When my grandmother was in transition, she displayed the following symptoms which included an inability to eat, inability to move, inability to take medication, inability to speak, and inability to open her eyes. She was on her deathbed which was provided by Hospice. Somebody named Donna stated to me "Your grandmother is not in transition, and therefore you are not allowed to spend the night with your grandmother." At 2:20AM that very night, my grandmother passed away. HarborChase does not adhere to what they communicate to their members. This is a place of dishonesty.

It was hard to have her move out of our home, but Sunrise couldn't have been more wonderful to her. It offered her a nice social life, my Mom was always the life of the party! She enjoyed her friends and finally engaged in a sport, Balloon Volleyball (I think the first sport activity she ever did as an adult). My Mom loved to eat out in restaurants and the dining room was run like a restaurant with a multitude of items to order. The food is good and they were accommodating with special requests. The units are home-like, and residents can use the kitchen for baking cookies or whatever strikes their fancy. Cordia is a wonderful place!…read more Our culture is such that mothers expect to remain in the house of one of their daughters until their death, however my house has stairs and is too dangerous for my mom. She was resistant to being anywhere but with family so moving her to Cordia produced a lot of anxiety for her. Thankfully, the wonderful staff at Cordia - from the lobby workers to the maintenance workers to the amazing dining room staff - all worked their magic to make her feel treasured and safe. Personally, I see that the staff at Cordia are very satisfied working with the senior residents there. I engage in conversations with them and am grateful for their kindness and respect for the residents and for each other. Cordia has a wonderful line-up of daily activities and they also have special activities for holidays. I'm super pleased to see my mom engaging in different activities that she never had done before Cordia. For example, I used to try to have her do chair workouts with me but she had always refused. Now at Cordia, she's down in the workout room at least 3 times a week!!! I think Cordia has given her new life! She was always very anxious about food owing to issues with onions and other spices, but has had no problems at all since at Cordia. She loves their food! I'm very, very pleased with Cordia. The facility is very clean, the rooms are nice and roomy and we felt peace of mind that she was safe and well cared for which was priceless! She had Alzheimer's and was treated with care and respect. The staff was kind to the whole family and the volunteers treated us like family and were very dedicated to taking care of residents. We became very close to many of the staff and will be forever grateful to them. We visited multiple times/week and made a point of developing a relationship with staff and volunteers and letting them know how grateful we were and that we understood how hard they worked to care for residents. It's back breaking work, requires tireless patience and caring for patients that sometimes can be combative and even aggressive. Repeatedly, I would hear and see aides, nurses, and volunteers respond to this lovingly with understanding and patience. As we would acknowledge their efforts - like anyone - they appreciated that we recognized the commitment it takes to do this type of work and would respond "I love what I do." It showed! They put their heart, mind and body into their work. Letting them know that we appreciated them was easy for us and meant a lot to them. It goes a long way no matter what facility you place your loved one in. I can't recommend Tabor Hills enough. It gave us comfort and peace of mind during a very painful time in our family.
