The worst experience and customer service EVER. The manager - the younger couple - are very rude and disrespectful. I called the customer service many times but the only thing you can do is to leave messages. No answer!!! Basically, I wanted to complain about the first day service that they didn't swap the locks for me and they didn't let me know that its their responsibility to do so, so I don't get stuck when I go to my unit. I insisted to get an answer on the phone and the guy hung up on me. Went to their office and asked them why the guy had to do that while I was talking to him also to explain my difficulty but the lady threatened to call the cops on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow........I got shocked and got really upset and told myslef to stand for my rights. I asked her to call the cops so I can talk to someone about their worst customer service ever. The officer told me this is the third time today (12/10/2012) that this ofice is calling for the police.........the cops were not surprised and they said this is a regular thing this office does... read more

First, the good (why two stars, not one). To be fair, I've never had a bad interaction with the staff, the facility is clean and pretty well maintained. It's a storage unit. HOWEVER (only stating the facts in my case): I've been there a little over a year and just received my SECOND price increase, adding to a whopping 56% increase. I called thinking it was a mistake, and they stuck to their guns. When I first asked about it, they admitted that they offer low prices to fill up, and then increase once at higher capacity. Hmm. Fantastic. Signed up for a decent sized storage unit here. Very professionally handled. John at the desk was very clear and thorough. They even offer locks so I literally showed up and in one shot was ready to move in. When I did move in, John saw me entering the facility and walked over to ask my movers and me if there was anything he could help with, and he even provided some temporary lighting. I have used over half a dozen storage facilities all over the U.S., moving around for work, and this has been, by far the best experience I've ever had. The hnits themselves are very clean too. I just received another $10 increase which has raised my rates just shy of double of what I initially paid in a little over two years. Don't be lured by a low rate because it WILL go up. Stor-IT: I understand you're banking on the fact that it's a pain to move a storage unit. You're taking advantage of that which is a shame. You've pushed me to the point where principal has exceeded my laziness and I'll be out by the end of the year. I have had my belongings in 4 different facilities in the past 18 months. The first was full of termites, the 2nd had awful lighting and a smell, the third was soo over priced it was ridiculous. I was surprised to have found this storage facility so close to my granddaughter"s gymnastics facility and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and the even gave me a free lock, considering the lock I was forced to buy at the third facility can not be used at most places. I have been a customer for 3 months and the facility is well maintined, carts available so you can unload and an elevator. I am satisfied with this storage and the fact that I will be leaving my belongings there for at least a year. Thank you Stor-It for solving a very difficult problem for me. read more

In response to the comments by the owners that there isn't a large spacing between the ceilings, and units is a lie, unless they reconstructed the inside of the building(s), and everything I've written is correct and truthful. As of today, if they have reconstructed their facility, then great, better for their business and the renter because I have long gone to a much better and newer facility at a lower cost. and if they now have some ventilation, then great too. I only reported the truth, and seeing is believing, and if they have remodeled the placed, then great, but the fact remains that I was evicted with a five day notice because I complained about the spacing and the heat, and the elevator. Oh well, at least I was truthful. and if they have changed their policy on eviction (gave me a five day notice to vacate), then great. I wouldn't have written this had not all that I reported wasn't truthful, so hopefully, management has changed their attitude and policy, and the buildings and storage units have been improved as well. Good Luck with this one.. MY SUGGESTION: RENT FROM THE BRAND NEW EXTRA SPACE RENTAL FACILITY LOCATED ON BECAUSE IT'S BRAND SPANKING NEW, AND THE STAFF IS GREAT WITH TRUE PEOPLE SKILLS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! Initially, I was impressed with the discount I received for my unit upstairs, but after constantly dealing with the extreme heat, and manipulating the elevator's doors to work properly, and the amount of stairs to climb to the 2nd floor, in addition to the wide opening across the top of each unit which was wide enough for someone's access, it would have been okay if not having to access it frequently. The women support staff were friendly, unlike the head male clerk, who without provocation from me, evicted me with a 5 day notice telling me "You aren't happy here, so leave!", which was the most unprofessional behavior from a business I've ever seen, which was probably due to me mentioning the so-called security to the units which had an opening at the top of every unit, large enough for an individual to access via a ladder. As for security onto the grounds, don't let the key gate entrance fool you, because anyone can easily tag along the car ahead of them for access to the premises, and especially since there are no cameras inside the storage buildings, anyone can break into the units. Oh, one more thing, while I was there, I could smell gasoline fuel near my unit, in which I inquired among the staff and was informed they had no knowledge of, and would investigate, but according to them, it wasn't noticeable, nor an isssue. Bottom line, you get what you pay for, and in this case, much less. read more

They start the prices off cheap then raise them before the end of the first year. They lied to me about how often they raise the rates. Really upsetting considering all my stuff is there, now and the amount of time and money to move my stuff somewhere else exceeds the costs of paying their price increase. read more

I have been a customer of Stor It Self Storage in Aliso Viejo for about 10 years.The storage units are clean and affordable. Recently I decided to change to a smaller unit and the staff was really extremely helpful. My favorite part of my experience in all the years I have been there, is doing business with Kim.
