Waste of time to eat at this place. Customer service sucks with the management. They brought out spicy hot food to us and gave the mild sauce food to another table when mild sauce was originally requested. After requesting to speak with Olaina the manager on duty she was very confrontational and refuse to own up to any mistakes made and did not want to even say sorry about the mistake. When she was told we didn't want the food and just give us a refund she only wanted to argue her point that this was not there fault that our order came out spicy then acted as if she had a problem with giving us back a refund for our food. I'll be for sure to let everyone I know not to eat here with the bad customer service experience that no one should ever receive. Horrible Experience for myself and the party we brought with u!!! I had been here a few times before covid and it was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious. I just went in there today and ordered 1lb of king crab and it was DISGUSTING. Was frozen, possibly old and horribly over cooked and rubbery. They brought out the bag with almost no butter in it and the shell was soft and bendable. Then the meat was small, filled with water and beyond rubbery. I immediately wanted to puke. I'm only giving three stars because the server was pleasant and brought us a sample of the seafood bread which was the only good thing I can say. The food was bland. The portions were small for the price. Nothing tasted like it had been seasoned at all. The shrimp po boy had 6 shrimp on it that weren't that large. Everywhere else I get them, it's loaded down. The sauce that was on it looked like a remoulade but only had a bit of a sweet flavor. Cajun food is supposed to have a little kick or at least flavor. I was very disappointed. This review is based on experience not the review 24 day old review. So i currently live on the gulf coasts of Mississippi where i can throw a ruck and hit a sea food spot. And being so near the New Orleans and Alabama sea food restaurants, featured restaurants on food network, and the whole in the wall shops. So visiting Nashville this weekend, decided to grab some sea food, because why not try seafood. So the restaurant is nice and has character to it. The food sucks.... like I'm not going to lie, it was terrible. The seafood in a bag was an interesting take. Steam the food in a bag. O by the way i had no idea that they would give me gloves and a bib to eat the food with. That was a surprise to me. So the reason the food was so bad wasn't the smell, wasn't the presentation, it was the amount of seasoning that was in the bag. Like it was layered in the bag. And to make it more upsetting we got the grilled Oysters. Now I'm all for taking time to properly grill Oysters. They were hot when they came out. The taste not so much.. But what makes this review a 2 star was the next day. My body didn't agree with the food and it burned.... I'll just leave it at that. The only reason they have a 2 star is, our waiter was great. Came here on a Wednesday for a work lunch. The waitstaff was very helpful and nice. The food came out quickly and was AMAZING. I got the traditional Cajun boil and added sausage. Even the lunch portion was more than I could eat! Overall, the restaurant was clean, the employees were smiling and accommodating and it was a great experience! I am normally used to ordering crawfish and crabs as a boil, where they have been steamed with seasonings along with potatoes and corn etc. This place serves everything in a bag full of butter! They expect you to pick everything out by hand from this bag that is seriously 1/3 filled with butter! That's really not my thing. The crawfish were extremely mealy like they had been frozen. We arrived around 3pm and they were pretty busy and had a wait time, so we just sat at the bar instead. The bartender immediately greeted us and was very attentive the entire time we were there. We ordered gator meat as an appetizer and it was very delicious. We also got complimentary bread that was very good. We ordered a combo boiled bag that was enough to feed 2. I felt the price was very reasonable. However, it took our food a very long time to come out and when I say long...it was 50 minutes. So I'm giving 4 stars because of the good food and friendly staff, but deducting a star because they have some processes that need to be worked out because 50 minutes is a long time to wait for food. read more

I loved this experience. I tried it alone, at the bar and was excited to get food based solely on how the place smelled. Wonderful blend of flavor!! It just smelled like flavor. The service at the bar was really great and they were helpful with the menu....as I've just recently been introduced to food in a bag at Legin's. Right before the food came out, I was given my bib and gloves. Gloves? That was new....but quite helpful. All those flavor aromas come from all that delicious spice, garlic and butter in the bags. I grew up on the coast with some amazing seafood and this place is right on par with my high expectations. The restaurant is brand new as of January and has a wooden nautical vibe. It was clean and there was no wait. Our server was attentive and kept our drinks filled. We opted for a dinner combo with crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, sausage, corn and potatoes. We chose the Cajun flavor with medium heat. You customize the flavors to tour taste so major plus. The meal came in a large bag put on top of our butcher paper. We got a bib , gloves, and a seafood cracker. I'm very impressed with the amount of food for the price. Two people ate and we have enough to take home for around 40 bucks. I also had the seafood bread which in my opinion tasted like seafood flavored mayonnaise. My meal came with 2 crabs, corn on the cob, and one and a half red potatoes. Went for lunch on a Saturday, not too busy on arrival. Greeted upon entry requested to sit at bar. Nathan was absolutely great in explaining the menu ( can be a little tricky). For starters we decided on grilled oysters 1/2 doz garlic 1/2 doz cajun. The cajun half were delicious, the garlic butter were good just too much garlic and im a fan of garlic. A much needed Cajun place in the Madison/Rivergate area. The decor and design of the restaurant is extremely well done, it captures the vibe of the Gulf Coast very well. You can sign your name on the walls which is a nice touch and really connect patrons to the restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered boudin balls as an appetizer, delicious, and I ordered the fried scallops for my main course, which was very delicious, I loved it. The seafood bread is also heavenly. I wasn't crazy impressed with my mom's shrimp po'boy when I tried it, I think the shrimp recipe could use improving. The batter was very grainy. I also wish that gumbo and jumbalaya were options, this place is more or less exclusive to boils. Overall, a really solid place and a welcome addition to the Madison/Rivergate food scene. read more

