They're incredibly accessible by phone, email, or in person, and the office being open seven days a week was a huge plus. The maintenance team is also top-notch--quick to respond and often able to resolve issues the same day, even on weekends. Pool and jacuzzi are always clean and was a great amenity. Management is always making improvements to the community, which made CentrePointe a great place to live. It's definitely a place we'll miss!

This is my 5th apartment in LA county where I truly had SO many issues beyond count. Summarizing some of the goods and bad below: Pros: Fair security deposit and timing on paying the deposit after move out Security guard is friendly and makes you feel better about the garage parking Great location in west LA, generally safe neighborhood, proximity to LAX Modern security and access controls (app instead of key fob) Maintenance and front office staff are fast to respond and generally helpful Renovated units, amenities. They even added a water line for the fridge that I brought with me Cons: Homeless permanently living on selby ave (right out back from the complex) to which the city won't do anything about it. While you pay extraordinary rents. Unit inspection checklist Our unit was renovated in some ways but off putting in others, holes in walls, scrapes in walls, dirty wall switches, no door sweeps, missing blinds, etc. when I first moved in and documented all this it took 6 months to get any resolution as I was told (emergency repairs only during COVID) Thieves/homeless casing the security guard hours and stealing laundry from the communal laundry room and/or scavaging dumpsters for recyclables (our comforter and several towels were stolen right after the security guard finished up in the morning. security cameras did nothing nor did the police) Mice/rats, roaches, and silverfish sightings are a frequent occurrence. We did get complimentary spraying twice a month to help combat this. Apartment unit Leaks, leaks, leaks. Our bedroom was situated under a balcony and a 30 year building was not designed with water in mind. Our bedroom ceiling leaked multiple times over the course of 4 years and management would just skim over it and paint instead of permanently fixing the issue. They decided to permanently fix the issue the week of our move out, how convenient. Note this involved all of our clothes getting doused as well as carpet in the bedroom which probably had mildew and mold under it. Luckily it wasn't a massive flood since we were home but it could've been much worse. Again, their solution was for us to use our renters insurance even though the landlord is responsible for drying in the apartment. Garage Leaks Several times my car had calcified water leaked onto it from the old, corroded Plumbing in the parking garage. Management would not pay for the detail needed to get it off my car. Their general answer to all issues caused by existing conditions is "use your renters insurance" Greedy, horrible owner company While the on site management were decent people (shout out to Doug and Lucia) they were yellow taped behind a greedy corporation who gave no shits for their tenants. My original rent was offered up at a good rate (during Covid) but by 4 years later, grew 15%. This was about 5-10% per year, despite being a good tenant, they don't care. This is to keep up with the obnoxiously priced apartments that are brand new on overland ave. Noise/general comfort This place was horribly noisy, I was on a 3rd floor with no one above me thinking that would be quiet. I was terribly wrong. Not only did I hear the cars whooshing by daily on overland which never ended, I had the most horrible neighbors who would blast radios and slam loud work out equipment anywhere from 2-6 am. In violation of the lease quiet hours, I filed at least 10 noise complaints and it still kept happening. There are also many large dogs in the complex confined to a small patio area so enjoy the all day barking. Even though management claims pets are not allowed (laughable) Pool/gym/bbq The amenities that are included appear lavish at first but you'll quickly realize it's not as nice as it seems. The bbqs were useless and wouldn't heat up. Certain tenants in the complex hog the pool and hot tub at all times, making it less desirable to go in.

Cleaning staff of what I can tell might be only 2 people do a great job of handling the occasional mess. Apartments: Well maintained, appliances are pretty good, but all compact versions as the rooms themselves are pretty small. Decent amount of cabinet space, and high ceilings so if you can make use of vertical storage, you should be in good shape. Floors are concrete so while they are easy to clean, they are also very cold. Not recommended for families due to size, but couples can make due and singles will be fine as long as you don't have a lot of stuff. Amenities: - Parking is limited to 1 space per apartment which would be one of the few drawbacks but some of the neighboring streets have free parking with only 1 day where you have to move the car for street cleaning. Streets in the area are also very safe seeming.. Building has electric car charging spots also. - Gym Equipment is relatively new, good quality and kept clean. Nothing too fancy, similar to a nice hotel. Would be nice to have 1 or 2 more items but definitely adequate for a relatively small apartment complex. Also, never busy and 24 hours (although be careful after hours as I believe the person directly above can hear the noise from the gym). Two large TV's for watching games etc. - Coffee Commissary: This place is great. While it's not part of MLofts, it is in the same building and is a good place to do work. - Pet Run: This is a secure walkway where you can walk your dog. A great idea in concept but I generally walk around the block to the grass. - Laundry: 1 washer/ 1 dryer on every floor. Seems like not enough but I've only occasionally run into a situation where I had to borrow another floor's. Laundry rooms are relatively clean (as far as laundry rooms go anyway). - Common gathering areas: Firepit, common area tables and penthouse grills are all well maintained. These areas don't seem to get much use. While they are nice to have, I think it's probably because it's a bit awkward to have a gathering or to hang out in the middle of the common where you are in view of basically everyone else that lives in the complex (unless you're into that sort of thing). The penthouse grill area is more private which is nice, but again, I've never seen a gathering up there. - Wifi in lobby/gym: This seems a little spotty, but there's general cell service in the area. Staff: Julie the Property Manager and Stephanie the Assistant Community Manager are definitely a huge plus for this place. Both of them are very responsive to concerns and will go out of their way to take care of issues. They have responded to all of our maintenance requests within 24 hours. They even move all of the packages into the locked office before they leave for the weekend and put them back out in front of your mailbox to minimize the chance of theft. Residents: Generally young professionals who keep to themselves, very dog friendly.

