I have been going to Strathmore for about 5yrs since I moved out Riverhead. The food, and especially the bagels, have always been excellent. However, yesterday I purchased 1/2dozen cinnamon raisin bagels and it was truly difficult to find the raisins. Please take note and, hopefully, correct this oversight. read more

I used to go to the original strathmore bagels about 25 years ago in port Jeff station. This place in riverhead is not good. Bagels were cold. There is no bagel warmer for the base like I remember. Sadly, they've destroyed the Strathmore name I remember. I won't be back. read more

i asked for dressing on the side of my chef salad but there was ranch as well on the salad because they use a cucumber, tomat, onion mix. The girl didn't know how to make any of the salads I asked about and had to aska coworker. Gave 3 stars as they use Boars Head. read more

I ordered a turkey blt with cheddar cheese, one hour before the place closed. They were already closing up and dumping bagels in the trash. I ordered a roll since they said they were out of wraps. Right in front of me, the girl pulled a roll out of the trash and began to make my sandwich. I am not one to cause a scene so I didn't say anything but I already knew I was not going to eat the sandwich. After I left, I looked at the sandwich they made me for the hell of it before throwing it out and the roll was hard, there was no cheddar cheese, the lettuce was soggy, and there was hardly any meat. Stopped to get an egg sandwich here with my boyfriend and we were impressed! The place was very clean and new feeling. We bought two egg sandwiches, that came with home fries and they're homemade iced tea, then we bought a coffee and apple juice. The price only came to 11 and change. The price was excellent for what it came with! Very impressed. Delis in my area are much more expensive. I highly suggest you go here!!! read more

Service is very slow. If you need to be somewhere and you see a line it is best to turn around and walk out. I waited in line for 15 minutes before placing my order and there were only 5 or 6 people in front of me. I ordered an egg sandwich and there is only one employee who prepares the egg sandwiches. She was hustling to get all the sandwiches done, it was clear she could use some help. If she ever called out sick I could only imagine how long the wait would be. Overall the sandwich was average it was definitely not worth the 20 minute wait. If you don't mind very slow service and an average product this is the place for you, if not it would be in your best interest to go else where. read more

This place is the worst. It is close to my house and have never been pleased with it, but since it is so close I find myself going there more than I like. Well not anymore. Me and my daughter went there for a lunch sandwich. The woman that is usually making the nasty egg sandwhich helped us. Came into store and ordered an rgg sandwich over easy on a toasted roll. Girl behind counter was preoccupied in thought and texting. Even though I repeated myself she neglected to toast the roll, my eggs were overdone and my sandwich sat there as she completed her texting. Another worker brought the sandwich over and asked her to ring it up. She had somthing on her mind and was asked again to ring me up. Guess I wasn't as important as her texting. They were not busy but tables were dirty... Overall mistakes happen and it probably would not have been an issue if she even pretended to be interested in her job or my order... read more

Only reason for two stars is decent Cole slaw. I ordered a turkey sandwich on a roll with lettuce mayo salt and pepper and they had to ask me three times what it was I wanted on my sandwich. 5 minutes later, after the employees pouting, groaning, and threatening each other with physical violence without adult supervision in sight... my sandwich came without the pickle which is supposed to be "included", and which I specifically indicated I had wanted besides... Know what? Never mind. 1 STAR ...(Edit): oh, I almost forgot getting my hand covered in mayo from the bottom of my plate when I picked it up. Lovely. read more

Talk about the perfect bagel!!! Strathmore Bagel knows how to make something as simple my favorite bagel, or eggs and bacon on a bagel, absolutely perfect! Pancakes are flavorless. Food doesn't come out hot. Generous with bacon on egg sandwich but it's very fatty. Cheese isn't melted on egg sandwich. There were 3 flies that didn't leave us alone the whole time. Strathmore in Stony Brook is sooo much better. read more

First time, last time. We are new to the area. My wife went in for a dozen bagels. Two spaced-out young guys working the counter, couldn't have moved any slower. "Special of the day" was bacon and egg on English muffin. It's only 7am when customer on this slow-creeping line orders the special. One of the young counter zombies manages to mumble that they are out of English muffins. What? Place has only been open an hour. Order a dozen assorted bagels that's what you get, not 13 or 18 as other bagel shops offer. Adios, Strathmore, nice knowing you. We'll take our business to a more deserving place. read more

Walked in 30 minutes before closing for a cup of coffee and she said the dining room was already closed. Couldn't even sit down for 10 or 15 minutes. Didn't get our business. We went somewhere more welcoming. Guess they aren't worried about losing customers. read more

I was hungry and this place was in front of me. I got an egg sandwich, coffee and bran muffin. The sandwich was okay, the coffee was very weak and the bran muffin (wrapped in plastic) was at least a couple of days old. It was good, but stale. I didn't complain because, like I said, I was hungry and this place was in front of me. Lesson learned. read more
