Wow. Chicken Salad Chick was amazing! This has been trending online so I figured I would give it a try when we saw one in Hendersonville. The young lady who took our order was so sweet and even let me try the Sassy Scotty before I ordered it- which is so nice considering they already sell small portions to "sample". This is what great service looks like! She took me through the menu and gave me some suggestions. I got the Sassy Scotty and my dad got the Holly Jalapeño, both as sandwiches. I'm not over exaggerating when I say this was seriously the best chicken salad I've ever had. If you come here you need to get the Sassy Scotty. It's a unique combination of cheese & bacon that you usually don't see! We got our food quickly and decided to eat in because the place was super adorable- not to mention spotless. I was a big fan of this chain a few years ago. Moved and we are not so close to one anymore. But recently visited your location in Murfreesboro TN and was not impressed. I ordered a classic carol on wheat bread and the chicken salad was much less as in the past, in fact I pulled away half the bread and it never touched the contents. If I had to guess it was between 2 1/2 and 3 ounces. My side of soup looked a couple days old, as it had a brownish color (potato soup). It was tasty, but not fresh. The tables need a good cleaning or new coverings, things just felt a bit lackluster. read more

My guilty conscience finally got to me. After eating unhealthy for the past few days, I decided to eat something lighter. Today's destination took me to Chicken Salad Chick. Honestly the reason that brought me here was the outdoor patio (although it's just two tables). The weather today is gorgeous and mild, so why not eat outside? I've been here many times before, but that was before I put much effort in being a Yelper. I think subconsciously, girls and chicken salad go together like white on rice. After all, look at Chicken Salad Chick's story: it's a woman owned restaurant and every chicken salad is named after a woman close to Stacy Brown (the founder). So the clientele here is mostly women here. I didn't see but one other guy here out of what, 20 or so women? But who says a guy can't enjoy a good chicken salad? I opted for a Chicken Salad BLT VS a regular sandwich. FYI, the BLT is exactly the same as the regular sandwich. Both come with lettuce and tomato (with your choice of white, wheatberry, or croissant) except you get slices of bacon for 50 cents more. Unless you're pork intolerant, Muslim, or just don't like bacon, bacon is good on anything. It comes with another scoop of chicken salad in a plate, a side, or a cup of soup. You can make it a trio (another choice of the above items) for an additional cost of 2$ more. I chose the Sassy Scotty as my accompanying chicken salad on my BLT and got a side of fresh fruit. The entrees come with a dill pickle spear and a tiny prepackaged small round buttercream frosted cookie. The Sassy Scotty is named after the founder's childhood best friend. It's described as a chicken salad with a "zesty blend of ranch, bacon, & cheddar cheese." The draw here was the bacon on bacon (BLT). Served on toasted white bread, it was a as good as you would expect. Creamy, salty, bacon-y. The bread was perfectly toasted and the veggies were fresh. My only complaint is that a "scoop" (which is what they measure as your chicken salad portion) is only 4 ounces. When put on a sandwich, it becomes a thin layer as it's spread over the surface area of your bread slice. 4 ounces isn't a lot and I would personally prefer more. I mean when I've made any kind of meat salad (chicken or tuna salad) at home, I pile it on so high, it's falling out of my sandwich as I'm eating it. Like a sloppy Joe. But hey, it's a business and they have to make money. Maybe they'll do 6 ounces one day or better yet, 8 ounces. One can only dream. The fresh fruit, which is just a fruit cup, is the best fruit cup I've ever had. I'm speaking strictly from the fact that every other restaurant that advertises a fruit cup on the menu is really just serving cantaloupe chunks with a sprinkling of other fruits. Cantaloupe fruit cups are the WORST (so are mandarin orange fruit cups... I'm looking at you Chick-fil-A). So if you can't tell, I hate cantaloupe. CSC's fruit cup is a nice serving of fruits that go well together: strawberries, blueberries, and white (green) and red grapes. Fresh and tart, the only thing that is missing IMO is fresh pineapple. The tiny buttercream cookie was really good despite it being prepackaged. Soft and sugary, it hit the sweet tooth spot just fine. You can get a bigger cookie up at the counter (along with other sweet baked goods). Overall CSC is a good spot for those that love chicken salad. If you don't like chicken salad, there's unfortunately not many other options for you. My only complaint is that 4 oz is too small of a scoop for the price you pay. But still, I'll continue to eat here. read more

