Was looking for a great (or at least good) experience at the Stottsville Inn but it was lacking on several levels. We should have cut our losses when it took quite a while to receive our drinks. On the positive side, once we were served, we weee pleased with what we had ordered. The Garden Party cocktail was refreshing and smooth. We didn't see any food for 1.5 hours! When we asked if they could please bring our salads, we finally had something to nibble on. Happy with the salad taste, portion size, and presentation. Next they brought one of our entree salads (roasted beet with crab cake) and then a side order of risotto when we had instead ordered the risotto entree. Both the beet salad and the risotto tasted great but the long wait really took away from what could have been a really nice meal. Somehow one of our other entrees (chicken Marsala) was never placed with the kitchen so that dish (which again was flavorful, paired with fresh herbs) trailed by 20 minutes. Such a shame that ridiculously slow service really detracted from otherwise nicely prepared food. Just can't give higher than 2 stars when you don't see anything out of kitchen for 1.5!hours and the pacing of food is so wacky. read more

Food at the Inn was awful. I ordered the prime rib on Father's Day. Requested medium well, and I specifically told the waitress do not cook it less than that. It came out raw..She took it back and by the time it came back out my husband was finished his dinner. The meat was tough like shoe leather on part and rare on the other side. This was a horrible Father's Day dinner. Don't serve prime rib if you don't have a clue how to cook it. No manager came over and I'm guessing there was no manager on duty. I haven't been here for a long time and decided to give it a try! The food is not enjoyable, and the menu is not appealing or a WOW! Lots of black charred items. Caesar salads were disappointing. We started with the non-non crispy chicken wings with soggy skin and ugly black brussels sprouts! Deserts were very good and so was the service. We went to the Stottsville Inn on a Friday night and sat on the patio. We hadn't been there in over ten years! The patio chairs are NOT comfortable, but the space is nice. The first thing I noticed was the ambience. The dining room where they had live music was bright, not dark like a majority of restaurants. Different, but not necessarily a negative. The service was above average as we were given water and utensils within a few moments of being seated. Our server came over shortly after that and was pleasant and professional. Finally, we ordered pizza, it was basically a full size, which was larger than we expected. It was above average and my wife loved the flourless chocolate cake. Overall, a very good experience. Great little Inn. Me and my childhood chum were in town for the weekend and loved every little thing about this entire area. Slow paced & beautiful country. The Inn is quaint, home feel, comfort. This is a very old building. The fact they had a wood burning grill in their kitchen totally freaked me out. I could smell a STRONG smoke smell ony 3rd story room. A fire in this place would be a giant disaster. I hesitate to say unsafe, but that's the vibe I got. I felt super uneasy about the smoke and grill. It was 9:02pm and we were in the parking lot trying to arrive. We couldn't figure out where to enter. No signs that indicate a restaurant or hotel entrance. No lights, pitch dark. Literally, as we were pulling in, we receive a phone call stating they were holding my room(rushing me, so they could close). I explained to her, we couldn't see where to park and asked where entrance was. Then she gave a very weird vibe when we walked in. HORRIBLE! When the food finally did arrive, it was not well received. Many complained it was dry or just below average. It took 2 1/2 hours for lunch, and no thanks, no one wanted to stay a moment longer for dessert. Went for Sunday brunch with a friend and was so disappointed! The hostess apologized for "mumbling" while looking down and grabbing menus and asking if we wanted to be seated in the bar. I asked the server what a BLT Benedict was. She hesitated and then gave me a description. When it was delivered, it was nothing like described. We decided to visit this restaurant as a last minute family decision. We were happy we did. This location was easy to find, clean, and service was professional. They had the fireplace going and someone to maintain the insert of logs. The food and alcoholic beverages was perfect. We had calamari for an appetizer, then we both had the chicken marsala. It was not served over pasta but rather with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and was delicious. The bar area was crowded when we arrived at 8 on a Saturday, but had mostly cleared out when we finished. It has been a while. My last experience with the food here was not good, but i decided to give them another chance. So I stopped in for a quick dinner. The ambiance is nice in the new room - wide open and rustic. I ordered chicken wings, fries, and a draft beer. The wings and fries took forever while I was seeing those around me who arrived after me get their drinks, then their food before me. Both the wings and fries were borderline cold when they were served, but so was the beer, so that was at least good. The wings were very dry and tough, like burnt cardboard to eat, and the fries were OK - better if they were hot. The server was inattentive and seemed confused. Didn't check for drink refills or how things were going - I had to get the server's attention for refills.. I tried one last time for redemption with their $10 cake with a scoop of ice cream. After waiting 15 minutes for the cake, the server stopped by and asked me if I needed anything else. Wow! One star for Stottsville Inn. For the combination of nice ambiance and one cold beer. And that's generous. While I was looking at my cold dinner, I got a sense that the full parking lot was attributed primarily to bar patrons enjoying the vast selection of beers and other libations because it certainly isn't the food they are enjoying.. The Inn Cheesesteak comes on a seeded roll. It is braised short rib, horseradish sauce and cheddar cheese. Aside from a major roll breakout I think this roll is too average for this cheesesteak. The braised short rib was plentiful, juicy and flavorful. The horseradish sauce added great flavor. The cheddar was almost non-existent. Had Sunday brunch here with a few friends after a local yoga class. Sunday mornings you can order from a separate brunch menu or the full menu other than from the large plates section. We were seated in a very spacious side room with lots of windows and natural light. Our server was nice but the overall service was a little on the slow side. Once we ordered, it took a while for our food to come out and then once it came out for three of us, there was still one more person who's food took a little longer, and it was French toast. Out of all of our orders, French toast IMO would have been the easiest to get out to the table. I ordered the chicken and waffles from the brunch menu. The waffles were pretty good. 1 waffle broken into 4 separate sections. Not to soft and not burnt, so the goldilocks of restaurant waffles. The chicken was a crispy breast sliced into 5 pieces and the dish came with butter, syrup, Nashville hot sauce and ranch. Nice chicken to waffle bite ratio. My other friends got a burger, which she said was good but she was hoping to get American on her burger and that wasn't a cheese option, French Toast, and I had a friend who got a jar of pickles from their apps and mac and cheese. She was happy with the mac and cheese but was disappointed with the jar of pickles as she felt that all of the veggies in the jar were too hard, which to us seemed like they hadn't been pickled long enough. read more

