Excellent choice for burgers made fresh and innovative. I had the bacon-guacamole cheeseburger which was plentiful and cooked medium well. While I do t recommend everything on the burger as I would significantly cut back the onions. Fries were hot, thick, and well seasoned. Good place after golfing. read more

Amazing food, especially the Llano Hot Monroe and the fried pickles! One of the best chicken sandwiches we've ever had in our life....beautifully seasoned.....sensationally crunchy batter.....and cooked perfectly! We're incredibly critical of chicken at restaurants and we were skeptical but whoa were we proved wrong! Did not regret one bite of that meal! After exploring the nearby park, we stopped for lunch. We arrived just in time as the lunch crowd poured in after we left. However, we were able to sit right away. The waitress wiped our table down and we were able to place our order pretty fast. I was happy to find they had gluten-free buns and the tatertots were gluten-free too. The food tasted really good and we enjoyed our lunch here. We'd come back. As noted parking is a bit hard with small lots around but it is next to several businesses. read more

It has been awhile since I stopped at burger Bar. Today I stoped and had the lunch Chicken Fried steak Special, and it was as good as I remembered it too be. Came with 3 sides and all were just like your mama fixed them. Potato soup which was one of the choices was soooo good felt like forget the CFS and getting a big bowl. Since the old building was tore down and replaced I worried it would just not be the same, glad I was wrong . Saw some hamburgers exit the kitchen that looked really good. Will be making this a regular stop again on the way through town. All the staff there is super friendly and really take care of the customers. Not ducking under the ceiling beams anymore was missed for the old times, but new building is very nice. read more

This place was incredible! We don't say that lightly as our family members own a well established restaurant. The food was exceptional (wife and son had the Elvis burger, and my other son and I had the catfish). All were delicious and delivered in a timely manner. I consider myself a burger aficionado and ate here for the first time yesterday. I eat my burgers plain, only have cheese on it, to enjoy the flavor of the meat. These burgers must have been one third pound each and the double burger was too much for me, but I managed to eat it. It was more than a half pound of meat, juicy and flavorful. Very high quality meat and the service was great. I hope they don't change anything. I will be driving from Horseshoe Bay for my burgers more often now that there is a good reason to go. These are the only burger in Central TX that are actually better than Dan's in Austin. read more

We've eaten here twice since they rebuilt. The food is well prepared and of high quality. We have had the fried chicken, shrimp basket, and the GTO burger. The service is acceptable. But dang it, the place is pricey, even taking the current economy and food quality into account. The GTO burger (smothered in tasty stuff) is $13.50 and does not even come with chips. An order of fries, although well prepared, was $4 for what I consider a small serving, about like a small serving at a hamburger joint. A basic cheeseburger is $9 and the others are $12 and up. You're talking at least $13 for a burger and fries. Tea and soft drinks approach $3. I've begun to just order water with the crazy prices of tea, which I have seen as high as $4 at other places. Who knows what is a fair eating-out price these days? Restaurants seem to be taking advantage of that mystery. This is the second time lately when I've seen $4 sides as an add-on to a burger that came with no side or just chips. read more

Okay, keeping in perspective that this is a small cafe in a small town we were very happy with our experience here. Granted, we arrived after the usual lunch rush, but we found a table right away. Here are the positives with this place: Good food like Mama used to make (but we'll have to try the burgers next time), very friendly wait staff, and supremely clean bathrooms. P.S. This review is way too late but here it comes now. Better late than never. This place has the very best fried chicken I have ever eaten; even better than my last wife's. The fried catfish and fixin's are just as good. I have never eaten at a restaurant that tries so hard to please with how a person likes their food cooked. They try to accommodate you in every way. I usually rave about this place, because overall the food is great (but pricey!) and the service is just awesome. Burgers are to die for, but I finally tried the chicken fried steak for the first time and was disappointed that the huge serving of CFS is almost all breading. By the time I got through the breading to the meat, the steak was about the size of my palm. I don't know how they do it, but they pack on two to three inches of thick breading around the edge of the steak to make it appear enormous, but it's just not. Great if you like just breading and carbs at a premium price. Avoid the CFS and you'll find everything else to be awesome. read more
