Originally had DiverXO (Michelin version) on our itinerary in Madrid; but because we didn't know how or what kind of food/ambience it would be like, we figured we'll give it a shot at StreetXO. And holy cow, it did not disappoint. We were around the area about 45 mins prior to closing and attempted to get a table. We knew they were gonna be busy but not THAT busy - boy, were we wrong. Unfortunately, they were unable to accept any more parties because of people who were already waiting. So...we killed time and attempted to try again during dinner hour. We got there about 45-1 hour early in advance and there were at least 10+ parties ALREADY waiting or were waiting to put their names down. Luckily, the wait wasn't long for us (but I do recommend getting there early in advance, if possible). It gets busy real quick. Ambiance - club vibes. We did bar seating which IMO, is the best experience. Food was spectacular, drinks were phenomenal (favorite: passion fruit), I ordered 2x. Verdict: since we had a good experience here, the next time we're in Madrid, we'll definitely be going to StreetXO. FYI: restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of the mall (inside). There's a bench to sit just right outside the door so if you can snatch one, do so, since it'll most likely be a wait.

Street XO was one of the standout meals during our trip to Madrid. We arrived at around 10 pm without a reservation and were able to grab a seat at the bar while waiting for an opening. I was willing to be seated on the patio to shorten our wait but I am glad counter space opened up for us; eating at the counter was such a vibe, and I wouldn't want to miss that part of the experience. While waiting at the bar we ordered cocktails; both were a pleasure to watch being made, and these bartenders practice sorcery! Chipping from a large block of ice, smoking things, they put on a good show! I told the hostess I was a pescatarian when we arrived and she noted on both the drink and food menus which items would be off limits for me because they contained meat. She also noted which items could be tweaked to become pescatarian or vegetarian. I really appreciated this attention from the hostess and was extremely impressed by it. Once seated at the counter in the dining room we enjoyed watching the chefs cook, they have a well-oiled machine in the kitchen. For food we shared: Crabs & Chips (24 Euro), Sandwich Club Vegetariano (14 Euro), Croquetas (de la pedroche, 19 Euro), Une Vaca Viajando de Tailandia a Mexico (24 Euro), and Cheesecake Helado (11 Euro). Crab and Chips was tasty and a fun dish, the Club sandwich was skippable, and the croquetas were good, but I felt the creaminess of the croquetas' filling overpowered the raw tuna on top. The absolute show stealer for me was the "cheesecake" dessert. Labeled a cheesecake on the menu, it seemed more like an ice cream sundae to me, and I mean this in the best possible way. If you like sweet and salty, this is the dish for you, the cheese cake ice cream is topped with caramel popcorn, micro basil, and dollops of guava sauce... it was heaven on a plate. The cheesecake was my favorite dish, followed by the Crab & Chips. My fella really enjoyed the Beef Check dish. Our bill came to 140 Euros and we left extremely full and happy. Not only was the service at Street XO great, but the vibes were too. We were seated next to a local couple that were so nice to chat with and they had tried everything on the menu already, so we got some pointers from them on what to order.

We walked in and checked in with the girl which took down our name, number, allergies, etc and waited a long time to be seated yet everyone that came in after us got seated right away (wasn't a reservation issue but not even sure why the delay). Finally got seated at a giant bar (no tables). It was around 2pm and this place was like a disco -- I guess some folks love that aspect ... trance type music playing loud. Food was very eclectic, tasty actually but just a bit odd to us all the way around. Overpriced but I guess presentation is nice so you pay a premium for that and music. We were extremely underwhelmed to say the least... we had to go for a quick ham sandwich after we left as we were still hungry after $70 appetizers and 2 drinks. We just weren't the target audience , I suppose. Good luck

If I could give this a 3.5 I would. Don't get me wrong the food was probably one of the best meals we had in Madrid in still thinking about the corn and the pork belly dish but here's 3 things that annoyed me: The music levels are insanely loud I get it's the vibe but if it got turned down maybe a notch it would be great Two: they charged us for what we that we didn't ask for they just filled the empty cups on the table as they came to take our order and talk to us about the menu 2.50 euro per water Three: we ordered the beef dish shown in my pics but we did not add the truffle ourselves. We just wanted the dish that cost 19 euro but when I saw the receipt there was an additional 15 euro added to ur bill for the "truffle" So that was pretty annoying other wise the food was excellent

What a fun and unique experience! Definitely come around 7:30pm and put your name on the wait list for the night- they don't take reservations in advance. You can get a spot at the bar while you wait for the rest of the restaurant to open. The Blood XO comes in a fun anatomical heart cup and the Dinosaur egg (super sweet as we were warned by our waitress) came in a cute cracked egg cup with dry ice. Someone sitting next to us also took a video haha The food was a mix of lots of fun flavors that worked well. We tried the dumplings pekines, sashimi, lasagna Koreana, tako de pulpo, and pork belly which were all delicious. The lasagna was actually our least favorite even though it was one that came highly reviewed by many others. Overall, this was a fun experience and I loved the vibe of the restaurant.

