Don't feel safe here. This was my favorite place to get a haircut (since it is the cheapest place by far) until June 7, 2025. On that day, the person standing in front of me robbed it at gunpoint. At that time it was a "cash only" business. On July 12, I asked an employee if it was still a "cash only" business and she responded, "yes." They installed cameras after the robbery but the thief was wearing a mask, hood and glasses, so I don't know how cameras are going to help. I am using a different salon even though it costs more. read more

I felt compelled to write a review about Andréa who has been cutting my hair at this salon for the past almost 2 years. If you're looking for a fade/bald fade she is absolutely amazing. I look forward to going there every other week to get my hairs cut. The outdoor setting is pretty cool too!! The people watching is Highly recommend this salon and andréa. Walked by it a few times. Waited till the line was short. Walked in, 10 minutes later I was getting my hair cut. The haircut was great, high level just like the expensive place I go to in North Beach SF. Definitely worth your time and money $25 if you are on the island and need your hair out of your way. read more

Asked for a LOW skin fade for my son and got this hack job. Easily the Worst haircut he's ever received. She didn't even attempt to fade the back. The lady just started hacking away with clippers with no guard so I knew instantly it wasn't going to be good but where is the fade? Why did you start at the top of his head? To be fair there were 2 women working. A slender white lady who performed this "haircut" and then a younger, local looking girl. The local girl gave my other son a haircut and actually did a really good job. You guys need to get rid of that other woman before you lose more customers. read more

Needed a quick freshenin' clean up & a taper/fade during vacation, and I happened to be in the area - after a grocery run at nearby Times Supermarket. This barber shop is unique - open-air & right smack on the corner of Times. I had called beforehand to inquire pricing (it's cheap!) & if they could do a clean up in-between service cut, since I had just gotten a cut before coming to the island for vacation. I walked in one early Sunday morning, and I saw they had a clip board where one signs their name up to be on the list for the nice ladies that give those cuts. Apparently, one of the two ladies were busy - and I was assisted by Liz, who really did a good job at a "clean up" cut for my hair. Even though the shop is a small place, they did have some toys and books to entertain small children; in addition, to being in a 'cool' away from the heat - type of place, and I could really feel the "fresh" air from outdoors, simply because we were in the shade & it wasn't THAT hot at all, due to the fact that this was on a December morning. Having ample parking right in front of the shop & being in an open-air setting to feel the wonderful Maui breeze is an aspect that no other barber shop in the island could have! On the other hand, Liz wasn't too talkative or wanting to converse; rather, she focused on her craft & made sure that what she was doing, would suit me - as she had me facing the mirror during the haircut. She was really taking her time with me, and her small talk gave a friendly impression of her, her associates, and their shop - such a personable space for all! Highly recommended if you're ever in Maui, and in need of a cut during your vacay! Convenient location & you get to feel that Maui breeze once you're in the chair as they clip/shear away! read more

Located in an outdoor setting this is a convenient and friendly location and very kid friendly. You sign up on the clipboard and can go grocery shopping next door. The barbers are so friendly. Went here with my two boys for a quick trim. They were very good and made the kids feel comfortable. Costs range between $18-$22 for kids or adult cuts. read more

Dont get your hair cut from the girl with a tatoo sleeve on her right arm. She does not pay attention to what you ask for. I asked for an inch off this top and for about a quarter inch to be left on my sides. That way my hair would flop down and hang over. I ended up looking like the really messed up guy from goonies. Mr "hey you guys!" She butchered my hair and because I am an introvert and too polite for my own good t there and said nothing. Don't give me wrong I was at fault for not speaking up that is on me but you should at least know how to cut hair and went to stop cutting hair(.) read more

Such a great place to get a haircut. We were visiting from out of town and looking for a no frills place to get a quick cut. What we loved about this location is that is doesn't take reservations. They are walk-in only. When we arrived we were impressed with the open air design of the shop. There is a sign in sheet to reserve a time as well as benches to sit on and misters - my favorite part. It was refreshing to sit there and wait for the next available cut. Our barber was amazing. She was friendly and offered great conversation while she worked. The cut took 15 minutes at most and looked awesome. Cash only at this location but there is an ATM in the grocery store next door. Do not go to any other place if you're looking for a great experience! read more

I've been going here for years and never had an issue until today. Don't remember her name but she had purple hair. Everything was fine until she cut about a fifth of my eyebrow off then proceeded to make jokes about it. I know mistakes can happen but seriously if you screw up don't make jokes I don't see myself going back especially if I see her working read more

Great walk in cut. Had a #1 mid fade and hard part. Liz is very cool to talk to and the dog was really nice. Costs a bit more than I'm used to being from the mainland suburb, but good quality cut that was quick. Would recommend. read more