My experience was incredibly frustrating and, in my opinion, completely unacceptable. I paid two application fees, submitted the documentation requested, and made multiple attempts to get clarification when additional documentation was supposedly needed. The most offensive part of this experience was being told that I had altered my pay stubs. I completely dispute that accusation. I provided my documentation in good faith, and rather than being given a clear opportunity to address the issue, I was left trying to figure out what exactly they wanted from me. I was also told that my co-signer did not provide sufficient income documentation. I specifically asked what additional documentation we could provide to satisfy the requirements. Natalie then told me to complete a "tax transcript," yet there was no option available to me to provide or complete the document she was referring to. I did exactly what a reasonable applicant should do: I asked for clarification. I even emailed Alex on Friday specifically asking what was needed because I wanted to resolve the issue and provide whatever legitimate documentation was required. Despite my efforts, I feel that I was given the runaround after already paying two application fees and investing substantial time gathering documentation. The entire process left me feeling that my time and money were not respected. Being accused of submitting altered documents is especially serious, and I expect companies handling sensitive financial information to have clear, consistent, and professional procedures for verifying documentation and communicating with applicants. I have requested the return of my two application fees and the removal of my personal information and documentation from their system to the extent permitted by law. I have also requested an explanation of the allegation regarding my pay stubs and clarification regarding exactly what documentation was supposedly missing. At this point, I am reporting my experience involving Alex, Natalie, and Frost Chaddock to the appropriate local, state, and federal agencies for independent review. That is not the level of professionalism or transparency I expect when dealing with someone's personal and financial information.

The reality of renting in Westwood is that you'll be charged high rent for unworthy "luxury"…read moreapartments, and 430 Kelton is an amazing example of this. I lived there for two years and am so happy to be done with this place. Management is terrible. I had FIVE different "landlords." When a new "landlord" comes, they know nothing that the old one knew. So, maintenance on common areas is very slow, and the management is chaotic every time there is a change. I used to personally give the "landlord" paper checks each month to pay rent. They lost the check twice, and tried to blame me for not paying on time. When I moved out, I was charged for things that were not agreed on in my inspection. They dropped this after I fought it. But, this incident (along with "losing" my rent payments) is sketchy. Regardless of when your lease starts, you have to decide whether you will renew by February. When you move in, nitpick the place and START DECIDING EARLY whether you want to renew. Also, the only option for lease length is 12 months, which sucks. They probably pressure you to renew early in your lease on purpose, hoping that you haven't lived there long enough for the disappointments to truly set in so that you will renew. Once you sign that contract, you are trapped paying the rent until the lease ends or finding a sub-letter. Kitchen appliances are good. Bathrooms look nice on the surface, but have issues you won't notice at first. Your two options for lighting are a heat lamp, or an overhead light with a loud fan that doesn't work. Every time you shower, expect the entire bathroom to be soaking wet with condensation, toilet paper, and mirrors included. This is not normal. I had endless issues with my toilet. It kept running water after flushing, and the flush handle broke off three times because it was made from cheap plastic. The toilet also flooded two times. Maintenance did their best to help, but I had issues until I moved because the parts they used to fix the toilet were cheap. The shower head is so low that my head touched it. The tub faucet and knob are made of cheap plastic that can detach from the wall. One bathroom had silverfish and spiders, the other had termites. The landlord refused to send an exterminator until we brought the carcasses to her office and told her firmly to get it fixed. The apartment also became infested with cockroaches during my second year, and it took months to get an exterminator. My bedroom window looked out to the hallway where people walked to get to their units, which is terrible from a safety and privacy standpoint. There's only one elevator that is too small, too slow, and breaks constantly. Need to move furniture? Have fun taking the stairs! There are 40 units in the complex, but only three washers and three dryers total, which is not sufficient. There was once a three-month stint where only ONE WASHER AND DRYER was operational for the entire complex. Unacceptable. Maintenance is the one thing they got right. When you submit a request, they will come in an efficient manner and do their best to help you. The maintenance workers are also very nice. My only complaint is that some things (e.g. toilet) kept breaking. The building has an "atrium" design, and all hallways are outdoor ledges, so anyone could keep a list of who lives where if they wanted to. During the day, the front entrance is propped wide open. Anyone can enter. At night, no management is present. Residents are too lax and will let anyone in the building from the lobby. No one monitors who enters or leaves the building, which is unsafe. The doors to units are flimsy and can be easily broken into. Units also have bedroom windows in the communal hallways, which could be broken into. In Westwood, break-ins are not uncommon. These factors led me to feel unsafe living there. Lastly, packages are thrown lazily on the floor of the lobby and I had many packages stolen. There is no reason why a luxury apartment shouldn't have a secure mail room system. Come on, 430 Kelton. At least advertise the place for what it is. Do not call yourself a luxury apartment until you start doing more than the bare minimum. Fix the laundry, elevator, and package situation. Start investing in quality parts so that repairs to the building actually last. You are a luxury apartment in Los Angeles charging $5k plus per month for a 2B2B. You can do better.

We have 5 or 6 major breaks/incidents in one year. Managers are rude and uncooperative/ snobby. The building is owned/ managed/ operated by sharks, and some are out of State, (an investment company, an accounting firm, a management firm, etc.) They have low-life business practices that would make sure to eat away your deposit with "glazing to tubs, paints, cleaning and other phony repairs that are greatly exgagarated. Good luck trying to communicate with them, and you basically have no recourse against their army of savvy managers, etc. They wouldn't mind ripping off unsuspected poor college students!
