Located in the Cross County mall complex, so they have lots of parking and are conveniently located near a ton of other stores. Decent grocery store, but their produce section was not well stocked. They were low on several vegetables. Gets a little bit crowded during peak times on the weekend, but not too bad. Our cashier kept the checkout line moving quickly. read more

The men that stood outside of Mount Vernon Target for months asking for money to play basketball have now relocated to the entrance and exits of the cross county Stop & Shop. Been coming here for years. Many food well priced and in stock, although I would love and have requested many times for them to carry the Sello Rojo and Arroz Rico brand small/medium grain rice. I usually come here very early in the morning when there is less people, to avoid social contact with others, since later during the day, this place gets packed regardless which day it is with long lines at checkout, whether using a teller or self-checkout. This is one of my go-to grocery store when close to the vicinity. Also, this is my favorite spot to get all my sushi from their own dedicated Japanese chef and Jamaican beef patty that comes directly from the bakery in the Bronx. read more

My patience for this location has finally run out. This place over the years has had it's ups and downs - though more cons than pros at this point. The only real reason I kept coming here aside from it being the closest to me is due to the Scan It program, which is my preferred way to shop. But sadly, that isn't enough anymore. Each and every time I come here with a list and I only leave with half the items I intended to get - forcing me to a competitor (which usually has about 90% of what I need to begin with when for this Stop & Shop, it's merely 50%) sometime after my trip here. I get it - sometimes items are sold out or unavailable any longer - but one of the basic things of running a business is that if something sells, you always try to make sure it's on hand or order more. At this location, they don't. I mean it's very basic and they can't do even that correctly. Supermarkets generally stop selling certain items for whatever reason - but I noticed that happens a lot more in here than even other Stop & Shop locations. Just randomly out of nowhere an item you always see just disappears never to be seen again. To come in with a list of items to get and only leave with half each and every time is just not good. It's not as if I have a bizarre list of items either - they're normal items that I've seen here before. If I have to go to a competitor or another Stop & Shop to get the rest of my list, I might as well just go there altogether and just not come here at all. Not sure if this is the inept management here or a corporate decision, but they are always moving things around here. I expected it when they renovated, but it's almost every few weeks they decide to move aisles or sections around for no rhyme or reason, which is annoying to say the least. I want to be in and out of there as fast as possible, but when they're always moving sections or changing aisles, I'm in there far longer than I need to be to look for said items when it made no direct sense to move anything in the first place. The employees are generally rude and poor in this location. The stock guys are the worst. They stock during busy times and act like the customers are the inconvenience, when it's the other way around clearly. They should stock intermittently or during lulls and no other time. But to be rude or have attitudes with the customers for no reason is unacceptable and another sign of poor management here. While this is not this location's fault, another annoyance here is the customers. You get annoying customers pretty much everywhere, but this particular store seems to attract the most at any given time - day or night. The song goes 'The freaks come out at night' - but in here they also come out during the day. For a location that already annoys me, this just adds to it. Everything else is the same from the prior reviews. Again, the Scan It feature is the best thing that Stop & Shop has (when they are actually charged and the bags are there) and certainly the only reason for me to come here in the first place. The renovation was good, but all the other problems this location already unfortunately didn't get removed along with the renovation. Prices are what they are - some are good and others you can perhaps get a few cents cheaper elsewhere. If you're a member, you can get discounts or whatnot. I can't say you get coupons at the registers, because they never even spit out not even one anymore. At the end of the day this is only a supermarket and there is no reason I can't drive an extra 2 minutes to a competitor for an overall better shopping experience. A trip to the far superior Stop & Shop location in New Rochelle seems to be a good bet, if not there's more than a dozen drive-able options out there. After this last trip, I just had enough and it's time to start going to better places and I will be doing just that. I bid thee farewell. read more

This review is for pick up. I tried pick up for the first time and it will be my last time. The seal of 2 items I purchased were punctured and curiously enough the puncture was the same exact size and shape of a finger nail ... crescent moon shaped. I threw both items in the garbage both items which cost $2.19 before tax. Not happy. read more

This is one of my favorite locations. Their food is super fresh and they have knowledgeable and friendly staff. The guy in the seafood department is aces. He knows his fish and he always picks out choice pieces for me whenever I buy fish. I have just always had a good experience at this particular location and it greatly differs from other locations as which I have shopped. read more

