Yelp guided us to this place on the top floor of the El Corte Ingles store. Had no idea we were happening into such a fun and energizing place. Service was excellent along with the recommendations. Started with 4 dishes and added a 5th. Incredible. Lasagna, Lamb, and dumplings topped the list. As we sat there started researching this restaurant only to find it is the offspring of Diverxo a 3 Michelin Star rated restaurant. Now it's making sense. We waited 2 hours no lie and we got there right when they opened. The positives of waiting in line, there's a unique ice cream place right next door and its great definitely grab one while you wait. The waitress from Street XO comes out and takes drink orders also another plus. I ordered the "bag juice" . It was full of ice and not enough liquor. This review isn't gonna be great, warning you now. Things to know Street XO is in the dept store on the 7th floor. The restaurant next door doesn't allow you to take drinks into the Street XO line or food. We were so starving it seems like common sense but after a day of tourists activities and walking, trust you would try it to. So don't come super hungry. The manager from Street XO was adamant about containing the line within the ropes, it gets a little tight and everyone gets agitated so pack your patience. Now getting inside Street XO. Its so loud, there's no table talk, the servers are yelling, the guests are yelling if you thought you were going to have a relaxing meal here THINK AGAIN. You know how you read so many good reviews and there's one rotten egg? ME. I'm that egg. I'm a picky eater, I try to avoid beef, pork, turkey, chicken. If it walks on land I don't want it. So I ordered the fish and after all of the orders came out and our check was delivered, still no fish. It was then the waitresses came out and apologized for not having the fish. Thank the heavens I snacked on the other items the other 5 guests ordered. It was my worst meal in Madrid and the worst restaurant experience ever. On our five day trip to Madrid this was the highlight of our foodie tour! After much confusion and going to three different El Cortés Ingles stores we finally found Street XO at the El Cortés Ingles store in Salamanca on Seranno street. As Spaniards hardly ever have early dinners, as Canadians we can't imagine having dinner after 8. Imagine our hunger when we arrived at 730 and was told they don't open until 8! We were the first in line and the restaurant didn't let us in until 830 so by that time we were starving. They offered my husband a cocktail and I got probably one of the best cups of fresh squeezed orange juice I've had on this trip. The food was creative and a fusion of Asian and Spanish tapas. The menu was quite extensive and we had trouble deciding which dishes to order. I would hands down recommend the lasagna as it was assembled with so much care right in front of our eyes. We also got the crispy pork ear dumplings and the Kentucky fried quail legs with ponzu aioli. All of it was delicious. My husband said the Alhambra beer was the best beer of the trip so far. We finally decided on one more dish of Iberian pork belly saam on lettuce wraps. They were delightful. I would definitely come back here again!!! P.S. This restaurant is in an odd location but very well worth seeking out the service is excellent although the restaurant is a little loud and there is a lot going on around you I would highly recommend it. It to me has a street food vibe to it decor and atmosphere but high end food. The service was great they where very attentive to us. We had Lamb, pigeon, and rabbit which eat was so well executed. If you can't go to this chefs main restaurant diver xo this is a great seasons option. Or if you want something not so set and a little more off the cuff and relaxed then this is the place for you. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for some amazing food. It's not cheap but worth every penny. read more

NOT WORTH THE WAIT OR MONEY! Ok so there is at least an hour wait to get in even on a Monday night! Pro's: place is clean, staff were friendly Con's: portions are more like tasting size, we waited a long time (almost an hour) for one of the dishes To have a meal size amount of food each person will need to order 2-3 items, at an average cost of €20 each it adds up fast. The one cocktail I had was ok but not amazing and cost €11. The taste of the food is just OK and not really special. Having tried Asian street food many times I can confidently say the genuine article is much better than what is being offered here. I had higher expectations given the status of the chef and all the hype. I just don't get how street food is supposed to be fine dining. The quirky ambiance with the servers in straightjackets and the bar seating just does not add up to the menu price. My advice: save your money and buy a plane ticket to Southeast Asia, where you can eat twice as good for a hundredth of the cost. There are too many better restaurants in Madrid to try so don't waste your time or money here. Don't believe the hype. Truth is it's just not that good. read more

Went to Spain on my honeymoon and Street XO was recommended by our tour guide in Madrid once he found out we were foodies. A long wait to get in as they don't take reservations (but they get you drinks in line while waiting) but it was worth it. A crazy, eclectic menu only rivaled by the servers, cooks and chef in their straight jackets and wild hair and tattoos!! A great blend of food styles created by Michelin Chef David Munoz at an affordable price and available to everyone...if you're prepared to wait in line. I defiantly suggest going for lunch or weekdays to avoid long lines. read more