If you've never ordered from here before I would recommend taking a look at the to-go menu before hopping in line cause they have a lot of different options. I ordered the Classic Carol Chicken Salad sandwich with lettuce and tomato with a side of their broccoli salad. My fiancé also got the Classic Carol Chicken Salad Sandwich on white bread without the lettuce and tomato and a scoop of the Olivia's Old South Chicken Salad on the side. Once we ordered we found a seat and waited for our food to be brought over to us. The place is really cute, it feels quite homey and I like how bright it was in there. You could tell how fresh everything was made and prepared. I must say they really do make quite a delicious chicken salad. All the orders come with a cute little cookie too. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the different options on the menu which made ordering a little easier. It was quite a lovely lunch and I look forward to going back. This really isn't a place I plan to visit again. All of the sandwiches/scoops I've tried have been lacking in flavor or way too salty. The last thing I ordered was the spicy pimento cheese on a croissant. The amount of spread on the croissant was very thing, but I'm glad it was because all I could taste was salt. You can choose lettuce salads with a scoop of chicken salad or pimento cheese on top. They also have a variety of sandwiches and salads that include choice of side and a homemade cookie. I ordered the seasonal side salad ($3.99) which was a generously-sized container of fresh mixed greens, sliced strawberries, feta, walnuts, dried cranberries, and choice of dressing. I added a side pasta salad (tri-color rotini pasta in an Italian-based dressing with feta & parmesan cheeses, black olives, & artichoke hearts) for $2.79 but it was a teeny tiny cup and though it was very good, didn't feel worth the price. Total lack of flavor and over priced. Ordered croissant with fancy fruit chicken salad sandwich. The chicken was as though it had been pureed, no apple, no pecans and I think there was a grape and a half in the whole sandwich. Would expect much better from a shop that claims to be specialists in chicken salads......pretty lousy at best. Other sandwich was pimiento cheese blt and requested added mayo....not there. My wife and I have been going to the Hendersonville location since it opened. The food is great, the restaurant is nice and clean. We love the food but we have complained for two years about how cold it is inside. Last summer, 2021, we were told by staff that the landlord controlled the temperature and they had no way to change it. This summer, I have had several conversations with two managers and a shift leader. Excuses ran from a pre-programmed thermostat to "management wont allow us to change it". Finally, the manager on duty agreed that it was always cold and said to give her two weeks and she would get it fixed. After no change, the shift leader told me it was always 65 degrees inside and he would also like to be able to adjust the temperature. He gave me a number to text to get in touch "with some people who care". I wrote a request for contact but did not get a response. We have stopped dining there, other than an occasional pickup order while some of the employees show up in hoodies, customers come in during 90 degree days with sweaters and jackets and others would prefer to sit outside in hot summer temps rather than deal with the cold inside. This spot has a lot of potential for five stars if they weren't starting to skimp on the food. I got a salad with one scoop of Fruity Fran chicken salad and an extra scoop of Cranberry Kelly. They ran out of lettuce so I got spinach only which was fine because it is a favorite of mine but it had NO cherry tomatoes & NO cucumbers which is always comes and is in the description. Never addressed that with us, just did it. The Fruity Fran had more fruit to flavor it before, same problem with the Cranberry Kelly. Just bland and boring! I want to support our local small businesses, especially after Covid, but this is getting ridiculous. Charge a price that you need to to give us a full portion with all ingredients included. read more

