The staff treated him with such kindness, dignity, and compassion every single day. They didn't just provide care -- they built relationships. They went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable, supported, and genuinely cared for. What meant the most to us was how they also supported our family. They became like family to us -- offering reassurance, warmth, and understanding during a very emotional time. Knowing he was in such loving hands brought us tremendous peace. We cannot thank the team at Chester Street Residence enough for the heart they put into what they do. If you are looking for a place where your loved one will be treated like family, this is it.

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to request an immediate investigation into concerns that have been publicly raised regarding the treatment and care of residents at Chester Street Residence in Royal Oak. I recently became aware of allegations describing potentially serious issues involving resident care, supervision, sanitation, medication practices, and staff conduct. The allegations include concerns that residents may be left in soiled diapers for extended periods, receive inadequate personal care, experience neglect, and may not be properly monitored for their safety and well-being. Additional allegations suggest possible inappropriate medication practices, including the use of medications in a manner that may unnecessarily sedate residents. Concerns have also been raised regarding staff professionalism, supervision, and overall compliance with standards expected in a long-term care facility. The reports further describe incidents involving resident safety, including claims of residents wandering away, escaping supervision, suffering injuries, and other preventable events. If true, these allegations would represent a significant risk to vulnerable elderly and disabled individuals who depend on facility staff for their daily care and protection. Residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, compassion, and professionalism. Family members place tremendous trust in these facilities to provide safe and appropriate care. Any indication of neglect, abuse, inadequate staffing, unsafe conditions, or failure to meet regulatory standards should be thoroughly reviewed.

She had dementia and had previously resided at a higher-end memory care residence, a place that had a fancy physical look, design, and layout but did not serve her well; her care at that other facility was substandard and she suffered several unexplained injuries. We're so glad we found Eden House. The caregivers are all attentive and excellent. They made great efforts to keep my mom and the other residents comfortable and well-attended. As my mom became less and less mobile, she was at higher risk of developing a pressure sore and that eventually happened, which was not at all something Eden House could be faulted for. The amazing thing was that, through the great care Eden provided, it completely healed and never recurred. The caregiver-to-resident ratio is excellent. They prepare very good, nutritious meals. Eden House is extremely well managed. The home and rooms were always immaculate. We visited frequently and never observed any problems. Management and staff were always willing to communicate with us and kept us informed of any developments. The staff and management were always pleasant. They responded to all questions or concerns we had. It is clear they care a great deal for and about their residents. The physical location is great and the setting ideal, in a quiet residential community with a lovely yard and city park nearby.

We moved him to this facility after he broke his hip and he lived here for the remainder of his life (4 months) . During this time there would have been no better place for him. He was looked after by an extremely caring staff who tended to his well being with respect and excellent care. Some of the staff even spoke his native Italian with him and while in the very late stage of Alzheimer we still know by crooked smiles to the caregivers that he realized how they genuinely cared for him. If you are looking for a clean, excellently maintained facility with a caring staff and an owner who is an advocate for her residents, you will really want to check out Eden House. I would not hesitate to recommend the place. I know that from the clean facility, home cooked meals and best staff around Eden House was a blessing for my father and all of us.

I hadn't planned to stay four weeks, but stayed so I could coordinate a visit from my sister. During that stay I got to experience a lot of what All Seasons has to offer. First off, the apartments are spacious and recently updated. During the summer they were redoing the cabinets in the kitchens and putting in granite countertops. My mom's two bedroom has two huge walk-in closets, which is great since she just downsized from a large four bedroom house. I've only dined in the dining room twice; once in the summer and once during this brief visit. My mom and others I talked to said the food is sometimes hit or miss. (Gordon Foods supplies most of the food served.) Many times the fish or pork chops are over cooked. My whitefish last week was really good. Meals are included in the rent and guests pay $15.00 for dinner. They just started charging $10.00 for guest to have breakfast which isn't worth it. They have lots of daily activities for the residents and their guests to participate in. Bingo is probably the most popular. They have it in a small room at least twice a week and there's never an empty seat. You pay $3 for one card and they play about 20 rounds. I won around $28 once during the summer! There's movie nights and matinees too. The grounds are maintained well and the snow was managed. One of the guys there was sweeping snow off residents' cars. If you call down ahead of time and leave your keys they will bring your car around for you. Everyone that works here is so nice. Shout out to Athena and Margaret at the front desk. There is a high turnover of staff in the dining and housekeeping departments though. All in all, it's a lovely place for independent seniors to live.

Feeding while food is warm wasnt a priority. The building was bright & clean & most of the staff was friendly. However, the patients must be the main focus & concern. At first I was impressed at how the facility looked, how it was run and how it looked in general…read more But...... as time went on and the day to day routines were noticed first hand, I developed a different outlook. Don't get me wrong though, this facility does have a lot of positives. The front reception desk personnel are friendly and informative, most all of the staff from the aides, med techs, nursing, maintenance, housekeeping, activities etc. are friendly, helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. It's a clean facility with a nice home type feel for their residents. It's very nicely laid out and is very comfortable looking with lots of features like their Mainstreet area with plenty of tables and chairs and a calming waterfall to enjoy when visiting and eating with your loved ones. There's a library and an activities room, a fireplace with chairs to sit by the front entrance, a spacious dining area and multiple chairs and couches in the hallways and much more. The laundry services were spotty when it came to replenishing towels and washcloths. I asked twice for fresh sets for my family member when they were there for a short 3 week respite stay and both times I was told there weren't any. I was able to see inside the laundry room one day when the light were left on and they were definitely backed up on doing the laundry. So I finally brought in a washcloth and towel from home a couple of times. The food seemed so-so, but I can't attest to anything first hand. This was through the resident's own words as I asked day to day while making small talk with them as to how their meals were. The med techs that pass out medications aren't real knowledgeable as to what medications treat what conditions. This lack of knowledge could have been very serious for my family member if we hadn't noticed that they didn't receive some very important medications. We talked about it with the head of nursing and hopefully this type of thing won't happen with another patient. Fortunately it all worked out but still it could have been a very serious issue. I overheard some of the staff a couple of times talking in the elevator about their frustrations. I was surprised that they talked right in front of a family member. I found that to be unprofessional as it should have taken place in the break room or off the clock. The last thing that didn't sit well with me was when my family member said their goodbyes to the staff and got a snide 'see ya' as they walked on past without saying a nicer goodbye. This wasn't the way I wanted my family member to remember their brief stay. It comes down to just being more professional and polite. All in all, I know no place is perfect in every aspect and especially nowadays, keeping any place staffed is a big problem. With a few tweaks as far as the laundry linen shortage, teaching the staff to be more professional and not to discuss residents in front of family members and how to be nicer in general, and lastly teaching the med techs a bit more as far as giving them some quick lessons about what medications treat what conditions, this facility would earn a higher rating from me. Again, these are just my observations from only 3 weeks out of the year, but important ones all the same.

The healthcare workers are polite, respectful, and responsive. There is a cruise director type person who gets to know the residents and tries to invite them involved in activities they might like. I was visiting for a week from L.A. and was so happy my family found this facility.