Bad Food Poisoning!!! We went on 10/2 and the (3) of us in our party got sick from the food. (2) of us got food poisoning and (1) of us got really bad indigestion. Now looking back this place lacks hygiene. The workers wiped their hands on their apron after touching things that weren't food. I didn't see them wash their hands. At first we were blown away by the venue, lights, music, cocktails, and food presentation! However, the day after has been horrible. Please please train your cooks on proper hygiene and handling of the food. We are visiting Madrid from the USA and this place came highly recommended, so we were excited. It was a disappointment. I added photos - again, the presentation was great, we were excited as we are foodies! But the food poisoning that came the next day, has been very bad. Do NOT RECOMMEND.

Foodie PARADISE!!! I heard so many great things about this place and decided to give it a try while in Madrid and it didn't disappoint. This place is straight MAGIC and INCREDIBLE. I love the Spanish-asian fusion dishes I had and all I can say is this place is immersive, amazing, out of this world and def worth the time. Amazing service, great ambiance and able all AMAZING food. 10/10

What an incredible restaurant! We heard of this restaurant as we were preparing for our Madrid trip and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We went on a Friday night and got there shortly after they opened at 7:30 pm and were quickly seated in their waiting area where we order drinks. My fiance got the famous dinosaur egg and I got the XO Sangre and both were delicious and came in fun cups. We were soon taken into the dining area which looked and felt like an outdoor market with bright signs, lots of noise (fun music and chefs yelling all the orders to each other), and high top bar seating around the kitchen. Every dish was delicious in its own way, and while I normally eat a more vegetarian diet with chicken and shrimp, I was blown away with the salmon dishes and practically everything we got. I don't remember the names unfortunately, but the menu seems to change frequently anyway. The servers tell you how to eat the food and while it can be a little hard to hear them, I wouldn't have it any other way. I can say this is by far the best restaurant we've ever been to and we will certainly return next time we're in Madrid.

Second time to visit Street XO and it was as excellent as we remembered. Six years ago, we arrived to stand in line for nearly 2 hours. This time, we arrived 30 minutes before the restaurant opened but were able to sit in the adjacent bar and put our name on a "list" to be able to be seated as soon as the restaurant opened. The atmosphere at Street XO is electric. Including the thumping beat of the music! This is not your quiet, romantic dinner place. Which was fine with us--we were on a business trip. The louder and more fun, the better. The seating encircles the kitchen so you get to see and hear the staff doing the cooking, plating and serving. It's hard to capture the full experience in a review, but know that the cocktails are creative, the food is unique and the experience is memorable. I don't think our group will ever visit Madrid and not visit Street XO. It's one of our happy places.

One of the most unique dining experiences with innovative and flavorful food! They do not take reservations, so it is best to come 20-30 min before opening in order to ensure first seating. There is both an indoor and outdoor seating area - the indoor allows you to sit at the bar that surrounds the kitchen and watch the chefs work their magic, the outdoor is a good alternative for those who do not want to listen to loud clubbing music as they dine (which is the vibe of inside). We tried the Vietnamese spring rolls, Peruvian sashimi, Vietnamese steak, and sashimi croquettes filled with kimchi - all of which were unique and well cooked, with strong flavorful sauces. The food is a tad on the salty side but absolutely delicious. Wish we had the room to try more dishes as there are many that look inciting.

What an immersive experience at Street XO. Since you walk in you are teleported into a wild place! The music the decor and the overall ambiance take you to a whole different world. The menu was very diverse with many different foods that fuse different cooking styles with that of Spain. Each plate had a purpose and a process to get all the flavors. All of this enhanced the experience. Additionally, the service was top notch. Cool spot, will make a stop again when I am in Madrid !

Volvemos definitivamente!
This was outstanding. We had high expectations given the pedigree behind it, and the crazy lines that it gets, but we were also somewhat concerned given that it's in a department store in the rich part of town. No need to worry though, as this is one of the better, more original restaurants I've been to in Europe. First off, the line is pretty insane -- we luckily got there at 8pm (it opens at 8:30) and within ten minutes of our arrival (still twenty minutes before it opened) the line was already snaking down the stairs. The food is well worth it, though. We got the brioche, the Korean lasagna, the duck & prawns (basically a ball of duck wrapped with shrimp sashimi), the laksa (full-bodied shrimp in a cocunut broth), the saam (pork belly lettuce wraps, and the tuna croquettes (which came with this amazing liquidy tea inside of them). We loved everything, but the croquettes may have been my favorite. If there was anything I'd do differently next time, it might be to trade in the saam for the pibil tacos. I'd also love to try the Hong Kong stew, but that's not really my wife's thing. Overall, great food, great service (the way they maintain the line is pretty impressive, and they were the only restaurant we went to in Spain where they really tried to accommodate English speakers), and while it's not cheap, it's well worth the price. read more

