They were the first place I turned to for shocks for my truck. But after calling and leaving messages four times with no return calls, I had to go to another business. No one seems to answer the phone. When you leave a message you should get a call back. I am not sure how they get business when they don't follow through. I finally, got a live voice from the owner and was told they are busy and his wife does not come in every day but he does his best. The problem is with that excuse, no one calls back on any day. If we can't get our vehicle in to be fixed, not only is your company losing money but customers are having to find another place. read more

Lancaster Auto Care & Custom is my go-to mechanic. From the first call to Shannon (owner/office manager), you will know that you'll be treated right. Chip and Bill are honest and skilled. I recently had to have my truck towed there after breaking down on my way to work. Shannon assured me that they would have my truck looked at quickly. I received a call within an hour with a diagnosis and estimate. They did not try to oversell me and they explained my problem in language I could understand. They had my truck fixed and ready to go by the early afternoon. I feel I should note that my co-worker is married to one of the owners/mechanics, and this is why I took my truck there initially. That said, Lancaster has done work on a number of my co-workers' vehicles, and everyone has been more than happy with the results. They have now done work on my truck twice for different problems. My first experience at LAC and meeting the owners Chip & Shannon was too great not to review here on YELP!! These two wonderful people clearly understand, not only how to repair cars, but more importantly how to talk to us "laymen" about stuff we don't understand...AND what Customer Service is, plain and simple. My wife's Toyota Sienna van was unable to pass Smog, and we were referred to LAC for a "smoke test" and to work through the issue. Chip went above and beyond to resolve the issue and didn't use the opportunity to "sell us" on anything more. Such a pleasant experience! I went in with a huge oil leak thinking the worst. Bill saw right away what was causing the leak. The oil filter was loose and about to fall off! He suggested an oil change (and I agreed as it has been over a year since my last.) He spent an hour looking to be sure that was the only issue and also addressed a few other items I had mentioned (overheating, belt squeal and dashboard brake light coming on periodically). Shannon and her husband (I didn't catch his name) are wonderful! I had squeaky brake that I had endured for a few months. Wishful thinking had me hoping that it might go away. Haha. Which never happens. After reading reviews after reviews for different auto places around town I felt comfortable coming here. I called and spoke to Shannon who was very sweet and kind. She got me in as soon as she could. I figured it was a bad rotor and that's what it was. Shannon's husband called me and informed me of the issue which was a chip in the rotor. He made some suggestions and let me decide on what I wanted to do. He said he could try to repair or replace it. I'm sure repairing it would have been much more of a hassle than to replace it. But he gave me the choice anyway. There was no pressure to do one thing over the other. My oil change light was on and he offered to do that as well if I wanted. Everything was done in a timely manner and my car doesn't squeak anymore! And I'm pretty sure they charged me less than what I was quoted. When does that ever happen? I will definitely go to Lancaster for all my car repair needs. Friendly staff and wonderful service. What more could you ask for? read more

I can't say enough about how well I was treated and taken care of. Words that come to mind...Professional, Knowledgeable and Friendly... So I needed my starter replaced as I didn't have the necessary equipment to do it myself. After calling multiple shops to get pricing, these guys were referred to me by my co-workers who had good things to say about them. I called them up and they quoted me less then the other guys. I asked if I could have it done the same day as I was to be leaving town within a few days. Being very busy they said they would try and fit me in within a day or two. I dropped off my car around noon and by the end of the day I had received a call letting me know they were done. I can't say enough good things about this auto shop. They are friendly and knowledgeable and tell it like it is. They do not make work to drive up your bill! I brought in an old Dodge 1500 pickup with a wicked shimmy and expected a $1000 bill. Chip looked it over and diagnosed my overdue spark plug replacement (which hadn't been changed in over 8 years; so you can imagine what a mess that was). The total job was $200. More than reasonable. They are conveniently located off the freeway where Rob's Garage used to be...it is run by new owners that have worked around Reno for 20+ years, so they are extremely skilled. And if you are interested in having custom work done, ask to see the 1966 Mustang that Chip is rebuilding. Amazing!! They are at the back of the complex of buildings; don't be put off by the fact that they don't front Glendale Street...they are worth the effort to find! read more
