Please don't go here and they are a friend of a friend and still sold me two used cars one had been in a flood and only after having the car for less than a year was told it needed a new engine it cost me 600 dollars and when I got it back the engine was still making the same noise so he never put a new one in the second one had a bad gas leak and could have killed me and my 2 year old daughter he knew I would be driving her around in. I had also had a transmission leak he charged me 350 dollars to fix and one day later it was still all leaking out when he was told he said well I just fixed what was wrong on the outside, I took it somewhere else and the only thing it needed was a new filter that was not expensive at all and the new repair man advised me there wasn't anything new on my transmission. OMG! don't go here!!! where do I start?! let's first start by saying I was referred to them by a "friend" Ai so I thought they would be trust worthy. I was charged $2400 for a new head gasket, radiator, battery and starter. Since the return of my car, the burnt oil smell has not subsided. My check engine light has returned. my jeep grand Cherokee shakes non stop anytime the car is on. I don't know how else to say it but if you are a women!!! DO NOT come here. BEWARE!!!!! This company cannot perform the most basic function of their job nor are they willing to amend issues they cause!! I got a flat tire and contacted AAA. AAA sent out a mechanic from this company to change my tire. The idiot managed to strip the wheel hub (costing me $800 OUT OF POCKET in repairs). After a long back and forth with AAA, they told me they simply act as a middle man and I would have to go through GNI West Warwick (which is the shop at Stop and Gas). I contacted them and spoke with the owner / manager. He refused to view any of the documentation from VW, AAA, and Town Fair Tire explaining the damage found as a result of them improperly changing my tire. I have been dealing with AAA in regards to this and they advised me that since they act as a middle man between service provider and customer, I would have to address the issue with the shop directly.. which as I explained went nowhere. Would not recommend!! BEWARE! If they're an autobody shop and they can't even change a tire without causing $800 worth of damage, what other damages are they causing while working on your car??? read more

I wish I could give less than a 1. My wife had a engine swap. which then turned to her transmission lines blowing out when she drove the car home. They refused to take responsibility of the damage they cost. I would not recommend anyone to go there. read more

***STOP**** DON'T DO IT!!!! Do NOT take your vehicle to Stop & Gas!!! I dropped my car off on a Friday late afternoon for a Saturday state inspection. Dude calls me Saturday late in the day and ask me if I can wait until Monday. I agreed. Called him at 2:30 on Monday. "Oh, I'll have it done this afternoon". At 5pm I walk in and find out he never touched the car. Then when I pushed back he cried some bullshit and suggested that I take the car somewhere else. No kidding. There was nothing more to this transaction other than what I just wrote. The guy is a cry-baby and not very efficient. The over abundance of cars in his lot must be more a function of him being pretty lousy at what he does rather than busy because he's efficient. He apparently can't keep up. read more

Zero stars!!!! My car was at the dealership minding its own business when stop and gas hit my car with a flatbed. It was a hit and run. Guy quickly dropped the car off that he had on his truck and took off without even going inside. They lied to the police multiple times and apparently don't have insurance because they are uninsurable. I ended up having to use my own uninsured motorist insurance to repair the $10,000 worth of damage to my car! Scumbags! That's what these people are!!!! read more

I drive by here often, but until today, had never stopped, so I thought I'd check it out, since I had plenty of time today. They have three garage bays and do automotive repairs, including state inspections, but I am writing this review from the point of view of a gas customer only. To be honest, the main reason I've never been motivated to check it out sooner is that the lot is crammed with cars; some with license plates, some without, and some that are up for sale. They have four gas pumps, and it's difficult to move around there, just as I figured it would be. There was a truck at the pump ahead of me with three guys in it who were taking their time, and I was forced to wait until they left (good thing I wasn't in a hurry, remember?). Then, when I went to pull out, an older guy had parked in front of the building and got out of his vehicle, and I was afraid I was going to run over the little dog he had on a leash. As for their price on regular gas, it wasn't the most expensive I saw today, but it wasn't the cheapest either (Warwick Gas, which is further up or down Providence Street, depending which way you're traveling, had gas 7 cents cheaper this morning). The store itself isn't exactly inviting. I saw two signs that read, "No credit - don't even ask," and it appeared that not even customers were allowed to use a bathroom, since both doors had signs stating "Employees Only." There were a few beverage coolers and an extremely limited selection of snacks - I wouldn't really characterize it as a convenience store, but a repair garage with gas pumps - kind of an old-school setup. read more