OK so imagine you end up in a really high end shopping center. Take an elevator to the top floor. Get into a line to wait with other people. Make sure you get in the right line! Wait about 30min for a table and walk into chefs brain that is high on shrooms listening to techno/trance. That would be the only way to describe the whole experience. The food was good, the service was fast. The whole place is bumping techno while the main chef on the line is screaming out orders and mind you if you end up sitting at the main table its HOT as you are sitting directly next to stoves, ovens etc. For the experience alone this place was truly unique and nothing I have ever experienced before plus all the nano tech iPads and paying at the cashier at the end with minimum contact from your servers. Hi-Bye. For the dining experience alone I would give it maybe between 2.5 and 3 stars. I would also recommend to stick to beers while dining here. They have their own twist when it comes to original cocktail recipes so you might be surprised when your negroni tastes like a blueberry jam. Lastly, it is hard to find: make sure you walk into a high end shopping center and find an elevator. Lastly, there is an amazing ice cream place next door. read more

Chef David Munoz you are simply amazing. I don't know how you do it from the flavors to the texture and don't forget the exploding creativity that goes into each dish....seriously mind blowing! I'm Asian and I've always been skeptical about Asian fusion spots, because to be honest they are usually terrible, not good, and overpriced. Chef David Munoz, you have proved me wrong and I'm proud to say you have surprisingly blew me away by marrying Asian and Latin American flavors with your Spanish style of cooking. If the lines are long, I promise you don't worry it will be worth the wait. Started off with the white chocolate cocktail and the mezcal cocktail which already was delicious. White chocolate cocktail you would think would be sweet but it had a nice balance of fruitiness and tanginess. Nicely done! Next we had the Vietnamese spring rolls which was topped off with raw shrimp. The flavors here were so yummy and it was better than any spring roll I ever had. Yes, of course we had the peking duck dumpling with the crispy ear. Even the presentation of this dish was so unique - it was on parchment paper. You use your hands and swipe up the sauce and just eat it. It was so good! You get the crunch from the pig ear, the sweetness from the sauce and the savory from the peking duck dumpling. The third dish was the salmon with roe in a tangy yellow sauce. Even this dish has a bit of everything, crunch from the potato chip, roe for some savory and the salmon was light and refreshing. Next comes our favorite dish, King prawn Lasa. Gosh, the lasa broth was so flavorful that I wanted to drink the entire broth. The king prawn was literally the size of my head and it was cooked just perfectly. Nicely done here! The last was the scallop dish with a keffir lime sauce and coconut milk broth. I would say very innovative and again the flavors were just nicely merried. You think that's it? We had to end with dessert because every dish was just so good. We got the strawberry and lime ice cream, which had a nice balance of sweet and tang. I love the fruits and wafers thrown into the ice cream for a bit of texture. Overall, seriously one of the best spots ever in our life and wished we got to try DiverXo (3Michelin Star by Chef David Munoz) but we are so happy we got to experience StreetXo. His creativity and attention to detail in EVERY dish really shines. read more

The overall food has a unique presentation, however for the price you pay the portions are too small, so you are paying for the food presentation. Food was good, but won't make you full. Service was good until then end when I got my bill it was 139.50 Euros, so I gave the female host with curly hair 140 Euros in cash. Then I told her I had 0.50 euros because I didn't want change and she did not take it and told me it's the "same thing". In a food business, the goal should be to treat your customers with courtesy especially when my bill is so high. I understand that you don't want change, but I don't want it either. After spending so much money at your establishment, the least you can do is take my change, so you won't refund me more coins. Maybe I'm wrong or she did not know how to do math. If I gave her 140.50 Euros, my change would be 1 Euro. Rude! But the guy who served the food was super nice and tried to explain everything. It makes up for other people's attitude which is uncalled for. Please bear in mind the food here will not make you full unless you plan on ordering a lot and spending more money. The portions are like baby sized. read more

The food was absolutely amazing. We got there close to opening and sat at the "bar". We had a great view of the food as it was being made. Our waiter was wonderful. We needed translation on everything. He was patient with us, made great recommendations and was very attentive to our needs. The setting is alive, vibrant, captivating.

The food was delicious though I thought the service could have been better considering the prices are some of the highest for what comes out as "fast food." The food was coming out (we ordered 5 items) even before we finished eating one course. One of the items had a piece of dish cloth in it (the naan bread had a blue and white piece of cloth in it) and we were taking it out as the waiter was standing there but didn't acknowledge that there was something in the dish that shouldn't have been there. Still I give this 4 stars because the food really is above average, even though it's not cheap. I would recommend this place but I would recommend you check the dish before eating it to be sure there aren't any remnants from the kitchen that shouldn't be there. read more

