My husband and I were looking for a Breakfast spot in the area to eat at before we visited the Mayflower/Plymouth Rock and saw this restaurant listed on Google. There was a wait, but thankfully it was under 10 minutes. Something that is different that I didn't realize right away is that you need to write your name down on the wait list pad when you walk in (so the waitress can call your name). I was waiting for 5 minutes before one of the waitresses asked if we "checked in". Once we were called, we got seated at a cute corner spot right by the window which was nice. They also had cute decor on the wall. Our waitress was Kailey and she was very friendly and bubbly! She made our experience absolutely wonderful! We tried the mimosas - my husband got the orange and I got the pineapple. It was good, but primarily ALL champagne with just a splash of pineapple juice. Most people would probably love this, however, I wish I had more pineapple flavoring in mine. On the way home from the Cape, we decided to visit Plymouth Rock. A late breakfast nearby sounded like a great idea. Water Street cafe is about 1/10 of a mile from the Rock. They serve lunch & dinner. The place was clean & bright. I opted for a grilled cheese served with chips & my husband got eggs & corned beef hash. Food was ok/good. However, perhaps because it is a tourist place, quite expensive. $3.95 for a cup of ok coffee. For the cost of the food, a little nicer ambience would have been nice. Service was so-so. There was another waitress bustling around. However our waitress was never around. Whether we wanted more coffee, to take our order, check up on us, or leave the bill. Probably won't be back, even though a very convenient location. read more

This was a very cute cafe near the tourist area of Plymouth Rock. The service was prompt and courteous. It was close to closing time but they were still very busy and happy to help. Service was average, edging towards slightly below. The food took awhile to arrive and when it did it was wrong, then the correct - plain, not blueberry - pancake arrived but also took some time. Their pancakes aren't the "fluffy, thick" variety so if you like that style these are decent. I like fluffy and so does my eating partner, she wasn't impressed. Today a 2 star, some days a 4, the only consistent thing about this place is the inconsistency in service and the meal. The 3 egg omlet was more like 1.5 eggs, the cheese wasn't even melted. It was obvious that it was thrown in last minute. Home fries were hard and not seasoned. The bacon came all stuck together and broke into tiny pieces when it was picked up. The service wasn't great but mostly today the food was bad. I really want to love it here but every time we eat here the food is different. Sometimes the home fries are seasoned and delicious, sometimes they taste like week old leftovers. Waitress was not very good, I ordered a coffee and my wife a tea, she brings over decaf tea, not ordered, never came around to refill.. We order 2 eggs homefries and grilled English muffins.. homefries seemed like they were from yesterday, English muffins were raw, my wife asked for butter, no shoe in the butter, she was too busy talking to the other three waitresses behind the counter. While the food I got was very good, it wasn't what I ordered. I asked for one egg, one English muffin, a side of bacon and a Diet Pepsi. When it came I thought there seemed to be a lot of egg on the plate and there were home fries which I definitely didn't ask for. And then when I got the bill I saw that they upsold me to a breakfast plate of two eggs that came with home fries. That combo cost $5 more than what I had actually ordered would have cost. Super conflicted about what to put for a star rating... I've been coming to this place for over 10 years and have absolutely loved the food and service here. It was a real treat to come here for breakfast in the past however today had absolute terrible service and it was embarrassing to bring my family from out of town here after I talked this place up. There needs to be a designated hostess because there was zero organization for seating. Writing your own name on the list should have been my first warning about what was about to go down. There wasn't strategic thinking with placing parties at the appropriate sized tables. They would place a party of 2 at a table for 6, making the table of 5 having to wait even longer when a table for 2 just needed to be cleaned off. We were a party of 3 at a table for 6 but before we even got seated let me layout what transpired before. When we finally received a text message (because there was no rhyme or reason to seating people) that a table was ready, we headed inside. No one was there to greet us or show us to a table so I went to the counter. When at the counter where there were at least 6 waitresses, not one would acknowledge me for at least 2 minutes. I understand being busy but at least have basic customer service skills and say "be right with you". Once someone finally acknowledged me I said I received the text message to which the reply back was "oh, your table is ready back there" and waved me away. Odd. When I went to the backroom where the waitress waved me to, there were no open tables. The only open table had dishes all over it. Remember I had a party of 3 for a table set up for 6. I stood and waited for someone to help us but every waitress continued to ignore our presence so finally my sister went back to the girl that rudely waved us away to address the situation to which she said there is a table back there for us. No there wasn't but she wanted to disagree with us. All I have to say is management needs to establish someone to take the lead or have a hostess. You have a bunch of kids working with no leadership present. The only thing that saved the experience was our waitress and the food. Which mind you, the poor waitress had the entire back section and you assigned 5 other waitresses in the front room which has the fewest amount of tables and seats. read more

A few weeks ago, I was walking in the gardens near the Water Street Cafe. It was very warm and humid and there were no benches in the shade. I needed to wait for my husband, who was having a procedure nearby and I just wanted a place to sit and to be less anxious. I wandered into the cafe for a light lunch and I was immediately welcomed, told to sit anywhere by a friendly waitress. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The relief from the heat was delightful as was the welcome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In answer to my question, she introduced herself as Kira and throughout the time I was there, she stopped by several times to check if I needed anything, assured me I could stay as long as I wished.