After eating here, I got terrible food poisoning for 4-5 days and am still suffering. My family and I were on vacation and went to Street XO just recently on December 23rd, 2018. As others said get there early. We got there at 1:10 for a 1:30 opening. When we arrived we were third in line and by the time the doors opened the line was 40 people deep. The food was creative, exciting and delicious. The flavors of most of the dishes were so intense it was almost difficult to eat more than a couple of bites. One of the best meals with fun energy. Sit at the counter and you watch them prepare the food. They present the order to you on a paper place mat and each order is meant to be shared with another so if you go with many people, sit next to someone who has similar tastes. Korean lasagna, black cod, dumplings and scallops were four of the 7 items we had. We ordered 4 items to start for two of us and then decided what else to eat based on the server suggestion or what we saw being prepared for another group. Culinary arts meet performance art. Think David Mamet meets Emeril Lagasse. We were taken to Street XO by a local Madrilenos who had yet to dine here. We arrived early to avoid the inevitable long lines. 4 of us tried a combination of 8 dishes,ranging from the lasagne to the pig ear dumplings. Each dish offered its own explosion of flavor. We also sampled a selection of XO's special cocktails, with my wife what doesn't ordinarily drink, enjoying a cheddar tequila combination. We were seated at the counter overlooking the chefs, all of whom spoke English and could explain how each of the dishes were prepared. In order to not feel rushed, we ordered our dishes 2 at time. The food was varied from good to extremely good. Really enjoyed the steamed club sandwhich,the razor clams , and the tandoori lamb. The noise rearranged my innards . Since you have several different people attending to you their was little connection to any one person. The quality of the service varied from very good to indifferent. diverxo a tough reservation as the only 3 star Michelin but there's an opportunity to try this place at the gourmet experience (street xo moved). there's plans to open one in NYC. here you can wait in line for a seating, menu is Asian fusion. mixology drinks. set up is open kitchen with hip music blaring. *korean lasagna old Galician beef. wontons with shiitake mushrooms. spicy marinated tomatoes. goat milk. cardamom bechemal. -- tasty but a true mash of flavors and textures, almost too complex, not appear much Korean influence though lot seen elsewhere on menu alongside Singaporean influence *skate ribs and banana leaves. Best meal I had in Madrid! If they have the King Crab special you have to get it. They use a whole crab (with the brain) and make two dishes with it. One is crab brain soup in the crab shell with a soft fried egg. The second they cook the rest of the crab in a spicy and sour sauce and you can dip Man-tou in it. We also got their dumplings as an app. It was simple but probably the best dumpling I've had with a tangy strawberry sauce. We were so full after we could barely walk out of there. They also have real cool looking cocktails and my husband tried two and loved it. And I think the price is super reasonable for a place like this. read more

Very trendy and funky yet the food is absolutely delicious! My friend and I arrived just before 8 and had to wait in line until it opened at 8:30. We're so glad we waited though! We ordered grilled fish ribs cooked in banana leaf, thai salad, and dumplings. We were also served a cocktail each. Still a mystery as to what they were. I really can't believe how this place is even working. There wasn't even so much people because is eastern Sunday and the line wasn't that long. The hostess was so mean and rude to us that we decided to leave the place without even having food. First he said that the restaurant was closed and that we had to go to the other line, and then he seated people that were behind us,went into the other line and then he came yelling at us because we were not in the right line. We didn't know what to eat when we were in Madrid and so we did some research while we were in our hotel. My husband found this restaurant and said it was David Munoz's restaurant. He told me that David Munoz has a 3 Michelin star restaurant and this is an Asian fusion restaurant. This restaurant is inside the department store El Cortes Ingles in the Salamanca neighborhood. We ate the saam lettuce wrap, the steamed sandwich with ricotta cheese, the lasagna and the dumplings. Everything was really good at this restaurant. We both liked the saam and I really like the steamed sandwich. It is like a Chinese bao with a tender piece of meat and the ricotta cheese made the sandwich really rich. My husband liked the lasagna. I thought it was good, but it didn't really stand out to me. We also got drinks, but I don't know the names of it. I got a ginger drink that tasted a lot like a Moscow mule and my husband god this drink coconut, mango, pineapple drink that comes in a bag like drinks in Asia. This restaurant is very popular. Lots of diners here late at night and a lot of them had this one drink that came in a HUGE glass and the drink was clear with a purple tint. I don't know what it is but it looked really cool. Service is here good. We didn't know what to order when we got here so the servers helped us out by explaining the menu. They play loud music here so it makes it feel like you are dining in a club.
