I would not return. For starters, I had the king crab. This was totally tasteless being obviously frozen for a very long time. Then the shrimp were also what appeared to be cheap Taiwan farmed shrimp. Bland and the only flavor comes from the sauce. Third the unbelievable prices here. Once I picked it up, I was looking for something substantial to eat and remembered Storming Crab--where I've eaten several times before and always enjoyed the food. I pulled into the parking lot and walked up to the door. The first thing I noticed was a set of signs posted outside. One lengthy sign explained that your entire party must be present before being seated, and no one can join late. I get the reasoning behind it (nobody wants a table tied up for an hour waiting on extra people), but it still felt a little off-putting. If you've got five out of six people, at least let them order drinks and appetizers while waiting. Anyway, I walked in. The hostess was behind the stand. I said, "Just one," and she replied, "We're taking to-go orders only." That was it. No "sorry," no "thanks for coming in," no effort at empathy. She wasn't outright rude, but the tone was indifferent, like my being there didn't matter. I double-checked online, and it clearly says they close at 10 PM. Nowhere did I see anything about dine-in service ending earlier. No signs on the door about seating being cut off at 9. It was just a flat "no" at the door. Here's the bottom line: the food here is good--I've had it before and liked it. But I'm on the road a lot, I eat out a lot, and what really stands out to me these days isn't just the food--it's how you're treated. I just want to feel like I'm appreciated as a customer. On a night like this, I probably would have dropped $60-$75 easily (I usually order around two pounds of shrimp). We're not talking about chump change. The decor is similar to other boil spots I've been to - allowing you to write on the walls. So the food... we went for lunch and ordered the lunch portion bags. I had a 1 lb of crab legs and 1/2 lb of shrimp. I swapped my corn for sausage and had potatoes. Overall, the food was similar to other boil bag places. Friends visited and had a taste for some Louisiana seafood in Tennessee. I was clueless but locals suggested Storming Crab. The reviews looked legit so we gave it a try and to my surprise, It is a whole vibe. I love the Louisiana decor, photo op wall, sign the walls, helpful staff, and extensive menu. Drink- Sweet tea and yes it is very sweet Appetizer- seafood bread with fried Okra. Entree- Crawfish Étouffée Combo 3- whole Lobster, crawfish, clams, corn, red potato, and sausage with Medium Heat and Old Bay Seasoning. The combos are made to order and presented in clear bag marinating in preferred choice of Heat and Flavor seasoning. It is messy but don't worry gloves and bibs are provided as well as; a soap and water station available as needed. The food did not disappoint that my friends went two days in a row. In my MANY years, I have never been to a crab boil place. So when visiting my son here in Clarksville, I figured this would be a great time to try. My parents had driven up from North Carolina to visit as well, making it an even better idea. We arrived just before they opened and surprisingly they welcomed us with open arms. We were seated immediately, and even accommodated my request to be away from the front door . . . it was 51° outside and I do live in Hawaii. They took our drink order and briefly explained the menu as well as the basic ordering techniques. Returned almost immediately with seafood cheese toast as a stater. OMG!!! So good!!! We ordered a "custom" combo, indulging in 3 lbs of head-off shrimp in a garlic butter sauce, combined with sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes. My son, mother and I donned a plastic bib and plastic gloves then literally double fisted the feast. My dad, since they don't offer hamburgers, elected for the deep fried cod platter. Apparently it was good since there were only fries left at the end of the meal. We left feeling gluttonous and VERY satisfied. Well worth it if you're in the mood for a seafood feast. read more

My first seafood boil and it did not disappoint. Don't go here if you're trying to save money but I think the price was on par for the food you get. I got a pick 3 combo (crawfish, clams, and lobster tail) mixed with corn, sausage, and potatoes. My personal opinion is I might go with broccoli instead of sausage if I go back but you might need the sausage to keep the flavor up? Idk on that one. It tasted great and the waitress helped me figure out what and how to order and learn how to eat a crawfish which I hadn't done before. My friend took me to Storming Crab for my birthday today. There were 2 booths available and one party waiting. I asked for a booth because I am partially deaf and cannot hear well in open spaces. The hostess would not seat us at the open booth because of waitress rotation. I said shouldn't it be about the customer needs. The hostess and I quote "No it is not about the customer" with a scowl. In addition she had asked the other waitress if she could seat us in the booth and she said yes. I just left because the hostess (bob length brown hair and glasses) was rude. This post was based on the customer experience. We called in the order and they looked up our last order. The only thing we added was an additional 1/2 pound of shrimp and one order of broccoli. When I arrived I paid for the food and once I pulled out the boil I knew immediately they did not make the food correctly. I asked Dominique if this is correct and she ignored me and said yes like she had something else important to do. So I asked my husband to go inside and they gave him a hard time. Instead of just dropping 1/2 pound of shrimp and side of broccoli they made us wait an additional 15 minutes just to make it all over again. There seems to be a need for training the staff and how to handle incorrect orders efficiently. The way this situation was handled was poorly. We opted for shrimp, scallops, and lobster tails with garlic sauce as well as the regular Cajun seasoning with spice. Your meal comes with handy gloves, bibs, and a bucket for your shells. Your food arrives in plastic bags. Our shellfish was fresh and the flavors were just so tasty. A lot of people rave how wonderful the food is here. It reminds me of a restaurant in Fort Walton Beach, FL. You eat seafood with your hands. The highlight of this place to me is the hushpuppies! OMG! I use to just eat just hushpuppies at one time in my life. It was my main food source, and the hushpuppies in Storming Crab brought a wave of nostalgia to me. It was exactly like the little hushpuppies I use to get as a takeout and eat. My friends really liked them too. We all got complimentary cheese bread too. Very nice. My friends adore and order the shrimp, crab legs, and crawfish here. I didn't eat those items. I ordered gumbo instead. It tasted like good canned or frozen gumbo not the fresh gumbo I had in the past. Honestly, I cook better gumbo than Storming Crab. Service from our server was great. Casey was a nice server and very honest about the food. She said the crab was her personal favorite there and vouched for the hushpuppies despite the bad reviews of them. I appreciated her honesty and all our requests were met efficiently. No wait time. Five stars. The hostess was not so forthcoming. I asked her about the food there, and she said to ask the waitress instead...not a great sign. If you work in the restaurant, you should be familiar with the food or what food the clients prefer. I felt brushed aside. The place was not busy, and she didn't seem to care. So, two stars to the hostess. Bathrooms were clean. Food was fair to super yum. I love seafood boils and I'm always on the look out for a good place. My husband found this place and I wanted to try while here. I'm so glad I did. Their seafood bread is to DIE FOR. it's sooooooo good. Their seafood is great too. We got their house sauce and it was just right. Their crawfish huge! And shrimp cooked to perfection. I love having head on shrimp and should've checked when I ordered so I was a little disappointed that my shrimps came headless. My fault though. I should've asked. However, I still ate it. I paid attention when I was peeling the shell off of the shrimp. I noticed that it was unusually hard to unshell the shrimp. So for that one shrimp... that I was paying attention to... I notice when using my thumb nail to try and push the shell off of the shrimp, SHRIMP POOP spewed out! I'm good! Check please!