This is my aunts favorite supermarket and I am more of Pathmark kind of gal. This supermarket is big and always crowded. Prices and sales are OK. Its always clean and the last time I was here unfortunately was right before the Nemo snow storm so it was packed. They have several self service checkouts that are just as long as the regular cashier check out lines. read more

Extremely hit and miss. There's times where you can walk in, find what you are looking for and get out, but half of the time walking into this store is utter hell. Not to mention, the parking in itself is horrendous. Avoid at all costs during the weekend, before a holiday, or if the weather is calling for some sort of catastrophic event. Don't be naive like myself, thinking that it will be a quick trip on such occasions. Unfortunately, this is the only grocery store in walking distance for me. My key issue for this location would absolutely have to be the lack of customer service, as others below have already noted. There is one young man in particular however, usually in self-checkout, who stands out as being incredibly helpful. He is attentive and even bags your items for you, as you are continuing to scan and check out, and is willing to help answer your questions and concerns. Keep up the good work and thank you! However, I have experienced others who are the complete opposite, refusing to even smile in your remote direction, and acting as though your presence is just a hinderance to their life, resorting to the silent treatment. I myself have worked with the public in a similar position in the past and like to think that I am empathic as to how truly difficult the job can be. However, that should not be taken out on the experience of the customer. One last note, the self-checkout stations are typically a complete nightmare, as people with carts filled with items get in line and clog it up for those who just wanted to make a quick run and then have no idea as to how to work the machine. It's a bit ridiculous when another customer only has to checkout milk, eggs, and bread, then having to wait twenty minutes to even check out. My suggestion would be for staff in this area to please monitor a bit more closely and address the cloggers to leave the self check out and go to the regular lineup. I think it would significantly help the flow of people within the store, as well as prevent lines that wrap into the actual aisles. read more

I've been shopping at this Stop & Shop location since it first open. It is always clean and a relatively pleasant grocery store. However, there are peak times in which it takes an hour or more to get a deli order. Also the lines are very long on Sundays- they should seriously consider having more cashiers. Upon visiting this Stop and Shop this morning, 06/13/20 at 111 Vredenburgh Avenue in Yonkers at 11:26 I could not believe how poorly managed it was regarding social distancing. Nobody was distancing themselves up and down the aisles, and nobody paid any attention to the arrows. Before leaving the store, I visited the help desk, and could not believe what I was told when I related my dissatisfaction to the woman behind the desk. She informed me that nothing could be done about this because adults cannot be told what to do. This was insane! Does she not know that we are in the midst of a pandemic? All she had to do was make an announcement reminding people to keep their distance and to be mindful of the arrows. Management needs to address these issues immediately! read more

I love this supermarket. When i first came here i was overwhelmed with all the isles and selections much bigger than my old neighborhood one in the Bronx. I now speed walk through the isles with my iPhone scanning my selections and walking out in no time. I love that they let you use the iPhone to scan the items and check out on the scan it line....Love that feature!! read more

The closest Stop & Shop around me. It's huge and most of the staff are friendly and helpful. It opens early until midnight. They got good deals all the time the best if you use their Stop and shop card you can earn points and used it for discount when you get gas at any shell station. The more points the more discount per gallon. Huge parking lot. This store is always busy whatever time you come.. So I always end up using the self pay aisle to pay. The bathroom at times is dirty and yes no soap.. But the produce are fresh. If I'm not in an Asian store, this is were I get all what I need. read more

since stop & shop start fresh quizzed orange juice i was there , but of lately the freshness waned and the taste , oh well it's watered downed , so one has to ask , and I did is the fresh made OJ watered down the manager uttered oh no its fresh OJ but he didn't me on the watered down fresh OJ to all not taking notice .. has as an notable apparent oil film on the plastic container when shaken. look for it ! if not see think watered down OJ especially if you seen white foam at top = + water. ask manager what happen to the variety back when stated they had added pulp or without, I do love their OJ... done right nothing better! read more

