Being from Twin Falls Idaho on a fishing trip, I didn't have the proper tools in my truck or camper to take on the project. On Monday morning I called Driven Diesel to see what they could do. Russel said he might get to it that afternoon to diagnosis the problem and let me know, time depending. He called later that day and had found the leak, gave me a very fair quote and said it should be done in the next day or two. He called me the very next morning to pick it up. I pulled my RV and boat home a week later with no issues. High quality work, very reliable, fast service, good pricing, diesel pickup experts. He was able to schedule us for Saturday afternoon, which was critical since we were supposed to head home that day. Another shop didn't have availability until Monday and the other high rated mobile mechanic was out of town. Because of storm-related commute issues earlier in the week, Jim ended up arriving around 4pm instead of noon. Totally understandable given the conditions. He worked outside in freezing weather and never complained once. Jim was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. He was great with my wife, my son, and even let our dogs jump on him and give him kisses. Despite the tough conditions, he got the job done and got us safely back on the road with a solid new CV axle so we could make it home as planned. I'd hire Jim again in a heartbeat. They informed my warranty company that the engine repair would cost $28,000 for my 2006 Dodge diesel. They also told my warranty company that one of my injectors had gone bad and damaged my engine, causing it to knock. My injectors were only a little over a year old, and I have the receipts to prove it. They claimed that diagnosing the engine knock cost over $1,100. Please be cautious and avoid this shop.

First, my wife needed to have her timing belt replaced on her SUV, or so she was told at a local garage. She submitted her info to the website for a quote, only to find out her vehicle does not have a timing belt, it has a timing chain, which does not need to be replaced. That honest from the get go intrigued me. I needed to have my 180k mile service completed on my 2000 Toyota Tundra. This service includes new timing belt, water pump, replacing rear differential oil (including limited slip), replace transmission fluid, re torque propeller shaft bolts, lubricate propeller shaft, and replace coolant and front differential oil. The quote I got at the usual place I go was almost $1500. I used this site and saved almost $600. Besides the price, great service. Zane the owner is an certified auto inspector. He ensures that only the best local ASE certified technicians work on your vehicle. At the very least, you owe it to yourself to check out the site and get a quote. I recommend Zane now to all my friends and family without hesitation. Finally we have an honest and reasonable auto repair service in Reno.

Let me explain -- my car had been making…read morea noise like an RC car running out of juice and the guys at the auto part store said the alternator was going out. Lovely. I had called a few places around town and ZZZ was able to (A) get me in right away, (B) provide a precise quote for what I thought was the issue over the phone and (C) make me feel immediately "safe" with them in that first call. When asking if I wanted refurb or new parts, the price was about $150 difference. I originally said new, but they advised me about the warranty on refurb parts and not to feel scared of it. I appreciated that they didn't just take my money. Once I arrived, I told them about the previous convo at the auto store and they did some diagnostic tests, all while letting me stand there and watch. About 10-15 minutes later and some dusting stuff off they're like...nah you're good. If anything I needed a new battery, but they said even that was in pretty good shape. They offered to install that for me if I wanted, but basically said that I could just go. Since then, my car has been totally fine! A less ethical place could've easily just cheated me, charged for XYZ or installed a new alternator anyway. So they didn't really do work on my car this time, but their honesty 10000% earned my business for the next time a problem arises.

They really take the time not only to fix the problem (right!) but also to explain anything you have a question about. I didn't like how they charge a $180 diagnostic fee, whether they find an issue or not. In my case, they couldn't pinpoint my exact coolant leak but they found other lingering problems that needed fixing, so I appreciated that. They are on the higher end for fees, and I haven't came here enough to know how good the mechanics are, but they seem fairly good so far. Moral of the story, I'll come back.

I came here for an oil change and told them that if they noticed anything they thought needed a tune up - I was game as I was about to make a big cross country trip. They came back and said everything looked great. I ran through the list from the first quote I had and they eased my mind. They let me know that they thought all of that was unnecessary and didn't make sense given the past maintenance and state of the vehicle. It was so nice to feel like I was dealing with honest humans. I called to inquire on maintenance service for my Lexus-(that is at the Lexus dealer getting an oil change).... I was expecting to leave a voicemail, but they answered the phone... Nice! Very helpful and casual.. he even said they could just look to see if I need my serpentine belt needs to be replaced on the Lexus.. Since I am having the oil change there, I scheduled for the 4runner to get an oil change.. for next week.
