I really hope someone who cares about these reviews sees this. You have a worker named Jonathan who is always out in the parking lot, and he deserves some real recognition. This young man is there in every kind of weather -- rain, snow, heat, whatever -- and he never seems to complain. People leave carts everywhere, sometimes with garbage in them, and he just keeps working, always polite and always helpful. He asks if you need a hand, offers to take your cart when you're done, and he does his job really well. And honestly, that job is not easy at all. Jonathan, if you see this: great job, buddy. One of my favorite Stop&Shops. I swear it's never busy here, it's fantastic. It's a little hidden in town but it's a gem. Tons of parking and lots of workers to answer any questions. I stopped in because I needed some fresh herbs and after stopping at two other stores I figured Stop and Shop has to have it. Thank god they did. All the herbs I could ever ask for. I went in around 4 o'clock and usually a Shoprite or Trader Joe's would be packed at that hour but S&S was fine! That's really the best part of this store. I love this store! It's always clean, well stocked and the produce aisle has a wide variety of premium produce. It's also a vegan Mecca! There is so much vegan food, we couldn't believe our eyes! There's vegan pantry items, a whole section of vegan frozen foods, vegan dairy items, and healthy organic snacks! We love this store!!! Supermarket hidden in a side street of town, but as a local you know where to find it. Staff has always been helpful especially at the self checkout where their new systems have some quirks. The pharmacy staff have been great too in assisting me with meds that aren't covered by my insurance and offering me guidance on any concerns I have with drug interaction. Often I see corporate here guiding their associates on presentation and cross merchandising. Deli staff is always pleasant and offer you a slice to chow on and approve thickness before proceeding with your order. However, I do not recommend their pre-sliced if you prefer thin cut. I also question that Land O Lakes cheese in that section as I swear it's not LOL. Meat dept appears fresh and they have some good sales on Manager special for packages about to expire, but still are fresh. Fish dept is mainly frozen, but there is a small fresh section. Not sure about turnover since it's so small. Produce is iffy with me as it's usually priced higher and doesn't always seem to be pick of the crop. Overall I'm generally happy with the items and service here. Store is brightly lit and they have made some renovations over the years. Love their scan it service and self checkout lines. Wish Shop Rite would implement these. Do bring your own reusable bags though as their plastic bags are the flimsiest and easily tear before even making it into your home. read more

Pleasantly surprised! The Stop & Shop by my area has minimal stock. This Stop & Shop is way bigger and has a lot more inventory. There is a whole section of organic and vegan products; it is pretty impressive! Check out was fast, and the cashier was very nice! Totally unacceptable running in at 7 pm for a few things and the deli guy wants to clean the machines while there's 2 customers. Why are we cleaning the machines when there's customers clearly waiting? Totally unacceptable. The most frustrating thing about this store is that many of the cashiers are rude and/or inept. By rude I mean that if you ask a question, they snap at you. By inept I mean that while it's nice to be friendly to customers, when you have a line of people (especially during Covid times), you should not hold everyone up by chatting with each customer. It's scary to be in any store for any length of time. Last week, I tried to be polite and said "Could we please move things along" when one particular cashier was shooting the breeze with a customer and she then had a real attitude problem. Really? Was that necessary? The best employee in the store IMHO is Aidan; not sure if he is still there but he always provided efficient customer service and seemed to know things. read more

Employees are so friendly and courteous! Lots of variety to choose from. I use the online pick up service alot because I had surgery . it's so simple and easy to use! 90% of the time everything I ordered is available. The substitutions they pick are appropriate. Beautiful flower arrangements in the flowers section ! Produce is fresh!! The store is definitely older looking, and turned me off at first. Don't let that fool you! I go to this stop and shop because I HATE going to the overly crowded Shop Rite. The area that i dislike most in this store ia the produce section. The fruit flies laying arou d the onions and garlic are horrible. I rather just buy regular super market goods and then go someplace else for my fruits and produce. Isn't a great situation. I have called to complain but those calls must be falling on deft ears. Bought a head of garlic last week and when i went to use it it was all rotted out already. Wish there was a better place to shop around here. In there tonight and the rolls were so hard. Guess i have to add the bakery with the produce dept and being horrible read more

As far as supermarkets in the area go, Stop & Shop are not my preferred option because they tend to be overpriced. I find their weekly sales and incentives simply are not as valuable as the ones that ShopRite offers and they're only down the road. They do have a pretty good deli and already-made foods section and I like to grab those for lunch when I am on-the-go. Parking is plentiful, although getting into and out of the lot can be a pain because it is off a main road. read more

Recently the lyndhurst stop and shop no longer sells grab and go deli meats or cheeses under 1lb packages which now causes customers to wait in line for smaller quantities. I asked a salesperson about this and was told management told them no packages under a pound. Very inconvenient to have people standing around during a pandemic. So I grab just one Package of coldcuts . Losing money from me. If i want 5 items I would have to spend at least $50 on grab and go. Not happening. So I grab 1 pack and save $40 read more

It does the job in a pinch. Prices are high and I've never been blown away by the quality of fresh goods (produce, dairy, meats/fish...) if you need something in a pinch or will be cooking it within the next two days or so, no problem. I've had loads of problems with fruit/veg spoiling within a few days of purchase from here and I don't buy ripe at that moment. I will only really do my canned/frozen goods shopping here nowadays. I live down the road from S&S so it's an easy stop on my way home from work. However, for all of my produce, meat and dairy I go to Fairway in Paramus as the quality is much better and fresher. read more

