Let me start by saying STORMS in burnet IS THE BOMB! I have experienced almost all Austin has to offer as far as local burger joints, fast food garbage, as well as food truck gems. I've passed by storms hundreds of times while visiting my extended family in Burnet and every single time i cruised by the burger establishment always wondering (aside from wondering why their sign resembles thunderclouds sub's sign) if storms was any good. after several years of driving by, unsure, i finally stopped. This place was so so. The food seemed like a bunch of pre-packaged stuff. The French fries were all bubbly and had an after taste. If your hungry and nothing else is open, go here. Inside dining area is way outdated. read more

Had been to the other locations and had good service and food. This location had neither. It took 45 min to get the food at the dive up. They forgot the desert which we realized and we were back in the road. Recommend going to the other locations. read more

The food was great! The tea is sweet, the fries are fresh, and the sourdough bun on my sandwich was delicious! The girl working the front counter was super nice and helpful. Fun place to stop in! I also got a super cute storms t-shirt. read more

After a late night we decided to forgo dinner at home and try out Storms. It was our first visit since moving into town. We were thoroughly impressed. My husband and I both got the Storms Special and seriously folks, the burger was amazing. The fries were also delicious. I was a little disappointed that there weren't more fries, however the size of the burger well made up for it. My husband ordered the spicy curly fries, and while there wasn't anything wrong with them he did say that next time he will get the regular ones instead of paying the extra (why pay extra when the regular ones are as good as they are?). The crushed ice with the soda is always a plus. Also, our cashier was super nice and helpful when trying to decide what to order. We will definitely be going back! read more

This is the worst hamburger I have ever had. If you like all bread and no meat burgers, this is the place for you. Extremely thin patty, with a large bun. Storms, where's the beef? Missing, and it doesn't taste like a fresh, hand patted burger either. I am not sure why some people put good reviews up on this place. Nasty greasy burgers. Grease soaks into the bun. Limp french fries. Drinks were watered down. Would skip this place for anything but a Taco Bell. read more

I ordered fries, a large sweet tea & cheese sticks. I ordered at 6:10 & left at 6:35 without ever receiving any food. When I called to voice my complaint to the manager, I informed her 25 minutes was a long time to wait without receiving any food she made up an excuse that he had just came out there. I informed her that no matter 25 minutes was a long time to wait for fries & cheese sticks. She just said I understand & hung up with me. read more

We have been eating at Storm's for many, many years three different locations. Today after church we visited the Burntet location, there were eight of us today, between 12;30 & !;00, one of our burgers was so salty it could not be eaten, you could visably see the salt, the young lady at the counter had been busing tables, and saw my husband throw most of his burger away, she asked if something was wrong with it when he went passed to get more to drink, he told her she might tell who ever was cooking to go easy of the salt, his couldn't be eaten, she turned around and told someone and very loudly he heard I DON'T CARE! We have never been treated like this, or gotten food we couldn't eat, but there is usually and adult around instead of children, so this may be the problem. At any rate if it continues it will be a shame, it used to be a great family place. read more

After a thorough review of the area for personal reasons, it was my wife's idea to stop here on our tour of the town. We ordered the 'Storm's Special,' which by itself reminded me of a hamburger drive-in I frequented up north as a teenager. Yeah, the patties are thin, but nevertheless, a treasured memory. We enjoyed the fries, which you could tell were hand-cut and as a previous post mentioned, not overly seasoned, but then, I can't have that much salt anyway. It was nice to be able to dine in, which obviously gave it a 'home-town' feel. I might be partial to a Texas tradition, though, of which there is also a location in Burnet. Hint: I was told by one of the employees that Storm's Burnet's location is better than Lampasas. Just sayin'. read more

Best crisp tater tots and burgers, (burgers second only to Culver's which are not in this area). Clean; can order from car or from a covered deck. Yum! Sort of like a Sonic only much better tasting food read more

I've been here a few times and have never received good service or good food. The servers roll their eyes and are rude to the customers over the speaker. They do offer free refills so once I ran inside to get a refill and then came out to car to order, and they charged me for a whole other drink and then got my order wrong. They told me I was being sneaky. I go there for just fountain drinks sometimes and I'm sorry but I don't tip on a $2 order. They always linger there expectantly and it makes me so uncomfortable. worst hamburger i ever had i ordered the 1/2 ponder with fries the patties where so over cooked that you could used them for spare tires!!! This was the second time and last time I will eat at this horrible place.If the cook can not cook a hamburger patties they should get another job. Seriously how hard is it to cook a hamburger?? Storms was a place my boyfriend has been dying to take me as a throw back to the days he was on the road out to camp Longhorn. This juicy griddle cooked burger and curly fries hit the spot, and the institution that is Storms did not disappoint. Yes this is somewhat of a hole in the wall, but think Diner's Drive Ins and Dives. Topped off with a strawberry shake with a waffle cone on top and a fried lemon pie which was DELICIOUS. The real shining star of this place was actually the saturday afternoon shift of young people who served us. Not only were they incredibly sweet but the young man at the front gave us the most enthusiastic recommendation which I always love. He made our day along with the other hard working young adults who did not resemble the entitled millennials that we encounter in the city in the least. Refreshing ice cream, and refreshing young staff. Thanks Guys you made our day. read more