There's no better way to kick off a new city than by eating at one of the trendiest spots in town! StreetXO is the more casual and affordable sister restaurant of the acclaimed three Michelin star, DiverXO, both run by three star Michelin Chef David Muñoz. Unfortunately dining at DiverXO requires planning MONTHS in advance but luckily for procrastinators, StreetXO has a no reservation policy and all it requires is that you get there early enough and be willing to wait. Getting there 40 minutes before opening for a weeknight dinner ensured a first seating but there were still lots of people who made it there even earlier. The vibe is funky, hip and almost a little frenetic. With loud punk rock music playing in the background, a majority of the guests - perched on stools at the bar - watched while straight jacket wearing chefs prepared the food in front of them. One of my favourite dishes of the night was the "la pedroche" croquettes (19€). The croquettes are filled with a mixture of sheep's milk and kimchi and are crunchy on the outside but amazingly creamy inside. It is then topped with slices of fatty toro and a dollop of butter which is then singed in front of you with a piece of hot coal. Finally it is topped with some XO sauce and a sprinkle of Lapsang Souchon tea powder. The chef's instructions are to eat it all in one bite resulting in an explosion of flavors - creamy, earthy, meaty, fishy and smokey. I loved how the cool firm texture of the tuna contrasted with the warm creaminess of the croquettes. Mind blowing! The infamous "Steamed Club Sandwich" (13€) starts with a Chinese steamed bun that has been grilled and cut in half and then topped with some extremely juicy pork belly, a layer of spicy Shichimi-Togarashi mayonnaise, fresh ricotta cheese, cilantro, and finally a fried quail egg. I loved the different flavours and textures complemented one another. The earthy juicy pork topped with the heat from the sauce was then soothed down with the mild creamy ricotta, popped with a herby zing from cilantro and finished off with a touch of richness from the egg yolk. The XO Style Korean Lasagna (16.5€) seemed like an earthy sticky mashup of flavours with a spicy kick at the end. Aged Galician beef is topped with shitake mushrooms mixed in with Gochujang hot & sour tomato sauce and some cardamom béchamel. This was then all topped with cooked wonton skins and some crispy wonton skins to give it some crunch. What I really liked about this dish was the chewiness of the cooked wonton wrappers - it was incredibly elastic and stretched over the meat and mushrooms to give it a nice chew. The fresh basil and tomato also gave the otherwise heavy lasagna a lighter touch. Finally, one cannot go to David Muñoz's restaurants without trying out some of his cocktail creations. I ended up getting the "Brazilian" (13€) with coconut milk and white chocolate. Served in a simple clear plastic bag with a straw (which is apparently what they do in Brazil), it might look unimpressive but the taste was phenomenal! Fruity, bright and refreshing, it had a slight hint of creamy white chocolate and was the perfect pairing to the incredible array of flavours from the food menu. This place is a must if you love Asian fusion. read more

Diver XO has always been on my Madrid wish list but I could never get in on the days I was in Madrid. I was excited to hear about StreetXO and they did not take reservations. We arrived early for dinner and Chef Muñoz's fun Asian street market vibe did not disappoint. This is a fun restaurant to go with friends. We ordered Pekinese Dumplings, Steamed Club Sandwich, Singapore Laska, Hong Kong-Madrid stew, Chili Crab, Vietnamese Roll, and lots of unique craft cocktails which began as we waited in line for the doors to open. The chefs and wait staff was a lot of fun. The music and noise level was not intrusive to great conversation. The open kitchen concept and being served by the chefs was fun. None of us could pick a single favorite entree. We all loved our meal and look forward to going back!! www.streetxo.com read more

I've been in Madrid for a week now, and this is the first time I've been discriminated. They did not let us in because we didn't speak fluent Spanish. I know that, because they let a couple inside who spoke fluent Spanish to the host in front of us, then let a couple behind us inside who spoke fluent Spanish. I had a cigarette outside the door after they denied us, and kept seeing groups of two or more go in. They claimed it was closed, so then why were they allowing all those people inside?! They do not take reservations, so I know that's not the issue. read more

This has jumped into one of the top five best restaurants i've been to! Full disclosure be ready for a really intense environment. You will probably have to wait in a line to get seated for least an hour.... but is well worth it! Circular bar setting where the food is prepared right in front of you! They bring it out hot and one at a time. My favorites in order: 1. Korean Lasagna 2. Bao Bun Club Sandwich 3. Dumplings 4. Croquets read more
This was probably my favorite meal in Madrid, in spite of the long wait! Every course was expertly executed, the atmosphere is fun and hectic, and the service is great! That said, it was, I think, it was also our most expensive meal, but it was worth every penny! I think my favorite dishes we're the bread, the seafood soup, and the Indian curry chicken dish. But really all of the food was amazing and interesting. I strongly suggest showing up just before opening time to minimize your wait time. We tried coming by on a weekend for dinner and the line was crazy so we came back on a weekday for lunch. The line was a more manageable 30 minutes on the weekday. read more