3 parts: hotel, dinner, brunch. The Stottsville Inn is a beautiful white building in scenic Chester County, PA. The entire hotel has been extensively remodeled to restore the original grandeur. Dark wood, antique furniture (fully functional) and large rugs. Many pictures are portraits of historical American figures. With some colorful exceptions. Yet it has all the modern amenities you expect. I have a sink outside the bathroom. Good water pressure on the third floor. No elevator but a young man took good care of me and carried my bag up. An elegant marriage of old and new. And then I went to the restaurant! I only had the special appetizers and dessert. And 2 of the 1858 cocktails (the opening date of The Stottsville Inn). So yes I loved that drink. I gave a $100 bill for the $71 dollar check because it is Halloween and the waiter had a double costume, makeup under his mask--and gloves! Oh the food. Tremendous. Subtle, nuanced, satisfying. I ate too much. That is all the good things I can say about being happy and satisfied with the food and drinks. Oh and the owner is picky about details. You won't find soap stains on the knives, they are clear and clean. So you have all the recommendations I can give without tell you how attractive the rest of the wait staff is. I just hope you enjoy the experience as much as I have I went forest bathing in the Natural Lands' Sadsbury Woods Preserve is just 10 minutes away. Then brunch. Decent food.....As long as you are patient and don't mind SLOW service. We must have sat there for 5 min before we were even greeted or given waters/menus. Being only one of two parties sitting there, it wasn't that they were busy, just very slow. Maybe the bartender was new or just not used to tending bar but she lacking any sort hustle or ability to multitask in a way that bartenders normally do. We recently enjoyed dinner with friends here and overall our experience was good. Nice place, off street parking was acceptable and our server was very polite and nice. However, she was all over the place, obviously overwhelmed, and service was a notch below our reasonable expectations. The food was good but not great, let alone excellent. My wife and I agreed that the salad was subpar, the beef stroganoff was tasty but very soupy and using a spoon instead of a fork would have been much easier. There were no complaints or problems with the rest of our meals . Two things to note: First, the dining room was extremely loud and it was very difficult to hear the other parties at my table. Second, their prices are very high and our tab for dinner was more than $150 including tip for four people. FYI, two had a single glass of wine and two of us had nothing while only two desserts were ordered. We eat out a lot and I thought that for one small dinner salad, a burger, crab cake and two stroganoff meals plus the aforementioned wine and dessert this was pricey, especially in a casual environment. Beautiful restaurant at a gorgeous area in Chester County! I just had a awesome lunch there on the back patio of the restaurant. Everything we ordered was perfect. We started with the fried pickles which were nice and crispy with a delicious dipping sauce. For our meals my fiancé had the short rib cheesesteak which she raves about. Nice seeded roll with very tender short rib. I had the burger which was amazing. Perfect crispy bacon and the burger patty just melts in your mouth. The building is awesome. Very old school from the 1800s. It is clean and spacious with a awesome bar with plenty of beers on tap. Also the back patio is a must on a nice day. The employees here are what makes this place incredible! Every time we come here they always have a friendly and hard working staff, and on multiple occasions the owner was there and came to our table to talk with us. He really cares about his customers and his restaurant. The food is also delicious! The broccoli rob grinder is mouth watering good and when I was here last the special was lobster Mac N Cheese!! If you have a food allergy of any type or just want to modify any of the dishes they are so accomidating and will do it with out question. My daughter and I stopped in for our first visit on Sat, Sept 16th. There was a funeral luncheon going on and staff was scarce. We were the only diners in the restaurant. Our waitress arrived about 5 minutes after we were seated. She kept disappearing, and it took forever to get our lunch- a pizza and a salad. My daughter really liked her pizza. I just returned from your "Happy Hour" / Trivia night. Your hours for happy hour are 4-6 pm. I entered the restaurant at 5 pm and was seated in your restaurant so I could participate in the trivia contest that stared at 6 pm. When we asked for the happy hour menu so we could order food and drinks we were informed that this is only for customers in their "bar" area. When we asked to be moved we were told there was no room in the bar. We asked if we could order from the happy hour menu because the bar was full we were told "no". I did express my displeasure, rather rudely, (I do apologize) that I could order the same food and drinks at the full price rather than the happy hour price because they can't accommodate their clientele. It is NOT advertised that you have to get there early to get a seat or that this is only for the bar. Also, don't you think if you have an unhappy customer your manager would at least approach your table and try to appease you? As a frequent customer in the past, this will probably be my last time at this establishment. This is a hidden gem in the Community. It's about 2 miles from our house and we are happy we gave it a try. It's an old building which hosts an Inn along with a cozy restaurant. They just added an additional dining room with a stage and live music on some evenings. The ambience is better than expected when walking on. The decor is simple, off white walls and mish mash artwork. The patio area is beautifully lit with hanging warm white lights! We look forward to enjoying a meal out there in the summer. We have eaten here about 4 times since moving to the area in June. We did not try it until October and we are kicking ourselves for waiting. It's a scratch kitchen so they edit just about any dish to your liking. For appetizers, we enjoy the sautéed mushrooms. My favorite dish is the Mushroom Primavera. Wide pappardelle noodles with mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus. It's delicious! Also dairy free and vegetarian, which is how I eat most of the time. We enjoyed the Jar of Pickles. The pickled veggies on the bottom are a treat. We have tried their daily specials as well, such as the mussels and the scallops. They also had a potato soup recently that was phenomenal! We also love their made in house desserts. Prices are reasonable too. The only criticism I have is that mushroom bruschetta was disappointed. We found it dry and lacking flavor. Also I always wish I had some bread to go with the sautéed mushrooms and polenta. I highly recommend giving the Stottsville a chance. This being so close to us will be a place we will visit many times and take out of town guests too for sure!! read more

