Got the standard BEC & Turkey Bacon, egg, & cheese on a roll and It was delicious! The smoothies too. We arrived during the busy hours but the line was still moving AND the staff was very kind, they even bring the food to you. I can tell this a local favorite and if I'm ever back in Calverton, I'm stopping by and you should too

This was my second visit to this bagel shop, and unfortunately, it wasn't much better than the first. The staff behind the counter seemed more focused on chatting with each other than on helping customers. I ordered a simple breakfast sandwich: one fried egg, a sausage patty, Swiss cheese, salt and pepper on a seedless roll. What I received was a cold sandwich on a poppy seed roll that tasted a bit stale. The Swiss cheese wasn't even melted, and the sausage was just barely warm. For $12, you'd expect at least a fresh, hot sandwich. Disappointing overall.

Welcome to Bean & Bagel Cafe.

Headed to the NOFO for a day at the vineyards with my wife for her birthday. On our way to our regular spot we saw [on Yelp] that they were permanently closed. What do we do? Checked Yelp for a new spot and found Bean & Bagel Cafe... We are glad and headed right over...It was a very good move. This place is awesome. Besides the huge menu and well stocked deli counter, they had a wonderful assortment of bagels and toppings. The bagels were terriffic and my simple sandwich with cream cheese was great. My wife had an egg sandwich with bacon and veverything was cooked the way she likes it. The staff here is wonderful-friendly and they really stand out in the restaurant-deli world. The shop is spacious, parking plentiful and most of their clients look like regulars in this comfortable setting. KUDOs to the team at Bean & Bagel Cafe.,

Solid bagel. Good bacon egg and cheese. Great seasoning on the everything bagel. But the bagel itself, the dough, was not as good as other places nearby.

I asked a local a place to stop for breakfast and this is what they immediately suggested. In the week I was here I stopped twice (it's hard not to). I'm really big on customer service and this place hit it out of the park. I had a classic long island bacon egg and cheese on a bagel and just wow look at that cheese! The next time I went I had to try one of the employees favorites which was a toasted french toast bagel with melted butter, syrup and powdered sugar. It was AMAZING. Little bummed I don't have a picture of that, but not to worry, I'll be back.

    Killer breakfast burrito.

The restaurant we originally picked had a 20 minute wait... and with two hangry toddlers, we crossed the street and saw a restaurant sign on top of a neat looking bar. It is actually next to a bar as well, so we eyeing sure it was for the kids. I stood outside and the clock struck 2pm, and a nice gentleman opened the velvet rope for us and said "come in, we were open." Not knowing if this was for the kids or not, we walked in and saw one of the most interesting interiors I have seen in awhile. It was fun and different. The manager made it fun as well as he has a great attitude and happy to help in terms of recommendations. The menu itself is big and you will need some help. The first thing was needing to get food to two little hangry ones, so we asked for noodles, which he got on immediately, getting in a pancit order. That came out first and my wife and I took a few extended moments as the menu is extensive. I ordered the chicken and waffle with bang bang shrimp and my wife had the steak with rice and onions. Both dishes were flavorful and definitely enjoyable. I could definitely go back in again if I ever head back or East, but maybe taking the Long Island railroad would be better since it is across the street from the train station. Definitely stop in for a drink and enjoy the cool little toys and designs around the restaurant. This restaurant definitely provides variety of you want to try something new!

Lots of parking, unique decor, with a friendly staff. We ordered a few Filipino dishes like sisig, chicken inasal, fried lumpia, and regular stuff like fried mushrooms and disco fries. Everything was wonderful and tasted great. The new place definitely has growing pains, sometimes apps came out with the entrees, silverware and plates came after the courses, took a while for our bill to come, but these are little things that will be taken care of once they have a proper waitstaff. We're definitely going to be back.

On our way out on the east end, I spied this coffee shop and vowed to hit it up on my way home. I asked the barista about the brown sugar cinnamon special and she said it was very popular. They do upcharge for milk subs still here, sigh, this end of the island I guess to be expected but this coffee was absolutely delicious. I also grabbed three chocolate chip cookies for the kids, who gobbled them up and didn't save me nary a bite. While I can't speak to the cookies personally, I'll take the crumbs as a sign that they were excellent. The location itself is bright, clean and spacious with ample parking and clean bathrooms. I think I might have to take another long drive for the coffee and farms before fall is up. They even have a container of milk bone treats for your pup which my daughter was super excited to bring home to our dog. How sweet! Thanks Hampton Coffee!

I really do take far too many photos, but it's helpful because then I remember there are spots I may have forgotten to write up like Macchiato Espresso Bar. I visited this cute Mattituck location back in late August and the results were pretty tasty. You see my wife and I were looking for some coffee and a place that's different than what we've often found on the North Fork and so MEB popped up as an option. Not a ton of reviews were posted, but from the ones on Yelp (and dare I say Google too) made it seem worthy of stopping. The worthiness is definitely there because Macchiato has a nice array of coffee options as well as pastries and more elaborate edibles (sandwiches, salads, etc.). You can find everything on their menus though you won't find too much else inside as the place is definitely small. A couple of tables, some fridge drinks and pre-maid foods, and an area of swag and other items is the entirety of the interior so don't expect any true cozy feels. But hey, you can't drink cozy (well maybe in the Fall/Winter), and so let's turn our attention back to the name of this place and focus on coffee. I went with an iced latte with vanilla while my wife tried the iced chocolate (as it was written on the menu). For me, I liked mine. Nothing negative to necessarily say about it as it had a good coffee kick, but when my wife felt like hers was a little too heavy in the bitter bang before the chocolate took over, I decided for us to switch drinks as I thought the iced chocolate was delightful (I do like my coffee a little stronger). Before finishing up, I do want to mention that we were a bit hungry and so one of the chocolate croissants in the display case made its way into our possession. The funny interaction my wife had with the friendly staff member ("Is that a chocolate croissant?" "You know it is!") added to our excitement and oh did it pay off as it tasted delicious. Overall, Macchiato Espresso Bar had a lot to like. Perhaps they're a little small, but they pack some good coffee and pastry/food choices in an area that really doesn't have a ton of options. I'd definitely return another time when out east and in search of my morning cup of joe along with a desire for a bite to eat. And with that I can now post some very belated pics with this review so the CMs stay off my back!