Street Xo wasn't on my list to go but after my friend was told to go to Diver Xo but couldn't get a reservation, insisted on going to Street Xo to at least have a taste of what chef Munoz is all about so I played along. For some reason, neither Street nor Diver dishes appeal to me much when I was researching that's why I didn't include them on my to try list. Street Xo opened at 8:30pm on Tuesday evening and we arrived at 8:10pm. There's about 5 parties in front of us already waiting in line. The waitress started letting people into the patio tables to have a drink before moving us all to the bar when it's open at 8:30pm. We were then moved to the bar area which you can see all the chefs hustling and bustling about preparing dishes. I found this overly high energy along with the music in the background quite stressful. It's like watching a movie in 10x speed mode. The waitress suggested ordering 5 dishes but we ended up ordering 4 + the buns which she said it's good for dipping the sauce + two drinks. Total came to 102 euro which I thought it's over priced. Both the lasagna and pigeon were too salty, although the pigeon itself was extremely tender (it was cooked blue and not even medium rare). The laksa probably was the better dish except one of the prawns didn't tasted too fresh. The laksa soup has quite a bit of shrimp broth base to it so it's uber umami. The croquetas with tuna sashimi on top was served by one of the chefs smoking the tuna with a piece of charcoal, then garnishing the tuna with xo sauce and spices. The tuna sashimi was only ok grade as there's some fiber in them. Bottom line, I think it might be better to just go to Diver Xo to truly have a taste of chef Munoz's dishes than settling for something less. It is possible to get a reservation at Diver Xo, you just need to be able to commit and book early. Street Xo does not take reservation and it's located in the El Corte Inglés de Centro Comercial Serrano 52 Man store on the 7th floor. It serves Asian fusion cuisine. read more
I'll just cut to the chase: most disappointing meal in Spain. Maybe our expectations were too high given this is a restaurant by the only 3 star Michelin chef in Madrid. We got there 30 minutes before opening and there was already a line and still waited almost 2 hours to get in. No big deal, you do what you gotta do for good eats and them serving drinks in line was definitely a nice touch. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the wait. Not sure how this restaurant get such good reviews but I have to suspect it's because Europeans no nothing about asian flavors or food. The food wasn't bad but c'mon, $25 for some potstickers and pig ears? That would have been $3 in Taipei and much better. The asian lasagna? Bland. Very artfully designed plates but sub-par food. I'll just sum it up by saying that you can get some of the best food on the planet in Spain, it just ain't here. read more

Have to give this place five stars. Everything about it is amazing. In fact it's so good, we went here twice in our two week trip to Spain. Amongst a half dozen Michelin starred restaurants we went to, StreetXO stood out as our favorite experience. The food is well executed and tastes amazing. We tried a total of 8 different dishes and loved every single one. The drinks are another highlight, they equal the food in taste and inventiveness. The only downside is the wait. It's good and people know it. Make sure you get there before opening time to ensure you even make it into the restaurant for dinner. read more

We went to Street Xo on a whim and were a little overwhelmed by the loud music when we sat down. However, the food and service made up for the noise. Our favorite dish was the black cod, which rivaled that of the famous Nobu restaurant. It was tender and bathed in a nice sauce. We also liked the duck/shrimp rolls and the Singapore brioche. It was also nice that the waiters explained the preparation of each dish and how to it. That was especially helpful with the duck/shrimp rolls! read more
Note: Take the elevator to get to Street XO, it's inside the El Cortes Ingles building. I was intimidated by reviews and my friend who told me they waited an hour, 2 hours for a seat. But I got here around lunch time on a weekday and was seated within 15 minutes. It was loud and decor was funky. The servers were all amazing and nice. We sat at the bar where we watched the chefs make their masterpieces with tweezers. My cocktail came in a plastic bag -- I forgot the name but it was the first one on the menu, with mango, coconut, pineapple, yuzu, everything I like. It was the best cocktail I had in Madrid. As for the food, I loved everything we had... Japanese pigeon, lamb, pork belly, etc. I like that every little ingredient was well thought out and complemented each other. read more
I never thought the words "gourmet" and "street food" could be used in conjunction but this place has proved me wrong. The food quality and creativity is on point; each dish was eclectic and presented in a very aesthetic manner -- I was spending ages Snapchatting my food. My favorite dish was the Pekingese Dumplings, which were served with crunchy pig ear. The sauce for the Pigeon dish was also very good, even though I found the sugared orange bread bits it came with to be a bit odd. However, the Korean Lasagna disappointed. Although it is one of their more popular dishes, I found the minced meat in this dish to be too salty and flavorful. While waiting in line, servers came out and took orders for drinks. I told my server that I preferred sweet cocktails and he came out with a quirky, tasty recommendation of a pineapple white chocolate cocktail served in a little plastic bag. Overall, dining here was an experience. From seeing the chefs prepare the food in front of you, to having them explain each dish and how to best eat it when it is first brought out, to the fun quirkiness of the street food itself, I had a lot of fun eating here. read more
We planned on StreetXO after snagging a reservation at DiverXO for a more casual dining option the first night we were in Madrid. As everyone here has mentioned, there is no option for reservations and the only way you get in is by waiting in a queue. We went there early (about 45 minutes before opening) and were second in line. Located in a department store at the very top level, it's definitely easy to miss this since you can't see it from the street and there isn't a ton of signage. It seemed like most of the people in restaurant were locals, which is always a good sign! Between the two of us, we had five dishes and two cocktails. My favorite was definitely the Singapore Brioche XO although the Pekinese dumpling was a close second. The cocktail I had was DELISH. I didn't look at a menu, so I'm not sure what it was called, but it was sweet and presented to me in a plastic bag with a straw. The vibe here is super fun and certainly not serious. Lots of loud music and yelling, especially around the kitchen area. While we had English menus and were able to order in English, knowing Spanish would greatly enhance the experience if you were sitting around the kitchen. We were able to interact a little bit with the chefs who served as our servers, and I would have loved to have spent more time talking to them. In any case, I would definitely check this place out, even if you're going to DiverXO. read more

