Home cooked meal - w/ produce & goods mostly from Stop & Shop! Great avocados, cucumbers, eggs, miso & scallions.

This Stop & Shop in Monroe is fab - I come here at least 2~3 times a week. A nice selection of general groceries, organic produce & eggs, deli, etc. To add - The staff is great! All the employees I've met (@registers, customer service, management) are friendly, helpful & kind. A nice lady named Cindy even went to the backroom looking for something per my request. I also use Stop & Shop app to capitalize on points / coupons / specials. I hope this neighborhood gem stays in business for a long time. Thank you so much & see you soon! :)

Long lines are a common sight here

One of the worst supermarkets ever! The adventure starts when you pull up to the parking lot. Monroe is known for its large population of retirees and parking can be a bit of a pain, whether it's trying to get in and out of the lot or rogue carts slamming into your car. Inside, the frustrating things are the lines and the prices! Whenever I shop here, I'm usually just buying one or two items, but I find myself standing in a long line even the self checkout! The culprit is a combination of the slow checkout staff and customers with carts filled to the brim. Despite having the self scanner guns to scan your items while shopping, the lines aren't any better. Don't get me started about the prices. It's amazing why anyone would shop here other than convenience. The regular prices are putrid and the sale items are a joke. There's only a small section for organic and natural products. I'm happy that shoprite isn't too far away and I would gladly drive an extra 10 minutes for better prices and better shopping experience. Shame on Stop and Shop for fleecing the elderly and their limited fixed income! The only positive of this place is there's a full starbucks in the premises.

    Filthy!

Exceptional Pharmacy:…read more It's rare these days to find a Pharmacy that truly feels community-centered, but that's exactly what you get here. Unlike the big chain pharmacies that often feel rushed, impersonal, and overly reliant on kiosks, this Shop Rite Pharmacy stands out for all the right reasons. From the moment you walk in, it feels less transactional and far more personal. The team takes the time to listen, never rushes you, and genuinely cares--often greeting customers by name. That level of attentiveness is something you just don't see much anymore. What really sets this Pharmacy apart is the accessibility of the Pharmacists themselves. They're approachable, patient, and willing to take the time to clearly explain medications and answer questions without making you feel like you're holding up a line. The staff--Ginny, Trisha, Brittany, and Eve--operate seamlessly together, creating a smooth and welcoming experience every time. It's clear that strong leadership is at the core of it all. Raj Patel, the General Manager, has been here for 20 years, and his experience and steady guidance show in every aspect of the operation. On a scale of 1 to 10, this team is easily an 11. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a Pharmacy that truly puts people first. Harry Robinson CEO, Technology Solutions Partners

Pretty decent place to shop. Many of these one star reviews are so blatantly their own faults, so I…read moredon't quite understand why so many low ratings. It's a good store, and gets a lot of traffic regularly- therefore sometimes it doesn't seem to be in the by condition- but I've been shopping here for years and any issues I have happened to have were just honest mistakes. For the most part the employees here are nice and are pretty easy to talk to/deal with. I enjoy walking in and seeing all of the flowers right at the front, as well- it gives it a good atmosphere to first walk into. Shopping carts could be collected a little better, however.

I love shopping here- the seafood dept is pretty much a go to for our house. I like monkfish tacos…read moreand they have the best price and the portions are perfect for a family of three. I also like that I can get fresh clams already in a container so I don't need to shuck them myself, which is very easy for the clams in white sauce. Staff at the fish section are always friendly and if I am not sure about a fish/shellfish, they point me in the right direction for what I need for whatever recipe I am making. Meat section is expensive, but I like the cuts and the freshness of the items, they have fresh rabbit which I am huge fan of eating in stew. Lamb is also very much a staple so they have plenty of options, bone in, bone out, chops and legs. Produce is everything I need especially hard to find items like lemon grass. I do like the pre cut fruits so they have watermelon and mango which is perfect for lunches and after dinner dessert. Deli section the guys are very nice and always slice what I need, sometimes I ask for the end pieces and they are ok with weighing and wrapping it, I have been to other markets and they give attitude or refuse to weigh and wrap it for me. If it is the case, it can be sold!! So, is Wegman's a little pricier than other markets, yes, but you really can't surpass the quality and variety of items. I shop here twice a month and on average spend between $250.-$400. depending on shopping needs for the weeks food items. I also have to add a comment on the restrooms, I can only comment of the ladies, once I made the mistake and went to the staff ladies lounge restroom.. but both the public and staff are clean and well stocked with the basics.

Do not buy Wegmans chicken breasts. They are full of fat and at least a third of the breast must be trimmed off.

This weekend I went to H Mart to buy some oranges for Chinese New Year. We give them as gifts to family and friends when we visit their homes. Shocked, they were selling three for $3.99. The frugal Chinese shopper in me says, no way am I paying that price. Went to Trader Joe's instead and they were selling a bag of eight for $4.99. I even told the girl who was stacking the oranges how H Mart had the nerve to charge so much. Lol. As I continued to shop around the store, the girl came up to me with another bag of oranges and said take this bag instead it has nine (instead of 8) oranges. The fact that she took the time to look for me is what Trader Joe's is all about. That totally made my day. The workers go above & beyond. And don't get me started on the cashiers, I always enjoy saying hi to them and engaging in some friendly conversation. If you can't find a product, a worker will walk you to the aisle. Trader Joe's has me as a loyal customer for life. On another note, oranges are incredibly sweet and juicy right now. Go get yourself a bag.
