huge lift/expense on their part, and it was such an easy way to encourage me to buy additional items in the future since I got to smell some new things. I had fun here. My friend brought me to see what the kitchen store was like (I love gadgets). We arrived 45 min before they closed. I could have spent more time in the store, and we missed the home store being open (but I didn't need to buy anything, I bought enough). I found some super need things that I didn't know I needed! I know I need an Ebelskiver pan, but I did not buy it. There was also fun stuff for picnics (great gift for family), lots of products for food preparation (sauces, jams, mixes, etc...). We decided to stop here on our way home from our Maine getaway and arrived ready to shop. As we were famished, we were so happy to see the adjacent cafe and we decided to eat before continuing our shopping. The cafe area is well laid out and inviting. I like that just about every menu item incorporates one or more of their products sold right in the store. They also have baked goods to purchase. Order at the register and they bring to your table. You clear the table yourself. We had the tuna melt with lemon dill aioli and green relish and the Stonewall burger with garlic onion jam. Both were well presented and tasted great and filled us up so we were ready to shop! The store is very well organized and easy to maneuver. There are dressings, jams, jellies, sauces, spices, candies, chocolates, teas, maple syrups, bakeware, pancake and crepe mixes, candles, and lovely ready made gift baskets. We were able to snag some really good deals on discounted holiday gift items. While I both love and appreciate that most of their products do come in glass containers, my only complaint is that some of the items for this reputable brand contain unfavorable ingredients such as dyes- so if you care be sure to read the labels. We do love their Maine wild blueberry jam (no dyes) so we stocked up. We also bought a variety of other items to try. I had no idea that "Napa Valley Naturals" was coming from Maine but it is. I am a big fan of their organic red wine vinegar and organic olive oils, which I've picked up at my supermarket here in North Carolina. Stonewall Kitchen is quite the conglomerate, selling jams, cocktail sauces, pickled vegetables, pastas, seasonings, soaps, coffee, and even candles. I'll be looking for Stonewall Kitchen but in the meanwhile, this vinegar is perfect on a salad or mixed in with my special tuna mayonnaise. I am lover of anything Stonewall! If you go to any specialty grocery store or even the "fancy" aisle of the supermarket there is a Stonewall section. Walking into the Stonewall Kitchen Headquarters in Maine was truly a nice experience. I was expecting to see folks in bonnets churning jams (Is that a thing) but it wasn't like that at all. The best of the best, proudly on display at Stonewall Kitchen. All the jams, jellies, cake mixes, cream sauces, soups, soaps as well as kitchen gadgets all for sale at Stonewall Kitchen HQ. We shopped for about an hour, there were a few items I didn't purchase because our basket was getting pricey. We're at the register and I asked just on a whim, hey is there an Stonewall Outlet store? I have in the past enjoyed their product but the past few times I've bought items, I've found the jars are sticky like they had product spilled on them and been lazily wiped off before being put on a shelf. Stonewall Kitchen wasn't as big as I expected for being the headquarters. However, the store was very clean and easy to navigate. The store layout was fine but wasn't well organized when it came to having the same products down a few shelves from the others of the same type (ex: lavender candles with the lavender dish soap and hand soap but then there's lavender candles in the middle of the floor and by the registers-sort of thing). The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The staff were helpful, friendly, and quick. The cafe was great and the mocha was delicious! read more

This gem is literally hidden but oh so worth it. The store is situated somewhat oddly to the street with the back facing the road whereas the front is in the back. If that makes sense. Frankly, the first several times I drove by it I thought it was closed. Then one day on a lark I thought I'd check it out. Boy, am I glad I did! More Stonewall Kitchen products than I've ever seen in my life. Sauces, dressings, condiments, baking mixes, jams, jellies. All at reduced prices. My personal favorite is the coq au vin sauce; heavenly! The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended if you spend any time on the Maine seashore. read more

What a lovely atmosphere at Stonewall Kitchen today! The air was cool and crisp and it made my warm breakfast taste so divine. The kind ginger boy behind the counter was very nice and assisted me in all of my dining needs. This man was gentle, yet masculine, radiating swagger. The other gentleman working with them, whom they call "unc", was very enthusiastic and entertaining, cracking jokes that put a warm smile on my face. I don't always buy seriously overpriced condiments, sauces, and whatever else I tell myself I can't live without, but when I do it's from Stonewall Kitchen and I buy way more than anyone ever should. I'm not sorry. They discontinued my favourite relish like 5 years ago and I'm still kinda salty about it, but I still love them. Stonewall's products are amazing and they know it, which is why they're priced the way they are. Tons of variety for any meal, you are 100% guaranteed to find a bunch of stuff that you'll love. They also have some adorable home décor! I'd consider this entire brand to be dangerous. Fairly interesting to visit. I used to stop in there several times a year, but their prices have gone up and they hardly give samples anymore. I'm not going to pay $9 for a jar of mustard or jam without trying it. They used to have samples of everything, but they seemed to have stopped a year ago. I asked one of the salespeople what's up with no samples and they said it was too messy to clean up at the end of the day. Really? BEWARE OF EXPIRATION DATES! I placed a large order of butters and jams for holiday gifts, I received them on September 5th. As I opened them on October 31st I noticed the expiration dates, nine of the items had expiration dates between November 11 and December 3. When I called Stonewall Kitchen's customer service, the gal told me I had 30 days to open and check the expiration dates and she would not allow me to return the items. I will not be ordering directly from the Stonewall Kitchen again as I cannot check the expiration date prior to purchase nor trust that the product will be fresh. So Disappointing! read more