It's true what everyone says... this place would've been impossible to find were it not for Yelp. Our taxi driver dropped us off in heavy traffic, about a block away, gesturing that Street XO was "over there," pointing in a general direction. After checking online, we saw that it is located on the 7th floor of the El Corte Ingles, which is really easy to find! I don't know enough about their operating hours to confidently change them on Yelp, but while Yelp said they are open all day, they are actually "technically" open at 8:30 pm on Mondays, according to the staff person who was behind their closed door when we arrived at 6:30. Be sure to wait in line early. For opening at 8:30, at 8:00 there were already about 20 people in line. They actually opened at around 9, and parties are seated one at a time by one hostess. When they seat you, they ask "What kind of cocktail do you like? Sweet? Sour?" and they tailor a drink to your preferences. You never see a drink menu. My boyfriend, who likes sour, got a lovely and very sour drink made with berries. I, who like sweet fruity drinks (pineapple and coconut specifically), got a lychee horchata made with coconut milk and sake, garnished with two nata de coco impaled on a toothpick. 4/5 Korean Lasagna: old Galician beef, wontons with shiitake mushrooms, spicy marinated tomatoes, goat milk, cardamom bechamel (15 euros) - so many flavors. Inclded fresh basil and tomato which gave the otherwise heavy lasagna and wonton more of a fresh taste. 5/5 Pekinese Dumpling: crunchy pig's ear and strawberry hoisin sauce, aioli, and gherkins - This dish was served on a big swatch of waxed butcher paper, with three stacks and painted Pollock style with the bright red sauce. This was so delicious, especially with the pig's ear. However, they did not put pickles on our dish, which we noticed after we ate ours and saw them assembling another set for another table. Bummer we didn't get to have the full flavor profile. 4/5 Miso-Charcoal Small Cuttlefish: Korean kimchi sauce and fried egg, extra crunchy Japanese mini sardines (14 euros) - The cuttlefish was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The egg added extra creaminess to the bright orange sauce, and the pile of crispy ramen noodles was a welcome textural touch. 4/5 White Hare (Wild Rabbit): "citvet" with fried noodles in wok and extra smoked bacon (17 euros) - There were two dishes made with rabbit on the menu, and we specifically pointed to the one we ordered and said "the white hare - the one with the noodles." We were surprised when we were brought the wrong rabbit dish. We sat with it for a few minutes, trying to flag someone down. When we got ahold of someone, they took the dish away and told someone else in the kitchen. Mind you, this is an open kitchen, so it was kind of embarrassing to see the other guy get upset when he was told the news. I'm not sure what happened to the original rabbit dish we were served, but after about 10 minutes of waiting, we received the dish we ordered. It was very heavy tasting and there were two bones. The presentation wasn't as pretty on this one, but it was fun watching them cook it with an explosive fire in the wok. 3/5 Service was great in the beginning, but we were checked on a lot less often after mid-meal. Servers walk past you constantly, but it is hard to get their attention when they are busy doing something else. The atmosphere is really cool when you sit at the counter, which wraps around the open kitchen. You can watch them cook and wave to the patrons sitting across the kitchen from you. I loved our seats - right in front of the charcoal grill and in clear view of the wok station, which would combust from time to time with a stunning flame. Pay up front at the register, and shop away at El Corte Ingles. Overall, this was a very cool restaurant with an inventive menu. It's nice to have access to the sister type of food they serve at the ultra fancy, impossible-to-get-into, DiverXO. read more

