I got their special which was a sirloin, 3 coconut shrimps, fries, and a side salad, I got the steak rare and everything was just good. I've been wanting to try this place for over a year! Finally made time to check it out, and I can only wonder why I didn't make this happen sooner. The service was stellar (thanks Kelsey), and the food did not disappoint. My husband had the Reuben and he quickly proclaimed it was THE BEST Reuben he's had since moving here. I had the Fish and Chips, which were excellent, fresh and perfectly battered. The servings were plentiful and you will not leave hungry! We left stuffed, and with a couple boxes of leftovers. This seems to be your average Sports Bar that's been around for a very long time. The place was packed on a Thursday afternoon. Not sure why, but they do have a lot of parking and the weather was a bit chilly. Regardless there are a few things for this review being a 3. There is no signage about seating, so don't wait to be told, just find an open spot and sit. The server seemed a bit overwhelmed but was still attentive. We waited longer than I felt was normal to get our meals , 2 burgers and a BLT with fries. When they came they were on the cool side of freshly done as if they had been sitting there waiting to be served. Condiments are at the table, though you can ask for other extras like mayo or tartar sauce. Overall, it was just a meh experience and we probably wouldn't return. I've been here before but my wife had not. The last time through it's was decent, but not what I would call great. Service was ok and the food was greasy, kind of like my first visit. It's definitely bar food, in a bar environment. Would I go here again, sure if buddies were meeting here, would I go as a first choice, probably not. read more

Checked out a home in the wall place for the first time. Entered at the street and quickly found out I was supposed to enter through the back. It was Friday night and the place was packed around 5 pm. The waitress got us a drink while we were waiting for a table to open... Nice touch. As I looked around everyone... Yes, I mean everyone had the special on their plate. Halibut and fries. Well, "while in Rome..." I also got a side of fried mushrooms. While I was impatient, I did scold my mouth on the mushrooms... Be warned, let them cool longer than you think. The clam chowder was tasty which was an option work my meal. We had a great meal. Staff was great too. We saw they had lots of weekly specials, many were 2 meals for the price of one. This place was worth the adventure of trying new places. We will be back. read more

Fish and chips were pretty good, chowder was not great had a canned flavor and coleslaw was overly sweet. Tarter was good. Old fashion drinks were not great. Something missing . Guess it isn't the type of bar that does well on these. Stick to mixed drinks or beer. The crowd is definitely older and friendly. Service was good. read more

Nice little hole in the wall bar and grill. The burger and crispy fires were great. They cooked the burger just how I asked and it didn't take very long at all. Happy hour prices are hard to beat. Place is an old bar. Very cozy and clean. Very busy but the two girls there are on their game. They have a self-serve popcorn machine. Addictive so be careful not to fill up before your food. They have a daily special so I ordered the T-Bone steak with salad and loaded potato. Let me just say the steak was amazing, tender and tasty. The baked potato is served with all the condiments separately so you do it yourself. All in all, excellent place, I will go back for the liver and onions and gizzards! read more

I have been going to Dave's since 1992 and the food was nothing but excellent and outstanding, I left in 2021 for five years and I come back and ordered the prime rib, it was $32 with a glass of water, the meat was tough and flavorless, I could've pan Friday, Chuck roast, and it would've been better, too expensive and the quality has gone way down. Dave's has been a favorite of mine since I was a teenager. The decor and food has hardly changed in 25 years. They have lots of pull tabs and free popcorn. The waitresses seem overworked and tired but they did a good job. I got the special which was one biscuit and gravy, 2 eggs and choice of meat for $11.99. My eggs came out runny, even though I ordered them over medium. They charge you $3.50 per soda (no free refills) and the soda comes filled with ice so you barely get anything to drink. The food itself was excellent. The two plates of food along with two sodas came out to $34 and some change. Be prepared to wait for a table because it gets busy on the weekends for breakfast. read more

Impressive service on a busy holiday. I visited on St. Patrick's Day for their corned beef and cabbage. Even with the heavy crowds, the service at the bar was quick and efficient. Was traveling by and read good reviews so had to try the food. Had the prime rib special and ask for medium well. I got the dinner the prime rib was tough and had no flavor. I couldn't eat it and my partner order the same thing and his was not as tough as mine but still had no flavor. We weren't from the area so didn't feel like letting our waitress know this. read more

"Maybe" depending on your reason for visiting. Of all my comments = do I think this place has really good memorable food? No I do not. Do I think they have a wonderful selection of beer and wine and mixed drinks? No they are just average. Would I take a female on a date to this place? No I would not because she would think I'm a cheap man and most ladies don't like a man like that. Do I think the decor and tables and seating are above average and really nice? No, not at all simply common and average or a little bit below average but then again it is just a local neighborhood hole in the wall bar and plenty of people would like that. I didn't find anything to be impressed about. Now that I have been, will I make the drive from across the Idaho state line and visit this place again? No I will not. There are plenty of places over to CDA and Spokane Valley and all the way into Spokane that are much better for about the same price. read more

Traveling towards home on a long journey and found this gem! Being unfamiliar, I was a sceptic walking in. Drew, the owner, immediately gave our daughter a hat! Which looks awesome on her. Everyone ordered the Friday night special. She ordered the filet but they were out that night and offered a New York strip steak and baked potato. She said it was delicious! My husband and I had the fish and chips and it was light and hearty. Then waitress said they're 3rd in the state for that meal and I can see why! All of the drinks were perfect. I'm new to the area and learned about Dave's Bar & Grill from a local "Top Ten" list. I chose Dave's for the sole reason that the Yelp photos included a Rueben sandwich, my husband's out of town / I miss him / he loves Rueben sandwiches and the photo cheered me up. The restaurant, like its name, is unpretentious. I drove by it several times before I finally use my navigation to pinpoint it. I think I ended up parking in a drug store parking lot and walking to the door on Sprague avenue. As luck would have it, I went in through the back door. I think most people enter on the side opposite from Sprague Avenue. Inside the door was a gentleman at the table who greeted me warmly, so I presume this was Dave although I am not sure. I seated myself as is customary there and ordered the (you guessed it!) Rueben sandwich. You could get either french fries or salad on the side. I chose the salad. I asked if their ranch dressing was any good, and was informed that all their dressings are Litehouse brand dressing. So if you are a fan of Litehouse you'll be happy with the dressing. The salad is a plain iceberg type of salad. It was nice. The star of the show was indeed the Reuben. First I was thinking that its deliciousness teleported me to some famous deli in New York that might be known for its pastrami, and then I considered that perhaps I time traveled backwards to where pastrami was invented or the first marble rye was baked. The sandwich was otherworldly, in my humble opinion. I cannot recommend it enough. I can hardly wait for my husband to return from his trip so that I can take him here. I'm not sure if he'll get the Reuben or not, although the chances are pretty good. From what I saw of the cuisine coming out of the kitchen, I know both he and I will be pleased with anything placed before us! No wonder it made a top 10 list amongst a bunch of chi-chi restaurants and bistros. my only regret is that I didn't beg them to sell me a loaf of their marble rye before I left. read more
