Fast, consistent, and the people couldn't be nicer. Eat here about 1/2 times a week, and never had an issue.

Hole in the wall. No IPA or top shelf liquor. :-( I'm pretty sure you can get drunk for cheap here if you become a regular.

Located just to the right as you enter kemps River Shopping Center from Kempsville Road. We were immediately seated. Our server took our drink orders and left us to look at the menu. Our drinks were served quickly. My Friend had a Martini and I had a glass of Red Moscato. Their menu had something for everyone. Once I saw Corned Beef & Cabbage I did not need to look any further. I love corned Beef & Cabbage. Theirs was perfect. Served with whipped potatoes and whole carrots. I asked our server if the potatoes could be substituted for a double order of cabbage the next time and she said she was sure it could but may have a little extra charge. My Friend chose Jagerschnitzel. A German dish consisting of hand-flattened, fried pork loin, topped with onion and mushroom gravy. It was served with kraut, warm potato salad and green beans. She seemed pleased with her choice. Park Lane gives a welcoming vibe that makes me think of the old TV show Cheers. The kind of place that makes you feel like everyone knows your name. Sit at the bar, a high top table near the bar and watch The Big Game or take a seat on the other end of the restaurant and have a Family dinner or maybe a table for two. Park Lane Tavern is a perfect choice.

Shout out to Sky Bar for bringing the igloo culture to Virginia Beach!…read moreNow if we could just keep this trend going in Spring/Summer... May I recommend a possible bungalow rental, just like your igloos? Can you tell Summer is on my mind? Sky Bar is one of my favorite places to go. I love the trendy, upscale atmosphere, but they still keep you grounded with their prices being fair & reasonable. They usually also have happy hour, when Sky Bar is actually Sky Bar, not their homemade winter wonderland. I'm going to highlight their igloos though, only because it's something seasonal, and new. You get an igloo reserved for up to 4 of your closes friends, and the igloo comes with: -personal server -decorated, social-distanced space -two heaters -blankets you can take home -waters -and honestly so many picture perfect opportunities. The food on the menu was also amazing, and I am all about experience, so I would highly recommend the s'mores kit. It makes the atmosphere seem more bonded, it's a warm winter night where you are able to do this, and the s'mores kit just set the tone to be a little more perfect. They have their signature drinks, or regular drinks to order just like a bar as well. They also do offer non-alcoholic beverages if anyone was wondering, wish also makes it kid-friendly! Nothing in the igloo was breakable either, which was nice not to worry about. I wish there was a little more space, to maybe have up to 5-6 people. Either way, I loved it. I loved the experience, and I can't wait for next Winter to do this again! And that says a lot, because if you know me, I hate the cold. But I will face Winter if I know I'm going here!

As soon as we walked in, the music was playing and a few people were shooting pool. This is definitely a locals' spot with a laid-back, no-frills vibe. It's also very smoker-friendly, so if you're not used to that, it takes a little adjusting. I grabbed a drink and ordered some wings, while my friend ordered the fish dinner. The wings were okay, pretty much exactly what you'd expect from classic bar food, nothing fancy. After we ate, we picked a few songs on the jukebox and ended up having a great time hanging out and listening to music. Overall, Mike's Breakroom feels like a true neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other. The staff was great and welcoming. If you're looking for a chill, local spot to grab a drink, play some games and unwind, you'd definitely enjoy this place.

The fun ambassador at the door was nice. He checked id's as we entered. There were a few open tables so we got cozy and played a few songs on the digital jukebox. It's $1 per two credits or $10 for 24. I think because the tournament was going on the music volume was lower than usual, but still cool. I ordered fish and chips, my sister got cheese steak, and my friend got wings. My fish looked good. It was a little bland but I'm glad they gave me hot sauce and tartar sauce to help. It was fried hard like I requested. It was ok. The coleslaw was flavorless, but we're in a bar so I didn't expect Michelin star food. Lol. The fries were a little overcooked. My sister enjoyed her cheese steak, she said the pickled jalapenos made it pop. My friends wings were simple but decent. A little extra lemon pepper seasoning would have took them up a notch and gave them more flavor. We stayed a few hours and enjoyed ourselves. It wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk. So that was a plus. They have a few dart games, pool tables, and a quarter pusher game. The staff was friendly. It's a neighborhood bar so you'll see the same people normally. A decent time for sure. I'd return!!

Our server was Nathan and he was friendly and accommodating!! I like the amount of happy hour options compared to some other restaurants with just a few. We got burger sliders with fries, calamari, poke nachos, and chicken lettuce wraps. The calamari was ok but it was some very tough ones to chew and the portion was small. The tartar sauce that came with it was good and a little spicy. The poke nachos were decent, but I'm not a raw girly to often, so I'd definitely ask if it could be seared. I put it in the air fryer at home, and it was pretty good. My daughter enjoyed it!! The lettuce wraps were just ok, the chicken was kinda rubbery and chewy. The wonton shell was delicious though and the sauce was good. My sliders were supposed to be all the way with lettuce, tomato, onions, and secret sauce. But when they came to the table they were plain with no sauce. I started to eat and about 5 minutes later the food runner brought my correct order. They said they gave me the table next to ours food. So the waiter came back to take it back, and I asked if they'd throw it away? He said yes! Which kinda bothered me. I asked since it was going in the garbage and it wasn't my mistake, could I keep it. He said the manager wouldn't allow it. With inflation why would the manager rather trash perfectly good food? It makes me nervous when restaurants take food back. If it's sat down on a table it shouldn't be returned, just take the loss, because how do I know your not going to replace it and serve it to someone else. I'm not a fan of that!! I'm not accusing them of doing that, but that's the thoughts that run through my mind in situations like that. The table was spacious at the booths and it was clean inside. There's street and garage parking. We went on a good day when it wasn't a wait for a table. The hostess was very nice. She was cheerful and engaging! I'd go back to try other happy hour dishes. Check them out!!