Could rate this higher if they'd do something about all of the expired items on the shelves. We try to carefully examine everything we buy, but usually come hone with at least one item that slipped by. Today, I passed up bacon that was three-days past expiration and peanut butter that expired in April (it's July as I write this). It takes forever to get through the store because you have to look for items that aren't expired or just about to expire. Otherwise, there is plenty of parking. read more

Stop & Shop is CLEAN and overall very friendly. The shelves are usually stocked quite well and the items are easy to find. The prices tend to be a little higher than ShopRite, but you can still find some really good deals. Every week they have Buy One Get One Free specials and when you sign up for the store loyalty card you will get coupons in the mail. The store is rarely busy, use the Scan It System to save even more time! read more

I purchased this box of cereal on Monday, I just opened it this morning and noticed it's expired by about 9 months. This isn't the first time this has happened to me from this location. I also purchased kcup coffee pods that were expired by over a year. I recomend checking the expiration dates on products before purchasing from this location. Very nice floral dept. Everything is fresh and alive compared to the stop and shop in Wayne NJ. All the items are nicely arranged so that you see everything that you don't need on your way down to get the milk! But at least it's attractively done. The staff is a little reminder of my hickville town hometown but very friendly!!! Nothing turned out to be expired,they had the scanner to ring up my items so I can bag as I go and when I am done I just scan the total into the register and presto.....pay and leave!! read more

The staff is wonderful but management is always changing and lacks initiative. The store is generally managed by a woman, Stephanie Duffy, who has a complete disregard for the store, her customers and her staff. I have seen her berating staff for what appeared to be a minor infraction. It made me sick to my stomach to see another person treated that way. I've heard of accounts of accused shoplifters being physically accosted by staff and management. Outrageous! This store is a shame on the Stop & Shop brand. read more

It's def. more expensive than most supermarkets but the store is super clean, has it's own "check out yourself" kiosks and it manages to always be empty! I love that it has everything and is more like a super store, wish they will give you more options as price goes but overall a great supermarket! read more

Just tried this location for the first time. Moved to Weehawken and the location closer to me did not get favorable reviews. This store was clean, isles easy to get through, good selection of the items on "sale". ( I hate when you go to a store for a sale item and they are out of stock on day 2 of the sale). Produce was very fresh, by the way if you like tomatoes you have to try taste lee, they come in either a two, three or four pack. They are always delicious no matter what time of year. I even bought them during the summer whenever the jersey tomatoes didn't look great on any particular day. I tell everyone about these tomatoes they are the bomb! Cashier was friendly, people in line were very pleasant as well. Overall a great experience and will shop here again. read more

I prefer Stop & Shop over ShopRite. It's less crowded with a great layout which makes it easy to grab your groceries and go. With their store rewards deals are really good. They have a great selection of health goods. The service can be from there and the lighting can be more brighter other than that it's OK. read more

I prefer Stop & Shop over Shoprite because it's cleaner, better lighting, and offers a better checkout experience. The entire store was remodeled in 2013. They have 5 self-checkouts, plus the scanner guns you use to scan as you shop. There's also the deli order kiosk where you order ahead and pickup at the deli 15 minutes later. The pharmacy staff is super friendly and helpful. Produce could often be of better quality, and there is meat, fish, and natural foods departments. Floral dept is pretty good but there's no refrigerated bouquets. As others have said, prices in general may be a little more expensive than other stores but there are a lot of sales with the club card. Also a PNC bank and lotto in store. read more

The only thing preventing 5 stars from me is that the produce quality and prices are worse than the local S/Rite and the deli prices are MUCH higher than S/Rite. Over-priced, and possibly the worst customer service ever. With the exception of one, the cashiers are slow and easily distracted. There's a cashier who works in the morning takes her sweet time waiting on customers - stopping to put her sweater on or to converse with others...it's very inefficient. There's a woman behind the deli counter who is reminiscent of the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld, and on a few occasions, I've asked for a product - been told the store does not carry it - and then found it. I do my weekly shopping here. Today I was in the produce department. Even though halos were $6.99 a bag I planned on buying them. The sign clearly said 5 pounds. I pick up a bag and there was no way it weighed 5 lbs. I weighed it on their scale. Guess how much it weighed? 3lbs. I thought maybe a mistake so I weighed 4 more. All weighed 3 lbs. $6.99 for 3lbs??? False advertising! I looked around for an employee. None in sight. They would not have cared anyway. read more

The only real problem that I have with this store, and which is why I don't go there regularly, is the lack of cashiers and baggers. I understand that all companies are pushing for tech innovations to cut down on labor costs, but I don't appreciate the fact that I am being forced to pay for $100 worth of groceries, to only then have my bread and other perishable items crushed at the bottom of the conveyor belt because I can't stop scanning the items during the check out process. I have been going to the Stop & Shop in Clifton but this past weekend i found this location that is closer to me. i am in love! Im a vegetarian and they had such a great variety of produce. The Natures Path section made me want to shed a few tears- such an AWESOME selection of vegetarian, vegan, and just healthy products in general. So glad i found this hidden gem. read more
