I've been to Brewery Emperial a couple times now and have had great experiences. Both the food and beer are top notch. A highlight for me is the garlic Parmesan fries. They are so good! These are up there for my favorite fries in the city. The service is great. You are greeted upon entering. You can choose to sit wherever you like. There's a QR code on the tables for ordering and your food will be brought to you, (or you can choose to order from the staff I believe). Brewery Emperial has a bit of a hipster vibe I would say. I really like the layout of the space. There's an awesome outdoor seating area that's great for patio season. I look forward to returning!

I had 4 tasters & the spicy fish tacos. I would've LOVED a full beer but the "bartender" was on the phone most of the time I was here & said nothing to me after bringing me the tacos. Tacos need bigger pieces of fish & less purple cabbage, otherwise they weren't bad. Beer is good but would've love more. Only 8 customers in the place since I came in about an hour ago.

Brewery Emperial is such a fun brewery in the crossroads. It has a spacious patio that is kid friendly and has great laid back vibes. The food is really good too. I've had their burger, fries, wings and now I'm adding fried green beans to the list. They were delicious! I ordered a margarita and my husband had a beer, both good and the service was good. You have the option to order and pay online from a QR code which is convenient, but the servers are also around to take your order if you want.

Great place to hang out, just outside of downtown KC - in the crossroads/brewery district. I tried two beers from the menu and enjoyed both. The first was actually a beer and a shot - Todd's Combo. The pint of Biscuit and a shot of TODAMMIT wouldn't be my go to, but it was worth trying. I actually enjoyed the beer. The cinnamon schnappy shot I could've skipped. The beer had toasty notes... if you like pale ales, it is a good tasting beer. I also tried the URSA23, which is a stouty beer. It was great tasting and filling. 12 malts and 1/3 of the batch is aged in Tom's whiskey barrels. It was delicious. We took up seats at the bar. The bartender was nice and greeted us immediately. He took our orders and put some waters in front of us. As soon as we were near empty, he asked if we wanted more or something else. He was knowledgeable in guiding us to the beers on tap. Guests have the ability to order online, but why would you with competent friendly service like this? Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The biergarten is covered, and if you want to sit out front, you can do that too. Even games for the kiddos, if you bring them along. They have flat screens showing the Chief's game, and music in the back ground if you weren't interested in football.

Brewery Emperial in KC's bustling Crossroads District just proved you can deliver brew-pub magic in a to-go box. I grabbed the Jr. Smasher Burger with garlic-Parmesan fries, and, wow--flavor-bomb central! The smash-seared patty was cooked exactly to my medium-plus sweet spot, juicy without a hint of grease, tucked into a soft bun that held up all the way home. The fries deserve their own headline. You can taste that they start with real-deal potatoes--crisp edges, fluffy centers, finished with a punchy mix of roasted garlic and nutty Parmesan that clings to every bite (no sad shake-on powder here). Fresh ingredients are clearly standard practice; everything still tasted farm-stand vibrant after the drive. Service was on point, too. The curbside pick-up station was organized, my order was ready right on time, and the team made sure sauces and napkins were in the bag--small touches that matter. Because I haven't actually stepped inside yet, I'm holding one star in reserve, but if the interior vibe matches the food and hospitality, I can already see a five-star update coming. Bottom line: whether you're exploring Crossroads or just hunting a killer burger-and-fries fix, Brewery Emperial belongs on your short list. I'll be back soon to soak up the atmosphere--and maybe sample a pint or two straight from the source. See you again, Emperial!

I love this place. It's great in the summer with their cool, covered patio. But we came on a foggy and cold Christmas Eve. Inside was a haven for weary and thirsty travelers, cozy and comfortable. The beer is excellent. I had a flight of imperial stouts that I really should've spent longer drinking. They were quite good. The food was first rate, with plenty of vegetarian options available. Our server was festive and super friendly, which only added to the ambience. I recommend highly.

Emperial had a great layout. It seemed very family friendly. Lots of games outside and areas for groups to play and hang. The beer was okay and the bar staff seemed a bit distracted. All in all it was a good place to rest a bit and cool off. I was there on an especially warm day so it was nice to sit on the cool and dank bar area.