Wish I could give negative stars. This is the worst place in the world. I hate coming here so much it's a damn shame that I work around the corner and sometimes it's my only option. It's always packed, they're always out of stock and the staff is just plain nasty. Like they can't be bothered in the course of their strenuous day to help you find the one thing you came for in this mess of a store. Everything is unorganized, they have no stock, it's horrible. On a Saturday, a day when everyone is off and may do most of their shopping, they had no onions, no spicy peppers, limited meat selection, no herbs... so what do you have? After scrounging up what I could in the midst of the unorganized chaos, checking out with a cashier named Vanessa was the icing on the cake. Talk about "can't be bothered", I first thought this girl must be a mute. That was until I realized she was just rude. After a long day, I rushed to put all my items on the belt, and waited for her to start ringing items up, until I realized she wasn't. However she was just standing there with a scowl on her face, I'm thinking to myself, what the hell did I do wrong now? Took me a few seconds to realize she was waiting for me to hand her my stop and shop discount card, but she wasn't going to ask for it. She was just going to have a standoff with me until I remembered. Unreal. Gave me nasty looks the entire time as I spent my hard earned money at this hole. Went in today to look for a kosher turkey. When I couldn't find one, I looked for someone in the meat department to ask. Guy was chatting away with another customer. Chatting, not business. Ok. Everyone has friends, or needs a break. When the conversation was finished, though, he walked away without helping me. Hmmm. Maybe he didn't notice me. I kept on looking for my turkey. I love coming here . They have a fairly large variety but not much ethnic food selection . They have a Spanish or Latino isle and an Italian food isle with tons of pasta . That's the most variety culturally . I've seen better . But to be honest most of the store is packaged junk. The produce section is nice , I got a big container of spinach for $5! That's great . There's a tiny little fish market , be careful with that gmo salmon folks ! And there's a deli and they sell beer . Enjoy ! read more

not a bad stop n shop in yonkers that carry the usual supermarket offerings along with some organic products, international foods , etc. the foods, veggie , fish , meat sections and depts are well stocked .the parking lot is almost filled to limit and its not even 12pm so come early and do your shopping before the good stuff is gone. as with any major chain supermarket its about the weekly sales and stop and shop has plenty . so many aisles filled shelves can be overwhelming so just remember to take your time. high marks for the seafood dept that carries wide selection of wild caught sea critters and the meat dept with its organic chicken and more. checkout is fast and it should be with almost every cashier lite on . remember your stop and shop card for discounts and get them savings folks . read more

Danny Wegman should come here and slap someone. This location loses points due to a lack luster produce section (very hard to find high quality fruits and veggies depending on the time of year), widely varying customer service, and a pattern of being totally sold out of sale items and certain items in the produce section. So many times I've gone here it looks like a swarm of locusts has just finished ravaging the place. I can't really give them demerits for always seeming to be packed full of self absorbed people who can't seem to figure out reasonable methods of navigating their carts through a store without causing a complete calamity or entirely clogging whole aisles while they park perpendicular to foot traffic for unknown reasons, but that is a very real and very frustrating reality at this location. Your two check-out options here appear to be slow and ultra slow. The self-checkout, an idea formulated mainly to save time, is almost always a complete cluster of totally ignorant people scanning an entire cart full of groceries and inevitably having to wait for cashier assistance when the machine freezes or they are unsure of how to proceed with scanning something in their order. The machines themselves freeze and choke up, and the signature pad is unusable thanks to folks who had the great idea to scratch it to hell with their keys instead of using the attached stylus. If the crew here would regulate that area a little better, it could actually lead to an expeditious check out process, but because no such organization exists- bring a book along and be prepared to wait wait wait, no matter which line you go to. The staff experience here ranges wildly. I get really annoyed when I have to listen to staff complain to each other about other staff and/or their jobs in front of customers- but I've experienced that here more than once. I don't care about your Stop & Shop break room drama, please don't force me to listen to it as I check out. How about actually being polite to your customer and having a friendly conversation instead of focusing on how mad Janet made you when she ate the last twinkie in the lounge today? Other times, you will encounter very friendly staff, and still other times, staff that move so slowly you'd think a Guinness Record competition for world's slowest order processing is under way. I really, really recommend that your search for affordable groceries continues on beyond this location, especially for those who have unregulated hypertension. read more

I like this store. Maybe I'm just lucky because I always find the stuff I'm looking for on sale and I save a lot of money. Everything is pretty easy to find and the staff is nice. Their bakery is better than the other stop and shop locations. I like their store brand paper products (paper towels, napkins, tissue,etc.) they're a good value for the money. The Care One brand is also good. The store is always clean but the bathroom is kind of stinky. read more
