Sassy Scotty Chicken Salad BLT on Toasted White Bread, Fresh Fruit Cup, Quartered Pickle Spear, Small Round Buttercream Cookie
    Hyoun K.

My guilty conscience finally got to me. After eating unhealthy for the past few days, I decided to eat something lighter. Today's destination took me to Chicken Salad Chick. Honestly the reason that brought me here was the outdoor patio (although it's just two tables). The weather today is gorgeous and mild, so why not eat outside? I've been here many times before, but that was before I put much effort in being a Yelper. I think subconsciously, girls and chicken salad go together like white on rice. After all, look at Chicken Salad Chick's story: it's a woman owned restaurant and every chicken salad is named after a woman close to Stacy Brown (the founder). So the clientele here is mostly women here. I didn't see but one other guy here out of what, 20 or so women? But who says a guy can't enjoy a good chicken salad? I opted for a Chicken Salad BLT VS a regular sandwich. FYI, the BLT is exactly the same as the regular sandwich. Both come with lettuce and tomato (with your choice of white, wheatberry, or croissant) except you get slices of bacon for 50 cents more. Unless you're pork intolerant, Muslim, or just don't like bacon, bacon is good on anything. It comes with another scoop of chicken salad in a plate, a side, or a cup of soup. You can make it a trio (another choice of the above items) for an additional cost of 2$ more. I chose the Sassy Scotty as my accompanying chicken salad on my BLT and got a side of fresh fruit. The entrees come with a dill pickle spear and a tiny prepackaged small round buttercream frosted cookie. The Sassy Scotty is named after the founder's childhood best friend. It's described as a chicken salad with a "zesty blend of ranch, bacon, & cheddar cheese." The draw here was the bacon on bacon (BLT). Served on toasted white bread, it was a as good as you would expect. Creamy, salty, bacon-y. The bread was perfectly toasted and the veggies were fresh. My only complaint is that a "scoop" (which is what they measure as your chicken salad portion) is only 4 ounces. When put on a sandwich, it becomes a thin layer as it's spread over the surface area of your bread slice. 4 ounces isn't a lot and I would personally prefer more. I mean when I've made any kind of meat salad (chicken or tuna salad) at home, I pile it on so high, it's falling out of my sandwich as I'm eating it. Like a sloppy Joe. But hey, it's a business and they have to make money. Maybe they'll do 6 ounces one day or better yet, 8 ounces. One can only dream. The fresh fruit, which is just a fruit cup, is the best fruit cup I've ever had. I'm speaking strictly from the fact that every other restaurant that advertises a fruit cup on the menu is really just serving cantaloupe chunks with a sprinkling of other fruits. Cantaloupe fruit cups are the WORST (so are mandarin orange fruit cups... I'm looking at you Chick-fil-A). So if you can't tell, I hate cantaloupe. CSC's fruit cup is a nice serving of fruits that go well together: strawberries, blueberries, and white (green) and red grapes. Fresh and tart, the only thing that is missing IMO is fresh pineapple. The tiny buttercream cookie was really good despite it being prepackaged. Soft and sugary, it hit the sweet tooth spot just fine. You can get a bigger cookie up at the counter (along with other sweet baked goods). Overall CSC is a good spot for those that love chicken salad. If you don't like chicken salad, there's unfortunately not many other options for you. My only complaint is that 4 oz is too small of a scoop for the price you pay. But still, I'll continue to eat here.

This was our first chicken salad chick visit and I really enjoyed our meal. Staff was friendly and helped us figure out our menu options. Although the soup was hot and delicious, I think next time I will opt for another scoop instead of a soup :)

I ordered the sassy Scotty and broccoli bowl.. very savory and fulfilling. Service was fast and huge bites of flavor in every bite. Also for those who work out they have perfect sized portions and plenty of selection.

I'm honestly addicted to this place. I can't say enough good things about it. I always go for the BLT with Kickin Kay Lyn on toasted white bread and a loaded baked potato soup. The chicken salad is so flavorful and the bread... Perfectly toasted on the out wide and so soft on the inside. The potato soup is as good or better than any restaurant around town. Do not hesitate to give this place a try, you just might get hooked too!