We checked out Brewery Emperial in the winter, and after noticing their covered patio area, I realize we MUST come back in the summer time - it seems pretty great. They even have tetherball, which I haven't played since middle school, but I'd love to give it a go! I don't do a whole lot of drinking, but my friends said they loved the beer selection, and really enjoyed a flight of stouts. I got a pretzel, and it really was exactly what I was looking for - tasty, chewy, and so soft on the inside. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, there were some flat screens around if you wanted to catch the game. Our server helped us figure out how to make an order - just know there's an automatic 20% gratuity, which is fine, but something to note just so you don't accidentally tip twice. Overall, Emperial is a must-visit spot in the Crossroads brewery district. 5 out of 5 stars!

Great food, beer and love the outdoor area! They added tetherball which is awesome! I also love being able to bring the pups there. The only thing I don't like is how you have to place your own order on your phone and you have to pay through there as well. I definitely prefer to have a server you interact with that takes your order and checks on you. They just bring you your stuff and then they also automatically add on 20% tip on your bill. It just doesn't seem right to me especially since I felt like I did most of the work. Other than that small annoyance it's an awesome place.

Cute little place that offers inside and outside seating. We stopped to have some drinks and appetizers. Place is small and cramped, service was lacking a bit as they encourage you to order on their app only and not with servers. We tried guacamole dip and fries. Both were ok but not amazing. Enjoyed drinks. Fun place to hang out.

I really enjoyed our stop at Brewery Emperial. I loved the space and the service was great. I had the Biscuit beer and really enjoyed it. We shared the Parmesan fries, mini corn dogs and Bavarian pretzel. Everything tasted great. We are already planning on returning.

The server in a Wednesday costume was amazing last night. Very sweet and accommodating of my food allergies. The food was good. The pretzel was hot and soft. My coworker liked the green beans. The place is cute with all the owls.

    Amazing! Cheers!

During my recent visits, I repeatedly observed behavior from one of the bartenders that made the environment feel uncomfortable and unprofessional. This man has frequently crossed personal boundaries and generally came across as someone who was more interested in making female patrons uncomfortable than providing good service. Instead of feeling like a place where everyone could relax, the atmosphere felt like a boys' club where inappropriate behavior was tolerated. The biggest disappointment wasn't just the employee's conduct--it was the lack of action or acknowledgement by management that concerns are taken seriously. Instead of addressing complaints, they move to suppress reviews. When an establishment allows and enables behavior that makes customers feel uncomfortable or unsafe, it reflects on the business as a whole. I used to recommend Border Brewing without hesitation, but I can't anymore. There are plenty of breweries in Kansas City where everyone can enjoy themselves without worrying about being subjected to inappropriate comments or an unwelcoming atmosphere.

First of all, looking at my last review I realized that the Rad AF was the first IPA I really fell in love with and really changed the way I viewed IPAs in general - now they are my primary beer of choice which would have shocked 2019 Sarah to hear. The things I said in my last review still ring true as the beer at City Barrell anywhere you get it whether it's in the taproom or at the liquor store is pricey. The difference now is that everything everywhere is pricey and I maintain that their beers are still amongst the very best in town, so in short, it's honestly probably a slightly better value now than it was in 2019 when it's all said and done. Now onto the food. You're going to find bar-fare here and they do it really well. We had cheese curds and I had a sandwich and "fancy fries" all were delicious. Next time I'm going to do their appetizer platter and just enjoy all the bar food deliciousness. What put this into 5 star territory for me though was our server - she was so nice and welcoming - it was honestly just one of the best casual dining experiences I've had in a long time.

When you walk in you can choose if you'd like to sign up for a brewery tour - if you haven't done this it's well worth your time. I usually just head up to the taproom. In reality there are three different taproom places here. The second floor is the main space and where I find myself most often. They serve pretty great bar food and have a ton of taps to choose from. You'll find an array of Boulevard favorites and some experimental options which are fun to sample. They also usually have a free photobooth running and PLENTY of space. It's happened to me, but it's rare that it's so full you can't find a spot. They also have one of the best patios in KC IMO. The top floor is the rec deck which has games, and more space to hang out and enjoy a drink though a more limited bar. Downstairs if you navigate behind the gift shop you can find a more intimate bar where they deposit tour goers over the weekend. During the week they host trivia here and it's always a fun time.