Don't you know who Munoz, the spanish wonderboy is? well you should, you definitely should! One of the fastest chefs to reach the 3rd michelin star and the creator of DiverXO, the only 3 stars restaurant in the spanish capital, and generally recognized "a mad cooking genius". And this is his second restaurant. You do not need reservations for it (thanks god, diverxo queue lasts more than 6 months!), and the queue is usually one hour. Me and my lady went here for our last dinner in Madrid, and we were sure not to be disappointed. And we were right. The place is basically build with high stools around a busy, loud kitchen. I mean, seriously loud! a guy in a straitjacket is your maitre, and we were promptly asked whether we wanted a cocktail (answer yes, please answer yes!) and our preferences for its main taste. I went for a bitter, citric entry before dinner while my love preferred for something sweeter, pineapple based. And they were just delicious, fabulous! The order is given directly to the chef, and from there a sequence of shouts will let your order get to the right chef in charge of your dish, wonderful! The type of cuisine is Asian Fusion, in Munoz style, with powerful tastes and different textures mixed together with vibrant touch. That's it, everything in the restaurant is ALIVE. It's extraordinary how the rupture of the kitchen-customers wall allows to bring the dining experience to a whole new level. The food is amazingly good, where splashes of flavors are joined together in your mouth, sometimes it feels Bangkok, sometimes it feels Valencia. A wonderful experience, and we can't wait to have the whole DiverXO experience now!! read more

Just amazing! Like nothing I ever tasted before The mix of ingredients is so creative, the delicacy-like presentation mixed by a street food experience is awesome! The cocktails are quiet cool as well and the staff is just super friendly. The pig's ear dumpling and the bacon with mussels are a mist try! read more

First time in Madrid and was looking for a nice spot to have some good food with my wife and a colleague. Not really a secret anymore, but StreetXO is just amazing! Food is excellent and probably one of the best I ever had, "live cooking", "Streetfighter"-like decoration and chefs in straightjackets are creating an atmosphere you will never forget! Asian food with Spanish components (some call it fusion, but Asian style is dominant) is cooked just in front of you, most of the dishes are meant to be shared with friends, we had eight dishes for three persons. Lasagne, lamb and dumplings are my favorites, but everything was great, created and cooked with passion and arranged to small masterpieces. We queued up one hour before opening (7:30 pm), a few minutes later it was already crowded. People coming later we're waiting for several hours. But it is definitely worth it! Amazing experience for a fair price, will definitely go there again! read more
Eater is a great food blog and their Essential 38 list never misses. StreetXo is featured on Eater's Madrid Essential 38 list and talks about Chef David Munoz (chef at DiverXo, Madrid's only 3 Michelin starred restaurant) and how me blends Asian and Latin America flavors with his Spanish style of cooking. As someone who loves all things Asian food, this was high on my must-try list in Madrid. And boy it didn't disappoint! A firecracker of flavors explode in your mouth with each bite, creating these extremely savory and sometimes overly complex flavor and texture combinations in your mouth. If you're a simple, non-adventurous eater, this isn't your place. If you're looking for an experience that pushes the creative limits, you will be pleasantly surprised with how great the food is here. Definitely some of the best bites in the city here! read more

We ate here the first night in Madrid after a couple of failed attempts at finding the place earlier in the day. Note that they are located in the Corte Ingles in Salamanca. We got there right at 8 when they opened (line was not bad) and ordered 3 tapas and 2 cocktails for € 68. We had the Korean lasagna, razor clams and the saam. For cocktails, we got the "exotic" one which was passion fruit and a custom whiskey mango cocktail. Overall, everything was very delicious. We were disappointed that we couldn't get a reservation at DiverXO (same chef of the 3 star Michelin restaurant in Madrid), but glad we found his street style, no frill, no reservation restaurant! Would highly recommend while in Madrid! read more

StreetXO has some very creative and unique dishes. I tried the prawn laksa, pork bao, pig ear dumplings, and the korean lasagna. The prawns in the laksa dish were cooked to a delicately soft texture, with shells of conchiglie daubed on the inside with a slightly sour sauce that contrasted well with the richness of the soup. I only wish the portion sizes were larger for the price! The pork bao was unlike any of the baos I'd tried before, as they were topped with thick ricotta cheese. Unlike many of some other traditional Asian dishes I've tried, the dish interestingly used mint leaves to cut through the creaminess of the ricotta instead of sesame leaves, which have a sharper taste. The bao dish was quite unique but had a bit too much ricotta for my taste. The pig ear dumplings were a fantastic combination of the savory crispiness of the pig's ear and the sweetness of the strawberry hoisin sauce and the flecks of (I think?) freeze-dried strawberries. These were one of the most unique dishes I've tried, and I definitely recommend this one! Finally, we tried the Korean lasagna since many reviews highly recommended the dish. I was unfortunately quite disappointed. The combination of textures were interesting, but there was little to suggest Korean influence. The gochujang-inspired sauce was diluted with tomato-based sauce and so it retained little of the vibrant spicy kick that gochujang traditionally has. The ground meat was not tender but very lumpy. Overall, the dish was also far too salty. It was quite a disappointing finish to our meal since the other dishes were wonderful. read more

Five out of five for sure. Arrive way way early or stand in line. Every single dish was perfect. In fact everything was so amazing we overlooked the sultry attitude of the female short haired chef being put off by needing to speak to us in English. Cheer up honey you're working at an amazing place. read more