This business I feel is falling down, or the moral is gone. I live close and have seen it from start to current with opening. Yes they do have a mechanic. They do do inspection. The repair prices are pretty high, I have gone to a different shop for the same service and payed less. I have been told I needed certain parts replace to find out that they were false. The girl that works at the register has a poor attitude. Overall if you can stay clear of this place I highly recommend you do. read more

It is a good, local gas station. Maybe not too fancy but does what it needs to do. Most important feature - you can get gas even if the place is closed, middle of a night or early in the morning it will take a payment - no attendant needed. As far as a garage - fair prices, will call before doing any repair to explain what's needed. Once I had a non-working car stuck in my driveway, they came and towed it to their garage while I was at work. AAA won't do it, they want someone to be there. It was very convenient, quick service, car ready in the afternoon. Come on with the comments there is no room to move, sure there is!Enough to get in, get gas and go. I have been doing business with stop & go for a few years. I like george as a manager. You tell him what the problem is, and he will give you his price. Or he will test drive your car, and tell you the problem, and how much. Parts mostly are warranteed for 6 mos from where they buy them. I am getting a cv axle replaced, for the second time. And I am satisfied with the price. Part was past warrantee. But I still paid the same as 1 1/2 years ago. That was agreed. His A/C service is excellent. Stop by and talk with George, get a quote. Horrible Horrible and the manager is so rude no customer service skills at all. This is my first time here. Came here cause a had a leak coming from the front of my car so I left my car to get fixed. It went from two things getting fixed to nine things getting fixed. Yes 9!! So he's getting it "fixed" He called me tells me it's gonna be done on Monday, Monday come it's not done. Takes a whole weeks now it's done, but now there is a whole other piece that needs to get fixed which is even more money. Why would u mislead your customers tell them everything that's wrong, not just some. You did a diagnostic on my car you should have known that piece needed to get done before the others, he replies with "people come to me cause I have the best deals" No he didn't give me no deal I told him he has to fix it he said he can't do nothing els for me. We went back n forth he was very rude he Cursed at me kept hanging up the phone on me just horrible. Now I have no car cause he fixed nothing. Blew out my savings so I can get my car fixed but he did nothing just made it worst and now I'm carless, mind you my job is required to have a car cause they move me around every few months. What a yucky place. The property seems poorly maintained, the gas pumps are a little grimy and the lot is full of junk cars. The girl running the register was smoking a cigarette INSIDE the store and it was clear she didn't care what anyone else had to say about it, nevermind that IT'S ILLEGAL! That alone is enough to make me bring my business and my dollars elsewhere. Her poor attitude and smoking inside is simply unacceptable. I can't speak for the service station. read more

Didn't even want to give this place a one star rating because they are horrible. Totally dishonest business man. Took my car for inspection, went to pick it up after they called to tell us it was ready, my car is not there. First we were told they were test driving it. Wouldn't you have done that before you called us to tell us it was done? Then we were told an employee "accidentally" took it to run an errand. Really? Who takes other people's vehicles to run a company errand? Waited 20 minutes for the employee to come back, at which time he pulled up to the gas pump and probably put $5 worth of gas in it. Very argumentative when my husband called him out on it, wouldn't give this place the time of day or my money ever again. A week after I had the catalytic convertor replaced (which my husband is still not convinced we needed done to get the car inspected), I had to take it back to have them fix a 'leak' where it connected, my car was sucking exhaust into the vehicle itself every time I stopped the car. If it was the closest gas station and I ran out of gas, I'd walk an additional 20 miles to the next one to get it, very disgusted with the service and attitude. read more
