1 STAR -- READ THIS BEFORE RENTING Apparently, Public…read moreStorage has discovered the perfect business model: lure people in with an affordable price, then keep raising it until "affordable" becomes a punchline. Brilliant for corporate profits--not so brilliant for the people paying the bill. A lot of people who need storage are already downsizing, selling their homes, or struggling financially because of today's economy. So naturally, the solution is to keep increasing their storage costs. Because why not squeeze a little more out of people who are already struggling? READ THE FINE PRINT. Then read it again. That attractive introductory price is apparently just the honeymoon period. The facility is clean, but that's about where the compliments end. I left a message at the Whitman location and waited two or three days for a response. Apparently, customer service is stored somewhere off-site too. Public Storage: customers are people, not walking ATMs. Maybe try remembering that. Shame on you. Do better. And to anyone considering renting: BEWARE. Ask questions, watch those rate increases, and don't assume that the price you're promised today is the price you'll be paying tomorrow.