And really it's nothing over the top that will knock you on your knees BUT it is just "down home good chicken salad" I first tried the Classic Carol at the Hendersonville location and I loved it...the next day I was down in Murfreesboro and tried the Cranberry Kelli and OMG...so good!! Very good Chicken Salad and I am not a Chicken Salad fan AT ALL. I went hungry. Oh boy. The service was amazing. They were quite helpful in helping me order. Let's just say I ordered a lot and brought it home to for later. They have a the walk up order take a number and wait. Again the service was outstanding. The food, very very very good. I don't eat chicken salad very often so to try it, was a nice change of pace. They have several to pick from. Tried this place for the first time last week and it did not disappoint! I was craving chicken salad and stumbled upon this establishment on Google. It was delicious! I ordered the "Classic Carol" chicken salad on a croissant. They offer free samples if you're unsure of which one tickles your fancy so I tried the "jalapeño holly" which was delicious, so I will be ordering that next time. They give you a generous portion (including the side of your choosing) and a delicious sugar cookie as a dessert. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The concept of this cafe is unique and delicious. The service was phenomenal too! The gentleman at the counter was inviting and patient as it was my first time ordering and was a little unsure of what to order. I can't speak to anything on the menu but the mini chicken salad sandwiches as I was at a conference in the Hendersonville area and a presenter provided several platters of them. I sampled 4 different type of chicken salad sandwiches, each on a finger-food sized croissant. All were great and I'm generally not a huge fan of chicken salad--they weren't drowning in mayonnaise and the chicken was tender and flavorful, the croissant soft but not soggy. Interesting but limited concept. There was nothing wrong at all here but I struggle to see why folks might go out of their way to visit. However, from the decor to the very name I am clearly not the target demographic. The light green interior is decorated with accolades for the founder and the restaurant concept. You order and are given a number. The staff was to their credit extremely friendly. I went with the BLT with the sassy scotty and a egg salad scoop on the side. They have about 12 different chicken or egg salad combos (tuna too I think) you can do some scoops with bread to go with it or like me get a sandwich white, wheat, or croissant rolls. With a drink it's going to be about a 13 to 14 buck lunch which for me is just alot for chicken salad. The seating is mostly high backed booths and while ultra comfortable means during lunch rush there are far more folks than seats. As far as the food goes the egg salad was top notch but the sassy scotty was a little strong for the BLT, I'd do that one with the egg salad next time. It certainly didn't help that the bacon was thin and limp and the bread similar to off the shelf loaves at Kroger. One nice surprise though was a delicious cookie. But honestly it was not high quality food to me, worth this price point. Chicken salad sandwiches are often one of of the cheaper things on the menu at most places. Here it's the same price as many premium sandwiches and I think it's just not a dish that can be its own star of the menu at a premium price. read more

I'm struggling with this review a bit. I'm not giving it 5 stars although nothing negative happened. I just don't feel that anything about the experience merits beyond 3. It's a cute place. Of course it's all about cute salads that you likely have had at some time in your life whether at a potluck or your grandmother made for summer lunch. I tried the lemon basil chicken salad and broccoli salad. My friend had an egg salad sandwich and grape salad. Although they were both tasty we weren't blown away with what we got for $9 each. The portions were about 1/2 cup; which is a reasonable portion but at the price I can't see this place making it for an extended time. It's a walk up and order and we'll bring it to your table place. If you really like these types of salads and don't want to "Google" recipes then you'll like it. However, I just as soon spend my $10 on something I'm not likely to make at home. Lastly, it's not a spot that I can see me getting my husband to go to without following up with a 5 Guys burger up the street. It's good but just not a favorite spot. read more

I was lucky enough to come in during the friends and family soft open. I am not a friend or family but was welcomed. I ordered the Chick which was a scoop or sandwich along with a side and drink. I ordered the Fancy Nancy on a croissant along with grape salad. When it was delivered I realized I also received a dill pickle and a cookie. If I had only gotten the grape salad and cookie it would have been an awesome meal. Both were excellent. The chicken salad was good, but the Fancy Nancy was to have pecans and grapes. I only had 1 grape in chicken salad, which was disappointing. The flavor was good though, not heavy on the mayo. I was surprised that with all the "executives" there, none of them asked about my meal or anyone else's. I hope this isn't a preview of what will happen when it opens on Jan 9th.