I personally can't eat a pound of seafood and would rather not try to reheat seafood. I ordered the snow crab with shrimp boil and hush puppies. I highly recommend the hush puppies as they are great for soaking up the buttery seasonings in the seafood boil. I chose the cajun seasoning with medium heat which was just warm enough to get a low tingle of the lips. My meal came with a piece of seafood bread that was very yummy. I had a Dungeness crab, sausage and shrimp mix w/garlic butter to go. When my daughter picked up the food, she said they were the friendliest folks she's encountered in a long time. I will say this, they are not stingy with their food. My meal was packed with a lot of shrimp and crab. I personally don't think I'll order the Dungeness again and will stick to king crab. We went on a Wednesday at 5ish and was seated right away. The food is boiled to order so there was a bit of a wait but it came out VERY hot and fresh. I ordered a pound of shrimp and it came with one piece of corn and some potatoes. My mom got combo 1 sub more shrimp instead of crawfish, which gave her two pounds of shrimp several pieces of corn, more potatoes and also smoked sausage. Weigh those options before deciding, next time I will do what she did - it equals out to be a better cost vs amount option. Everything was amazing! My daughter had kids meal fried shrimp and it was a very large serving with fries for such a cheap price. My husband had the chicken strips and he said they were great as well. 10/10, can't wait to go back!!! read more

The broccoli is a sleeper food! Who knew it would be so good! I mean the rest was stellar too. Had snow crab and shrimp with sausage and corn, but the broccoli was the star. And it made me feel better to eat a veggie even though it was drenched and marinated in hot Cajun old bay butter. Apps were ok. Onion rings were a wash, crab cakes good but only got 2 and idk what the side things were with the crab cakes but I could forget those. Those are the only reason for not giving 5 stars. King crab legs tasted like it was either reheated multiple times that day or just not fresh at all. Very disappointed how the most expensive item turned out to be very unpleasant and Cold. Po boy chicken sandwich was mostly batter rather than chicken and only a few pieces of it was in the sandwich, and when I mean pieces I mean pieces like maybe 1 chicken tender that was chopped up and sprinkled on top of lettuce. If you're a true seafood fan steer clear, you would be better off buying your own seafood frozen or fresh and making it at home! Food will make you sick as well and upset your stomach. So if you aren't ready to miss work the next day I suggest finding another seafood place to find. Also was refused a refund when brought to their attention aswell. Said I needed a doctors note, going to the hospital just to get a note will cost me more then the refund. Never eating here again. read more

So let me start by saying I'm a bartender and have been a server for years now... This was ABSOLUTELY most uncomfortable and unsatisfying service I have EVER seen or been through. My boyfriend and I walk in and get seated by what looks like a host and a she sat us at the table in the very back of the room by the drink station for servers... note we can hear and see all front of house employees. One server comes over and gets out drinks and asked if we were ready to order and we said a couple more min and about 15 min after watching every server pass us someone finally takes our order (this wouldn't normally bother me because I know how it feels to be in a rush, I work in a fast paced sports bar and have been in the weeds too) it's what came next that infuriated my boyfriend and I... almost as soon as we order the table directly behind us walks up to one of the servers and starts yelling at them. The customer was upset that one of the servers asked the table to pay BEFORE EVER RECEIVING THEIR MEAL. (Note the table being African American and my boyfriend and I are both Caucasian) the woman seemed extremely offended and even asked if it was because of her race ... the server then starts to argue that it wasn't because of her race and it was because a lot of people have been walking out on servers and not paying and that if a table walks out the server has to pay IN FULL for the tables meal. MY BOYFRIEND AND I WERE NEVER ASKED TO PAY BEFORE WE GOT OUR FOOD !!!! The server that was arguing with this poor woman was also the woman that seated my boyfriend and I and also happened to be the manager of the store. Then this manager saw the table behind us talking about how she was offended by the payment policy of paying before you ever see what your paying for .... Walks up to her and says that it is because of her age she has to pay early. To confirm she had the money. She literally had the money to pay on the table to prove she could pay for her meal. All of the co works preceded to talk negatively about the table and my boyfriend and I could hear everything because they were at the drink station right infront of us... how dare this store be so RACIST AND DESCRINATING..... they litterally make me sick..... if I was that table I would sue the restaurant.... I have never seen something like that happen before. I have only ever seen this situation on the internet and I literally said to my boyfriend it felt like an episode of WHAT WOULD YOU DO? The first thing you notice when you walk in is all the graffiti everywhere. Im guessing it is part of the design but it just makes the place look like a rest stop restroom. There was an attempt at a nautical theme but it's overshadowed by the graffiti, the cheap stuffed sharks, and the multiple signs telling you parties of 6 or more will be charged 18% gratuity. The server did a good job and was probably the savior of the entire visit. The food was just ok. Crab cakes were flavorless and cold in the center. The "boiled cajun" seafood was boiled but definitely not cajun. Again no flavor. Price was about normal $50 for 2 people before tip. Being from cajun country i am a bit spoiled and picky when it comes to food, so i will take that into account and i would give them a 2nd chance. read more

We absolutely love this place! We tried the "other" place in Hendersonville this week. It was awful compared to this restaurant! We highly recommend this especially if you love a boil! Go to place the order and the girl at the bar clearly was ready to go home lol just rude and short . Asked for lemons to go and she said no more lemons for the night. TF ? she said all the lemons that had been cut for the day were gone. I said can we get a whole lemon ? She was like ummmm yes I'll have to charge you .