Classic Carol Chicken Salad Sandwich with a side of their Broccoli salad

My fiancé and I were driving around trying to think of something to eat but wasn't like your typical spot to go. We stumbled across the Chicken Salad Chick in Hendersonville and figured we give it a try. If you've never ordered from here before I would recommend taking a look at the to-go menu before hopping in line cause they have a lot of different options. I ordered the Classic Carol Chicken Salad sandwich with lettuce and tomato with a side of their broccoli salad. My fiancé also got the Classic Carol Chicken Salad Sandwich on white bread without the lettuce and tomato and a scoop of the Olivia's Old South Chicken Salad on the side. Once we ordered we found a seat and waited for our food to be brought over to us. The place is really cute, it feels quite homey and I like how bright it was in there. You could tell how fresh everything was made and prepared. I must say they really do make quite a delicious chicken salad. All the orders come with a cute little cookie too. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the different options on the menu which made ordering a little easier. It was quite a lovely lunch and I look forward to going back. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I would say their sides (if it is not a scoop of chicken salad) should be slightly bigger and while the cookie was a nice gesture I wasn't a huge fan of it.

Just a fun, feminine place to grab the hltumate chicken salad

This place is absolutely adorable. Great chicken salad with a fun, feminine feel. The ultimate, casual lady's lunch spot! Great service and spotlessly clean.

The food itself was excellent. They offer great Southern favorites like shrimp & grits and fried chicken, but I went with the fried boneless pork chop. It was perfectly crunchy, full of flavor, and topped with a generous amount of delicious country gravy. Portions are no joke -- I only made it through half before I was stuffed. I did save just enough room to try the cherry pie, and I'm so glad I did. It was fantastic. I can't say enough great things about Local Joe's. Hot Chickenus Supremus…read more I make it a point to try and visit at least one Hot Chicken place whenever I'm in the Nashville area. On a recent visit to the area I decided to hit up one of the places I had on my list for a while, Moore's Spicy Fried Chicken in Hendersonville. Moor's has been around for years and many a Hot Chicken Fan has visited this place. Moore serves up freshly made Fried, Hot, Spicy and Mild Chicken as well as Smoked Brisket and some other favourites. During my visit to Moore's iI just happened to be served by one of the owners/founders of Moore's. We had a great conversation talking about Hot Chicken, its history, and places that have come and gone. To keep things simple since it was lunch, I ordered a breast with medium spice and crinkle fries. My chicken was made from scratch and it took about 20 minutes for the whole process. When I received my chicken it was HOT, juicy, tender and fresh and with the perfect amount of crispiness. Even though In ordered my chicken mild, I was still wiping sweat off my face while I ate my meal. it was a very good Hot Chicken meal and one of the best I've had in a while. There was a rumor we were supposed to get a Martin's but that never came to fruition. Luckily we now have an Edley's, but that's over in Gallatin. When Jim 'N Nick's was announced, I was excited because although it's not "local", it was my 2nd barbecue experience when I first moved to Tennessee back in 2009. I like everything about Jim 'N Nick's, especially those killer, unlimited cheese biscuits that are like crack when you dine in. When I walked through the doors for the first time, something seemed different... I couldn't put my finger on it until I realized they morphed this restaurant into a fast casual style vs at actual sit down with a server. To be honest, most other barbecue restaurants follow this design around here and I prefer it for barbecue. You order once at the counter and get your own refills. They do have a bar here and a pretty efficient drive-thru, but I dined in with my kids that night. My daughter got the pulled pork sandwich kid's meal with a baked potato and my son got chicken tenders and mac 'n cheese. I usually get ribs but seeing how I ate barbecue earlier that day, I just got a 1 piece catfish plate with collard greens and a side salad... I know I know, kind of blasphemous but I vouch to return next time and try actual barbecue. I did order an appetizer of deviled eggs though. The salad was good (I mean it's a salad but it wasn't wilty, so that's all that matters.) The collard greens were tasty and not too bitter. The deviled eggs were fantastic, delicious and creamy with a slight sweetness to it. My catfish was excellently fried with a good base corn meal seasoning and the tartar sauce was icing on the cake. However I made the mistake of ordering 1 filet. The cashier told me they were big but they were NOT. It was a chicken tenderloin sized filet, which left me hungry that night. For the record, just pat a couple bucks more and get 2 filets. Hopefully they will be bigger than what I got....my kids let me have a bite or 2 of their food and I liked the pulled pork and the chicken tenders. The chicken tender was juicy and not at all dry (an indication of freshness). Overall I will come back. I have had their actual barbecue before and I know it's good. Everything was great, even down to the service. A great new restaurant in Hendersonville.