This review is on behalf of my husband's experience. We didn't think that any salons/barber shops would be open on a Sunday, but long and behold, as we were leave the "times" market, we see COOL CUTS! At first we thought, maybe an extension of the deli and that it's a sandwich shop. There was no line/wait and the barber(sorry, forgot her name. It was a long poly name) was ready to go. It's a cool outdoor spot with the ceiling fans going and water misting to cool clients down. Hair cut was clean and the barber was attentive to detail. Conversation was light and upbeat. Took less than 20 minutes. And price was less than places on the mainland! $18. Can't beat that when you're on vacation. read more

Superb place to get a haircut. Stop in , sign in and in no time the two chair shop will get you done. I asked for a high and tight style, and it was done perfectly. The open air shop even has misters to keep you cool while waiting in their waiting chairs. The 2 women were pleasant, easy going and knew the families that pop on regularly. Best pricing on the island too. This barbershop will now be my shop when I return back to maui. read more

Best barber by far! I forgot (sorry) the womans name, but she gave exceptional customer service. The wait was about 10 minutes (primarily walk-in). They were open on sunday which made it super convenient because I needed a last minute cut. The location and "open concept" was awesome. All around best experience I've had with a barber on Maui. read more

First of all, getting a haircut outside is awesome. Second, her work is outstanding. She was very personable and did an extremely thourough job. Wish we could bring her to Edmonds with us! Have 2 boys and didn't need appointment for haircut. Women working were super personable and friendly. Boys went from not cutting their hair through Covid to getting their hair cut today into cool styles. They did an awesome job and now instead of 2 little boys they left looking like young men. Would recommend highly. Bonus is its an open air salon so really felt comfortable having their hair cut here during this on- going pandemic read more

Not all workers are friendly or up to people waiting. They once had a worker pre covid over charging by taking tour money and saying thank you without offering change. They also have some workers that will be slow to call or recognize you until you leave. Disapppinted. read more

In the two years I've lived in the area I have wanted to take my son here for a haircut. Well I finally did yesterday and boy do I regret it! My son had went in with a full head of shoulder length hair wanting the same style just shorter. I was appalled at the end result. He now has a mullet style that looks as if he cut it himself! You can see nearly every cut she made or should I say every chop! The cut doesn't blend at all and resembles a shorter version of Joe Dirt! It is hard for me to believe she attended cosmotology school. I definitely need to take him to have it fixed which I'll do at Super Cuts. Eighteen dollars for a kids cut which doesn't include a wash. You definitely don't get what you pay for here...DON'T GO HERE EVER!! I'm giving this place 1 star only because I can't give it zero due to Yelp guidelines! read more

I have to say that this is my Go-To place in Kihei to get a quick haircut. Very friendly and efficient staff, a great haircut every time, and very affordable! I've been going here for 10 years. Cool Cuts Etc (formally Cut Style and Go) opens as early as nine and I've never had more that a few minute wait. I like that fact that it has that outside feeling! Barbershops inside are always so stuffy and the fact that only women cut your hair (or, that's all I've seen), is a plus. I would wholeheartedly recommend them, especially it you want a Cool Cut! read more

The place is has been pumping out good hair for years!!! Owner/management has changed but it's WAS still the best deal in town! Until last week. In my opinion, a salon with that much volume needs at least 3 people working . 6-8 months ago I got a really cute haircut and style (from an Asian guy who is not longer there :( ) so I decided to give this place a try for my next perm. Anyway, I've been getting perms for the last 3 years - my hair is just above my bra strap, can hold a curl and my perms last 10-12 months. I was charged $320 for my perm. I thought that was pricey and I would have expected that price at a higher scale establishment. I had an appointment, my hairstylist was rushing , taking calls, cuts and colors during my appointment. When the rollers came out I could see the RUSH job in the perm- curls were different throughout my hair! I'm not going back! And if anyone had the name of Asian guy who was working there 6-8 months ago please give me his number!

ATMOSPHERE: They're located in a two-level strip mall at the fork of Lower Main and Mill Streets. Parking was adequate but my weekend appointment time probably resulted in more empty stalls. The simply-decorated shop was cool, clean and sported four hair stations, a hair-washing bowl and back area where they also do waxing. Lighting was a bit dim but I guess my stylist can still see, LOL. EXPERIENCE: My every other week standing-appointment was rudely interrupted by COVID in March 2020. As the weeks went by, I thought of growing my hair super long but came to my senses once June approached. I consulted with my stylist for about 10 seconds before giving her the green light to go low. I really didn't want to buzz-cut the sides and back but it's the only way to deal with zoysia grass-like hair. A few days prior, I texted her a picture of what my end goal was and I can say it's well on its way, though the top is still too short to do a nice back comb. My patience shall be rewarded! POST COVID: Masks were required at all times. There was no protective barrier in between hair stations but no one was in the chair next to me nor next to the only other customer in the shop across the way. Fabric sofa chairs in the waiting area were sprayed with some kind of cleaner. OVERALL: It'll be a while until everyone can get their mops chopped so get in line! Luckily I have a regular stylist which makes things so easy.
