Hole in the wall. No IPA or top shelf liquor. :-( I'm pretty sure you can get drunk for cheap here if you become a regular.

Fast, consistent, and the people couldn't be nicer. Eat here about 1/2 times a week, and never had an issue.

We returned a second time and super busy on a Tuesday same time-why? Fish and Chips Thursday (1/2 price). Not too long of a wait though -1/2 hour and went fast as we had a drink at the Bar. We tried a couple of appetizers-goat cheese dip and fire cracker shrimp-both tasty. The Bacon stuffed Gouda burger was ordered on both visits -Ground Chuck/Proper Tavern Burger and it was that good! Fish and Chips were also ordered both visits-perfectly battered Haddock living up to the Tavern billing. The Tavern Monte Cristo is one to try. Battered and fried sandwich is never a bad idea-we loved it! We had a mix of draft beers (import)-they had Carlsberg (Danish) which isn't easy to find as well we had a Scottish Ale. Overall, an ample import draft list. Service was super engaged and upbeat from beginning to end on both visits. They are a Futbol Tavern and they mentioned they do get quite busy and have an even more of a fun atmosphere during the season-too bad we only visit during the Futbol off season-summer. We saw banners for Oktoberfest celebrations. Specials Monday-Thursday including Whiskey, wine and Wellington! Also, have a couple of sister locations in Hampton and Fredericksburg. Most definitely has been added to our must stops when visiting the Beach!

The mug club you get a full mug (so 24 oz) for the price of one pint. I have to ask if there's rules on what beer you order but that will be in the next review.... on to the food! My husband got the shepherds pie and he said this was an easy 10/10 the lamb was cooked perfectly. Great seasoning and overall flavor this is a hit. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage... man it's going to be hard to try other things on the menu because this was actually perfect. Well, one thing I would LOVE to see is some gravy on the mashed potatoes or even on the side. The potatoes taste great themselves but something in this dish is lacking diverse flavor I feel like that would have brought everything together to make it 10/10. I will still get it again though! Beware for all of my savory people... the cabbage is cooked to have a sweeter taste idk if I loved that but I added a little salt and it was fine. Carrots and mustard were great additions. Needless to say, I rarely ever finish my entire place and I stuffed myself full of corned beef to make sure I got every left bit. Can't wait to come back and try the fish and chips next!

We ordered some coffee and took a look at the menu. At first glance, my daughter was stated the menu reminded her of waffle house at school. Gotta love college kids! I ordered a bacon and cheese omelet but omited the sides because I wasn't sure if they were gluten free. My husband also ordered an omelet, his was the meat lovers. He had toast and potatoes as his side. My daughter enjoyed a Eggs Benedict. The food came out pretty quick which was nice because it started to get quite busy. Our omelets came out and were huge and full of ingredients. I had no complaints. The eggs on the eggs benedict were a little over done but the rest of the plate was perfect so it didn't bother my daughter at all. Overall everything was really good and when we were leaving there was a wait so I'm glad we got there early. We will most definitely be back!!

They are just south of where Holland Rd. merges into Independence Blvd. My most recent visit here was on April 23, 2026. From the outside of the business, it does stand out a bit with the large name above the entrance. You can definitely see it if you look from Holland Rd. I had seen it too when traveling down that road, but I finally came in for the first time on March 10, 2026 after leaving the Voter Registrar's Office not too far from there. Upon entering, it wasn't too busy yet, but it was a little before 4 pm, so it was still early for the evening dinner rush. The inside of the place definitely has the bar scene vibe with the bar area and televisions showing sports there, with closed captioning on. One of the bartenders said we could find a spot to be seated. My mom and I went to one of the booths available. It was just seconds later that our server came over, welcomed us here, bringing menus over, and introduced herself. The first question is always asking about what to drink. I continue to go with my usual, which is water with lemons, while my mom got Coke. After having some time to look over the menu, when we got our drinks, my mom and I were both ready to order. I decided to go with the Sloppy Joe Samich with Onion Rings as the side item, but subbing Pepper Jack Cheese instead of American Cheese. My mom decided to do an appetizer as the main course, which was the Loaded Nachos Half Size Portion. A little less than 10 minutes later, our food orders came to the table, and they looked really good, and when we went to try it out, they were definitely hot too. The Sloppy Joe Samich ended up being really good and hit the spot for me. The onion rings were good too, and were a bit of an indulgence for me. My mom really liked the Loaded Nachos and that had good flavor to it as well. Our server also told us about various specials they have through the week, so this would warrant future visits for us too. The next few visits would be on Thursdays, as they have a $7 Burger Night Special beginning at 5 pm. For those next visits (including the most recent one, except for the April 6 visit), I would end up getting the Bacon Cheeseburger With Fries (additional cost to change the side item for specials). My mom also did a few types of burgers on these visits, one being the Cowboy Burger. Every time, the burgers came out as expected and hot. The fries were really good too, as I usually do pepper on them instead of salt. There was one additional visit on April 6th, which was a Monday. We came in that day for the Fried Shrimp Basket Special. That one comes with Fried Shrimp and Fries, and is available all day. The shrimp were really good and filling too. Overall, the food, service, atmosphere, and specials have been great here. I really feel like they are a hidden gem. When it comes to sodas, they did carry Coke products, but as of the middle of April 2026, they are now serving Pepsi products. I want to note that there is a 3% order processing fee, likely for anyone paying by a card instead of cash. Even when I have been there at busier times, parking was never an issue. It feels like a family atmosphere too. On the most recent visit, they even stated that they notice us as regulars here now. If you're looking for a different place that serves more than just burgers, this place is worth checking out, as I have not seen a place around yet that has the Sloppy Joe type samich.

For me, the biscuit and iced tea just didn't hit the mark. Biscuit was dense and tasted heavy on the baking soda. Chicken was a huge portion, but the skin was burnt and coming off in chunks. Gravy was good consistency but lacking flavor. Bacon didn't add much to the party. I couldn't finish, which is rare for me and a biscuit! It sat heavy in my stomach all day. Plain iced tea tasted fruity like maybe machine components had been mixed up. Holidays can be a tough time for staffing and consistency, so I'll be back to try again! One of the closest things in the area that reminds me of my summer visits to NY, waking up early to grab that bacon, egg and cheese on a roll or cream cheese on an everything bagel before tackling the day. The location is perfect because I usually get my wife a coffee from the Dunkin' Donuts next-door right after grabbing a bagel sandwich. Clutch. The staff there are cool people. They're like the cast of a classic sitcom. Overall solid customer service. The place is always tidy and they'll either be in there playing the jams or something good on TV. My go to order is a Turkey Bacon, Egg, and Cheddar Cheese on a Cinnamon Raisin Bagel! Fire if your into to a slight sweet savory vibe. Sometimes i switch it up and go French Toast bagel.