Chef David Munoz's skilled and entertaining Crew at Street XO were spot on and delivered an amazingly creative and flavorful lunch for 3 of us. I just wish we would have had 2 more people with us so we could have ordered the entire menu! We especially enjoyed the Korean Lasagna, Steamed Club Sandwich, Lacquered Rabbit and flipped over the Iberian Pork Saam and Mussel Lettuce Cups!!! The playful flavors reminded me of my incredible meal at Tickets in Barcelona personally prepared by Chef Albert Adria. I can only hope Chef Munoz brings Street XO to San Francisco. 2 words.... O M G This place is unique. One of a kind. I have never been to a restaurant like this in my life. The food is excellent. Get the SSAM (their version of Korean pork belly wrapped in lettuce). The atmosphere is just WOW. So lively. Awesome music. Not sure if I should eat or dance read more

Must go! Excellent high end Asian inspired cuisine. Service stuff is friendly and the food comes out fast. Get there very very early bc there will be a line out the door and down the stairs to get in! I waited about 1.5hrs but it was really worth it. Great experience and tastes you will not find anywhere else in Madrid. We ordered the dumplings, Vietnamese rolls, Korean lasagna...all amazing. Five stars read more

Visited this place back in September while on vacation and I cannot wait to go back!! The food was INCREDIBLE and presentation was exceptional. They cook just about everything right in front of you and explain what ingredients were used to make your dish. Very laid back and trendy atmosphere. HIGHLY recommend. FYI, it's on the roof top of a shopping mall so easy to miss. read more

Food is truly exceptional and modern. Vibe is funnnn and loud! Not so friendly to English speakers but we got past that. Cocktails are crazy concoctions however you just have to trust the waiter for whatever reason the cocktail menu is only Spanish. We went mid afternoon and can only imagine how wild the evenings are. I would return in a heartbeat!! read more
Our local dear friend recommended us MUST try this place, what's funny is he didn't recommend an of the traditional Spanish restaurant to us:P It's very hard to find, because it is located at top of one of the most popular Spanish shopping mall. But if you feel you are in a posh/high class area of Madrid and basement of the mall only sell luxury brand(instead of cosmetic department) then you are at the right location. The line feels long but moved very fast! Our server was friendly with good recommendation for cocktails. It was some smoky shrimp cocktail, i know sounds gross but believe me IT IS THE ONE OF THE BEST COCKTAIL I'VE NEVER HAD. Food recommendation? All the food we ordered were super good!!! So if you have time and enough budget, try everything!! Our favorite was the fat pork belly in lettuce wrap. we had too.. it was so fat and unhealthy but delicious!! This might be our only reason to go back Madrid (Beside visiting friends) read more

I was very excited to eat at this restaurant. I got there at 10pm and although there was room at the bar, they made me stand outside of the restaurant behind a rope to wait. When they sat me at the bar, the bartender was very friendly and made a delicious beverage recommendation. Overall service was great, polite and friendly staff, but the food... I ordered the dumplings, they were very good, creative with the different ingredients and I would eat those again. The squid sofrito express looked interesting, but tasted like a lot of soy sauce was used. Not good. Lastly, the croquettes, while the chef put on a lovely show by burning the butter on the coal, the combination of thinly sliced raw tuna on a hot croquette, with burnt butter on top, did not work at all. I only ate 1 because the inside of the croquette was a watery cream, which was quite unexpected and quite frankly nauseating. I think this restaurant only does so well, because it relies solely on the owner's reputation as a 3 Michelin Star chef. I wouldn't return nor recommend it. Quite disappointing. read more

StreetXO is a one-of-a-kind dining experience in Madrid. Chef David Muñoz is known for his innovative and creative take on Asian-inspired cuisine, and StreetXO is the perfect place to sample his culinary genius. The restaurant is small and intimate, with a counter overlooking the open kitchen. This gives diners a front-row seat to the action as the chefs prepare each dish with precision and flair. The menu changes frequently, but you can always expect to find dishes that are both delicious and visually stunning. My favorites include Korean lasagna, black cod, and dumplings. The cocktails are also excellent, and the wine list is well-curated. The service at StreetXO is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, and they are always happy to make recommendations. If you want a unique and memorable dining experience in Madrid, I highly recommend StreetXO. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. Overall, StreetXO is a must-visit for any foodie visiting Madrid. It's a unique and unforgettable dining experience you will never forget. Pros: * Innovative and creative cuisine * Amazing flavors * Visually stunning dishes * Great service * Fun and lively atmosphere Cons: * Can be pricey * Reservations are essential or face long queues * Can be noisy read more

This place is amazing! We had to beg to let us in cause even though they close at 11pm, they stop letting people in at 10pm. We got there at 10:05pm but the manager eventually gave in and let us in. The food was all phenomenal and the experience of learning about each item was super cool. My favorite was the spring roll! read more