Decent food but terrible service. Reservations for 10 at 6:00 pm. 2.5 hours later, got appetizers and 2 round of drinks. Waiter was inexperienced and did not check Up on us. Order entrees at 6:56 and as of 8:25pm, still no entrees served. No service. Waiter clearly forgot to put order in and then told us several times that our order would be out in a couple minutes. Never came. We left and paid the bill (less dinner). Short staffed. Not trained. I'm was embarrassed as I had family in from out of town. Ugh! Pizza it is! read more

Gem only 25 minutes from King of Prussia! My husband and I chose this location to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We cannot say enough good things about our meal! We started with cocktails and a wedge salad which were all amazing. My husband had a tequila beverage. I had a delicious blackberry martini. The food was even better. My husband had the salmon. I had sea bass which was a special. Then for dessert we shared a flourless chocolate cake and a London fog. We also had wine. They had 8 wines on tap - it made for an awesome ability to taste several. I cannot recommend this place more highly. So glad they are expanding the outdoor space. This restaurant was very poorly run. Food came out almost an hour after we ordered. The food was very hit or miss, poached eggs on the Benedicts were hard boiled and "smoked salmon" on Benedicts were salmon patties (definitely not smoked). Crab cake sandwich was okay and so was pizza, and chicken and waffles. Grilled cheese sandwich was way overcooked (sent back) and soup was room temperature (sent back). The staff needs extensive training and the leaking roof needs to be repaired (picture buckets catching water). Our plates sat on the table until after we left and we're not cleared despite asking our waiter. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

My wife volunteered to check it out... She returned and reported the hostess was friendly and the bathroom was clean. Our server, A J, was tops and the food was delicious.