Sept 2023, love coming here it is a beautiful store with a large selection of products. We haven't been here since 2019. One big change at this store is that you can no longer sample their products before you buy them as you once did, so you have no idea if you like them or not. Moving onto the dining area. You can sit outside or inside, and we sat outside. We ordered the Lobster BLT for 38.00 dollars, and our friend ordered the Lobster Roll. Both were DELICIOUS with lots of Lobster Meat. They did say the prices were Market Rate, and honestly maybe we overpaid, but we are on vacation so anything goes. Was given a beautiful basket of assorted items June 10th 2023. When we opened the basket to put things away, we noticed that both boxes of crackers were expired many months before we received this beautiful gift. Stonewall Kitchen is being petty and not sending new boxes of crackers to replace the expired boxes. My wife and I are big fans of Stonewall Kitchen and order their products online all the time. We love their pancake & waffle mixes as well as their kitchen cleaning products. When we saw there was a café attached to their store, we had to kill two birds with one stone. Needless to say, after we purchased several items to bring home with us, we had lunch in their café. We visited on a very busy Friday at lunchtime. There was no table service and you order at the counter and they will bring you the meal. My wife ordered the BLT with avocado and chips and I ordered the turkey apple cheddar panini with chips. Both were good but the chips which came with the meal had not taste. Not worth the calories or fat. The prices were a bit high because it is Stonewall Kitchen. The service was friendly and the meal came out quickly. It was very well organized. I ordered a tuna melt for lunch. I've never eaten lunch there before I have to say the tuna was delicious and I would love to have it again, but being a tuna melts, the bread should be grilled. I absolutely LOVE going to this flagship store at any time of year. I prefer to be a "hands on" customer. I want to see and feel what I am purchasing and this location offers that ability to do so in a amazing presentation. There is always help around if I need it otherwise I am able to shop at my leisure which can be over an hour and always doing at least two laps around the store, as there is a lot to see in the displays. The café is equally as satisfying. My last few visits I have taken home some triple berry tarts... I cannot describe how delicious they are and are such a "pick me up" after coming back home from Maine. The coffee here is also very good and has given me the time to consider additional purchases in the store for me and/or gifts. One thing you will not find here are the imperfect products. For those, you may want to head South on US1 about 5 miles or over to Rochester, NH (the closest locations I can think of) for the discounted delights. There is a small "sale" area in the connector between the two shopping rooms, but that is not always the case, so shoppers be advised. The outdoor seating is amazing in the warmer months and the ground are exceptionally dressed and are worth a few minutes to look at. read more

I was pretty excited to see the Stonewall Kitchen company store in York! This place houses the home offices, the production facility, the company store and cafe, and even a cooking school! You can find all the Stonewall Kitchen items here: the aiolis, mayo, baking mixes, coffees/teas/hot chocolates, fruit and nut butters, dessert sauces and toppings, dressings, oils, drink mixers, sauces and marinades, jams/jellies/marmalades, mustards, dips, pancake mixes, oatmeals, grits, pasta, risottos, soups, ready-made foods, and even kitchen and house decor items. I'm a fan of their Honey Mustard Dip (great with pretzels!) and their Ghost Pepper Queso (super spicy!)! My dad, who is a huge spice fiend, enjoyed their Ghost Pepper Jelly (it was more of the ghost pepper jelly with a side of pretzels - HAHA!). The SAs are readily available to answer any questions and/or to locate items for you. The place is well set up, but keep in mind that there are a lot of tourists who stop by and are all about sampling (it can get a bit gross!). There's plenty of parking, but it usually gets jam-packed and there are cars usually waiting to get a spot. I do not recommend this company, because:: among other things, they use styrofoam in their packaging. A huge turnoff!

If you're really into bougie food and bougie food brands, yeah, you'll love it here. Do your research though and read the product reviews on Stonewall's main website or else, you might get overwhelmed and end up buying a whole bunch of stuff you don't really need. I'm glad I did and picked up their Ghost Pepper and Caroline Reaper Salsas (insanely hot), a few marinating sauces, lemon and lime curds and meatloaf and pancake starter mixes. I saw a whole slew of their stuff I'd never seen in Canada like their Bloody Mary mixers, mustards, flavoured oils and jellies. They also have a crazy wall of jams. Unfortunately since I'm pre-diabetic, that was a no-go for me but perhaps it might be something for the Stonewall Kitchen folks to think about making diabetic-jams and jellies in the future. They also have a separate place now that sells home goods like soy candles and air fresheners. There is also a food counter/cafeteria.
