My family loves coming here every time we are in town. They love the staff, who are so so friendly with everyone (even the chef who will come out and chat every now and again). I especially love the menu and some of the great and unique dishes they make. My favorite is always the egg paninis but everyone loves the scrambles. Stowell's Cafe is my go-to place in Plymouth for brunch. I "go for the food and stay for the hugs!" The multi page menu takes quite a few minutes to choose from; which one of the luscious items from a cornucopia of delights do you crave?Whether you want to stay with the usuals of eggs over easy, or venture into "bene's" with a variety of veggies or meats, there's always something delicious to satisfy your palate. The wait staff is beyond friendly and solicitous and if there's something you don't see on the menu, they'll try to come up with a substitute to meet your needs. Breakfast with our family after our morning excursion to Manomet point for sunrise. The service was excellent and so friendly The food was also excellent. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. We had a party of 7 including a 4yr old and a baby, the employees and the local patrons were so nice to the kids. We felt right at home. This place is great. Not only is their corned beef hash the best I've EVER had, hands down, but the fact that when you get served your syrup for your waffles or pancakes, it comes warmed up! Now that is an awesome idea. I do that in my own home, but I've NEVER had that done in any restaurant I've ever been in. All the servers are super friendly too. I almost don't want to leave a glowing review because this place is a hidden gem and I want to keep it that way...! BUT, I must say: I absolutely love Stowell's. Their breakfast is great, their dinner is tasty, their desserts are fresh and delicious. Plus, they are the most reasonably priced restaurant that I've come across in a long time. We stopped here because it was quick and cheap and has good reviews. We were in a hurry so we ordered corn chowder and truffle parm fries. We tried one of the apple crisps that are packaged on the counter because the bakery is supposed to be good. Unfortunately all we could taste was flour and sugar. The few apple slices in the cake are so smooshed and irrelevant that you can't even taste them. Big thumbs down for the 'apple' crisp. The bathroom, someone painted over the window and no one ever cut through it so the windows dont open and the bathroom just stinks, foul. The chowder is decent, creamy and very thick, but seems like it has added sugar as well. I could only eat half the bowl. The fries are better than average. Soft but not undercooked, flavorful, good choice for a quick bite. Overall it's OK but that's it. Just OK. Take some better care of your bakery and lay off the sugar, ventilate your bathrooms and maybe you can earn your two stars back. read more

It was so good, I did have momentary lapses of understanding the drive was more important than licking my fingers. We use a great deal of Restaurant.com coupons when we dine out, whether it be lunch or dinner. We drove some 25 miles to go here on a wintery day. It was so worth it. Just delicious! He had the pulled pork Mac n Cheese and I had the Riley sandwich. Both so yummy. We had a side of onion rings that were to die for. Thin and crunchy and NOT GREASY! Some of the best we ever had! I've given this place two tries. I typically try for a third, but didn't/wont manage it for multiple reasons. I'm a huge fan of French dips. It's one of the few things you can usually find anywhere that can't be messed up. Both times I've gotten the dip here. My understanding of it is roast beef that's thinly sliced and done, on a hard bread with cheese of some variety. Add a side of Au jus and this is a hit. It nails the bread (I'm actually a fan of a softer bread so it doesn't cut my mouth up), the cheese, and actually tops with sautéed onions which are tasty. Where it gets hairy is the meat. Every time I've gotten it, the beef is pinker than I'm comfortable with. I'm also used to more done beef in my dip, but that's only what I'm used to so take that how you'd like. Taste wise, the sandwich is pretty good. I'm just not 100% on the beef. I saved half and heated it up the next day as leftover, and found the taste to be better on the second eating. Again, personal opinions. People are friendly here and service is quick. I'm sure they have other options that are great on the menu. Definitely a good place in Manomet to eat at. read more

I think I had been to their previous location in the past but it was unremarkable. Today I stopped at their new location which has been home to several places in the past. I was leery as it was 10am on a Saturday and the lot was sparsely filled. Good news was that I got a great parking spot As I entered I noticed that it had been remodeled since one of the previous restaurants and was in good shape I sat at the counter and was warmly greeted by a very lively waitress. She immediately got me coffee and menu. I got a basic ham and eggs. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the ham was a decent slice on a separate plate. The home fries which I was asked whether I wanted anything in them (think Waffle House!) were deep fried small cubes. They were plentiful and tasty. There was nothing wrong with them but I just prefer homemade grilled potatoes. Food was good, price was fair, coffee was decent and plentiful but the service was great read more

Excellent service. On Saturday at 1130am the kitchen switches from breakfast to lunch. I wasn't aware and wanted to order breakfast at 1145am, my server asked the cook if he could make me breakfast and he nicely obliged. Talk about value for your money. Thursday nights are $5.00 hamburger nights. The burgers are large and juicy, come with lettuce and tomato, cheese, bacon,peppers and onions can be added for 25 cents each. Bag of chips included. They've just completed renovations on a dining room. I've tried most of their sandwiches and I'm about to start on the reasonably priced dinners. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did 1/19/2018 We've become regulars at Stowells, but hadn't been there for the Friday Night $12.95 fish fry, UNTIL TONIGHT. Ugh. I so want to love your food as I Am less that .25 miles from you At my summer home. Breakfast is consistently fantastic. Dinner is a crap shoot at best. I ordered "prime" rib. There is 100% zero chance that this hunk of meat was graded prime by anyone other than Mr. Magoo. The fat content was absurd and I had to spit out a piece as I could not get through the fat. Texture of gum. My wife on a positive note got pulled pork Mac and cheese which she thought was great. My dad got a lobster roll which was "ok". First he did not expect it to be on a hamburger bun and second when considering price a competitor in the very close vicinity with better atmosphere blows them away. My Mon ordered chicken scampi which had no flavor to be described. Where was the garlic? My son ordered a plain cheese burger. For the $11 price tag, I would have expected better quality fries and a grind without bones and cartilage to chip teeth. You got 1/5 right. Currently we are now cooking dinner after spending $78 to not have to. Again breakfast is awesome. Stick to that if you need to. This was not good. read more
